I wish I could give 10 stars to this place because they deserve it!!I started shopping here in April of 2020 when the pandemic started escalating and food shortages occurred.Stop and Shop, which I was never fond of anyway, was empty-shelved and in shambles.Full disclosure: I would never have thought to shop at 99ranch because I am a Caucasian American and was concerned that I couldn’t identify the food or communicate with the staff. But…I live right next door and can walk over in 2 minutes, so I vowed to take a break from Stop and Shop and visit 99 ranch.Verdict: I will NEVER return to Stop and Shop.No need. I LOVE 99 Ranch!!!! Although I was a devoted Big Y fan, I can now say 99R is my new go-to!Here’s what a non-Asian can love:1) Incredibly fresh, expansive selection of “comfort” produce: greens, carrots, mushrooms, bananas, apples, oranges, berries.the usual staples. The BEST mushrooms I have ever purchased!!!!And I am a mushroom aficionado who is hard to please.Excellent prices!!!!!!!2) high quality eggs and cottage cheese….dirt cheap! I paid way more for cottage cheese and Greek yogurt at Stop and Shop.3) an improving selection of cleaning supplies and paper products. The only inventory drawbacks:1) Standard American canned staples like coffee and canned tuna are missing, but this is not a problem for me because I can get my coffee and tuna elsewhere.2) Health and beauty selection pales compared to stop and shop. Beauty products targeted toward Asian woman, which makes sense.3) They have a fresh fish counter, but I am hesitant to order unfamiliar fish. I can go to Burke’s! I don’t eat red meat or poultry, so I can’t attest to those product comparisons.4) Immaculately clean store!About the staff….yes, I had some awkward moments in the past year due to the language barrier, but a bilingual customer stepped in and translated. Also, some staff members speak more English than others…usually front-store supervisors. You just have to learn who is fluent and keep returning to them. That said, all staff is incredibly gracious and helpful!!!! The cashiers are quick, efficient, and ACCURATE!!!Give this place a try!! You may just get hooked.

The best customer service Ive had in an Asian Supermarket.I have shopped in many Asian supermarkets in Massachusetts, and never found any store with good service till I came in this supermarket. The staff was very polite and answered my questions, and helped me find the things I needed.Comparing to other Asian supermarkets, their restroom is the cleanest and the most well maintained Ive seen. The cashier even unpromptedly offered me senior discount and checked if I qualified (I didnt, but will soon).

This was my first time in here today.I knew exactly what I was there for and easily found it all.My issue was the meat counter.I stood there for a few mins waiting for one of the 3 people behind the counter to even acknowledge me.Finally I was waited on and the guy waiting on me didn’t understand English very well.He seemed to get frustrated with me.If it wasn’t for another customer that stepped in to translate what I was asking for I most likely wouldn’t of got the amount I wanted. So thanks to that man that was nice enough to help out.I really appreciated it🙂I will give the store another chance. They have some nice cuts of meat and the meat looks fresh and it’s a very organized store.I was satisfied with everything I bought today. The cashier and the woman bagging my groceries were friendly also.

THE WORST MEAT DEPARTMENT AT 99I have been shopping at 99 for more than a year and I found recently the customer services at the meat department was getting worse. I need to wait for a long time to have someone serve me even though no customer was in front of me. But the biggest issue is that they do not cut the meat for the customers! Last time I tried to buy one pound of barbecue pork and the guy suggested me to buy two pounds but I need to cut it at home myself. Today, I tried to buy one pound of barbecue pork again and asked the guy to cut it for me. He said he would not cut it and told me to buy the whole piece of the pork which is almost 3 pounds. This is outrageous, I never heard a meat department in the supermarket do not cut meat for their customers. This younger guy in the meat department is just lazy. I would not recommend the meat department in Ranch 99 to anyone.

My 1st time here, was completely out of my element as its mostly foreign items, Chinese? Went here to complete a shipt order, was able to find everything but 1 thing that was out of stock. But everything is clearly marked (aisles, prices, products), the employees were incredibly helpful and friendly. Prices were fair and reasonable. Added bonus is shipt does deliver from there!

Shopped at 99 before in CA, super excited about this new (opened over a year ago) store in Quincy. This is my new happy places: so many Asian goodies and seafood at very decent price!!It has a huge selection of EVERYTHING and some of the rare to find stuff. Staff are all very friendly as well.Only one downside: Quincy/ South shore 24x7 traffics for someone coming from north shore.

