Super cute place and very nice staff. Theyre a non-profit that helps those who cant afford it get some wheels, as well as refurbishing bikes to sell at a lower price. I went in looking for a bike I could use to get to work and around campus; they helped me pick out a really comfortable bike for $290. Glad I checked it out!
So, this place is so legit and wholesome. Theyre a nonprofit who take donated bikes, fix them up and then give them away to kids and economically disadvantaged folks. They provide transportation to people who need it, but cant afford it.Also, they have amazing volunteer opportunities. You can go help fix up bikes and theyll teach you how to use the tools and maintain the bikes. They also sell some of the bikes to pay the rent and keep the lights on.But wait, theres more! They also help you fix your own bike. It just keeps getting better!I was impressed at how well run it was and how enthusiastic and dedicated the volunteers were.If you need a bike, check this place out. If youre looking for a great service opportunity, check this place out. If you want to learn how to work on bikes, CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!
Amazing customer service. I’m new to biking, Sam helped answer my endless amount of questions and gave some amazing advice on what I do and don’t need, he also made sure I wasn’t breaking the bank with my insane amount of repairs.Prices are amazing. Sending my friends here.
Aside from my awesome new (oldie) turquoise bike, the people that work here are genuinely kind. I’m a big fan.
Kind helpful peeps going about a noble cause! Anyone have any old bikes should donate them here and it will help put bikes in the hands of those that need them. Keep up the awesome work guys!
Great place to donate a bike, or buy a bike, and meet some cool people who will teach you how to fix your bicycle so that youll feel confident riding it more. The Provo Bicycle Collective is an amazing nonprofit organization supporting our community and getting people back on their feet by helping them get to a job or just riding for fun or health, and letting the wind blow through their hair. Check out their new, larger space!
Some artists work in oil, others prefer clay or stone... Sam excels when working with the mediums of cable tension and derailleur hanger alignment. He is a master in our midst! Thanks Sam!
Very nice and helpful staff
Fantastic price and fast, friendly service
Great staff, great operation.
The collective is a truly incredible place. The staff is kind and knowledgeable, and every dollar you spend goes to helping at-risk and low-income individuals in the community. Thanks for the great work, team.I notice a couple people complaining about the fact that the open shoo is closed, and you cannot buy tubes. Unfortunately, there is a global pandemic going on, and tubes are completely out of stock on all distributor websites. Rationing is how we have to deal for the moment. While open shop is a fantastic program, there is no feasible way to do it in a safe and distanced way in our limited space and shared tools.Hopefully we will be back in full business for 2021.
Excellent service for random used bike parts at a very affordable price.
Went in hoping to find a kids bike of higher quality than the junk at Walmart. I found an extremely good reputable name brand bike in the exact size I was looking for. Although it was used (as all their bikes are) it was still in very good condition and I got it for a tiny fraction of the price I would have paid in a bike shop. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even fitted a kickstand to the bike. I will definitely be coming back for all my bicycle needs!
Very nice people. Fixed my bike up nicely, quite quickly, and at a good price
Whenever i go they are never open amd whenever i call it says hello we arent available now during business hours i was impressed my first time i went they fixed my bike but since then they are hardly worth going to anymore
I had no idea what I was doing going into It, walking out I felt much more confident. I was given enough instruction to fix my two bikes on my own. Fantastic environment.
This place is so awesome. I came in with little to no knowledge on bikes but I needed one to get around. Jamison was very helpful and patient with me. He also helped me get an awesome deal on everything I bought. This is a great place to get a bike I highly recommend it.
This is a great place.
The Provo Bike Collective is incredible. Not only do they help you actually learn to independently fix and care for your bike, but they have very affordable bike parts. In just half an hour I fixed my tube and breaks, and they even showed me how to tune-up my gears and take care of my chain. Amazing organization.
I came in today to fix my bent wheel. They were helpful, offered tips, and had all the tools needed. It costed $14 for an hour of shop time and a new kickstand. This is a great place and I would highly recommend it.Thank you again
We love Provo Bicycle collective. They are knowledgeable and love to help. We love seeing all the good they do in the community.
