So glad we stopped at Boundary Oak Distilleryβ€” we wanted a Bourbon adventure and we got one!Cody was a very personable guide as he reviewed the history of the distillery and facilitated our tasting. His sense of humor and obvious interest in the topic made for great laughs and conversation. We enjoyed all of the tastings but particularly enjoyed the St. Luke lavender whiskey, My Old Kentucky Home, and Cinnful69. The Fall and Halloween decor was a true bonus! Well done! Definitely worth a stop 🍁🧑πŸ₯ƒ

All I can say is 10 out of 10 from the great staff great bourbon and history y’all are doing an amazing job and I can’t wait to come back in and see what new bourbon y’all have made!!!!

Distillery is a nice, clean and small business that has some great history within it. Worth the trip and a great way to spend a few hours. The tasting is great and very affordable ($10 and $9 for military). They do need to improve their theater. The sound isnt very good and the audio is hard to here. It also can get pretty warm in the building so be prepared for that. None the less, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products and history. Great experience.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

A awesome operation. The owners and staff are wonderful people. You start off with a very cool 15 video in the movie room. They have a portion of the Abe Lincoln tree there. BUYER BEWARE, While traveling thru the area we love to stop at local distilleries. We bought two bottles, two rock glasses, and a shirt. I washed the glasses in the sink before our first use and the label washed right off. I contacted them and they said they are not dishwasher safe. I never put them in the dishwasher. I tried contacting them again a few times with no reply. After spending over $140.00 plus tastings for two I would have hoped for more. BUYER BEWARE, not a reputable place. BTW I prefer the local distilleries and to support them.

Our family is travling the country. On our way to western Kentucky we popped off at Boundary Oak Distillery for the night through the Harvest Host program. Unfortunately we arrived too late to do a tasting but we did enjoy a tour the next morning. The parking space is nice with plenty of room. It’s a commercial lot so using the generator wasn’t a problem night. - @adventurtunityfamily

This is a craft distillery that we went out of our way to come to because the ratings were good. Had I not already done the bourbon trail and experienced the hospitality and thorough informational background gained during that last visit to Kentucky, I might be be inclined to have given a higher rating.During our visit here, our server was very nice though in afterthought, the experience felt rushed. We tasted 4 bourbons and 3 other spirits in all of 15 minutes. Bourbons were ok to good in our opinion, but not of the quality one might expect to pay $50-$100 for. The other 3 spirits were all interesting, but very sweet. If you like sweet mixers, then you would be happy with this.Based on the reviews, I may be missing something. I am a firm believer in giving the smaller businesses a chance and wish this business well. For those going here because of the reviews, I hope you find something more here than we did.

The future of Kentucky Bourbon is being written at Boundary Oak Distillery, today. If you are on I-65 and find yourself between Indianapolis and Bowling Green, you have to stop in and check out this hidden gym in Elizabethtown, KY. The variety of traditional bourbon and blended whiskey, among other available spirits, is a joy to take part in, as you learn about the unique history of this establishment, the importance of bourbon from its inception, and how it all came to be part of the Kentucky culture. The tasting at the end of the tour was a surprise, showcasing their best and brightest flavors that put a smile on our face, and gave us that warm Kentucky Hug. Of course it would not be possible without the friendly staff and those who take pride in their craft. Stop in, you wont be sorry.

