Ultimately happy with the final product, but youre better off using another company for countertops.Nice people, but not able to effectively manage the ins and outs of the process in a smooth manner. It was one snafu after another and if we hadnt gone out of our way multiple times wed still be waiting for our countertops to be installed.

Went in to talk about my project. I was excited that they sell by the sf. After confirming that I could buy, I explained that we were building a Tiny House with a builder and would like to pick up the raw piece. They gave me directions to their warehouse to look at the product. When I called today to order, they said they would not allow me to purchase a piece of granite without them fabricating it. This is UNACCEPTABLE business practice. I do not recommend working with this company. They do not communicate well.

I had HDS install numerous granite widow sills and some ledges. The stone looks fabulous! Jeff was very helpful and Billy’s crew did a meticulous job on the install. Thank you HDS for the second time!

The owner has recently died. His sister is now attempting to run the business I guess. I met her and discussed all the details of my kitchen remodel. They do not have anyone to measure for countertops (immediate RED FLAG) So I tell Judy Maynard that I will measure everything and email it to her. She has yet to email me back a quote. I guess they are going to shut this business down. STAY AWAY FROM THEM

I had made arrangements for them to do an install for me, and had planned my remodel around this. Then when the time came, I called Judy multiple times, and got no response. I then called the office, and someone else said that they would have Judy call me. A week later after more calls, the other woman claimed that she had told me that they could no longer do my job because it was out of town, and they were short handed. If I had been told this on the first call it would have been understandable, but it took a week and a half, and multiple calls. It has worked out for the best though, because I have found a company that i am happier with. Thanks judy

Just had HDS install our granite counter tops and back splash. Our entire experience start to finish was nothing but positive. The hardest part was picking from the wide variety of granite they have. I asked straightforward questions about prices, maintenance and install and got straightforward answers without technical mumbo jumbo. I never felt like I was imposing or they didnt have the time for me. Prices were great, no hard sell, everything as advertised. The yard were also very accommodating when we went to pick our specific slab. The install crew arrived on time (who does that these days!), with all the correct materials. They were polite, professional, communicated well and did an excellent job. They also left our kitchen the same way they found it, if not cleaner. Everything promised was delivered and for the stated price.Highly recommend.

I would have marked it excellent if the workers were not in hurry. I got great granite. I got what I wanted. But by the end of the day when the workers could not finish work, they should have done the first thing in the morning. I thought the owner should have been aware of that. Harry sent immediately the plumber to finish the remaining work, when we told the plumbing still left to be done. But I am still not happy with the workers the way they wind up our work because they were in hurry to start the next work next day.Over all I will recommend HDS.

1. The granite that is 25/sq ft is super ugly2. The salesman said he would consider bid matching but then never got back to me when I provided the bid3. Salesman also tried tactics to validate their higher prices saying We only carry the Grade A high quality granite...like they grow their own granite or something. YOURE JUST THE MIDDLE MAN. Your stock depends on clicking a button that says order this type of granite now. There is literally no difference in granite quality other than sales people being able to say well this is high quality and fooling people into thinking that means something as far as function of a stupid counter top goes.Ive had a better experience elsewhere.

I could not be happier with our experience in dealing with Harry. My wife and I flip homes and finding good granite at a cheap price is important when we deal with lower price point homes. Not only did Harry give us exactly what he advertised but went above and beyond making sure that we got exactly what we needed and under budget. They are our go-to when it comes to counter tops; be it a $150K home or a $4.4M estate. Went into the place across the HWY from him that had a $25 sqft sigh out front and was told Nobody gets that price. Made a U-Turn under the highway to check Harry and got exactly what he advertised. Honest business men are hard to find these days, but Harry and his team are as ethical as the day is long...and that cant have a price put on it. We look forward to many years of doing business together.

Disappointed and deceived. After driving a long distance to pick out the stone we wanted, HDS installed something slightly different hoping we wouldnt notice. Also, the installer cracked the stone when drilling the faucet. He hoped we wouldnt notice that problem, either.

I was absolutely insulted by the quote they gave me. The big sign outside of their store “$25.00 per sq ft” is incredibly misleading. Nothing is included in the price per sq ft. They even have a Fuel Surcharge (0-30 miles).

Does Not Appreciate his Customers!I never felt such lack of respect. - He declined to do my job because he said that I sounded like I would be difficult.Well this is what happened and I will try to be unbiased and state the facts only. I drop by this store on a Tuesday to look at granite. My wife and I already had something in mind but we wasnt sure what we wanted. Until I saw the color/pattern that I really like. They didnt really attend to us but I didnt mind because I like to browse freely anyway. So I talked to Harry about the slab that was supposedly sold out. He mentioned that there was a small piece of slab left that would fit one of our vanity. I really wanted it but there was not enough for the other vanity. So we looked at a 2nd color for the other vanity. I had some more questions but they were busy with another customer. Well I didnt wanted to make a decision in haste and I had to go back to work so we left, and thought about it some more.We came back Wednesday to get the color we liked. After talking about which bathroom we would put it in and asking Harry about other left over slabs, Harry decides to call his supplier, and found out there was a slab for us. He asked me if I wanted to see the slab and I said it was not necessary. That goes to show that I am not that picky of a customer. I was happy, but now we were talking about cost. Sure I was asking questions about each line item of cost. I wanted to see if I could do certain things myself, like installing the drain. It took me awhile to decide but we didnt bother him. My wife and I was just talking about it to ourselves. We finally agreed to go with it, all this during our 2nd visit, maybe an hour duration. After I sign the contract Harry shows me the schedule and the soonest date available for installation was 2-1/2 weeks out. I was disappointed and hesitant. I thought I could fine someone to do the job sooner. Harry asked if I wanted my money back. I agreed that was best because once he purchases the slab from his supplier, there is no going back. And I thought that I can come back to purchase in a couple of days if I couldnt find someone to do it sooner. We canceled the transaction in just a few minutes. We why would he be upset? I didnt make him wasted any further efforts. So this is why I am giving a bad review so potential customers know what to expect. I decided the wait was acceptable and I called him Friday, left a voicemail that I wanted to proceed. Harry didnt call back. I called again Saturday and finally talked to him. Harry basically said he decline to do my job because I sounded like I would be difficult. I can appreciate that he does not need the money. But there has to be better reasons to decline a job. I am pretty sure I was not that difficult. I may have taken a long time to purchase. This tells me he just doesnt care about his customers.

