Friendly, professional staff. Glasses selection not as big as some places Ive been, but there were plenty to pick from. Waiting room time was minimal. Wait for glasses seems long (14 business days), but maybe thats industry standard. This was my first appointment in several years.

Ive been having regular eye checkups with Dr. Sheebani for more than 5 years and I have been more than happy with the level of care and the quality at the Eye Institute of Reston.My glasses FIT -- because Dr. Sheebani or one of her staff takes care to make sure the nose pieces are just right for the wearer. My eye sight changed about 0.25 points and she told me its my choice whether I would like to change my glasses. That its fine to continue using my glasses without getting new ones. I appreciate that. And the choices for glasses in her office are varied and very nice.

Dr. Woo and staff are very friendly and efficient. The exam was thorough but quick and they helped me pick just the right frames without vacillating, which is hard for me, ha! A few years ago I was trying to find a place that didn’t seem corporate and uncaring, so my husband recommended The Eye Instutute of Reston to me and I’ve been so pleased that I plan to keep going there!

Had a great experience with Dr bathija - she was perfectly professional and personable, I felt that she truly cared. ~Apparently~ it is recommended that I not drive without my glasses and she VERY thoughtfully prepared to have my glasses ready before I left. And you know what, they were perfect! I feel like Ive NEVER had lenses so accurate to my eye sight. I will not be going to my eye dr again 😅The front desk (Vanessa i believe) was so kind and helpful as well!The office was nice and I wasnt worried about social distancing as they were very proactive in minimizing patients indoors.

The doctor and staff were very helpful and professional. They have a very good online scheduling system that makes sure that there is no overlap between clients so the necessary safety precautions due to COVID are taken.

My eight year old son was very nervous about his first optometrist appointment. She made him feel at ease. She is very knowledgeable and friendly! My family and I highly recommend her! We had an 11am appointment and waited about 20 minutes, which wasnt an inconvenience for us.

Dr. Cho did a very thorough exam and spent a lot of time with me explaining the exam and the whys with me. Highly recommend!

Great service but they scheduled 5 appointments within 30 -45 minutes and the doctor was rushed to get us in and out quickly. They don’t try to pressure you to buy anything there or add extra services, which I appreciated.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would . My husband needed an emergency appointment for his swollen eye. The receptionist was completely unprofessional and did not have any knowledge of what she was doing. As she is scheduling his appointment she was talking to another patient in front of her and taking down their information with me on the line . So she is going back and forth trying to find me in the system and attending the patient in front of her . She told me 4 times she couldn’t find my husbands name in the system to the extent that I had to double check and make sure this is the office across from the nova to ensure this is the office he’s always gone to . After confirming the correct office she finally finds him and tells me they do not have anything available until Monday . I told her it was an emergency and if she could pls schedule sooner if possible . She stated she could squeeze me in for Friday at 11:15 am . We get there on Friday for his appointment and the receptionist says we do not have an appointment scheduled and she doesn’t remember speaking to me ?? She even goes further to say “ you said you would call me back” ... what would I need to call back for if the appointment was scheduled ? And how do you remember me saying I’d call back but your first excuse was you don’t remember speaking to me? Then the doctor agrees to see my husband but not before asking if he was going to pay out of pocket because they no longer take our insurance. The staff here is completely incompetent and unprofessional!! They do not know what they are doing and I highly recommend you do not waste your time with this place .

Our family has been going to Dr.Bhatija since she first started her practice right out school. That was in summer 2006... It is 2019 now! Need I say more!! She has always been wonderful, professional, knowledgeable and we have complete trust in her abilities to care for our eyes! You will not regret putting your eyes in her careful hands.

The Dr. was so patient during my little kid eye exam. No doubt, she is highly skilled and professional. And give everyone the time they need.

The doctor is knowledgeable and but she forgot to give me the offset for my glasses and correct prescription. After i ordered the glasses i could not see properly so i went back to get them changed to my old prescription. Not sure what she was thinking giving me wrong prescription. There are plenty of places to go to i would not recommend this place.

Amazing Service!

Great eye doctor, nice staff. She did a comprehensive eye exam and her staff helped me pick out glasses. I talked to Dr. Bathija about my contacts and she helped me pick out a better brand because my old ones made my eyes dry. She actually had me come back after a couple of weeks to make sure the contacts worked for me, so I was able to try it before I ordered contacts.

I went here and did an eye exam, was given the wrong prescription for my eyes? Now I need to wait until April to get the correct one. I would not recommend this office. I can see better with glasses I have from 5 years ago. I went to read a label with very small print, I couldnt read the words without glass, and it looked even worst with the glasses. Glad I purchase glasses or anything else from this office.

Dr. Sheebani Bathija is the absolute best! 10/10 recommend she is very quick, professional and super sweet. I highly recommend visiting her for your eye care.

Dr. Bathija is an excellent doctor who is caring and knowledgeable. She addresses not only health concerns, but is practical about costs as well. Her assistant, Claudia, is very friendly and accommodating. It was easy to get my preferred appointment dates/times and the office is in a good location. I highly recommend this practice.

Nothing special, not somewhere I would recommend to anyone, although I wouldnt tell anyone not to go either, I suppose. The doctor was knowledgable and the wait wasnt bad, but the receptionist is an issue if not a liability. Calling my insurance company at the front desk (maybe three feet from the other seated patients and myself) and loudly reading my full name and birthdate to a waiting room of several other people and myself is enough that I wont be back after my follow-up.

