Let me just say that the delivery drivers for this company are top notch guys, but beyond that, I would not recommend their business. They do not return phone calls, they over charge on propane, and when you ask to speak with a manager, you end up getting a voicemail box. I do not trash companies online, but this company has caused my girlfriend and I a massive headache and that is why we have canceled out service with them.

We never have to worry about being out of fuel oil, they are on the ball with making sure that they are regular with delivery. But I wish that they were regular with sending my landlord BILLS they gave us the first bill (delivery for November) only. Where is the bills for the last three deliveries. My landlord will be calling you as to whats going on as she is a contract customer. This is not criticism because we are very happy with the service we just want our bills so we can pay them. Ive seen the owner comments to other coustomers, I would appreciate a comment from the owner as well.

Let me start by saying I totally understand why so many people are giving this company 1 star...we moved into our new house last winter, and Bernville/Eastern had been servicing this house for many years. after paying the outrageous prices they charged last winter, on average .80- 1.00/gal more than other companies, we decided to shop around. I called and asked Eastern what there price per gallon was if we would purchase our own tank from them. again almost 1.00/gal more than country side fuels for example. I was told by Eastern that was there special 1 time promotion and they probably have other hidden charges to balance it out. I confirmed this is NOT the case. thats how we left it, I never told them I was definitely switching, never canceled my account. that brings us to today..we got home from work and our tanks filled with propane we paid for are gone! no paper work saying who or why they took them. no heads up before hand nothing. I called pretty hit over the whole thing, got the after hours answering service, they put me through to someone after an hour waiting and I was told since I was shopping around they stopped delivery and sent someone to pick up my tanks. wow, you guys really know how to treat your customers. UNBELIEVABLE!

Beware. They were not supposed to deliver unless I called them; however, they came to my home and charged me $5.00/gal. I called and told them to come pick up their tank and switched to Countryside (ratings twice as good). Of course, they could not give me a date when they would pick up the tank, so someone would be at home when they came…they said they would call that day. They never called, and I came home to a mess in my drive way as they cleaned the tank off from snow and pine needles that the tank acquired until they finally picked it up…Class Act!

I was ready to be mad.....but how could I when they did everything I asked!!! EVERYTHING !!!!!!They mistakenly let my one tank run out of propane (no electronic reader on tank) which is use for the living room fireplace. Our home is totally electric so I rely heavily on the propane fireplace.This happened at night....a very cold night. I called the service they had a man call me ...he was rude...and told me $150.00 to deliver that night....he asked if I was a prepaid customer and my reply was yes !!! He said OH...I was upset and said some things....he didnt reply....he promised me a delivery first thing in the morning which I thought would be 7:00 am......NOT...…9:00 came and I called the office.....I was told it would be sometime in the morning.Well, again I was upset The girl I spoke to was very helpful and apologetic ….I thanked her for her help and told her I want to speak to the manager, he was busy but she said she would give him the message.About 10:30 I received a call from Mike (sorry forgot his last name) we had a very nice conversation and he agreed to my request.He was very understanding and very nice...not what I expected. We ended the conversation laughing and he said everything would be taken care of. The one tank I have is an older one, and will not accept the electronic device, so until they can update he is sending a truck every two weeks to avoid running out.I can say enough for Mikes customer service and follow thru.What started out as a problem was resolved quickly and made me very happy.I also want to thank Jennifer for outstanding customer service. In todays society there is no such thing as customer service.....this company has proven me wrong. There are still great people out there.Thank you so much Mike, Jennifer and Eastern propane for having such an awesome staff.Keep up the great work .Nancy FrancoLeesport, PA

Have had this company since 2005. Deliveries have been fairly regular. However this year the last delivery was in March. Have had none to date. Usually they show up in October. A call in November said near the end of the month. No show. Them in early December said two weeks. It is now the end of the year and no delivery. A neighbor was told sometime in January. .

From 2015 I had automatic delivery and is since this month I know I dont have again when I ran out of oil, they told me i am on cod and no one cannot tell me why i was taken off. Eventually I got a delivery they was no receipt left at my door. I am so disappointed in them.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! also have been with these companies as they changed so many times in 5 years but EASTERN propane has been the worst to deal with, fuel tickets left all over outside hardly ever found at the door, had to move my car several times bc driver didnt want to move the truck, had a hardship happen got nasty letters threatening to shut off and remove tanks. The list goes on and on.... do not get involved with this company!

I have to say they take care of my tank, I dont have to worry about running out of fuel. My landlord explained to me that I wont get a bill until I use a full tank of fuel oil. Thank you Eastern for keeping me warm.

I let my tank run out once because I wasnt watching the gauge. When the driver came and filled my tank and did a leak check. He was willing to answer question I had about my tank and helped my light the pilot on my water heater. Thanks again.

The absolute worst customer service I experienced with any company! They dont even pretend to care about their customers. They do not take care of the tanks and they have the highest most outrageous prices around. Do yourself a favor and do not start service with this company. I have been with them for over 10 years and wish I looked into changing sooner.

