Came in with an m1a to have the stock swapped for a sage chassis. They said it would take about a week which is very reasonable. The next day not even 24hrs later got a call and it was finished, not only that but they went above and beyond and worked on a slight issue that I didnt even ask them to fix all for the original quoted price. Amazing service!

Only reason I’m giving them two stars is because I personally know folks who have had decent experiences with these folks. I have not. Brought in a revolver with cosmetic damage. I was told it would be about 3-4 weeks, two months later and they had not even touched it. They apologized and swore it would be done within the week. 1.5 weeks later and nothin, promising it would be done within the week. I’m picking it up today And I’m tired of getting dinked around. All I asked was them for a time frame. They could have said 4 months and I would have been okay with that as long as I got it back in 4 months. Although they have been friendly the whole time over phone calls, I feel like I’m being lied to and been given lip service. This is the first review I’ve ever wrote on google. I dont think this review will hurt these folks as there are only a handful of gunsmiths still around. It’s a dying profession and I do respect the trade. However all I received from them was lips service and a 65$ charge for them holding our revolver for 2.5 months.

Do not go here! Over 4 years I have brought in 5 guns to them and they have only been able to fix 1. One I was able to fix with a screwdriver after some research at least they didnt charge me for that one. They others they said nothing can be done and I was charged full price. So 2 guns I was able to take to REAL gunsmiths and they fixed them, the others I was able to fix with lots of YouTube videos. After asking friends 2 other people I know had the same issues with allison and Carey they brought in guns to be fixed and they were not able to and still were charged full price. They do have a good used gun selection, used parts, and nice workers but are not able to even zero a scope. They will just blame it on the scope. Again go somewhere else to actually fix a gun.

They usually have a good selection of vintage firearms, so dont pass them up on your next gun shopping trip!

Needed to have the trigger replaced on my Remington rifle as part of a recall. Theyre the only Remington Authorized Repair Center in the Pacific Northwest. Being as I live in the Seattle area, I was expecting to have to make 2 trips to drop off then pick up my rifle. I called the day before to explain the situation, and Jeff quickly had my repair done in a few hours, allowing me to drive to Portland from Seattle and back again with the service complete in the same day. Thanks, Jeff!

I bought myself a Remington 700 with a 24in barrel, and wanted it to be cut down to 18in for brush hunting.A local gun shop told me about Allison and Carey, and I decided to try them out.I managed to get there 10 minutes before they were closing, and they were very friendly. The Young man working there noticed that I was missing a cap on my scope, and managed to find a replacement for it.I have to admit I was shocked when they called me the next day and said my rifle is ready. Not only was my rifle done in a timely manner but it was a very professional job.I will definitely come back to this friendly welcoming professional business again for my Gun needs, also they had some really awesome vintage guns for great prices

Two weeks ago I took my new Remington Mod 700 to Allison and Carey, an authorized Remington repair shop, for a replacement trigger after having been notified that my rifle was on a national recall.I delivered my rifle to them on a Thursday morning for the authorized service and received a call the following Monday that the recall replacement trigger had been installed. Since I live about 75 miles from the shop, A&C shipped my rifle to me, which I received the following Wednesday. All in all, the service was excellent, with the very minimum of time required for the authorized repair. Jeff was very helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable on the Remington recall.I highly recommend them for your repairs and any specialized gun smith work.

I found and bought a barrel for my Remington 870 Wingmaster from these guys after calling every source I knew to replace the shorter barrel that came with my gun. However, after a few hundred shells trap shooting the rib separated. Had to be a manufacturing defect. I took it back to them thinking maybe they could re-solder. Instead they suggested I leave it and ket them send back to Remington for a possible replacement. BAM!! I picked up the brand new barrel today. Awesome, friendly, service. I bought a barrel from the factory for my Left-hand 1187 Rem Premier 12 ga. because the collar that holds barrel on gun cracked at the gas port area. After replacing barrel, the gun would not cycle correctly on opening day of Duck season and I was leaving the following week for a N. Dakota Pheasant hunt. On the following Tuesday I took my problem to Jake at Allison & Carey, he broke down gun while I waited, asked me to leave it & said he would have it by Saturday for my trip. He called 3 hours later, gun was fixed and ready to go. That is outstanding service!! Thank you Jake for taking pride in your craft and care for your customers.

Fellow Shooters...I recently had issues with a new Cynergy Classic Trap Combo w/adjustable check comb & gray laminated wood. I ordered the firearm from a local Sporting Goods Store in late June. When I finally received the gun (11/15) it was defective in that the forearm did not securely latch on the O/U barrels. After contacting Browning and listening to Mike Sieberts (Browning Customer Service) disinterested and cavalier attitude. I contacted Allison & Carey and Jeff was available and took time from his hectic schedule to listen to my concerns. Jeff being an authorized Browning Firearms Gun Smith ask me to leave the firearm and said He would take a look. Within hours Jeff had fixed the issue and the firearm was ready to pick up.Although this may have been a simple fix and seemingly not a big deal! What is special and meaningful about my experience with Jeff/Allison & Carey was his understanding of the situation and concern for repairing the defective firearm.Thank You Jeff...Dave F.

I had recently found a 1917 endfield in my grandmas attic. This rifle had been sitting there for 60 years,I brought it in for an inspection and cleaning, we wanted to make sure it was safe to fire. They wrote up a service slip and I asked what the ETA was going to be,I explained that we were super exited to fire this rifle, the gun smith kindly replied about two weaks. Business being business I was fine with that, the 1917 hadnt seen any action in 60 years any way. To my surprise the phone rang early the next day my rifle was ready to be picked up,I thought the worst, not knowing if it needed extra parts or maybe its to old to be useful any more. I drove down there and the gunsmith said I had a heck a rifle and a heck of a find, they were built solidly back then and it was in near perfect condition! Its old but safe to fire. I am pleased that they didnt try to up sell me on things that I didnt need they were kind proficient and really know there stuff! Thank you!

The WORST service I have ever had, extremely sub par workmanship and lack of professionalism. My rifle was sent here for a Remington warranty repair. I am admittedly very particular about my rifles and want things done right, especially since this was a brand new rifle. The repair was not fully completed and when I pointed out the issue they replied that they couldnt see the issue and that there was no problem, although both me and my wife could see it and others that I have shown since as well. There where also scratches in the receiver and bolt handle from reassembly. They became noticeably agitated that I was not happy with the work and instead of working towards a solution became very rude and told me if I wasnt happy with the work to send it back to Remington instead of backing up the work they had performed. I will NEVER return and will advise anyone I know to stay away as well.

These guys are the worst, I brought in 2 Rem 700s for the recall fix and had a barrel swap on one of them as well. They claim on their site its faster to go to them than to Remington for the fix. I took my 2 guns to them the last week of Oct 2014 and just got them back last week. THEY HAD MY GUNS FOR OVER 5 AND A HALF MONTHS! I kept calling and was told it will be done soon and next week then after about 4 months I called and pushed back about the length of time they had my guns and the guy was extremely rude. He tried to blame it on Remington and they had just gotten triggers in after waiting a month. I asked him about the previous 3 months with no answer. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and ATTITUDE.
