A spectacular dinner at home for nine that could not have been better! Beautifully presented and all guests raved about the food. Friendly delightful service by all and the entire dinner made for a special family gathering.
Great drinks, incredible atmosphere, expert management. The owner greeted us at the door, then made our drinks. Live piano Friday and Saturday nights. Walking in this place is like going back in time. You feel disconnected from today in all the right ways. Will be back. Highly recommend.
Fabulous dinner, creative menu. Good wine lost, fun piano music. Russell is the best
We went here for brunch and it was surprisingly empty. It’s a fancy restaurant and it was hard to chose from their tasty-sounding menu, but we ended up getting the crab Benedict and creme brûlée French toast. The crab Benedict came with hash browns and fruit, and the French toast came with strawberries and whipped cream on top. Creme brûlée French toast was more like a pound cake though it made it more unique— it could function more as a dessert than an entree.Crab Benedict had only a complete pieces of shell that I noticed, and the poached eggs on top we’re good. We also got some Rose tea (which had a fancy-sounding name). It was aromatic yet quite strong.Since we ‘checked-in’ using Yelp, we got two free truffle pieces. It is worth trying their brunch as they have some unique and good tasting menu items to choose from.
A gem that Richmonders tend to take for granted because Chez Foushee has been a staple for so long.Well not make that mistake again. The restaurant is incredibly appointed with high ceilings and a color scheme that seems to create light. The service was outstanding - the waiter noticed our poached eggs were cooked solid & had the kitchen remake our meals without us saying a word about it, except thank you. Once the eggs were cooked correctly, the Benedict brunches (one traditional, one crabcake) were fantastic with a hollandaise sauce that is probably the best in the city. The brunch cocktail menu was a great blend of both traditionals and new takes on old favorites. We are so happy that Chez Foushee quietly continues to be a Richmond delight.
Always excellent. Our very favorite restaurant in Richmond. We love Chez Foushee for special occasions or just when we want a nice treat. The staff is superb. They are the perfect blend of professional yet warm and welcoming.
We got the best seats in the house! This is such a nice, little place with plenty of huge windows and a beautiful marble bar. The service was great...food came out quickly. They changed my meal to suit me more but forgot two of the ingredients the meal was supposed to come with...which made the meal not taste so great. Aside from that, it didnt have much hollandaise and the fries were tasteless. For RVA, the food is probably pretty good, but for NOVA its mediocre. I usually dont have to ask for hot sauce, at a place like this, but I did.Otherwise the place was beautiful and service was amazing.
What an impeccable dinning option! They have never disappointed me. Thats cuisine is artfully delivered and their specials are unique. Ive found that while reservations are appreciated, they are able to accommodate walk-ins. Its been very crowded when Ive been. The wait staff is very kind and welcoming.
I am sorry guys I was so immersed in the food experience that I forgot to take any pictures... but this place does not need pictures to be described. Chez Foushee is by far one of my favorite places in Richmond. It wasnt just about the drinks and food but an overall amazing experience with the faint fragrance of lillies, interesting conversation with the bar tender, the beautifully decorated place and most importantly a perfectly cooked duck breast paired with the right wine.
Risotto with shrimp was delicious. I was there with 2 couples. Everyone was pleased with their meal and the service. A real plus was that it is not a loud restaurant.
The food was excellent, and our waiter Jason was awesome. He was super willing to talk to us about the cheese selection and he took good care of us. Be prepared to spend some time here, but it will be an enjoyable time.
Very nice evening. Took a while to get our 1st course but after that service was perfect. Food was delicious!
Amazing food and service at a very reasonable price. Our first meal in Richmond. We will be back!!
The wine is priced fairly and they offer classic cocktails and martinis of all kinds. Each dish is balanced and matched perfectly with complementing sides. You cant miss the cod or the duck! Save room for dessert so you can taste the lemon butter cake.
Very nice pre-play dinner spot. Gotta try the lemon cake.. Though its closer to a lemon chess deep dish pie.