Our first day on the Bourbon Trail was Boundary Oak Distillery (July 14,2020). It was a beautiful day and a delight. Tours are free. I love that they gave you a bottle of free hand sanitizer they made there! Love! The tour guides, Preston & Tonya, were very friendly and the movie was my favorite part of the tour. They give a military discount on Non Alcohol Products. The tasting was $8 but they let you sample everything they made in the distillery. Active duty military - free. 7 drinks for $8. This is a good deal. I sampled everything neat. The BADDapper Gin: ugh! The worst...I hated the gin and took only one sip. I hate wasting alcohol but I threw the rest away. It tasted like medicine- metallic and bitter. The SO-SO:BLACKHORSE 1901: So-So - Artwork on bottle impressive! So so - easily forgettable. It tasted ok. The artwork on the bottle made more of an impression. This 8-year, 80-proof, American Whiskey pays tribute to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment known as Blackhorse. The Blackhorse Association was founded in 1969 and incorporated a year later. Troopers of this regiment have bravely dedicated their lives to protecting Americas freedom and have served unswervingly in the Philippines, Cuba, Mexico, WWII, Vietnam, Border Legion, Iraq and NTC.Patton Armored Diesel:Strong Stuff - I loved the story! No bueno yet better than Dapper Gin. I drank all of it. It hits you hard. The story about it is better than the bourbon whiskey. One of the first armored officers of the United States Army, General G.S.Patton, Jr. is believed by many to be the father of modern armored warfare. He expressed his admiration for the armored division through acts meant to instill camaraderie and pride within the troops he commanded. One such act was the creation of a special drink for his beloved Armored Divisions called Armored Diesel.Lincoln Straight Bourbon - Very Strong! I loved the picture of Abraham Lincoln on it. It was too strong & intense for me though.Boundary Oak Distillery introduces its newest straight bourbon. This uncut bourbon is connected to the legendary, historic Abraham Lincoln - 16th President of the United States - who is well-known to Central Kentucky and well-respected by the nation and the world! This straight bourbon has been aging to its maturity in charred white oak barrels and is ready to be enjoyed responsibly. The BESTCinnful 69: My favorite and only $20. It was spicy yet sweet.A cinnamon whiskey it tasted like candy and was very easy to sip. I loved this drink more than the overpowering fireball. I imagined putting this in a hot apple cider or tea in winter. My Old Kentucky Home Bourbon Whiskey:Very smooth and easy to drink.St Luke: Sweet, pretty, and makes a nice Moscow Mule.A lavender bourbon drink: Beautiful bottle. Very sweet and feminine. It was inspired by 15th century European tradition in which young girls would drink a lavender tea and pray to St. Luke in hopes of receiving a dream revealing the identity of their true love. That legend is described on the bottles rear label. Its made from real lavender - a lavender tea thats then blended with bourbon and allowed to mingle for a few days in a traditional white oak barrel to create the 60 proof product. After its bottled, the lids and neck of the bottle will be sealed by dipping it in a lavender-colored wax.

Absolute DisappointmentTL;DR the venue is unorganized and unreliable when renting the space out for an event and will try to squeeze more money and try to cancel at the last minuteWe started speaking with the owner about renting the space for our rehearsal dinner in December. It took quite a bit of back and forth and ghosting us on their end (this should have been our red flag, but we persisted). Then they transitioned to a new event coordinator, that was lovely but kept receiving conflicting information from the owner Brent. First they said we could have bourbon tastings, then said we couldnt, then said we could. In the initial discussions the venue was ~$1500, then in July (6 months after our initially discussion!) they changed the amount to $2500. Next, they said we had to order alcohol through them (standard practice, thats fine) then one week before the event they come back and stated that they would buy the alcohol (that we chose already?) and charge us by the drink. There was quite a few other changes to our initial agreement - but these were big ones. Between the back and forth, lack of consistent communication and going back on agreements they offered to give us our deposit back 1 week before the event.Brent - this was a poorly managed experience and I hope future customers who want to host events here have a better experience. Your unprofessionalism is appalling. Thanks for leaving me high and dry one week before my wedding. We ended up with a much better venue and experience at a world renowned distillery for a better price.

Only at a select few distilleries can you expect to meet the owners and spend time learning about the history and why they do what they do. Even fewer distilleries let you try new things they havent even released to the public. This distillery is a small, family owned and run, operation in which they try to pay tribute to history and the military through special bottelings. Being a craft distillery, they also get to experiment with things youd never get to see out of a mass market distillery. Lavender whiskey and rum aged in tequilla barrels are just the tip of the iceberg. If youre into craft spirits and whiskey, you should pay them a visit. You never know what youll run into there.
