I agree with the other reviewers, great customer service. I took my lens in for what I thought could be a very expensive repair. Robert quickly diagnosed it as just needing a simple cleaning and took care of it on the spot and didnt charge me. My experience was honest customer service and care. August 10, 2020 Just drove up there- Archinal’s closed, gone with no new address- telephone disconnected- what happened?

I found Roberts camera shop and WHAT A GREAT Place. Robert is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. You dont find many places that is STILL customer oriented and customer friendly. This is a gem of a place. The unassuming Robert provides exemplary customer service with thoughtful advice padded in. We should patronize places like Archinal Camera Repair more often if required to ensure their survival against the mega-centers.Apart from indulging in practical discussion with a camera expert, the sheer pleasure of being face-to-face with someone working on your camera should give you a sense of comfort.Robert correctly diagnosed the issue with my camera. He didnt charge me a penny! Try to exceed that at a franchise center or even, if you can afford it, the manufacturers remote location where one has to pay a starter fee (plus shipping/handling) just for the honor of touching your gear.I didnt even call ahead. Robert greeted me warmly and quickly went through the iterations built on extensive experience. The fact that my camera has a new life at no added service cost means my future vacations will be a little more memorable.I sincerely hope that in the event you need to service a camera you will think about Archinal first!

Robert was so helpful!! I was having some issues with my camera, so I thought. Part of it was user error. Robert gave me some very helpful tips, even made me jot them done so I wouldnt forget!! Hes very honest, and knowledgeable. There were a few people who walked in during my visit and he was able to diagnose quickly and pricing is great! I have a older Nikon and he offered to help guide me on my next purchase when I was ready - to get the camera that best fits my needs. Robert was great. I took my wifes ~15 years old canon 40d in as it could no longer take pictures. He was honest with me that it wasnt worth spending a dime on to fix, better to just buy a new one. Knowing he wasnt going to get a dime of my money, he took 10 to 15 minutes talking to me about best replacement options with what the wife was going to use it for. WOW! Robert provides old-school customer service. I had an issue with my Nikon D7200. We talked a little over the phone and he attempted to help me fix it just with a phone call. We were unsuccessful so I took it in for service. When I walked in the door Robert greeted me and again, attempted to fix my camera with some simple resets at no charge. This didnt work so we called Nikon Technical Support and tried to have them walk us through any possible fixes. Unfortunately, all was unsuccessful so I did have to pay to repair my camera. Here are some of the bonuses you get with Archinal Camera. When you pay for a repair they throw in a cleaning that includes a sensor cleaning. Other places charge about $100.00 just for that. Once the repair is done you get a 6-month warranty. That same repair warranty is only 90-days with Nikon. If your Nikon camera is out of warranty and you need repair work done, Robert is the man!

Robert is THE BEST. He was so helpful - you can tell he loves what he does. I was having problems with my camera and brought it in. Robert could have told me I needed a numerous things done to my camera and charged me for it. Instead, he told me my camera was fine and taught me a few things! Highly recommend!

This guy was amazing. I called Ahead, he took the time to troubleshoot my problem over the phone. He saw me within minutes of my arrival. Upfront with the price including repairs and parts, fixed my issue while i was standing there. He knows his stuff and offered me some words of wisdom free of charge. Hes my new go to guy.

Robert is amazing! Our camera died and the battery wouldnt charge so we took it in to make sure hat it was the battery that was the issue. Well he diagnosed the problem for free but beyond that, he took thirty minutes to give me and my sister a crash course on how to use our camera as we are novices and he gave us old books and a DVD about our camera that used to be his at no charge too! He was super helpful and nice and very thorough in his job as he checked to make sure my cameras sensors were clean too even though thats not why we had gone in. I highly recommend this place as he definitely knows what he is doing and is more than willing to help in any way possible.

He looked over the camera on the spot and got it to work and provided several tips for future use. He also told me to bring in my son so he could give him some tips on using as well!

Robert was very helpful in fixing a lens cover on my camera. I rushed in at 4:30p worried that the camera would have to be sent off to be fixed and not returned in time for an upcoming trip. Great little rental studio and repair shop! Had to have my 5d Mk II repaired and he had it fixed and back to me in less than 24 hours. Also surprised me by cleaning up my sensor, viewfinder, etc. for no extra charge.As for the studio rental, hes got most everything you need and a lot of background color options. The space is a little tight, so dont bring a huge group and bring some wider glass.Recommended for sure!

This little camera shop is awesome! I dropped my camera, broke the UV filter and it was stuck. He removed it for me and offered helpful advise to keep it in tip-top shape. He seems to be passionate about photography and helping others.

I brought my shattered camera lens here to see if it could be fixed. The man (maybe the owner) took it from me and said “yes”. He went in the back for about 2 min and gave it back to me fixed. I didn’t realize that I had only cracked the protective lens, not the actual lens!How incredibly honest! I wouldn’t have known it if he had found something wrong with the lens. He didn’t even charge me! Just shook my hand and told me to have a great day! I’ll return whenever I need my camera or lens fixed in the future.

Best camera repair experience hands down. He took the time to troubleshoot every last thing with the camera and lens, never oversold, was straightforward and honest, and spent a generous amount of time helping this novice learn more about photography in general. I won’t be returning anywhere else in the metroplex after going to Archinal!

The owner is the BEST! Very friendly and funny. I had trouble with one of my lenses . I thought that I had a problem with my sensor. He made couple of tests with me to see how clean the sensor. He is very knowledgeable and gave me great tips . I highly recommend this place.

Loved the owner we had the best time talking he helped clean up my old Pentax k1000 camera so I can take some film pictures with it. Yes I know I havent gone digital yet.

I sent in three cameras to have sensors cleaned back in 2017 and when I arrived to pick them up, they werent cleaned at all. You could visibly still see spots on the sensor and sure enough, when testing them on sight at f22 aperture, spots were there. They eventually did get cleaned, but what really caught me off guard was the way my Canon 6D was handled. The guy literally breathed on the mirror, wiped it down with a cloth and called it a day. I spent $100 on someone to do that?! Seriously?! Anyway, Im not likely to ever send anything back there.

This place is great I walked in and another person with the Nikon D80 was having the same issue. He walked us through fixing the issues in less than ten minutes. No charge. You just dont get service like this any more.Thank you

I called this morning to make sure they were open before I drove 45 miles from Arlington.Ispoke with Robert Ferraro and explained what the problem with my camera was. He told mewhat was likely wrong and how I might fix it myself. I tried his remedy and sure enough itworked. Cameras like new. No 90 mile round trip,service fee and wasted half day. I didntknow that anyone provided service like this any more

Twice now I have had an issue with Nikon equipment and Robert has shown me that it was nothing more than corrosion on terminals. And, he has not charged me either time! Archinals is a throwback to a time when customer service meant something. I would recommend Robert and Archinals to anyone.