Several years ago we utilized HDS to install granite in our kitchen, breakfast nook and sit at bar. All went well which is why weve kept them on our short list for when we redid the wetbar and bathroom. As a result weve kept them on our follow up list when we were ready to do bathrooms and our wet bar.We were renovating our game room where the wet bar was located and opted to do that small job first. Came on-site to HDS and within 15 minutes had our paper bid with 2 tentative dates for the install. They were closing in an hour so we were told to follow up Monday when we were ready. This is where things took a turn, as a big factor for us was the install date.Monday we returned the call but was told that the gentleman who has access to the schedule and Judy who we had been working with were out. Took my name and number and I relayed my interest in securing either of the 2 dates. Never heard back so on the following day I called again. When I spoke with the gentleman as Judy was out, he advised that the 12th was potentially booked but he was uncertain, however the 10th was available. He advised to call back again at 4pm to confirm. When I called back I was told that neither date was available and after sharing my grievance, that Ive been calling frequently and constantly received different info, Judys response was that they would call me the following day in the AM and hope to get me one of the dates. Yet, again, never heard back, called at 3pm and was told the next available date would be another week out. They stated that without a deposit they dont hold a date, regardless that Ive been calling every day to make a deposit once they could confirm an available date. Asked if it was in relation to the smaller job, she ignored it and shared her revised date again, asked if she could empathize and ignored me again. In the end, customer service is a dismal, follow through is non existent and repeat business means nothing - well there goes word of mouth too. Easily found 3 other locations that will match the price or beat it. Theyre so rude its not worth the time. 2 stars because they did well the first go around...

HDS cut and installed a granite countertop for an outdoor kitchen we built in our backyard in a gazebo. They undercut everybody on the quote, were timely and fit the countertop to an unusual trapezoid shape with cut ins for support posts. The work was spot-on, it looks great, and the price was the best in Dallas. We found them on the internet, and read many good, and some negative reviews, and tried them anyway. They were great and we were stumped to understand the negative reviews. We recommend them fully.

Good price. Good quality. Charged what they said. Changed date to what I asked them to. Showed up in said window of time. Did the install quickly. Helped me strengthen my cabinet frame. Custom cut my drywall and backsplash on site to fit new counters. Re-grouted backsplash to granite. Caulked the sink. All counters flat, flush, even. Smooth edges not just on the bullnose corners, but even on hard edges like against fridge or stove - all smooth, rounded, polished. Even raised my stove to match counter height. Swept when done. I know a lot of the quality depends on the individual workers that show up, not the business or owner. I got great workers. So happy. Educated me on maintenance. Looks awesome. No high pressure sales. Very straightforward. Yes granite prices vary, cuz what they are paying as suppliers varies too. I think I paid around $32/sqft. But I got the one I wanted.

Unfortunately, I need to rate HDS job in remodeling our kitchen as a poor experience and specially poor customer service when there was an issue.I could rate the job as very good, if it was not due to the fact that HDS was not able to connect our new downdraft cooktop vent system, after 3 trials in three different days, with three different person and finally they let us know that they are unable to do it. Based on them, the new downdraft vent is different from the old one, and they could not connect the downdraft vent to the ventilation pipe with available parts from home depot. Therefore, after a week from installation day, we are by our own, and need to go and find a HVAC person that can make a custom made vent connection.Harry, HDS Dallas manager, response to this is that he was not aware of the cooktop change, and it was not in our contract, and we should have done our homework and comprehend this ourselves and have a solution for him on the installation day. Based on him, he is running a granite installation company and is not into connecting vents. For all these, he has given us a $50 discount. However, we have notified him on the day we wrote the contract about the new cooktop, Harry, himself, has seen the new cooktop in our home when he came for doing the counter top cut measurements, and he did not put cooktop installation in contract because he never puts connecting cooktop in contracts anyway.I usually contract the whole job to one entity to avoid these type of complications, and this job was no different. We have paid for counter top tear down, granite, back splash, granite installation, back splash installation, and all of these are in our contract. At the time of writing the contract, I have mentioned about new cooktop, and I did not mind paying a fee associated with it, but HDS (Harry) said that this is free of charge and HDS does not charge for that.In conclusion, we wanted a contractor to do the complete job of remodeling the kitchen, and that is why we gave it to HDS, and we gave them all the side jobs such as teardown, plumbing, backspash, and etc. Now we are left with an unfinished job, and a cooktop without a ventilation, which makes the kitchen practically nonoperational. HDS only offers $50 discount, and HDS manager, Harry, recommends that we should have done our homework better (and not HDS). HDS tells us that this is not their problem, and they cannot create a custom part or have anyone in their team that can do this. Therefore, I only recommend HDS, if you have a simple and straight forward job, or you want them only to do granite/back splash installation. If you have a new cooktop or sink, be very careful, and follow HDS recommendation: do your homework.

False advertising much? The actual name of their business on their sign is $25/sq foot installed! That is a 100% lie. The cheapest slab will end up being around $35-$40/foot after all of their charges. They are an absolute joke.
