The milkshake was delicious! Iβm lactose intolerant & there were lots of options for me π I also recommend splitting a shake between 3+ people - itβs a lot (which makes it worth the price)! The staff was so accommodating and sweet despite it being ten minutes before closing. Definitely returning! :)
I wanted to treat my daughter to an extra special treat so we came here. Great service and even though the extravagant milkshakes were pricey they were worth it with all the giant toppings. You must bring your appetite or plan on sharing. I cant wait to go again even if just for the cookies that are very delicious and texture remained the same even after refrigerating.
Ordered online, called when I arrived, and picked up within minutes of arrival to meet this peanut butter chocolate dream! Easy, seamless, and friendly experience on a Sunday afternoon. I high recommend sharing!! While tasty, it is enormous and super sweet! If youre appetite isnt too big, Id order the shake or pie alone. Both were delectable!
TLDR; unless you REALLY want a pic for social media itβs overpriced and doesnβt taste good. Go buy the ice cream from Kroger.Purchased a kids cup and a cake shake, cost was $19. The decor is cool and pretty simple, a decent amount of seats for a dessert place. The ice cream is not homemade, instead it is Tillamook ice cream. This threw me off due to the price of everything. At these prices I shouldnβt be able to just go purchase a pint of the flavored ice cream for SO much less. I proactively asked for a separate to go container for the cake because I figured I wouldnβt eat the cake but told the cashier I wanted the shake how it normally came. After a 10 minute wait I received the shake as it looks in the photo with the cake in an open container - idk how i was supposed to take it home with it wide open - on the side - so no Instagram worthy pics which is the whole reason the price is jacked up Iβm assuming. Took another 4-5 minutes for my daughter to get her scoop. The taste of the shake can only be described as sweet, sweet milk with a taste of a sprinkle every other sip. Thereβs no real βcakeβ flavor to the shake at all. The cake was a simple bakery style white cake with sprinkles. I was extremely disappointed by this experience and for the price. I barely drank the shake and took a few bites of cake just to feel like i paid for something and we left. We wonβt be returning. Itβs not worth the price or the wait.
I had family visiting from out of town, so I decided to take them to one of my favorite dessert places, Coco & Hazel. The baker that makes the churros and delivers them daily hadnβt made it to the restaurant, so they suggested the Mexican cookie sandwich, which was delicious! Before I left, one of the workers ( a woman w cute purple hair) told me the churros had just been delivered! She made sure I had my favorite churro ice cream sandwich before leaving! I canβt say enough about there delicious ice cream, and top notch service!
Coco + Hazel is worth trying to say youve been there. The MHB has really great PB Pie that is a worthy dessert in its own right. The milkshake was a bit over-milked, and whatever they use to affix the peanuts and crushed m&ms to the rim isnt the tastiest. But honestly the dessert was worth trying just for the presentation. It looked amazing and was a fun treat! Two of us couldnt finish the one super-shake, so keep that in mind!
Prices are very expensive, 30 dollars for 2 shakes. They were beautiful but the flavors were just sweet, not tempting to take another sip. That being said, they were ok but not amazing. We were also told to sit where we liked but all of the tables were dirty. Overall it was just a so so experience and I wouldnt go back.
Since we were passing thru Richmond, we got a milkshake and a cookie. The strawberry milkshake and chocolate chip cookie were okay, had better elsewhere. We placed our order online, called when we arrived, asked can they bring our order to our vehicle in the parking lot, they said that they will bring it outside and place it on the table outside of their front door. I saw someone bring our order out, place it on the table and the person went back inside, I went and picked up our order from the table, returned to my vehicle and left the parking lot. My sister in law recommended this place to us. I saw tables outside their restaurant where a few people were eating their desserts.
Staff was super friendly, but the milkshake was inedible. Was excited to try a vegan shake, but waited 30 minutes for one shake while everyone who ordered after me got theirs. Staff apologized about the wait, so that was nice. Paid $1 for each extra topping but they all got blended inside which turned the shake into a thick chunky paste. Took a few sips since I spent $14 on it and didnβt want to waste my money, but ultimately threw the whole thing out. Not worth the price & wait.