This location has a nice and inviting atmosphere. We went here for Sunday brunch. The drinks were over priced and underwhelming. The staff was not very knowledgeable. We asked about their eggs Chesapeake, they said it was lump crab in the crab cake and believed them. The crab was shredded and very breaded. They also were out of the goat cheese for their eggs Benedict, so I got the quiche of the day which was obviously just microwaved. They over charged for the drinks, and did not check to see how our food was. Will not be returning.
We have been many times over the years, a bit fancy, great food, great service. Great desserts! One of the better burgers in town too. Soups also noteworthy.
Delicious, fancy, fun spot for a cute date. Try their espresso Martini for a tiramisu like flavor!
Attentive staff. Nice setting. Good food even though my duck was underdone in places.
Little Chez Deli & CafeThe tastiest food. Love Didos quiche. The friendliest people.Wish they were open 7 days a week!
Great ambiance and attentive service. Called ahead re wheelchair access and experienced a warm welcome and table already set up. Spinach Rockefeller bisque was subtle with a little heat. Also enjoyed the famous decadently deliscious lemon butter cake. Would come back in a heartbeat!
The food was great. The staff took care of all the guests in a friendly and timely manner. Just an amazing experience.
One my favorite Richmond restaurants and the best place to have a party. The food never disappoints. The service is impeccable and so are the drinks. Are making a reservation yet?
I had a luncheon here for about a dozen family members after a funeral. The staff were gracious and helpful, and the food was outstanding. Looking forward to returning under happier circumstances!
We had the pimento cheese app, sprout and bacon salad, scallops, and short ribs. Our waiter did an excellent job of helping us make selective based on our tastes and the drinks paired perfectly. We will absolutely be going back. The atmosphere was also perfect.
Great place for a date or even a relaxed lunch. Great food and very accommodating. Cocktails are top notch!
Dinner last night with my daughter. Excellent meal. Waiter and service were fantastic!
Such a lovely restaurant. The food and service are always flawless.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere and lovely wait staff. A little pricey, so dont go often.
Gorgeous ambiance, personalized service, tasty dishes! Great for date night!
Went there for restaurant week, definitely will go back. Friendly service, beautiful restaurant, excellent food. Portions were just right. Must try lemon butter cake.
Last night my fiancé and I went to Chez Foushee for the first time and had an incredible experience!! The restaurant is absolutely adorable inside, the tables were well spaced out and private, the staff was incredibly kind and the food was delicious! I am looking into having my bridal luncheon here. One of the finer Richmond restaurants!
Cute, quiet spot for dinner. Amazing waitstaff. Delicious shrimp and grits.
Wow......super clean and super loving hard working staff.
Heaven is a place where nothing ever happens, but Chez Foushee is as close to heaven as I have ever experienced, and the food and service are definitely happening there. My daughter and I had a wonderful meal there before seeing Mame at Virginia Rep Theatre. I left the choice of restaurant to my daughter, since she is in that industry. I must have raised her right. When we were about to leave for the theatre, I said, the only bad thing about this meal is that it is over. But the serving size was just right - dont get me wrong. Its just that I was enjoying myself so much that I didnt want it to stop.
Amazingly delicious brussel sprouts salad. Cute French-style restaurants the heart of downtown RVA.
Food was pretty good but service was phenomenal! Jason was a delight I would come back just for his service.
This is another place where I cant hear myself talk; half of the dinner Im pretending to hear what the other person said because Ive gotten tired of asking them to repeat. The noise is so overwhelming, at least at lunch, that I cant remember anything about the food. But, it must have been alright otherwise Id remember to write a review about.
The food is astounding. I had the trout. The creme brulee was a perfect ending. Congratulations to Whitney.
Love the rib-eye! Great service. Definitely pricey, but amazing rib-eye
My wife and I and another couple had a delightful Valentines day dinner.
Always good for lunch. The crabcake sandwich was generous with crab meat and very flavorful.