It is easy to get in but so hard to get out. Very long line both when check out and drive out of the plaza. If you buy over $50 today, you get a 5lbs rice bag. If you register the 99 + you club, you get 4 Want want yogurt drink.Vegetables are fresh and much more variety than other market in the area. Bakers corner and hot deli looks delicious. Ive just bought, still not try. Seafood looks fresh.Other products are similar with Hmart or Cmart but have some promotions for grand opening and for member.Overall it is a new experience for Quincy, just too busy for the first day. And it is Chinese friendly since some staffs only can speak Chinese.

After many years of seeing these supermarkets on the West Coast, am definitely glad to see them branch out with the first New England location in Quincy. As noted, this is in the former location of the Big Y supermarket and so if you have been here before, the layout is pretty much the same. The large selection of fresh produce along with hot eats, bakery, seafood and meat sections make this place an instant hit in this area. This is a highly welcome market that is clean and neat. You will feel welcome here when you walk in. Just like any supermarket, they have various promotions each week on a variety of products. If you plan on doing lots of shopping here, do suggest you follow them on social media and sign up for the rewards program. This place accepts mobile payments...which is a definite plus. There is a wonderful Mings seafood restaurant next door that offers dimsum. Many like to take advantage of a good meal and then grocery shop here.Come see and experience what 99Ranch is all about and see what they have in store.

Very congested area and long lines. Its also right next door to another asian supermarket, C Mart. Dont understand the need for another asian supermarket in the area, but im not from Quincy, so maybe that store gets too crowded also. I Only came for the taro bread, its amazing, only could get it in California. However, as mentioned in other reviews, they can be labeled wrong. I went grand opening day and luckily found a few left, and other bread that was clearly not taro bread was labeled as such. Also, a good amount of their carts were broken, I know this use to be a Big Y but dang 99 ranch market, buy some new working carts! Hopefully in a few weeks after opening theyll have everything together and the lines and the wait will be shorter.

Is was quite a nice store when it first opened, but it has since somewhat fallen in overall standards. I do appreciate the overall flow and organization of the store, and in particular I like very much that the produce, fish, and meats are labeled clearly for their country of origin. The shame is that they have picked up some bad habits like other Asian grocery stores we have stopped visiting for such practices-so we search on.

Market is big and food is fresh. But I was disappointed compared to its neighbor competitor C-Mart. Some things were conspicuously absent, such as fresh chili peppers. No longhorn, no red chili, no green chili. Some things were in odd places, such as the Laogangma spicy chili crisp (found at the front of the store and not in the aisle with the other Laogangma products). Perhaps the fresh chilis were hiding in an odd spot, too? 😁 Well be shopping here again for sure, and hopefully will find more things that were missing on our first visit.

This recently opened Asian market on Hancock Street in Quincy is large, well-stocked, clean and comprehensive. There is lots of parking. In addition to a varied selection of fruits and vegetables in good condition, 99 Ranch has a large bakery department, which Ive not seen in other Asian markets in the area. Lots of freshly baked desserts, plus a variety of family toast breads with sweet, savory and flour varieties. The prices are good, and the meat and fish departments look well- maintained. I saw shoppers from a number of countries there, and heard several non-Asian languages, indicating that this store is being visited by a wide range of customers.I will go back again, and I hope that 99 Ranch will stay as a tenant in this location.

Well this is definitely not the Big Y and thats totally fine! This is more of a get your last minute produce, meat, crab and or lobster, a some dairy items kind of place. There is not a lot of variety when comes to the typical American food. For example there is no cold cereal, peanut butter and jelly just to name a few so be mindful of that. They do have great produce, a bakery section, tofu, a wide variety of eggs, a lot of cows milk choices, soy milk and a small section of almond milk. They sell spices, dried foods, a small selection of frozen vegetables and fruits, a wide variety of frozen food items (e.g. dumplings and other Asian foods that I will definitely be trying out). There appeared to be a lot of space left in the store that I hope they fill up with more items. Excited to see what more is in store!

It is indeed a very clean and organized store. I appreciate the amount of space afforded to shoppers. The aisles are more wider than the Boston area Asian markets. Though in terms of selection and variety of items, this 99 Ranch has a serious problem compared to the next door C-Mart or nearby Kam Man. Examples would be the soft drink isle or instant noodles isle, these are sorely lacking. The bakery section and prepared foods section is top notch though. If 99 Ranch gets around to providing what other markets do and dont have, then I know this market will be one of the must visit destinations for shoppers.
