We found this gem while exploring Portland! It is a chill cafe right by the water. The staff are super friendly and the ice cream plus drinks were great. Would definitely recommend and plan on going back in the near future.

The turkey cranberry sandwich was delicious. Came here with my laptop to do some work, but its a public open access wifi with no password and keeps lagging when trying to live stream or watch videos for work. Id say internet works good if you are just searching the web. But the speed is too slow for anything beyond that.Also the lighting in doors is pretty dim if you are just reading a book. But there is plenty of outdoor seating with Great views of the river.

Oh wow is all I can say!!!! The Little River Cafe is reopening on May 7th - don’t miss out on this amazing cafe right on the river front. I was lucky to be invited for their staff training day and what a treat it was!!!! The menu is completely new and filled with organic delicious choices. Their pastries are to die for and of course they still have their ice cream bar. The entire space has been tastefully remodeled and updated with the necessary Covid updates. Yet somehow they managed to do so in a subtle, elegant way that reminded me of France. What a win for the Riverplace promenade. Come for the amazing food and grab a pastry or ice cream cone to go while you stroll along the river.

This is a great little cafe right on the rivers edge. The French toast brioche I had was very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Good coffee, quick service, BOMB egg sandwiches with generous egg portions. Not a huge fan of the ceiling color, but if you keep your eyes below the horizon it’s nbd. No karaoke either, which was kinda weird.

We had an unfortunate experience at this place on 7/5/2021. We regularly stop here after bike rides/runs to get ice cream, and often get coffee from next door. This day, an employee told us to move from their green tables, because we had not purchased food. This would be completely reasonable, except we had purchased ice cream(s) from their establishment.After moving three small children to another table, I went inside to ask why were were asked to move. He was quite rude and dismissive of me, turning away to work on a sandwich... so I kind of paused in shock, and left. About 10 minutes later, he returned to us (now down the walk) and wanted to apologize - except it wasnt really an apology. Instead, he was letting us know that if we had let him know that we had purchased from him, he would not have made the mistake of making us move.I did not feel this was reasonable, given that the kids were eating the ice cream (no kid hides their ice cream). The information was readily availble to him. When approached and told to move, because we were using his table, we complied; the responsibility is not on the customer to justify, but rather on the establishment to enforce their rules accurately and fairly.Mistakes happen. But in this case, the Little River did not accept responsibility, but informed us as the customer how to comply. This was an unfair scenario, initiated and propagated by the cafe. it is unfortunate that our kids will no longer get their ice cream there.

Needed good coffee and great food and got both with a view! Breakfast sandwich on gluten-free bread was excellent! Perfect gf bread, which can be hard to find. Husbands breakfast wrap was beautiful and full of veggies. And the iced coffee was amazing!

Took a “ award winning “ decaf. It’s tasted like hot water. Almond milk not even creamy.

Incredibly great breakfast here. My scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly with fontina cheese and the rosemary potatoes were crispy. The banana bread was so good and not too sweet. My husband said his coffee was the best he has had in Portland. How good was it? Im going back tomorrow!

Such a great selection of food to choose from. This is a great casual place to grab a bite and drink with a friend. The staff very friendly and they have nice art work displayed for sale on the walls. Theres wifi too, so if you are looking to work on a few things on a tablet or laptop, this place could be great for that! They also have outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

The cafe is lovely, and the location is so amazing, you can either sit inside or outside next to the harbor, very European in its appeal. the view of the yachts and the bridges is breathtaking. the food itself is super tasty, you have breakfast till 11 am only, I wish they has it all day. The lunch menu centers mostly around wraps and sandwiches. But I had the mushroom quiche corn soup, and it all tasted delish. I would love to sit here for hours and read while enjoying their fare, if only I had the time. Highly recommended.

Ate the sockeye salmon sandwich with a black bean salad salsa thing. Absolutely delicious with a great view of the river too. Coffee is very well done here too.

Stopped on a Friday afternoon on a whim. Service was great, friendly, and timely. Food was yummy. Only 2 taps of beer, but the ipa was fantastic. Offering breakfast food at 3pm is genius 👍👍

Okay, I only got some ice cream but it was fantastic. I got lemon and raspberry sorbet and it brought back memories of Italy. Staff was super friendly.

The menu was quite limited and the service was slow too. They charged a lot for a simply avacado toast which was not filling nor different. Have tried avacado toast from other places and one is very filling. Here the portion was quite small.