I was so happy to discover this place. My fourteen-year-old son was able to do the bike repair at a fraction of the cost. They taught him how to fix the bike and he learned some new skills. The price came to $10, where the quote from another bike shop was $50.
No better place to buy a bike! They salvage old used bicycles and help you learn maintenance and repair as you get it back into shape. They have all the tools youd ever need and space for you to work in at an hourly fee. There is also a class for kids under 16 where they learn bicycle safety and maintenance and earn their own bike!
Great community shop. Become a member, enjoy access to tools and mechanics help. Sometimes youll find a vintage gem. Great place to buy inexpensive bikes for kids. Donate your old bikes too
Kai was so helpful to me and my brother, who needed a flashing tail light. Kai had one, sold it at a more than fair and reasonable price and we were on our way. We will be coming back to Provo Bicycle Collective. Thank you so much for your stellar service and kindness and help. It is so refreshing to be treated so well!!! A thousand thanks!
The Bicycle Collective is one of my favorite things about Provo. You cant get your bike repaired here, but you can repair it yourself, and if you dont know how, someone will show you. This means that you get your bike fixed faster and cheaper, and you learn something in the process. Austin and Kai are both great guys and will help you with any bike problems you have.
I love the Provo Bicycle Collective. Everybody there is so kind and helpful, even when you have no idea how your bike works. I have learned so much already from fixing up an old mountain bike I had. The prices are very affordable, and the added knowledge from working on your bike is awesome! Also a great place to buy a bike or get involved as a volunteer. I feel the Bicycle Collective is a valuable part of the Provo community.
A rep from the Bicycle Collective came and talked to my work about what they do. Theyre a non-profit working to get bikes into peoples hands who couldnt afford one.The part I was most interested in though is the bike shop aspect. The concept is this.....you pay a low rate to have someone help and show you how to work on your bike. This is a great concept for me as I love working on my bike. Something that videos and articles cant replace is showing you how to do the work on YOUR bike, which may have its own intricacies. I went to the Provo location and Kai helped me out. In a half hour, he showed me things about my bike that I didnt know as well as validating work that I had done myself. It was a very positive experience, and I came out feeling more confident about my own work.I would definitely recommend this place for those that want cheap access to tools and expertise. I will be coming back, and I plan on volunteering as well.
I love the Bicycle Collective Organization. It is such a blessing to college students like myself, to whom biking is an important way to save money and stay fit. It can be challenging to keep a bike in good condition when you dont have access to your parents garage anymore, the bike collective provides a place to use tools and get supplies at wonderful prices. Also the employees there are always the best.
The staff are very helpful and as a whole are focused on helping the community.
As a DIY kinda guy, having a membership to the bike collective is probably the smartest investment I made all year! If you like bikes and like to tinker like I do, do the smart thing and become a member! Helpful staff, laid back environment, I love it!
Had a really good experience. Jordan and his co-worker were great. Very kind, very helpful. I needed to tune up the bike but couldnt afford to take it to the other bike shops close by. I also learned several things that were helpful. Definitely recommend the Provo Bicycle Collective.
Great service, awesome employees, and easy experience. Worked with a worker named Sam and he was helpful and informative. If you need a cheap and sturdy bike, I recommend this place.
Im so glad this place is in my neighborhood. I bought my bike from them and have been back a couple times to get help with stuff that was beyond my skill set. The folks in there have been kind, helpful and informative, every time. I always leave feeling like Im more empowered to learn and solve my own problems. Spend your money here!
Seriously, this is one the greatest none profits around Provo. They focus on empowering individuals in need as well as volunteers. They are definitely a start up when it comes to non profit but theyve built quite the organization thus far. Also, I LOVE their activities and volunteer experiences. Check out their Facebook page and give em a follow to stay updated.
Very helpful staff. I needed help getting an old bike fixed and ready to go and they taught me how to do it. I was uncertain at first but Im much more confident now and can do my own maintenance and repairs. This place has a good mission and a good cause.
