Lovely coffee shop in Point Richmond that offers a wide range of drinks and snacks at reasonable prices. The interior is quiet cute with lots of seats, some couches and even a small second-hand book shelf. Additional seatings at the front and in the back patio.I stopped by after running across the bridge to refuel: a PB&J and a chocolate cookie, yummy! Service was friendly and the overall vibe was relaxing. Highly recommended to folks after the long hike/run/ride through the bridge.
What a great local coffee shop! This is really a place where you can see the diversity of the community. There are old and young, white and people of color, all races, LGBTQ! We need more places like this! Plus great snacks and drinks. Hopefully they’ll find a good new owner.
Beautiful spot with very affordable prices. I had goat cheese toast 🥰 so good! and sweet bee tea was phenomenal
Cute coffee shop In Richmond! I’m so glad I found this place! I will definitely be back. The food is great and the drinks are too!
Stopped on a bike ride with friends for a pick-me-up just before crossing the Richmond bridge. Bean juice was top notch and snacks were decadent as well. Service was kind and also very clear regarding their distancing protocols.Had a funky hiccup with my Apple Pay. When I noticed an erroneous charge a few days later, a quick email exchange solved it quickly, without complication or drama.Looking forward to coming back post-pandemic.
Great atmosphere, good coffee, friendly staff. They have a nice patio and good muffins too
Great coffee, real (and well pulled) espresso. Cozy atmosphere.Cute neighborhood - definitely worth visiting.
I love getting the Vietnamese Coffee. Its made with espresso and sweetened condensed milk. They offer other milk options, such as soy, almond, and oat. If youre hungry, they have avocado toast, sandwiches, and first come, first serve pastries. Support your local businesses, always!
Found this little gem in the neighborhood that I have never been to. The environment and decor of the cafe are very relaxing. The cupcake and tea are ok. I think its mainly for you to relax. It was pretty quiet when my friend and I went. This will be a go to meet up place for me and my friend from now on! I love the seat that I got! Go check it out if you are in the neighborhood!
This place is amazing !! Great staff, great drinks ! I love the their dirty chai latte. So good !!! Point Richmond is such a beautiful little hidden gem too ❤️❤️❤️
Had the best mocha Ive ever tried, here. Outstanding!
I love the lattes here, perfect pick me up in the morning. I havent had any of there food options yet but they all look delicious.
Love this place. The back patio is my favorite part. Good wifi and a safe space to work outdoors as we wait out the rest of this pandemic. Kudos to the team for being there of us.
Delicious Taras Organic ice cream, which is made in Oakland, and unique tea blends
Great. Early Saturday coffee and scone.Quint cozy clean Good coffee
Nice local place.
Toast with PB, honey, and cinnamon sugar was sublime. And the Vietnamese coffee was great.
Great coffee, awesome staff always in good spirits, and love the back patio with its kid book themed table names and peculiar decor.
I enjoyed my latte (with soy)! Hella good! I’ll be back tomorrow!
My friend and I rode our bikes from Albany down to the bay and then north. We decided to check out Point Richmond and then went into the old time town of Richmond for a small bite.It was my first time at Kaleidescape Coffee. It is cute as a button! People were lined up to get their treats. Besides coffees, mochas, and hot chocolate, they have chai tea, and matcha tea. They also have avocado toast, and desserts including vegan options. Now lets have drum roll for the ice cream by Tara...I ended up getting a scoop of geranium, and one of lavender ice cream. They were a departure from the darkest chocolate ice cream I can find. Those flavors were very light, and delicious. The building itself is made of brick from the old brick factory in Richmond. The service was sweet--like the ice cream!!! The bathroom even had style. I am so happy to see that this place is making it during the pandemic
Such warm and friendly staff, absolutely excellent lemonade float with ice cream!
Very cute logo and nice latte
Reasonable toast with goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and pesto.
Friendly staff, good coffee. Patio is now open, with lots of tables for working/studying.
Very pleasant socially distanced outdoor seating during Covid times.
The Vietnamese coffee is on point and our barista was super nice!
This place is great. Friendly service, good products.
