Absolutely love their icecream! Their chickpea icecream is creamy and flavorful. Lots of unique flavors. My favorite is the chocolate and has a super great consistency similar to real ice cream. The cookies and cream wasn’t as good but still very tasteful. The chocolate chickpea waffle cone was nice and crunchy. Finally, the staff are super kind and nice! Offered many samples and gave great recommendations. Will definitely be coming back

Superb non-dairy ice cream with a really creamy mouthfeel! The ice cream appeared a bit crumbly, however, that is an illusion, as it turned out to be a rich and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. I also particularly enjoyed the peach lavender, a combination I’d never seen before, but one that worked really well.

This is the best vegan ice cream I’ve ever tasted! It’s as good as the real thing and doesn’t have that weird taste some other dairy-free ice creams have. All of their flavors look so delicious I wish I could have tried them all! The Cookies and cream and cinnamon granola were delicious as well as the chocolate and coffee. They also had so many gluten free baked goods and cones! Would definitely recommend this place!

I was admittedly skeptical, but came away impressed. Ice cream made from chickpeas tastes just like milk, albeit it does lack a certain creaminess. I got an orange caramel scoop which tasted much like creamsicles of my youth. Its a great place for vegan folks on a hot day.

Surprisingly delicious chickpea “ice cream” - highly recommend the coffee flavor (blackberry basil was a bit much for me personally). Chickpea waffle cone was also good - noticeably crunchy and a bit thinner than a typical waffle cone. It was also available in chocolate. I’d consider coming back, but $6 was a bit steep for one scoop in a cone... Interesting and new to try out, though!Update: stopped by again for the chocolate... very good but still pricey!

This place is great! Their chocolate ice cream tastes so good, creamy and not super sweet like store-bought vegan ice cream. We also got matcha and cookies and cream flavor, yummmm! Its on the pricier side, but I totally get that, the scoops are big and the experience of eating a cruelty free treat is definitely worth it!

Great alternative for gluten free or lactose intolerant people. Came here for a friend who wanted to try and was impressed! My favorite was the Orange Carmel, tasted really close to an Orange creamsicle. The waffle cones are a little thinner and crispier than a regular one, but had great taste.Slight aftertaste on a couple of ice creams, nothing overpowering or bad, just a little different. The chocolate chip and sea salt cookie had good flavor. A little chewier than a regular one, but still really good!Great place and great alternative to milk and gluten!

Delicious! You cant even tell everything is made of chickpeas. The highlight for me personally was gluten free waffle cones. I havent been able to eat a cone in over a year and so I was beyond excited to try it. It was delicious and paired well with my ice cream. The store itself looked homely and modern, a cute date spot for sure. Take your next tinder date here 😉

Wow! Saying it was delicious is an understatement! I bought 4 pints because it was so good, and I wanted to have some for the rest of my vacation! I am from TN and would be thrilled if this was in stores near me!!! You guys have truly changed the dairy free industry with ice cream! With non-dairy options like this, I don’t miss real dairy! Thank you so much for such a delicious treat!!!I also really appreciated the chef who came and chatted with me about the ingredients. She was helpful and honestly interested in answering my questions. She went out of the way to look up ingredients and nutrition. She was very transparent about their process of making the ice cream!

Wonderful non-dairy ice cream made from chickpeas. I tried a split scoop of Szechuan Strawberry with Lemon Ginger - a little spicy and a little tart. So good! I visited Little Bean today with my friend. Ive been curious about the place since riding by multiple times on bike tours and Im glad I went in to try their stuff. Nicki was super helpful to my friend and I with trying flavors and chatting about the different qualities of ice cream. The vegan ice cream was superb, and I was quite happy to have a gluten free waffle cone, something I havent found a good replacement for since giving up gluten. Chickpea ice cream is an excellent idea, I got the triple chocolate on a chocolate cone, it was delicious. I will recommend this to my friends.

Portland has a lot of fun and unique places to get ice cream and Little Bean is absolutely no exception. Fun flavors can be found here and I would definitely recommend putting them in the chocolate waffle cone. They also serve coffee, tea, and fresh bread baked on site! Dont forget to try the free bread samples. Also, the ice cream is made from chickpeas (garbanzo beans). It sounds odd and tastes way better.

Just opened today (Apr 1)They have:-- Vegan ice cream made from chickpeas.-- Coffee drinks made with chickpea milk. -- Pastries, mostly made with eggs.-- Sandwiches, most of which are vegan.Im disappointed they arent 100% vegan and that 80% of the pastries use egg. So close... They are, however, gluten free, nut free, dairy free, and soy free.Im not a fan of the vegan pastries or the coffee drinks. But the sandwiches are great and the ice cream is pretty good.

Not bad - it was tasty enough for a 7-year old to think it was ice cream. When after we explained it was from chickpeas, she didn’t believe us. For the adults, the only complaint is that it was a bit flaky and overly sweet, but I imagine that’s a necessary trade off for being dairy-free. The flavor combinations, although limited to 8, were very good. The cherry chai was tasty.

Got the triple chocolate. The ice cream has a grayish tint and is crumbly - very unappetizing. Flavor was OK, though beats me where the triple comes in. $4.75 per scoop + $1.5 for a cone are outrageous, especially when considering the cheap ingredient - chickpeas - they are based on.If there was high quality chocolate or cocoa used it was well hidden.Location, decor, service; nothing to write home about.Would not go back if you paid me.

Always a gamble going somewhere on their first day, however, I put my money on bean and won! My wife has had me stalking their instagram in anticipation of opening day and they finally made it happen today! Weve had samples from their cart at various times prior to opening and knew how delicious the ice c̶r̶e̶a̶m̶ was going to be. We also tried the carrot tarragon bread and it was on point! For being made with leftover garbanzo bean stuffs, the texture was very breadlike. Maybe better than bread? Airy, crispy, soft, and fluffy all at the same time. Its great to have another gluten free sweet spot for all those GFers out there. Thanks Little Bean! See you again!

Eatable. Crumbly. Aftertaste. Overpriced. Sad. Disappointed. Uncomfortable. Unfriendly.I will say that I was able to eat the frozen bean dessert. I have been excited about trying this place as soon as I heard of the concept. Today was my brothers birthday and he is a vegan we were excited to try this new dessert presented as ice cream.I would suggest if anyone is going to eat this frozen bean thing that looks like ice cream do not eat it out of a cone. The frozen bean stuff falls apart while you try to eat it you definitely need a spoon. All of the flavors need to work. Even the plain coffee flavor taste like you used instant coffee. Which leaves a very odd aftertaste. For that matter every flavor I tried had a very odd aftertaste.I think the “employees” must be indentured to the owners because they were the saddest people out side of a funeral home.By the wayITS NOT ICE CREAMlol