A wonderful community resource for everyone! This is the best place to go to fix your bike, get really good deals, and give back to society. I love how all skill levels are welcomed here.
1) I love the volunteer work they provide and I think its incredible what they do for those who need but cant afford a bike. Their system for volunteer work is simple and fun.2) I love how they help me learn the skills necessary to fix a bike so I can do it on my own at some point.3) The mechanics are friendly and very helpful.4) Its not a bad price for the time needed to repair a bike.5) I bought an amazing bike for cheap here. I use it everyday. Great use of my money.6) I like what they stand for and what their goals are to benefit the community.7) Provo needs the PBC because it promotes personal and environmental health, charity, skill-learning, and happiness.
The best place to buy a bike in Provo. They have an awesome staff and awesome programs. After someone hit my bike while I was riding it I took it straight to the collective and Kai helped me fix it up right then and it was a great experience after a traumatic day. I love everything about the bike collective!!! They help the homeless and low income! They teach people how to fix their own bikes!
Extremely helpful service, we were able to find exactly what we needed in very little time. We are excited about the 30 day warrantee as well as being able to come back and learn how to fix our new bike ourselves.
In my opinion, this is one of the coolest spots in Provo. A real community center, not to mention the amazing service they give fixing and providing low cost bikes to kids and adults alike! An inspiring non-profit. Best way to get your bike repaired.
I had a great experience here. Im waiting for a bike to break down so I can come back. Jamie was very helpful and I also saved quite a bit of money on a relatively small repair. Definitely coming back!
Ive had good experiences with this place. Ive had my bike for four years and when things start falling apart I always come here. The mechanics are very knowledgeable and friendly and are great at helping me find a fix. They invite people to come in on Tuesdays and Thursday to help fix bikes, which is great if you enjoy hands-on, technical labor. Just make sure you contact them and sign up for an orientation at the shop first!I would totally recommend coming here. Its one of my my favorite places in Provo. They have been renovating the shop lately with a new format and lighting, so its a neat place to visit right now.
Great service! Love the way you get to learn how to solve your own problems for the future. Staff is friendly and patient with you even if you have no idea what you are doing. All for a really fair price!
Went in and they helped me fix up my bike! Super helpful people, Kai was really patient even though I was really slow. Only $5/half hour for helping me with fixing everything. Definitely recommend, great people, great shop!
Great help, great prices, and you learn how to fix your own bike. They have all the parts and tools you need to do it to. Great place!
Highly recommended! A bunch of great, helpful people who love bikes! My new 1st stop for bike maintenence and repair. They enable you to do it yourself! Wish I could give it more stars!I fixed up a bike with my son here. They sell used and new parts which made it so much more affordable! They also gave us as much help as we wanted while giving us space to learn and work. Since they had all the parts and tools right there it saved us a few trips to the store as we discovered more broken parts.
Well, its a co-op. For those that dont know what that is, its where they instruct you so you can do it on your own. You never realize how much detail something involves until you have to do it yourself. Hands down the best bike shop around!! Imo every bike shop should operate as this one does.... Remember the 90s? Grunge was trendsetting, as Bicycle Collective is to bike shops. Well done Ladies and Gentlemen!
We live just across the street and we are so glad they have moved here. Last week we took the kids to the pool on our bikes and our neighbor was saying how great a job they did fixing her bike. I love them because my 9 year old LOVES their bike workshop classes where he can earn a bike.I love them because they are a great addition to the neighborhood and I love how their clientele all ride bikes!
Such a great bike shop. If you have an older bike you need to fix up this is the place to go. My wifeski has an old road bike that was needing some love, but I couldnt find the right parts to fix it at any other shop in Provo. Kai (super nice guy) helped me find the right parts and fix it up in the shop. Very impressed with Provo Bicycle Collective.
