If the original wife and husband are there this is where you want to be. I am very selective about food, and once again when the husband and wife were there one of the best subs Ive had down here. Including the tuna Bomb, the Chicken/steak bomb and I think it was the gator bomb. All were fantastic. Now just being honest I have been there twice when the old couple were not there and it wasnt even close to the same. Which is why Im giving 3 stars.

Maybe this is a developed regional taste. (There are plenty of those up north). But after the first bite of the steak bomb, it had a really muted flavor. Just sorta bland meat and sauce. Great service, friendly fast staff earned all 3 stars. But I went for the food so the search continues...

First time friendly food was great bread sauce and meat was flavorful tender and soft I got the bomb sub BUT ITS THE BOMB

Ordered a Cajun chicken 12in got a steak. 2nd time this happened. I wouldve gone back but I was too far away to turn around. Learn to listen people.

Excellent subs, the bacon steak is A1. Fries are good too. They’re on the Uber eats app so this gets delivered no problem. Friendly service, quick turnaround.

My honest opinion on their steak subs isnt good. The roll sucked up everything and it was so soggy if the bun was toasted it might not have been so bad. But the steak was way to grisly for me. I ordered the garlic cheese fries Im not sure if the seasoning wasnt enough or what but they had very little taste. Crunchy and cooked right but no flavor.

I have eaten here 3 times this week because the subs are the best in town by far!!! Best steak and cheese. And by far the best teriyaki chicken sub you will ever get. It is a locally owned gem and I will be a continued customer. The owners are a delight and extremely pleasant and fast. Thank you for a great experience. 5/5 stars.

The subs here are the best! They make everyone elses seem so inferior! They are not stingy with the fixings and they just taste so good. I would eat their daily!

The subs are decent. I have 2 big problems:1. They ask for a tip when they print your receipt2. They got rid of the drink machine

Placed an online order really looking forward to trying the food. Showed up to find the place closed. After being ignored for 15 minutes while another customer banged on the door, someone came out and said they were not open. We told them we ordered and paid online, and they said wed be refunded. No apologies or anything.

Placed order online for 6 subs with fries and drinks. Food was not ready and needed to wait for 30 extra minutes beyond pickup window. When back home found most of the sandwiches missing toppings, i.e. lettuce, tomato, pickles... Due to taking so long to make, only made 1 or 2 subs at a time, most subs completely cold even though we only live 5-10 minutes away.

Absolutely the best service Ive had at a sub shop in my entire life. Food was wonderful too.

The staff are nice... the sub was very messy..the gator... staff did not wear gloves or wash hands between preparing each meal and touching other things... the cook did not properly wear her mask, she wore below her chin... with everything going on ...cleanliness and safety are extremely important.. I will not be returning.

The first few times I ate here the food was great. Unfortunately when I ordered here recently the sub was pretty bland and this was extra upsetting because I was charged 17 dollars for a medium sub combo. I left one extra star because the service and fries were still pretty good and the restaurant was visibly clean.

This place has amazing subs. The owner so nice, tasty fries just be warned they tell you they got good food understand that is some big portions good food.

1st time visitor tonight, been working late nights and didnt feel like cooking. Got there a bit too late, but was let in and given great customer service and made a delicious Cajun steak sub despite it being closing time. Will return again soon!!!

I had a chicken bomb and my wife had a triple deli classic. Both with fries. Everything was absolutely delicious. The fries are uniquely crisp but not dry. The grilled veggies in the bomb are full of flavor but not greasy. We highly recommend this place. The prices are very reasonable too.

This place is awesome! I have been coming here for years and years back when it used to be Stuffys and now that it is Jon Smiths. This great shops location has not changed and it still has the same friendly devoted owners. There is a great variety of quality sandwiches with either chips or fries being offered on the side. Now that I work nearby, I find myself enjoying lunch here about once a week.

They really do have the best grilled chicken sub. Everything is cooked & prepared fresh on a grill. Their shoestring fries are better than most! We go out of our way for this place - highly recommend!!