I love Little River! They have tons of breakfast and lunch options suitable for all dietary needs and great coffee right by the river. The prices are really reasonable.

I loved this place pre-pandemic went there 2/3 times a week as I live nearby. I had been monitoring their reopening in anticipation, I called them several times asking about reopening. Tonight was my first return and my last. Seriously not returning. Slow, bad communication, ok food. Really disliked tonight’s staff. I won’t give you another dollar... but I will give you the bird, EVERYTIME I eat at one of the neighboring restaurants.

Space: great location. You get a clear view of the marina and river. You can see paddlers, boats, and the Portland signature Dragon Boats. You can espicially see them in the spring and summer. The interior space is welcoming and calm with large windows to see the river.Service: staff is always very friendly and niceFood: good variety of foods but the quality of the food is average.

My first time going there, I ordered a Everything Bagel Sandwich with egg and bacon. The lady who took our order was very kind and patient with us, and the outdoor seating area was super nice with the view of the bridges and boats passing by. As for my Bagel Sandwich, my goodness it was so delicious!! . It was served warm and everything tasted fresh, the bacon was extremely crunchy which was a big bonus for me :) 🥓. I promise you won’t be disappointed in taking the time to check out this cafe. Another good thing about this cafe is that it has plenty of options to choose from, whether you are ordering breakfast or lunch or both. For those who are going during QUARANTINE like me, the servers did a well job at making me feel safe but also making me feel welcomed. After each meal, the servers would sanitize/wipe down each table after each person finished their meal.

Order the Willamette breakfast...the fresh veggies are delicious! They even have almond milk, but its behind the counter. You just have to ask one of the friendly staff to hand it to you. Highly doubtful, but If Im ever in Portland again, I would return.

Stopped for breakfast to find the grill was broken so no hot options. Had to settle for coffee which was good and the staff was friendly. Strange layout choice with a long hallway by the counter and seating to the side. Location is great, unfortunately didnt get to taste the food.

Had sandwiches with my mum here. Great location right on the waterfront marina. Grilled sandwiches were lightly grilled. Sandwiches should come with a side dish included. Outside tables and inside seating too. Overall pretty good.

Indeed an award winner coffee. We had Caffe Latte. The ice creams are also really good. I recommend Chocolate Brownie Thunder and Espresso Madness, in waffle cone. Enjoy your meals on the river front.

Everyone is friendly and the ice creams are delicious, although they sell out of most ice cream flavors by the time we get there, so expect a limited amount of options. Other than that, its a great place.

Great view of the river and location generally, especially if youre already in the neighborhood. Good ambiance. Food was pretty mild and boring. Coffee was fine. Staff engagement was meh -- definitely couldve been more invested.

I got an omelette with goat cheese spinach and bacon and it was wonderful. Generous portions and good prices. They have outside seating on the waterfront thats really nice.

I love this space, the location and the coffee. I would *love* it if I and my Vegan friends could get ice cream here on hot days. There was only one vegan option, and not that great. Id love coconut based ice cream and a couple more flavors.

Here today at about noon. Service is awkward and unwelcoming by the taller blonde girl. Very awkward to even order a coffee with her. There is no explanation on how to order or be sat during covid. Wouldn’t care to come back French toast was good. The other two meals the quinoa bowl and breakfast platter sub par.

Super cute location. The food was fine, nothing to write home about. Everyone seemed really nice. Just a little disappointed that ordering a Chai apparently means Chai latte. If I get quinoa with almond milk, doesnt it seem strange to order a latte that has milk in it? I should have said something in retrospect but I didnt want to be difficult. Oh well.

Great view. Simple food that is tasty. It seems there are.often a lot of paddlers around but in between this place can be quite mellow. A great place for a meal or coffee by the river (and ice cream as well).

Great location. Coffee is pretty good. The kitchen ventilation is inadequate, so instead of fresh air by the river, you smell oil/bacon the whole time. Some may like that. But for me, regrettably, thats a downside for a place with more potential. Not sure Ill go back anytime soon.

We stopped off in Portland on our road trip early August.Food was really nice. Had a lovely chat to one of the staff ( Wild Child tattoo). Great view whilst eating. Next time we are in Portland we would come back to Little River Cafe.

Friendly and casual little place where you can order from the board or menu any of a generous number of well crafted and delectable salads, wraps, sandwiches, soups, burgers and even quiche. The vegetarians and gluten free among us were equally pleased, and the prices were very reasonable. Located on a lovely pedestrian walkway that borders a beautiful stretch of the Willamette River, we could not have found a more perfect spot to gather with family for a good meal!