Im so sad you guys are closed for the moment, what a great place to get quality help for bikes :)
Great place to pick up used (but still good condition) and inexpensive bike parts, they have everything you need. Also a great place to volunteer! Very friendly and approachable employees. 10/10
Very reliable refurbished bikes at low cost. $100-200 dollars gets you a great ride that will last years (NOT Walmart bikes). Ive purchased 5 bikes here so far for myself and family/friends and have never been disappointed.$10/hr to use the shop is a steal, considering that you can tune up your bike in 1hr and most shops charge $40-60 to do it for you.
Provo Bicycle Collective is an amazing shop. Not only do they donate tons of bikes to the community, but they also teach and help people who come to the store. Either come to fix your own bike or fix bikes for those in need.
So happy to found this place. Great place and amazing people.... pedals 2 the people!!
I love the idea of this place. $10/hour will get you access to the workshop to fix your bike. Maybe thats a bit steep if youre doing everything yourself anyway but they have volunteers available to help you. Unfortunately there are usually more customers than volunteers though so you have to wait if you have a question. Its a bit gross and messy compared to other bike shops too.
This place is great!!! The employees are very helpful. I went there to change the tires on my bike and they guided me the whole time. I love the good vibes and how they will try to do everything they can to make sure you get what you need. This place is a most visit! I live downtown Salt Lake City but I rather drive there. The experience in SLC wasn’t good the staff is lazy and they don’t care about customer service. In Provo you get all you need and you enjoy working on your bike rather than feeling like they want you to get the hell out.
Excellent community resource. I have bought five refurbished bikes from the collective, all in excellent condition. They staff has helped me in the past learn how to do some of my own repairs. They give a lot back to the community through education programs and their earn-a-bike programs, and giveaways to those that need bikes most.
The bike collective has helped me fix my bike every time Ive gone in, and theyve been friendly and helpful in teaching me how to do it myself. When my bike was stolen and then mysteriously donated to the bike collective from the police station, I claimed it again with the serial number and the collective returned it to me for free, because they are just good people doing good things for our community.
They have a great selection of used bike parts to pick from.Their staff is helpful and I was able to replace parts for my older mountain bike that i use for commuting. There new location is much larger now, so they have a lot more area to work on your bike if you need to rent their tools.
The Provo Bike Collective is a great place to go if you are looking for a good refurbished bike. Theyll also teach you how to fix and maintain your bike. The volunteers are very helpful and friendly. Bike on over sometime!
Great people, great atmosphere, employees are EXTREMELY polite and helpful, and the program is lots of fun. On top of all that, they are a great cause and charity. Stop in just to check it out 👍👍👍
They are a good bike shop, but the bike I bought from them had a lot of problems. The day after I bought it, the front tire went completely, unrideably flat and I had to replace both it and the wheel, which was deeply and unsafely grooved. The back tire was also flat to start with. Even after taking it to another shop to be tuned up and greasing the chain, the gears do not work properly. They grind about half the time when changing gears and will not change into the largest front gear at all. They are a friendly and helpful nonprofit and bike shop, but be careful when buying a bike from them.
This place is amazing! The parts are dirt cheap, and the have all the tools you need to do anything you want
I got a bike there and have been riding it to school everyday. Its also a great place to fix your own bike. You can use their tools, and theyll help you. They also sell second-hand parts very cheap.
What a cool idea! This is great for a place like Provo where students come and go and leave their bikes here... Great opportunity for community involvement and great opportunity to find mildly used bike parts at a great price!
Great value bikes although I did not buy one here, I wish I had. Friendly staff.
I volunteered here and learned an incredible amount in just 2 months (5 hours per week). The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and geeky about bikes. There were usually a lot of volunteers but they managed to get around to your concerns pretty quickly. They also had doughnuts and cookies on hand every shift. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn about bikes or is looking to buy a reasonably priced used bike. Lotta love for this place.
This place is amazing. They teach you how to fix bikes and they help you a lot :)
We have purchased 2 bikes for our kids, and it was great being able to buy a used bike with the confidence someone had looked it over and repaired it before I bought it.Great friendly staff who care about bikes and about the community. We havent used their classes or had them teach us about repairing bikes yet, but we plan to in the future.