Pretty funky place but always busy so theyre doing something right. Espresso is fine, nothing to write home about. The chai is good. Ive had better customer service elsewhere but its not terrible. Appreciate the selection of vegan baked goods and menu items. Doesnt really give me the cozy coffee house vibes, but its probably the closest to that youll get in the area.
Love the people, coffee and this space. Local gem!
Great cafe in pt. Richmond. Family friendly which can be a hit or miss if yoibare trying to study. Time slots vary from story time and open mic to study hall and musicians.Drip coffee selection is ethically sourced and delicious; I enjoy my coffee black here.Iced Vietnamese is a perfect treat on warm summer day.Mexican mocha is pretty good but I have gotten various spiciness depending on barista. At the front of the business, you may find two tables woth a couple of chairs for outdoor seating. Dogs welcomed here and there is even a doggy water bowl and place to tie Fido. The interior is soothing with brick walls, lights, board games and even books for sale/perusal.Come get coffee. Come study. Come back for more. Kaleidoscope.
A light and sleek room with lots of space for sitting and working, reading, or chatting. Theres a back patio, and a wall of books and games. The place has a wholesome, organic vibe. Ive only ordered coffee there a handful of times, and it was quite good. But the last time I went, it literally took 20 minutes to make and serve a latte. Enjoyable, but not for the hurried.
Love this cafe! Nice patio area and interesting snack/pastry options and tea as well. Today they had a matcha affogato with gelato (I chose lavender) which made for a great combo.
Great place friendly locally sourced
Took 30 minutes to place an order with just 2 parties ahead of us....
WOW! Good COFFEE and Starbucks is now gone so....
Enjoyable spot and good food and coffee
Good Avocado Toast, but not impressed with the racial division and non inclusive posters. Starbucks is gone, so only option for a good latte
Delightful little coffee shop with delicious ice creams. The little area with couches was great for lounging and theres toys and games to keep kids busy. I also enjoyed the books for sale with varied pricing.
Good vibes
Good coffee pleasant service. With Starbucks in point Richmond out of business its a win for coffee drinkers
I go there often and love it!! I usually go just to get coffee and meet with a friend or hang out for a few minutes. The coffee is great, the people are great! Just a pleasant spot to go.
Great coffee shop top work at. My favorite ambiance in the east bay, seemingly untouched by the space crunch on the area. Tasty coffee and live music!
Welcoming local place, supportive of the arts, with a fun menu and good medium-roast coffee
Excellent service and delicious avocado toast!!!
Great ice cream though slightly pricey with plenty of unique flavors and also a good place to study with plenty of tables with good table space. Not a fan of their coffee though personally thats just me. Their open mic night performances can be a bit loud if youre sensitive to sound but its not every day so thats fine. Really friendly and quick staff
Great Port in a storm. Always looking for places to hang in point Richmond when the bridge is blocked and Im better off hunkering down for a while. Found this place the other day. Comfortable, spacious, fast reliable wifi, clean, accessible rest facilities. Id rate the coffee as only fair, but I did not order an espresso drink. Beer selection looked good, but that will need to be another stop.
Nice Hangout place
Great coffee spot in PR, with a tasty menu of bites to eat. Comfortable vibe makes it a chill place to hang out. Large bookshelf of reading material and I think I saw a small stage set up. Gonna come back to check out an open mic night or something soon. 🐱
Nice coffee shop to study. There is wifi and a few outlets with a nice amount of seating. There is also additional seating in the back for days where the weather is nice. The baristas are very friendly. It is a nice place. Come visit!
Just a good place to eat. Waitress was nice, friendly and on top of things. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere with two TVs going. My breakfast was very tasty and the price was reasonable. I would happily recommend this place to anyone.
Kaleidoscope Coffee has been a wonderful addition to downtown Point Richmond. Having grown up in the point, I was very sad to see Hidden City Cafe leave, but Kaleidoscope has done an amazing job creating a space that is warm, welcoming, and community orientated. The interior is gorgeous, the seating comfy, and the food and coffee are fantastic. I would definitely recommend stopping by and supporting local small businesses!
