I was rear-ended and my bike rack destroyed while 1200 miles from home. Center Cycle staff found time on a busy day to put a new rack together and install it to get me back on the road. Couldnt ask for better service (and a nice rack too)!
Was seeking a basic tuneup and the pricing is just too high. Not only is the service description not stated in the website, the attendant simply wasnt capable of enumerating all service items for the fee. From the little info I got, it seemed that their basic tuneup, for $110, is simple alignments and cleanings. You can get more done for $110 in other locations. Do your research and dont let them charge you for unknown stuff
Had a great experience getting a few things today.
Dave and his team are awesome - very helpful for both experienced riders and those just getting back into it! Beautiful store with great selection.
$110 for a bike tune-up? No explanation on what was done. LOL Wont get my money again. Peace!
I inherited a road bike and I need it some gear to start riding It. I google this place and decided to stop by just 20min before closing time, Dave Groom was on a task and as soon as I asked him questions about what I was looking for he stopped what he was doing and directed his attention to me, with a lot of knowledge and patience recommended the right items at the right price.I think is important to acknowledge the customer but also as a customer to acknowledge the great service people like Dave provide. Thanks Dave.
Was in yesterday, they has NO selection...maybe 1/4 they used to has! You most likely wont find the size or model youre looking for...
Huge assortment of bikes -- one of the largest bike shops Ive seen. Has both Specialized and Trek bikes (mostly) in every category and age type. Very friendly service, with store clerk providing good advice on bikes for different types of terrain. The store has lots of other bike gear and clothing too.
Bought my Specialized Roubaix from them, was such an easy process getting fit and selecting what I wanted/needed I went back later and bought my son a bike from them.Service center is excellent, they really took care of my bike after I wrecked the bike I bought from them. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
Awesome place and good variety of bikes and bike accessories. When we called one of the staff picked up and said the bike we were looking for was unavailable. Then after a while we called again and the owner picked up and he gave us a newer bike and gave us a great deal. The bike that we got was also very reasonable for the price. Nice.
It’s hard to find a road bike this summer. I have visited couples of bike shops in last couple days. It becomes normal that certain road bikes were not in stock at store at the time of visiting. Since this was a bike for my wife, it has to be perfect. I was very excited to see that many of options in store today. Staffs at store are very professional, helped us along the way on nailed in one that even better than we expected. Love this store! I will definitely visit again when I am upgrading mine.
My first time in I was immediately greeted by the same person I had talked to over the phone. The representative was incredibly helpful and asked probing questions into what I was hoping to do and what I was looking for. The store was way larger than I thought and i got to try out a couple of bikes outside. Although inventory is short in the price range I was looking for I will definitely end up buying a bike here in the future. Great experience overall, thanks Julian for all your help!
Great inventory of specialized bikes and gear. Dave knows his stuff. Excellent bike buying experience.
Hands down best bike shop in Washington. Service, products and knowledgeable staff are all top notch.
Great customer service. Very helpful in finding the right mountain bike for us and they delivered right to our house as I didn’t have a way of taking 2bikes home( I do live close to the store). Will definitely buy from them again...
Thank you for placing my new pedals on my road bike at the last min! You guys did an awesome job and best of all, i wasnt charged for anything. Will highly recommend anyone who has to fix their bicycles to your store. Thank you once more!
Center Cycle has been my go to bike shop for over 15 yrs. I am always treated fairly, honestly and with understanding of my love to cycle. They provide a knowledgeable staff. This provides me with in depth information on what my needs might be. This is a a shop that not only delivers customer service and a friendly atmosphere for your experience but I always walk away knowing something more about my bike. I send all my friends and biking enthusiasts here.
I’ve been going to this place for years, and they’ve been great the whole time. This place has a huge selection, and they were the only dealer that had literally any bike in my price range during the pandemic. When I have trouble with my mtb, they fix it for a respectable price, and with great work, speed, and quality. Go here.
