Was having a great breakfast next door and noticed the sea kayaks ontop of vehicles in front of the Aqua Diving Academy. However, it was closed as it was still early, will return to check out this cool looking place.

This is a terrific, welcoming shop. I have gone through them for certification and smaller gear needs and I have been absolutely delighted. Terrific instructors, who are incredibly informative and encouraging, exceptional staff willing to give great recommendations, and a wonderful owner who makes the whole process very accessible, and genuinely cares about her divers’ experiences. I would recommend this business 110% to anyone looking to get SCUBA certified.

Great shop, friendly service. They did my annual kayak drysuit maintenance/ repair quickly with high quality work. Aqua Dive shop also has all sorts of necessary gear for most kinds of water adventuring. Shop local!

This is the second review Ive ever written, and Im writing as I cannot help but share the positive experience I had at Aqua Diving Academy -Awesome place! Great selection! Competitive pricing! Absolutely fantastic service - its been 15 years since my last dive and was looking for info on a refresher course as well as getting a set of basics (mask/fins/wetsuit). They were exceptionally patient and friendly while I asked questions and tried different options, and also took great care with safety protocol due to Covid (including sanitizing all gear and even debit card).Super excited to get back under water and will be booking not only refresher course with them, but hopefully many dive trips to come.

Asking 300$ a day to rent a dry suit :(

This is pretty much the best dive shop in the state. HUGE selection of products, amazing staff and excellent service. Prices are matching or less than online too. Theyre a dealer of just about every major brand out there too. Great instructors, though course costs tend to be quite a bit more than other places, but their courses are also longer and more comprehensive in order to make good divers.

Nice store. Knowledgeable staff. Great on repairs. Reliable. Good for a lot of nondiving water activities too. Good parking.

Brilliant Customer Service and Local Knowledge...A Treasure on the Portland waterfront ⚓

While on a cruise we stopped in Portland Maine and happened upon the Aqua Diving Academy while strolling along the wharf. I had been searching for a mouth piece for an old snorkel and wondered if they might have one. The personnel were very courteous and helpful and to my amazement had the item I was looking for. The store is well stocked and well worth a visit.

We needed a large quantity of gear. They were very helpful with getting all the gear we needed. Most of the gear was either new or in very good condition. They were knowledgeable about dive locations and gear we were using. Everything went pretty smoothly. The only thing was that customer service was slightly lacking by few individuals. If you are planning on renting, just make sure you know what specific gear you need ahead of time with sizes. But overall, a good experience and would recommend this to anyone diving in the Portland area.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this shop. I went in looking to buy a wetsuit, the first one I had ever purchased, and I was helped by a woman who was extremely cold and rude. I told her what I was looking for and had a few questions such as rental vs. purchase, size and style. This woman made me feel as though I was a burden and as though I was bothering her with my questions and my presence. I went in excited to buy my first wetsuit and left upset and empty-handed. I would expect someone in retail to show a little more respect to any and all customers.

Great place, Jim Dock took me from nothing to knowing in no time, at my pace. Julie Footman runs a tight ship, extremely professional and knowledgeable.

Always great service. Every time we stop in, be it to spend $2 or $200, we receive impeccable service.

Worst dive shop ever ..the people are rude and the prices are triple then any other dive shop around. Divers beware!