You basically order online and pick it up like takeout now, but we didnβt know at the time. When we got there on a rainy Sunday eveningβ the experience was different than expected. We saw people sitting outside on vibrant, coral colored picnic tables and small tables near the entrance. When we came closer we noticed that the door was blocked by small tables and there was a QR code. A sign said said to order online. So I scanned the code and ordered our items for us. We got the cereal chocolate chip cookie cookie milkshake and a strawberry chocolate milkshake. They were pricey $9.00 and $7.00 respectively (plus tax).We sat on one of the tables outside. A lady brought us our shakes and put them on the table that was by the entrance. My cookie milkshake almost had too many mini chocolate chip cereal bits, and it tasted alright.I liked the strawberry chocolate milkshake moreβ it had whipped cream and a cherry on top (we asked for two extra cups & split the shakes). The plus is that the shakes were very large. Overall the everything was ok but could have been a lot better.
If youre feeling particularly indulgent or just want to spoil yourself, try one of the speciality milkshakes. Personally, I like the one that comes with a big slice of birthday cake on top.
Their shakes are out of this world! It is nice to see a dessert place with good vegan options as well! Will be back!
I come here every Sunday for church the pastor and his lovely family treat us so well. Perfect church for a perfect little town. I love it here.
Modernly friendly little shop with delicious milkshakes and not just your typical shake. Its a dessert and milkshake all in one that looks as amazing as it tastes. They offer a variety of pastry/cookie sweets, ice cream and coffee too. If you like ice cream definitely check them out. They also have outside seating. The shop is tucked away in a little strip mall.
This is my second time coming here. Both times were great !!!! Excellent customer service. I will be back soon.
Great drinks, desserts...... very large drinks you can definitely share them!
I just literally had the best milkshake! They made it exactly how I requested it. I had a chocolate milkshake with peanut butter drizzle, peanuts and whip cream, was delicious! They were out of several items but I think because it was a busy Sunday, everyone out enjoying the weather... and ice cream.
My friends and I made a special trip from out of town to visit this place and it did NOT disappoint. Iβm not even a big milkshake fan, but we got two of the specialty milkshakes and they were delicious! They were very accommodating to our friend who cannot have a lot of dairy (we know it sounds like a ridiculous request at an ice cream place), and were more than happy to make her milkshake with coconut milk instead of regular milk. The coffee was pretty good too. Just a good old fashioned caramel macchiato, no frills...which was perfect in conjunction with a sweet dessert. Next time Iβm up that way I will definitely make a trip back!
This place is great. Have gone twice. Once I got horchata and a churro. Which were good but could have had more cinnamon. Then went again with my co workers. Three of us got different shakes. They were all huge and super tasty. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Am planning to go back regularly.
Customer service was horrible. Wanted some of the fancy shakes that were shown online. But the cashier never took the time to explain. However we still proceed to spend money. Shakes were great. But wonβt return due to poor customer service
The specialty milkshakes were bigger and better than we imagined! Everyone around us got different things and seemed very pleased.
A bit pricey but the kids enjoyed it
In the beginning of my experience with Coco + Hazel I had a couple things I found impacted my experience negatively but after speaking with the owner and seeing how much care she puts into every single customer I will definitely be giving this place a second shot! Thanks Chelle, I really admire your work ethic!
The employees were rude and acted as if we were inconveniencing them by ordering while they were cleaning to close at 8 pm. The store doesnβt close until 9pm. Before even placing our order, more than half the menu is out of stock. I ordered the blackout which comes with 2 brownies on top of the cup and when carrying them over to my table, the brownies fell. When I told the girl my brownies fell, she looked at me confused and asked me βso....did you want another one?β And then had to tell her other coworkers that βI wanted another because they fellβ before actually going to the kitchen to retrieve it. Itβs basically an ice cream shop that is managed by a bunch of teenagers. The environment was just very unwelcoming and I will not be returning.
This was my first time here and the customer service was outstanding. Everything was also beautifully made! We will be returningπ¦πβ€
Great place I highly recommend if your ever in this part of town, great ice cream, shakes, cakes and sandwiches . Come give them a try yummy yum yummy .
You basically come here just to take photos for social media. The cake, regardless of what kind, is always dry/stale and tastes nowhere near as good as it looks. Youd be happier buying cake at the grocery store.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! By far the best milkshakes in Richmond and so fun with the desserts the add on top! My favorite is the Mexican Hot Chocolate and the Cake Batter but honestly Iβve never had something bad there.
Presentation was nice, my βice cream sandwichβ was just two cookies laid next to a couple scoops of ice cream. (Maybe they mis-read that I wanted it assembled?) Overall, itβs incredibly overpriced for mediocre ice cream.
