Very helpful and knowledgeable no problem with tool rentals or parts or alternative parts. Do not go to auto zone in Putnam ct. Try these guys first auto zone sold me the wrong parts and wouldnt take them back also with tools. No knowledgeable people.

I purchased a CV Axle assembly for $101.99 on 3/11/21I came in to return the item and it has never been used, I have the receipt and its not an electronic item, and was denied my money back because theres only a 30 day return policy. Ive been using advance for years, so when I was informed to call the manager in the morning so she could over ride the return I did. She told me the fallowing day that it was months ago and thats a dated purchase. I wasnt feeling very satisfied as a repeat customer at all. They could have taken the return, its an axel not a blinker light.
Had purchased a motor mount for a for Taurus. Well the customer never showed so I figured I would just return it and get my money back. I had lost the receipt. When I got to the store I stated I didnt have the receipt. Now I have had this issue in the past and was able to return the part when the employee looked up under my phone number. Well the reason I was given this time as to why they would not accept the return was because I had no receipt. This makes absolutely no sense! It shows on the computer screen I had made the purchase. U was told the reason they ask for the phone number is for the warranty, not for returns! Whaaat?!! Well its defective then and Id like to use the warranty no. Against company policies. Over the years, Im a auto technician by trade and have been for 25 years plus. I have spent thousands of dollars at mainly the Putnam CT store but also Brooklyn CT and Webster Massachusetts. You would think there would be some kind of loyalty program for us to hs that do alot of business with Advanced Auto. The part cost 36.99. I was told, we cant take it back due to it being against company policies. Im writing this because I have never had this issue before. Why this time is it not allowed. Thats my rant. Yes, because of this one incident I will no longer be doing any business with Advanced Auto parts at any location. I realize this issue more than likely will not matter to this multi billion dollar corporation but it should. Long time customer signing out.

Decent help, decents parts and a good selection of basics . If you need it NOW this is a good choice, if you can wait, better prices are out there BIG TIMEI literally save over two hundred bucks ordering my alternator and battery for my Ford Expidition and they both came inside 48 hours .

I purchased an alternater for my murano, 3 months later the advance Auto parts alternator died on me, its a 3 1/2 hr job, it cost me $350 for installation, they would reimburse me for the junk they sold me. They another junk alternator instead, would you spend $350 to put their junk in. I will never purchase anything from advance Auto parts.

They did not offer assistance, but stood around chatting behind the counter.They had inadequate inventory of low cost items forcing me to buy more expensive alternatives.With so much competition in the area you would think service and selection would be a high priority to win market share.
Usually have the parts you need and a good amount of parts you dont. Tho selection is small and basic. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful.
Guy was helpful so helpful he sent me to another store stating that my part was there. Went to their brooklyn store to find out the part I needed wasnt even the correct one. Wasted my time ended up going to Napa. Maybe you should hire people with automotive experience not from McDonalds. Cant rate no stars dam it

The part that I needed was listed on their website as being in stock (12). I drove all the way there and the cashier said she had one, but it $27.00 (online site said $7.67). After waiting several minutes cashier came back and said she didnt have any!! Very frustrating!!

I buy a lot of stuff here. My biggest complaint is the wait time. There should be a line for people that are just grabbing a couple of items. You could stand in line for 15 minutes to get a quart of oil.