Sales person had an improperly fitting mask that constantly (literally every several seconds) fell below the mouth, completely negating the wearing of the mask. I pointed out to the employee that their mask was falling off and they did adjust it often, but they did so by touching the front part of the mask that covers the mouth, then touched the bicycles afterward. Bikes are hard to come by right now or I would have left immediately after seeing the carlessness regarding this deadly pandemic. I did not purchase from this shop and will not be returning nor recommending.
Best place shopping for bike and repair
Nice folks, but for some reason they dont answer their phone and never return phone calls. Left three messages in the last two months to try and schedule service and noone ever calls back
I just tuneup 2 of my bikes and paid $240 dollars and they didnt even wash them. 😑 I just visit this store because my previous repair shop was closed because of covid. Over priced service.
Center Cycle has been very helpful with timely repairs on my bike. One of the mechanics, Mike, is quite knowledgeable. He has been easy to work with and communicative while helping me get my bike dialed in. Thank you Center Cycle, and thank you Mike.
I should have gotten his name, but the guy who “fixed” my brakes was very condescending- I’m paying you money because I want you to fix it man, if I felt like doing it I would have done it myself but I was trying to bring business. He didn’t even fix the brakes then charged me $25 for the service and time. It’s a waste of my time to go fight about it, especially with him. I was watching him in the back chat it up with the other guys back there the whole time and I was wondering what he was doing and why it was taking so long. He just wanted the money, I get it but I was a loyal customer who will be going elsewhere from here on out.
Ive been to Center Cycle for a couple repairs now. Theyve always been very fair with their price and the work was top notch! When I wear my current bike out, they will be my first stop.
Good people, friendly service. I recommend buying from them.
Ive been coming into this shop for years and its always a great experience. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable and the mechanics always do a fantastic job. I moved into Seattle and still drive down to Kent to go to this shop, cant recommend enough.
Love Center Cycle!! Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Hands down the best service. I was racking my brain to resolve a shifting issue and Center Cycle had it resolved in minutes. Plus I learned a lot about drive system compatibilities! Always great advice that saves time and hard earned money. Well worth your time! Plus they have a great selection of bikes and gear if you need something now.
Solid customer service. Honest and helpful staff, without the condescending attitude encountered at many shops. Over 20 years in Seattle, Ive shopped at dozens of bike shops. Center Cycle has far exceeded my experiences at any other LBS. Although I live in West Seattle, I drive to Renton for service because I appreciate their recommendations and attention to detail.
Walked in looking for a bike. Few minutes later walked out with my first mountain bike. Very happy.
Wonderful place that can help elite riders as well as newbie beginners (like me). Very knowledgeable but never talked down to me or made me feel like an idiot. They also fit my bike for me until it was absolutely perfect. I have been so impressed with the level of service and the friendliness of the staff. Worth the hour drive to come here!
Center cycle is an awesome bike shop. The sheer quantity of on hand bikes is un-touchable! Dave, the owner is very helpful and understanding, a must visit.
New to bicycling and had been shopping other stores without much success. The only other store that was willing to educate didnt have the bicycles we were shopping for. A friend referred me to Center Cycle. Dealt with a salesman names Cole. Good personality and took good care of us. Informative, had the models in stock and the best price around that we found. Very pleased and will be back.
Fast. Lest than 20 for grandsons flat tire
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff! I flew into Seattle with my Specialized just to find out the dropper was malfunctioning the day before heading to BC for a week long biking trip. Their mechanic was out so the owner personally took the time to fix the issue - and at NO cost! Thanks for saving the day! Although I was just in for service and didnt shop, that had a very large selection of bikes and products. Definitely recommend!
I have purchased two bikes from Center Cycle and have received top notch advice, support, and communication. These are important things that you are not going to get from an online shop. One of their mechanics Greg is the only person I trust to work on my bike. He has personally solved two issues I couldnt repair on my own. If you are in the market for a new road or mountain bike swing by and see for yourself.
I went in there to have an old bike checked out. They were very helpful and honest in helping me figure out what to so with it. Ill definitely be back when its time to get a new bike!
Went in on Monday for a new bike for my partners up coming triathlon. they spent 2 hours fitting and testing for the perfect bike. thanks for all the help and the great price on the new Specialized ruby!
