This place is truly a gem. The staff and the management there are incredibly friendly, exceptionally knowledgeable, and always go out of there way to help however they can. There is a distinct, personal level of service there that you just dont seem to get at many places nowadays. The owner Rande is a great guy and really works to figure out your tastes and preferences. He then makes well informed recommendations based on your predilections and price point. Even though the store has a wide variety from which one can choose, they further seem to have a large network of suppliers and can order you that special bottle you have been seeking.

Shout out to Steve Mosteiro. We just had a FABULOUS wine tasting with him. The education was next level and easy to comprehend with visuals/maps of each region. The wine selection was phenomenal and very different from bottle to bottle. We were lucky to have him come to our house and host this experience in the comfort of our own kitchen. The Wine Cabinet is a great resource for wines & great service and education in a down to earth fashion.

Very friendly management staff there. Lots of wine choices. If you are looking for good and great wines this is a great place. They have wines nobody else has. This is a boutique type store, and as a result they dont seem to be competing in the under $20 market. They offer a mixed case discount if you ask I think.

My wife and I stopped by after reading reviews about a great selection and wonderful service. The variety was indeed excellent. We picked up the bottle pictured below. The service, however, was underwhelming. Upon entering the empty store, the gentleman didnt do so much as greet us. When asked for help finding a Brunello, all he said was wall behind you. Even when my wife asked about their Thursday open bottle special advertised at the check out counter, he said its on Thursdays. She had to ask again what the special actually was and he said we open a bottle on Thursdays and discount it. No further details.Maybe it was because we were in our gym clothes, going there straight after a workout to pick up a good $60 bottle of wine. Maybe the gentleman was having a bad night. I dont think wed be returning to find out either way. Hopefully the next customer has a more positive experience than we did.EDIT:Rande, thank you for reaching out. You were extremely professional. Our conversation was on par with what my wife and I initially expected from our visit to The Wine Cabinet. I changed my review from 2 stars to 4, because in the end kindness and a positive attitude goes a long way. We havent been able to return yet, but look forward to visiting soon!

The wine cabinet went above and beyond when I requested a wine delivery for a very important client of mine. They caught an error in the delivery address as well as went out of their way to try to get to the contact on time. Great local wine store. They have a good selection of wines as well as a smaller assortment of craft brewed beer. The staff are friendly and will gladly answer questions. They have regular wine and beer tastings. The shop adds some nice local character to north Reston.

Great little wine store in the middle of a strip mall. The store has quite a nice selection of wines. Just tried my first one recently and it was very good. I will definitely visit the store again and try something else.

Outstanding local wine (and beer) store, that does more than just sell wine (and beer). Multiple weekly wine (and beer) tastings from a variety of vineyards (and brewers), and we’ve taken advantage of their monthly wine seminars, and their wine pairings dinners as well. Kate and Mike and their staff are super-friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Lovely store and a great place to visit! The employees are very helpful and help out anyone from a wine novice all the way to a full-fledged oenophile. We fall on the novice side of this spectrum and always appreciate the staff taking the time to ask us about our preferences and helping steer us to the bottles that we might like. The store has a nice selection and has a small rack of beer/brews, port/fortified wines, and bubbly in the back. They also have a modest but nice selection of serving trays, bar accessories, and party supplies. All-in-all, we couldnt ask for anything more from our neighborhood wine store! Highly recommended!

This is the second year in a row I’ve had an amazing Christmastime experience heavily influenced by The Wine Caninet, and in particular Steve M. whose passion for wine is infectious and inspiring. Last year, Steve helped our family organize an awesome tasting of strictly Pinot Noirs, but from all of the major regions of the world - the idea being to focus on a single wine and figure out for ourselves which particular region of the world produced our favorite. The exercise was super helpful in helping identify my personal go-to Pinot Noir when dissecting overwhelming wine menus.This year, we did something similar, but focused on a wide range of red blends with grapes from all over the world. The kicker was that Steve came to OUR HOUSE and conducted the wine tasting. Steve layered world history, geography, and a deep knowledge of everything wine — from the grapes, to types of glasses, to crafting methods, dispelling wive’s tales, and personal stories from his own eclectic past — to provide an experience that was both informative and very entertaining.Such an enjoyable event! Our jaws are on the floor. 10/10 - forever customer here!

Dave and the staff have always been super helpful! Everytime I have been in the store, Dave has come and greeted me and asked if he could help me find anything (as he did today). They always have a fresh shipment in of great beer, and always an excellent selction of wines. Dave goes above and beyond to make sure that each guest has a great experience.