Friendly staff and good food. I had a chef salad, which satisfied well enough (hard to screw up a salad with dressing in the side), and my friend had a sandwich and said it was very tasty. Love the fact that house coffee was refillable.

We love the breakfast here. Come once a year on our Christmas Ship. Appreciate having such a great place so near to the marina.

The espresso drinks are among the best in Portland and all of the food is high quality, healthy, at a fairly reasonable price. Order at the counter style dining, food is brought to you, and you should bus your own table. Cleanliness was a little lacking (I had to wipe off my own table before sitting) but that is to be expected. Staff are friendly and helpful. Expect great cafe staples, along with some PNW twists.

Yummy breakfast/lunch place on the river in Portland. They have great sandwiches for lunch and good breakfast food. Dont forget the ice cream.

Overpriced. The greens were brown and limp. I could have overlooked all of that except the man made me put on a mask to order from outside, and thirty seconds later took an order from a very dirty (possibly homeless) man wearing no mask and didnt even have his pants on all the way.

Super friendly service and healthy menu options in addition to some classics! Sandwiches, wraps, salads, warm quinoa bowls, hamburgers and a large amount of breakfast items are all on the menu. Breakfast is served until 1:00 pm. They also have an ice cream counter. Order at the counter and they bring the food out. Situated with a beautiful view of the Willamette river and the various bridges. I had the club sandwich, while my wife enjoyed the Bridge bowl. We would definitely eat here again.

The staff here are amazing. I got a sandwich for a late lunch and despite being a mostly self-serve sort of restaurant, the employee brought my friend and I water to have with our meals. The locations is also killer. My only complaint would be that the bread on the sandwich didnt feel super fresh.

I have breakfast here every Saturday afternoon dragon boat practice. The service is super friendly and the food and lattes are delicious. I love the breakfast bagel sandwich (no cheese, add bacon and avocado).

Good food, real quick service and nice area to eat outside so you can enjoy the riverfront.

That is the worst example of food i have ever seen. The staff was worse than the food. The food was horrible. I would suspect not safe. It was that bad. Then to make it worse the staff seriously didnt care at all. I still never recommend or do business with this place again. Im concerned that they are open and sell food. Its not safe. Raw burger. And i dont mean undercooked, i mean raw. Tina melt with no thumb tuna or cheese and un toasted bread. So yes, two pieces of stale old bread with some kind of goo between. It wasnt tuna. Not sure what it was. The worst food experience i have ever had!!!

Nice informal place on the waterfront. Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Food is reasonably priced. We came here twice while staying the weekend at the Residence Inn. Very satisfying.

My family and I came in during a slow period, with only one other customer. The food arrived quickly, but our reactions to it were mixed. I had a decent turkey sandwich: fresh and crisp, but they forgot to add cheese and there was so little mayo that the sandwich was a little dry. On the other hand, my dad--who is pretty hard to impress--absolutely raved about the quiche.Not a stellar experience, but good enough that well be back to try their breakfast!

Very good selections of sandwiches. Fruit jelly on the sandwiches is a nice touch. Very nice view of the river. My only complaint is the fume from the kitchen. It makes the dinning experience a bit on the unpleasant side. It stuck on my cloth for the entire afternoon. Otherwise, I would give 4 stars.

Went for breakfast right on11am, bad luck.ordered a sandwich and got a wrap. Ordered qiuche and salad, quiche was warmed up from dont know when and salad looked like it had been warmed up too. Attendant was arrogant when I questioned my order so I ate what I could of it. Restroom was a disgrace. Only reason I gave 1 star was coffee was nice, even though the cup of tea my wife had was in a not so well washed cup.

Went with my brother and niece for brunch. They had run out of the YamNEggs so I quickly ordered the Egg and quinoa wrap. Bad choice. Presentation? Blob on a plate. Eggs? Scrambled cold. Cheese? Couldnt find any. Quinoa? Loads of tasteless red mass jammed into the tortilla. Spinach? Small wet mass in corner. Even loads of hot sauce failed to save it.Admittedly very disappointed. Nothing like the beautifully plated dishes on the website.

This is a cute spot that I like to stop by while around the southwest waterfront area. Its a convenient stop for coffee, a smoothie or a bite while youre around the marina. The coffee is good and there a lot of healthy food options.