Great customer service from Brad (I think 😬), who went above and beyond to help us get this bike! The frog tadpole mini is the tiniest real balance bike around, and Center Cycle is one of very few places that carry it. Here is my tiny dude, who is still too short for a Strider, on his first ride! (If the picture didnt attach, its a joyful toddler on a red balance bike)
Had a great experience getting a few things today. Will be back. Impressed with the selection and staff! I’m a customer now for sure
Ive been to this store several times for help with my older, used bike. These guys are great. Unfortunately, I had my bike stolen and was looking for a replacement, and again I got great advice and NO sales pressure. Shout out to Peter. Great guy to work with!
Dave is a very kind man and bicycle knowledgeable . Go to him for bike stuff.
Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We havent biked in years so it was nice to have someone guide us without high pressure salesmanship. Great experience, highly recommend!
Came here fresh off the plane and bought a bike off craigslist. Road it right over to the shop and the guys were super receptive to my beginner road bike questions. They set me up with some gear and even were good enough people to sell me down on somethings that I thought I needed, but did not. I worked with 4 guys between the mechanic and the guys on the floor and all of them were friendly, genuine, and knowledgeable special shout out to Dave and David.Would Highly recommend this shop!!!Kyle
Nice spot, knowledgeable staff. I feel the best part of micro bike shops are the Warranties and maintenance plans they offer. This is pretty much like any other shop, 1 year and $60 tune ups (I think, might have changed, dont quote me on that price).
Thus place has the most helpful staff and great selection and service
These guys are fantastic! Dave the owner is probably one of the most caring and nicest guys around. Peter is super friendly/helpful. The guy today who fixed my bike for free because it may have been partially there fault, cant remember his name, is great. If they dont get you setup to ride to your liking the first time they will make it right. Oh and they dont try to nickel and dime you but help you save short/long term. This bike shop sets an example of what all bike shops should be but arent.
I am a new biker getting ready for a big road trip by commuting to work. I wasnt prepared for my first flat and brought my bike in to get advice on how to properly change a flat tire with narrow rims. Peter, a technician at Center Cycle, was very gracious and showed me all the helpful tips for doing it right. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this store to a friend.
Im familiar with this shop from traveling and reached out to inquire about an online purchase. I spoke with two different employees after getting pulled into something at work in between. My second interaction was unfortunate and I was not planning to pursue a transaction any further at that point. I later received an unprompted return phone call and voicemail from the manager, who proactively apologized for the interaction and offered solutions. I was very impressed by the initiative and the genuine nature of his message. I did complete my intended purchase and would return to this shop in the future.
Great quality of work, fast service. I never go home disappointed with the work they do.
Ive been frequenting Center Cycle for several years now. Ive bought numerous bikes and innumerable components, clothing and odds & ends from them and have them perform any of the bike servicing I dont do myself. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and if you need something they dont have on hand they can get it for you. I highly recommend Center Cycle. Support your LBS!
Dave and his team at CenterCycle were great. They were very patient and answered all of my questions. They took the time to explain the somewhat intimidating world of biking. They had a huge selection, the best prices by almost 30%, and were a pleasure to work with. Keep up the great work!
Good gear and bike selection. Knowledgeable technicians. Hit or miss with sales staff...some are very helpful while one or two act like youre a temporary annoyance who will go away more quicky the less they do for you.In the end, I think its a good shop. If I pick a bad apple, I just ask for someone else or come back later.
Dropped in to Cycle Center the day before STP for last minute assistance with gearing issues on the bikes post-shipping. Despite being very busy the staff helped us immediately and got us in good working order for the ride and gave us some tips for additional work we could do after the ride to have the bikes performing even better. Very worth the stop!
Best bike shop on the planet! Very knowledgeable staff that provide honest and informative information. AMAZING selection too.
Great bikes at good prices with unbeatable service.
Such great staff! They actually care about helping you get the best bike for your needs at the best price possible! Love these guys! :-)
On vacation, I went into the Trek store at 1pm with my Trek mountain bike needing to replace a broken spoke and an adjustment to the derailleur. Asked if they could fix me up by the following day when we were moving on. They said no can do.Went to Center Cycle ten minutes away and they had me fixed up and out the door in a little over an hour. Thanks Center Cycle. No thanks Trek.
