I was an EMS customer for 10+ years. Recently I purchased a small tent at Princeton EMS for the upcoming camping trip. Before going to the trip I decided to set it up on my backyard. While setting it up I found a hole on the internal tent wall, It was obviously a manufacturing defect. When I brought the tent back to the store for exchange or refund I was told by EMS associate, Rhajon Venable, that EMS does not issue credit card refunds anymore. When I claimed that it was a defective item, he opened it and said it was damaged by me, because I had set it up. When I said that they must trust their customers, Rhajon told me that he trusts no one. Finally, he rejected taking the tent back even for store credit. Unbelievable! I never expected such a rudeness in this store before. That could never happen in places like REI, or any other outdoor store.Needless to say that I will never step inside any EMS store again. I filed a claim to the credit card and a complaint to the BBB.

Great merchandise at a reasonable price. Lots of stuff that is hard to find anywhere else. Membership club that gives discounts for certain amounts spent. Friendly staff. Overall great place.

What can I say - I love EMS. Cant try things on in the store cuz covid. Not their fault but still a PITA.

Salespeople were nice but i couldnt buy anything. Every shoe I asked for they didnt have my size. I felt bad sending them to the stock room so much but I want getting any. I shouldve just said bring out whatever you find in my size. The shirts I wanted werent in my size for any colors except black or white. Even the mens boots were not to be found. I was getting very frustrated & disappointed. Maybe REI down the road will be better.

I bought a pair of Asolo boots at EMS in Jan 2020, the 6th pair my family has bought from EMS. All the previous boots have been great. I used the new boots only for hiking, nothing crazy. By November multiple seams had started to split. As per the Asolo website, the boots were still covered by the 2 year warranty so we took them back to EMS. They refused to honor the warranty and told us we have to deal with Asolo ourselves. Won’t be shopping here ever again (why did I ever shop here? REI is just down the road and they have a great warranty on boots!). Lesson learned.

This place is great. Please dont listen to the entitled Karen below that is complaining about stuff during a pandemic. They are super helpful and always seem pretty excited to talk about hiking and what not. Also offer a military discount which REI does not which is great. I have saved a lot of money buying from here.

I cannot express how thankful I am to Trevor for helping me secure a replacement sternum strap for my daughters backpack. He truly truly went out of his way to find a replacement. I called the 888 customer service and did not try at all to help. I decided to call the Princeton store and luckily for me Trevor answered. This is what customer service is all about. Thanks once again. Wish I lived closer to Princeton, this would be my store of choice.

EMS is my go to store for outdoor clothing and camping gear. I can usually find exactly what Im after. The store is modern and well laid out, the staff are friendly, and its well stocked.Wouldnt hesitate to recommend highly.