Sam the man helped me again. Best bike shop in town.
Excellent shop. Sam anwered all my questions and was very helpful.
Great place to Volunteer, Learn how to repair bicycles, and an affordable place to buy a bike, buy parts, or get something fixed.
Helped my kids get amazing bikes kind knowledgeable staff, great program for the community
A great, very chill place to work on bikes. I love to come here.
Good concept, honest business.
Volunteered on womens night and felt so welcome. This place has such a great vibe!!!
The Provo Bicycle Collective is a fantastic place to learn bike mechanic skills and give back to the community in a fun, uplifting way. Drop in to see how you can help make a difference.
Super cool that they give bikes away to kids! Fun building and the people working there were helpful.
These guys are the worst after so many hours of volunteer that I have put with them I come in to just ask for help once on my bike and they deny me the help of fixing one tire in a moment of need. They are true hypocrites.
Awesome organization. Its cool to learn how to fix bikes because I love riding them so much!
Really friendly employees. Inexpensive parts. Close to BYU. 10/10
Awesome staff! Its a great place to get involved with the community and learn about all things biking.
Amazing place to fix a bike. I try to recommend it to everyone I know.
Saw that you were giving away a surplus of kids bikes for free. Great organization by my book.
I was really excited about the concept of this shop. I would love to have had someone walk me though how to fix my bike, as opposed to just doing it themselves and charging like crazy. But Ive been in several times over the past few weeks and decided that this place is really only good if you already know exactly how to fix your bike. I went in to rent a table and do a simple tune up and found that asking them questions was like pulling teeth. I would ask something and the employees would either stare at me as if I wasnt speaking English, or give me an unhelpful half sentence reply then hop off to whatever project theyre working on. I ended up spending $30 and three hours in their garage trying to get someones attention. Then I finally took my bike down and walked it home (even though it was rideable when I brought it in) then went to Mad Dogs, where they actually fixed it up.They do sell good refurbished bikes at a good price, but If you dont know anything about fixing bikes, and are looking for someone to walk you though it step by step, thats not what I got here. Just go to one of the mainstream bike shops. You wont learn anything, but at least you will have a working bike.
Great service. Great concept. Good job guys.
I had them help me fix my bike and they were very helpful in teaching me how to do it myself.
Knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated to biking and to providing necessary tools and knowledge to the community at any level of biking prowess.
Cheapest place to buy and fix bikes. plus they help you fix the bike and you can use all their tools.
Super cool staff, always so happy to walk me through even the simplest of bike repairs.
These guys are very helpful and a great resource to our community.
Kind and a nice place to work on your bike
Coolest place! You can serve there for half an hour or an hour to earn points for fixing your own bike.
We have visited several times and gotten good help, plus telling a neighbor to donate a bike or two, ASAP.PLEASE NOTE:The Collective website editor needs to put E. after 397 (397 E. ) and then the 200 N. coordinate on ALL your postings, and of course include the entire address as Provo, UT and zip code. Some cyclists just might MAIL you a financial donation, ta-da! This would be especially helpful for out of towners needing assistance in case of emergency or loneliness! And of course, put your phone number and hours of being open. Thanks to all of you,Linda and Rob Brigance, age, almost 70, and still healthy cycling. One of you may recall that we rode together from Pueblo, CO to Jacksonville, FL a few yrs. ago, ta-da!P.S. We spin cycle at Springvilles new Rec. Ctr. (live nearby) and at the Provo Rec. Center*There is also the mostly flat, asphalt path, approx 10 miles round trip, in Mapleton, UT.Coordinates are: 1600 N. 1150 E. or you can ride from the relatively new Bartholomew Park in Sringvilleoff a short distance from Hobble Creek Road: 1032 N. 1900 E.This would be good information for folks moving or visiting here when they look at your site. You might even request that donors mail or give financial help to the Collective, ta-da!