The layout of the store is impressive. Very clean! The employees are knowledgeable and are there to help. I like them enough to send a family member over to buy their bike.
Best shop in WA. Insane selection. And if you’re a Specialized fan, they have the widest range of selection.
Very friendly and knowledgeable. The staff make time for you when they are busy and seem to care about what you are looking for in a bike. I highly recommend this place.
This place is over price when it comes to repairs. I took my MTB there to change my regular tires to tubeless, add new handlebars grip and make sure my gears working ok . I got a call from the mechanic telling me my tires arent compatible to tubeless, we talked about the price and I give them the ok to add new tires. I was expecting to have a bill around $210 to $240. Well my bill was $330. They change my front break pads without consulting me, not really happy about this.I can easy change my own break pads. I dont need to paid $40. Later that day I realize my back tire wasnt tight all the way! That is a huge risk. I usually dont give negative reviews but Im so disappointed with the job done and the over priced labor and condition my bike was giving to me.At Cole, Thank you for your response to my review. I dont feel confortable taking my bikes to this store.
I visit other bike shops for different needs but sm seriously about to consider exclusively going here. Its ALWAYS a great experience with good prices. Its orientated around the customer, not the bottom dollar.
We had an incident with a cyclist and Steve was awesome! He was kind enough to drive down the street to take a look at the bike and help with a minor repair. Great customer service!
Staff was friendly, taking care of everyone efficiently!
Good people, most knowledgeable staff Ive found. Fair prices.
I am so glad I found Center Cycle. They are the only Serious bike shop Ive been able to find in the south sound / Renton / Kent / Auburn area. If you are looking for some people who take helping true enthusiasts out, these are your guys. Peter did a better job at bike fitting than anyone else weve ever found.
Starting a new build with a 13 Cervelo P3 build and have been debating between a few components, specifically drive train. Have been shopping around for a while and am AMAZED by how over priced this store is. 2 derailleurs and a cassette later, I went with Performance Bike and saved about $85.Visited the store to ask some questions, and make an excuse to go look at bike stuff...and the vibe in the store is truly awkward and uncomfortable. No background music, no greeting by employees, and the salesman who was helping me when I was asking about inventory was corrected 3 times by the manager while I asked questions. I was flabbergasted by how terrible the customer service and buying experience would have been. I felt like a was more of inconvenience to the sales associates then a customer. There was one associate, younger, short guy with a couple of tattoos that I think was literally one of the worst associates of any store I have ever visited. I said Hello, hows your day? And he just stared at me awkwardly. Also, a 7 day return policy? That is unreal this day in age. Ill stick with my go to stores, and most likely never visit this store again.2 stars for the fact they do carry and ungodly amount of bikes.*UPDATE* told myself I would never go back, but they had the saddle I needed in stock. Sticker on item showed $130. When I got home I double checked my receipt and it showed $150. And again...just a awkward quiet vibe with sales associates who are oddly uncomfortable to talk too.
Great service, price and selection. Highly recommended!
Walked in and wanted to ask some questions about buying a specialized stumpy. Staff was kinda downright rude and wasnt very helpful. They do have a good selection of bikes tho.
Knowledgeable and straight forward. Very accommodating to various needs. Highly recommend.
Even though the location is a little out of the way for me, this is my go-to local bike shop. I was in the market for a new bike that could handle all the roads and trails of Seattle in all weather, and I received a great amount of help in navigating through their large inventory to find something that suited my needs in my price range. I ended up with a 2015 Specialized Diverge Expert which was one of the bikes recommended to me by the staff member who assisted me.A few weeks after purchasing the bike, I noticed there was some spoke noise from the rear wheel. I brought the bike back in, and they gladly took a look at it and tightened up the spokes quickly and free of charge. This seems to be a place that has knowledgeable mechanics who will stand by their work.PS they carry mainly Giant and Specialized, and a pretty wide spectrum of both companies product lines. You can find a basic $600 bike or a decked out full carbon $8000 race bike under one roof.