This was my first time visiting the eye institute. The staff was very welcoming, explicite and patient. My experience for he first time was great and so I give 5 stars

Very professional and efficient. I was seen on time, and the doctor flagged what could be a very serious condition and offered to have an appointment set up for me with a retinal specialist. My regular eye doctor moved and her new location isnt convenient, so I may have found my new doctor. Shes very down to earth and friendly.

As usual, a pleasant experience. The doctor and her staff take time with you, and examine you thoroughly. They help you choose options for lenses and glasses.

My husband was not told the picture of the retina was an additional cost of $40 until he was checking out. When I saw Dr for an eye problem, part of my treatment was drops which the dr said they would provide. Cost was not discussed until the $24 was added to my bill at checkout. Beware of additional costs which may not be disclosed. Otherwise good experience.

Best one in NOVA. She is very good at treating people and know what is necessary for people who are suffering from eye problem and does suggest what care and food need to be taken to have right vision of the eyes and I never seen this type of doc in US for past 14 years. GREAT

Having previously worked in Optometry offices myself, there was no excuse for their staff being so unknowledgeable. They were in no rush to help their current patients. I went because they were supposed to be in-network with my insurance, after further review it turns out they werent. Would have gone somewhere else if their website was more carefully managed and updated. Place and equipement was also very dated. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Yearly eye check up complete! New glasses to be in next week! Easily in and out, tests taken and pictures examined! Lots of frames to choose from!

ORIGINAL REVIEW, APRIL 28, 2017, 1 Star:First the positive side:easy to get appointments, relatively short wait time, and front desk staff is polite.Why the lowest rating?POOR KNOWLEDGE:The appointment was for my daughter’s eye exam and contact lens fitting. After trying two brands that are not comfortable, I did some research about contact lens. I requested trial for ACUVUE OASIS 1-day, but received ACUVUE MOIST 1-day instead. I hesitated and questioned about the differences, the staff and the doctor told me that the two are the same thing. I called the manufacture and confirmed that the two are completely different products. When I relayed the message to the office staff, she still insisted on that the two are the same. I asked to speak to the doctor, and am still waiting for her call back.POOR BEDSIDE MANNER:The eye exam by the doctor was rushed. She did not check on visual field nor did she test for eye pressure. One simple reading on a machine (she did not explain that procedure), my 12-year-old daughter was seated in the chair. Shortly after that, the doctor stated that my daughters vision has not changed since her last checkup (done at a different practice 18 months ago).The front desk staff doubles as the doctor’s assistant and provided contact lens training. Again, that process was rushed, and I have to request that she explain how to check the lens flipped inside out since she skipped that. When done, she simply handed my daughter a sheet of paper and asked her to take it home and read it – it was the do’s and don’t for contact lens. I have to request that the staff explain those to my 12-year-old, who is a first time contact lens wearer!After the eye exam, we did not receive any prescription for glasses. It took me two separate calls and one week to get the prescription via email.I would have taken my daughter to a different doctor, but I already paid for the contact lens fitting and training.Very disappointing experience.UPDATED REVIEW, MAY 3, 2017, 4 StarsThe doctor called me shortly after my original review was posted and discussed my experience. She apologized about the poor handling and confusion about the lens, and agreed to look into getting the trail lens that I requested.At the follow up appointment, the Doctor did additional testing for my daughters vision. We also discussed different lens available in the market. We are still waiting to finish the contact lens trial and fitting process, and I think the office deserves a revised review. Dr. Bathija was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. I will need to return for a follow up as she stated my prescription changed and I need to test the new contacts she put me in. I couldnt help but notice that they were Bausch + Lomb and she had a lot of Bausch + Lomb advertising/merchandise in the office. I certainly hope she isnt receiving a kick-back from the company to promote and prescribe their brand. Working in marketing, Im very aware of how this works. She did howver give me a sample of the Acuvue lenses I currently wear and told me I could choose between the two, but Im just very aware (maybe hyper aware) of how the industry works Finally, in my opinion, the wait time was excessive (20-30 mins) and there was not an apology, but overall, the visit was fine.

I woke up with a pain in my right eye on 9/1/13. It felt like i had somthing in it and it was swollen. My vision in my right eye was blurry as well. Not a good feeling when you wake up for the day. Anxiety in me was going through the roof. I am getting the crazy thoughts such as i think I had a stroke in my sleep.. cancer.. All sorts of madness...Its a sunday, so I im thinking its serious to me but not worthy of the ER...I ask my wife to look for who would be open a sunday. Dr. Bathija was open. A new stand up practice in reston. She called and set me up for 11. I got there at 11 on the dot.She ran all sorts of tests and told me I had scratches on my eye. Obviously from the renovation work I do. Alot of dust, dirt etc..,. She gave me drops for the day time and a prescription for the night. I asked her about a brown spot on my eye that my wife notices.. She explained that to me as well. In a nutshell. Shes open a Sunday, which is awesome. I needed some anxiety relief for my eye and she gave it to me. Shes fast, obviously knows what she is doing. She answered all my questions happily and you dont feel like your there just for some designer frames.. I live in manassas, but I am going to keep her as my primary eye care doctor. Worth the trip !