Ive used Bernville Fuels for 3 years. We tried 2 other companies to save money, at the going rate, came back each time. Customer service is prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. The drivers have always been nice and professional. We get propane and oil. Ill continue to use this Company, done with hit or miss quality and performance.Lori Haggerty

Terrible customer service.By no choice of my own my account had been acquired by Eastern Propane from Bernville Fuel which I suppose is no longer in business.Never received any information related to the change from either company. Strike 1. Recently received home heating oil from Eastern but there was no price per gallon on the ticket that was placed in the mail box. Needed to call and get the current price/gal so I knew what I was paying that day. How deceitful. Stirke 2. Although being on automatic delivery, today my propane tank has run completely out. Called Eastern propane around 1600 hrs to talk with someone but only made contact with the answering service. The answering service informed me that she would contact the on-call people and I would get a phone call, it is now 1650 hrs and still no phone call. Strike 3.

I have been dealing with this company since purchasing a home several years ago. It is not an owned tank so switching is an investment. I should have switched day one. This company and their profiteering ways is beyond frustrating. If you are a customer check competition. I pre buy around 400-500 gallons annually. Last year I priced around and found it almost $1.00 gal cheaper. I stayed a customer as they compromised when I complained. This year they say tough. It is what it is. Their prices are not even based off true cost or futures. @EasternPropane your company is poorly run and your service sucks!

I do not recommend Bernville Fuels (Eastern Propane) anymore. If you used Bernville Fuels I highly recommend switching to Countryside Fuels in Myerstown PA. They will get you your heating oil to you on time with no hassle, not nearly two weeks after you order fuel. Any automated/generic response to this comment will not fix the HORRIBLE customer service this company provides.

As for the installation of my underground tank the lead tech was great!As for the excavation it was horrible unprofessional let a mess in my yard and where the screening were dumped. I also had concerns for the employees in the hole no safety precautions were applied as stated by the salesman. I would not recommend them if they continue to use the same excavator!!!!!!!!!

Do not do business with this company. They charge double than other companies and do not work with you. Terrible service, and hate issuing refunds, will trump up a charge so you dont get it. Stay away from them!

Company delivery was great first 2 years we had them. Now this year I had to call twice for 1 delivery, almost ran out! Our neighbors have BQF also they get propane and BQF leaves. Commonsense would be if you deliver at one place why not do both together? No they come back a week or two later for me when Im all but out of porpane! I had to call today again, Im about 25% just filled the neighbors tank but not mine. I dont get it? Seriously considering changing companies.

First time delivery experience after being transferred from trexler Haines has not been a good one so far. Called bernville for propane delivery and their driver refused to fill my tank because of some dog dirt on access way to tank. Family had been sick and I work sun up to sundown and didnt have time to get the area cleaned up. Was planning to do so on weekend and of course they came the day before I had a chance to clean up. Anyway called again the following Monday and was told they would deliver that week again. Friday now and no delivery called the answering service and Im now waiting for a delivery at almost 8:30 pm. Not impressed with service as a new customer would like to go back to trexler

I am a new customer and was pleased with talking to their rep from the get go. He worked with me for when I had time off to be at the camper for my delivery. They were even early! So I could then go about my business not waiting around! Talked with others at the campground and they had no complaints either. Didnt give the fifth star because I am too new and no one company is perfect......As for the comment of being sold many times........banks do it all the time, my husbands company has been sold 5 xs in 20 years and he still gives the same 100 % service.......if you have poor credit, well, who now a days take a risk with you? No business I know of! Its not their fault you dont have great credit!

I wanted to find a carrier to provide heating oil. I filled out the information on the web and got a return call in a few days. The person I spoke with did not properly explain the plans available and when I asked a question he just repeated what he said before. The terminology was all new to me but when I explained that he again was short with me and just said the same thing all over again without proper information.I cannot understand his unwillingness to explain things properly. I have been in sales for many years and how you treat the customer and explain things is very important. I will not be using this company for anything and would recommend others avoid them as they do not have the right man in customer service and therefore I have to wonder about how they would treat someone if there ever was a problem. I have never written a review before and the only reason I am doing so now is I was honestly shocked at the poor treatment and lack of help I got from there customer service or sales man that called.

WOW - I was appalled to see their aggressive driver do this ... =(I called and the guy said there might be an ok reason to pass a school bus (with lights on) at a bus stop. (and that was not everything he did)Need I include - the driver got out of his truck, and i watched this strange guy approach a bus dropping of kindergarten students?Or that the tail end of the bus was in an intersection with a blind corner?Or that people usually FLY around that corner, even when the roads do not have snow on them?Really ... What was so important that a driver of a fuel truck could not wait, and what made him think it was ok to proceed into a blocked intersection with a blind corner to go around a school bus that had its blinking lights on ...Maybe it is because when I called the company - the top supervisor said well sometimes it is ok if the buses are stuck at a bus stop (even though he had personally gotten in trouble for it before.)Sorry but as a mother - that was NOT COOL.Thank God no-one did fly around that blind corner and hit a fuel truck that then hit a school bus full of kindergartners.May-be I am missing where safety is important when driving.Talk about aggressive drivers ...

Thus far, not impressed with their customer service. Sales have been unable to put verbal agreements in writing and have contradicted themselves on multiple occasions. The company seems disorganized and unprofessional.

I have been a customer for 18+ years in the last year I have run out of propane 2 times because they forgot to deliver it and they do not return calls promptly .I am getting feed up with this company.