Pricing is just as fair as any other shops around, service costs are better than the smaller shops that ive been to in Seattle and about the same as Metier in Seattle, and they are very helpful and knowledgeable as well.
Bought 2 new Specialized mountain bikes for my girlfriend and I . The 2nd time she rode hers it kept throwing the chain and caused her to crash. The manager at Center Cycle said it was operator error. When I got on the bike and rode it for 20 seconds, it threw the chain on me to. I raced bikes for years so I know its not operators error. My girlfriend peeled skin on her hand and missed some days at work. Center Cycle or Specialized have yet to take responsibility for this. Lawsuit pending.
The store in general is full of things for any bicycle need; moreover, the employees are great with ther patrons
Greg, Peter and Dave keep my bikes rolling no matter how badly I thrash them. Center Cycle is awesome, I am grateful for there care and service
Huge selection of bikes. No pressure and helpful salesmen that dont work on commission. Service is excellent. John helped us with a new specialized bike.
Tried to buy a mountain bike there today. My husband has been a customer before and we thought wed spend some money. There was one sales guy on the floor already helping another couple, and one guy at the register. After being ignored for 20 min we decided to leave. Would have been nice to at least get a nod, or a hey you guys are next in line but nothing. Sucks because we were ready and saw a few bikes we really liked. Your loss. Not coming back.
Had a terrible experience. Bought a new MTB. The rear hub failed a couple weeks in. It was replaced no problem. About a week later it failed again. When I went back in the owner threw a fit and said I was too heavy for the bike and he wouldnt repair it. Wish I would of known I was to heavy for it when they took my money . Its a full sized MTB and I weigh 230lbs.Obviously I would never step foot in here again.Up until that point everything had been fine. I guess buyer beware.
Purchased my new Specialized mountain bike here and couldnt be happier with how I was treated. They gave me a great deal and helped out in anyway needed, really friendly staff and a wide selection of bikes. I live a hour away so for me it was not convenient and no one else closer had the bike I wanted ready built for me to test out but well worth for me to go back down to get some goodies for my new mountain bike. They pricematched my new helmet and I bought a few other goodies while I decided to go tubeless could not be more pleased. Im not one to write reviews but I just had such a good experience with the guys at Center Cycle in Renton. Thanks again!
A very cool bike shop, one of the nicest Ive seen, and Im a bike shop aficionado.
One word, meh.Best thing they have going is their selection but rather unwilling to negotiate on price, or put things on sale, end of season.Wanted to buy two brand new bikes and they didn’t want to work with me in any regard. From what we’ve experienced, EVERYTHING is MSRP (or more) at their location. Can’t find a reason why I’d want to or need to shop here unless I was in a pinch. Service was “okay” but very inpimpressivd compared to other bike shops I’ve visited.
Good Inventory, One of the only bike shops in the area that actually had a XXL bike in stock. John was super helpful and answered all of my questions.
Very friendly staff, they have the knowledge, the resources and the bikes to satisfy the most demanding customers
This is an outstanding shop. Knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely accommodating. I would go out of my way to shop here.
Dropped off my bike to be shipped last week. Cole and staff were tremendously helpful. No longer in the area but would definitely give them my business again!
Awesome selection and good prices. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
My wife and I both bought bikes here at the end of the summer. We had a great experience. Thanks Peter!
Super friendly unlike most bike shops that make you feel like you are not good enough to be there unless you have a 10000 dollar bike.Very helpful on what I needed for my bike.
Great selection of bikes and accessories including shoes and clothes.
Best bike ever. Dave and his employees are excellent.
Renton Cycle Center has great prices on their bikes. Not the first time I bought my bike from Dave at Renton Cycle Center.
Very good selection and excellent customer service!
Great place to buy all of your cycling needs. Very large inventory and the sales crew are very knowledgeable and helpful.
I came in there at the last minute they made some adjustments to my bike, bought shoes with clip in pedals (first pair) walk me through it and made me feel comfortable using them. They are my bike shop from here forward.
An amazing selection of bikes and a knowledgeable and patient staff.
The staff is super friendly and they have a huge selection of bikes!
Had the bike tires I needed on the shelf and installed within 24 hours. Sweet.