Ordered the Tuna bomb and the Steak bomb (using uber eats), and both subs were delicious! I love bacon, but was weary about it being on a tuna sub; however the flavor was superb. Will def be ordering from here again!

The food here is absolutely delicious and has never been less than five star quality. They blow all the other local sub shops out of the water. I was super excited when I saw they were available on Door Dash as well, and can confirm that the subs held up beautifully to delivery and were just as good. Their fries are awesome and as good as (if not better) than McDonalds. You wont catch me going anywhere else for a sub but here!

The Food was Great. Very fresh the Owner Aaron made my food. Great guy very personal. The prices are a lil expense but the quality of the food and Service is worth every Penny.

Great steak subs, loaded with meat, on fresh, soft bread. Laying on the floor now in a food coma.Edit: The last here was well before the pandemic. It was a Sunday about an hour before closing and we had driven here to get some sandwiches. There were two people working and they had the floor all the way up to the front door flood with soapy water and were mopping. Approaching the door they had just stared blankly. After getting about ~10ft from the door we just turned around and left. Had written about this on the site prior but had never gotten a response. Unfortunate since we enjoyed the food here.

Horrible. Just Horrible. This place has nothing on Penn Station Subs located down the street. They claim to have the best fries. Well the best fries dont come out of the freezer. Their competitor has a tub of potatoes and their fries are 10X better than John Smith. Comparing Chicken Subs, John Smith fares better than the fry comparison. But JS chicken looked like it was not chicken breast. Taste wise, their competitors Chicken Sub was better. I would rate John Smith as the worst sub shop of the national or regional chains. Their people were nice and friendly. But the food comes out of freezer and there is just no competition when everyone else makes fresh or cuts it fresh in a deli environment.

I really enjoyed my Turkey Wrap that I ordered for lunch. The staff is extremely friendly! Food was made fresh and fast. Love how the wrap was grilled! Will be visiting again.

My coworkers and I absolutely LOVE this place, so much so that we have eaten there two days this week. I personally got the Bacon Steak Sub and the Bacon Chicken Sub. BOTH were SO flavorful and tasty. You cant beat their combo of a sub, fries, and drink!

Worst experience I have ever had. Ordered through grub hub only to have the wrong food delivered. Called the restaurant 46 times and every time it stated the phone line had been disconnected. After 46 times of calling a girl answered who says she was the “manager.” I asked her what was going on with the phones and she claimed she was trying to figure out what was wrong with them. Well turns out it’s more like she can’t handle working there by herself. I explained to her my order was wrong and I had already waited an hour for it to be delivered. She stated that she was the “only one working and my order was sent to the Uber driver instead of grub hub.” She told me I would have to re order through grub hub to get my food. Why would I pay grub hub again only to wait another hour? Well I ended up driving 25 minutes to pick up my food for the girl to tell me she can handle working there by herself. Well, obviously not when you’ve messed up multiple orders. She also claimed that really the phones were all busy and she had too much going on. (Well that’s not what she originally told me). I showed the owner how many times I called (46 total) I have never had such a horrible experience at this place and I hope they get rid of her. She was HORRIBLE. I find it funny that after the owner got there the phone began working again after I complained. Never will I go back to this place.

Found this place by accident. Used to be called something else. Food was good had the steak bomb with fries. As soon as I walked in I was greeted. Clean and very friendly staff. They do Uber eats and other delivery drivers.

I will never go to this place again. Ordered the steak hickory smoke. Disgusting. More bread than meat. The hickory flavor leaves a bad taste in your mouth creating a nasty after taste. Ordered from here twice, once from Grubhub and one from Doordash. I work 2 miles from here and both times the grease from the steak and cheese i ordered had soaked through the double wrapped paper and the bag. The sub bread was drenched with grease. The sandwich itself was very bland. The fries have been cold both times with no seasoning. Wont order from here again. Waste of $17