Teagan is the best! The food, coffe and tea were great! The crazy cake milkshakes are insane!
Very elaborate milkshakes, and amazing flavors! The only slight downside is the price $10+, but itβs to be expected for the amount of milkshake and items on/in it.
Way too expensive if you go by yourself. I ended up wasting half of it bc its just a lot! I purchased the Oaxacan which the Mexican hot chocolate cookie was super hard and not much to write home about, wasted pretty much that whole cookie. This place is good for effect and experience but definitely go with someone to share if you get a milkshake. Staff was nice but I did notice that some staff wore the same gloves to prepare as they did to handle payment which in my book is a NO!
Awesome dessert an awesome customer service.
Was a great first experience. Get what you pay for! Wife loved it and I suprised her. I told her that we were going into the hΓ rdware store nextdoor when we first pulled up
Got two crazy milkshakes. The milkshakes had a brownie on the top of one and a peanut butter chocolate pie on top of the other. They were delicious but very pricey. It was $31 for both.
Freaking Amazing! We should all treat ourselves more and this is the place! ππ₯°
Sorry but not more than show . reservation procedure unfriendly . poor verity of flavors.
Shakes are amazing, definitely returning often.
A cozy, warm place with very welcoming staff! Great menu n very satisfying food!!! Overall a must visit!!
Pretty overpriced for even the regular milkshakes. Paid $13 for a simple vegan milkshake. (they charge $2 extra for vegan ππ) probably wont be back, but it was a cool experience .
Coconut milkshake was definitely worth the drive!
Awesome place to treat yourself and the family to!!
Social distancing was good it was clean ice cream was great
Very good Milkshakes gotta order early if u want specialties thou
The breakfast sandwiches are top notch. Our favorite in RVA!
I ordered a Candy Land (vanilla) best thing ever the cotton did fall on the table but it was ok
Very unique milkshakes bigger than you can imagine. A little pricey, but the experience is worth it. Would recommend for a special event or outing (not an everyday place).
Such a quaint atmosphere, and the food is absolutely delicious! A little pricey, bit worth it for the quality and aesthetic
I love this place! The coffee is delicious and the service is super friendly. The sweet treats are also pretty dreamy. The prices are comparable to other local shops, if not competitive for the quality of the goods.
Friendly associate recommended the Cake Shake. It came out about 5 minutes later. They get an βAβ for presentation. The cake sits on top of a frosted mug with sprinkles around the rim. Weβll give them a βC-β for the cake. It was a stale disappointment. Milkshake gets an βA-β.TLDR: $14 is a lot for a milkshake. Youβll pay more for presentation than taste, unfortunately.
I absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is clean, crisp and inviting with a sweet aroma! When me and my best friend arrived we were taken aback by the beautiful atmosphere and the smiling staff. I like how the staff saw that we were puzzled (because it was our first time so it was a bit overwhelming), and immediately made us feel welcomed, gave recommendations and laughter! Most milkshake treats are about $14 depending on what you get. The piece of cake on top of my milkshake was stale but I still give them 5 stars because it was overall 5 star service and the milkshake was good! Awesome job ladies!
Glass cups not allowed in outdoor seating :(
Coco + Hazel is such a gem. Their coffee is amazing. Their desserts are amazing. But their staff is the most amazing thing about the place. What a group of superstars! From the owner to the baristas, they make you instantly feel welcome and valued as a customer.
Service was slow food was ok
What in the world.I heard that they opened like few months ago.I was so lucky that I found this place. The cafe is well designed and pretty. people who are working in the cafe are really polite and nice. Highly recommend.
The presentation is good but the baked goods lack flavor and could use improvement. I ordered the cinnamon roll. The texture was extremely thick with hardly any flavor and the icing was too thick..some of the baked goods were obviously mildly stale.
These desserts are over the top so come prepared to share. Its way more sugar than any one person should consume on their own if you get one of their signature milkshakes and they are priced accordingly as well ($14 each). I opted for the churro ice cream sandwich with butter pecan ice cream. Quite yummy and much more manageable.
Came for one of the unique shakes, unfortunately arriving 10 minutes before closing means they stop taking orders for them. So we watched them make the shakes ordered minutes earlier and had plain ice cream. Turned others away after us. Must be nice to have such a great business that you do not need additional customers!