Great service and drinks. The menu looked great, but the food didnt live up to the expectation.
Fabulous french cuisine with professional attentive service. Quite intimate atmosphere. BY
Very cool building and very good food. Wait staff was very accommodating. Brunch was delicious.
Great foods, service and atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Went here for a late Valentines Day dinner and came away very impressed. The ambiance was very nice. Located right on the corner, hardwood floors, white table cloths, very classy. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful with the menu selections. The Osso Bucco was excellent. Their Lemon Butter Cake, which they are known for, is also a must try.
Consistently delicious food! Excellent service and friendly staff.
I really enjoyed this place! We showed up around 6:20pm for a 6:00pm reservation for 10 and they were still able to accommodate us without a problem. The server (Jason) was very personable and did a great job explaining the dishes to our group.I got the pimento cheese spread for an appetizer had the Duck Breast with Duck Confit as my entree. Both were phenomenal! The breast was perfectly cooked and not oily at all, yet it was quite juicy. The price tag was just over $110 for me and my wife including 1 cocktail, 4 beers, an appetizer, 2 entrees and tip. Overall great experience....we will be back.
We went during restaurant week which I think was a mistake but the food and service were good enough to make me want to go back and try it again.
We split bacon-sauteed brussell sprouts, seafood crepe, hangar steak with pomme frites, lemon butter cake, and creme brulee. I found the lemon butter cake mildly disappointing mostly because its not a butter cake at all, but a cheese cake on a shortbread crust. As delicious as that sounds, Im just not a fan of cheesecake and would not have ordered it but for the misnomer. Having said that, my dining companion did not love it either after we traded. Everything else was perfect including the service. $110 with tip included a beer, a ginger ale, and a coffee so $$$$, but this sweet little dining room is unique architecturally and otherwise.
Duck was great! Gnoochi was not so good.. great service.
Great food and the service is excellent!!
Good food friendly staff
Great place with nice staff good food and clean tables. My only complaint: the bathroom was not particularly clean.
Unbelievably good food! Try the potato cake crusted grouper! Fantastic for a dinner party of 12!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the Lemon Butter Cake!!! The staff is great and the food is wonderful too!!
Outstanding! Excellent food, excellent service. Jason was terrific server.
Definitely between 3 and 4. I recently went with my fiancé and we had a pretty good experience. We were greeted pretty quickly when we entered, although we got kind of a stuffy, did you make a reservation? We started with the pimento cheese. It was tasty and the portion was good. Next we each had a salad- my fiancé had the Caesar and was pleased. I was disappointed there was only one option without anchovies or bacon, so I had the market salad, which was ok. It was described as having red leaf lettuce, but was made with another variety, and the tomatoes werent great, being that its February. For our entrees we had the red fish special with winter veggies and horseradish, which was well-cooked overall very good, and the gnocchi which was also very good.Good atmosphere, service, and food. Well probably be back.
Food was excellent. Friendly and prompt service.
Lovely. Excellent cuisine and superb service.
Good food and service
The food and service was absolutely wonderful
Food, ambience and service were amazing!!
Fantastic meal with great service!
Good French option. A bit in the pricey side.
Great service..Great food!
For a company party. Catered well.
Great food, excellent service. Best part - the coffee was amazing.
Delicious French cuisine, classy environment, happy service, and excellently balanced flavors.
Caters amazing staff that are incredibly willing to help make sure your wants and needs are met. Very polite and respectful with a friendly feeling. The Tomato Bisque is phenomenal! And I was also advised to try the lemon-butter cake.I will definitely be coming back for their 3 Course Meal for $25 on a Friday or Saturday and will bring a couple friends to enjoy the meal too!Atmosphere is definitely that of a fine-dining restraunt (even for their lunch options) - I guess it caters to the white collar/business class of RVA that doesnt work too far from the restaurant.Looking forward to a sit-down dine-in experience here.
Great beef dip... Was expecting a little more creole though...
Great but fancy