This is a Point Richmond Gem!! Great cafe. Wonderful staff. Bring a book. Play a game. Drop in and hang out!
Very cozy place to come with friends and just relax. We had lemonade and iced mint tea. Service was prompt and friendly. There were a lot of tables with people working on their computers. We sat near the wall library which some of the books with yellow dots were free for the borrowing. and the wall art for sale was very interesting.Made friends with a lady that had a small poodle mix dog in her purse/bag.Parking is street and on a lazy weekend day, it was a great place to be.
I visited this morning for the time. Its such a great space, you almost forget they sell great coffee and other nibbles. Its great for meetings with friends and as a work space. They even have a nice seating area with books that can purchased for a small fee. The staff that helped this morning was also really friendly. I hope I get to visit more often.
Great break away from working at the point. Solid drip coffee and a large improvement over the K-Cup machine most offices have. Plus way less waste created. Highly recommend.
Love this place.
They have good food good coffee and in some days they have a love band
This place has the best lattes and avocado toast. The lattes arent too sweet. They make their own flavoring for the drinks. The avocado toast has lots of pepper and olive oil. The employees are cheerful and friendly. Cant find one thing to complain about.
Tremendously good food and drink! Bright and safe atmosphere with positive energy. Story time and open mic nights beaming with creativity. Whether gathering a group for game night, popping in for a morning coffee or winding down in the evening its always a treat. At first glance you can tell a lot of passion and thoughtfulness went into creating this space, and the cheerful staff are a reflection of this fact.
I ordered the quiche, while it was very tasty it was ridiculously small. The churro muffin was really good. But if you are looking for good value, look elsewhere.
Poor Richmond. Where does a kid or anyone go to hang with wifi friendly comfort? Kaleidoscope in Point Richmond...forgot your charge cord? They have one for you..comfy chairs and big tables for call your friends...meet them here, connect oh and great coffee!
Wonderful coffee, great atmosphere.
The counter was busy but I didnt have to wait for a long time. The ice tea is flavorless, but it was cold on a hot day. I like to be able to walk to the seashore without having to drive and park to find food. The store was comfortable with lots of seating but not many books on the shelf. I think that the bookshelves should be stocked since there are so many thrift stores full of books in the Bay Area.
Amazing gem in old town historic Richmond! Sweet and helpful staff, beautiful exposed brick interior with some cool decor and lots of cool books to read and kaleidoscopes for kids and adults to play with. Comfy couches and lots of seating!
Just delightful. A favorite place to visit for me and my daughter. The coffee, tea, cocoa are delicious, but we also love their quiches, salad, and bakery items. They very thoughtfully have PB&J sandwiches wrapped and ready to grab, if you just have no time or little cash. (They use creamy instead of crunchy, which is of course wrong, but I still like em. :-) These all would be more than sufficient, but Kaleidoscope also is an ice cream shop, book shop and swap, performance space, and general comfy hangout locale. And the people are helpful and friendly. Theres no reason to buy your coffee from the mega-chain down the street.
I have been coming to Kaleidoscope since I was about 8 years-old, and now Im bringing my children here. There have been a few changes in the years. It used to be group led and children only, letting parents watch through 2-way mirrors at how their kids played. Now the parents get to play and create alongside their children (at least the fun parents do).
Delightful cafe with a wonderful ambiance. Lots of fun cool events scheduled as well.
Chai latte is spicy!
It has vegan stuff for all those do good ers. It plays the music just loud enough for you to notice but not let it distract you. Most people go here to study so its appreciated that you stay quiet. I love it here.
Magical coffee shop. Got great coffee, with housemade vanilla shots. Totally delicious. Everyone who worked there was helpful and nice, esp a pretty fairy girl with a smile to brighten your day.
Nice atmosphere. Excellent coffee nice tables Outback friendly people
Wonderful gathering place. Lots of community oriented events all week. Great coffee, treats, dishes and desserts including delicious choices of ice cream. Free tasters too!
Just went out for dessert with some friends, and surprise! Best freaking artisan ice cream ever!! And Ive been to all the artsy joints in SF and LA and Austin etc. This place is worth a trip to Point Richmond, a very nice little neighborhood youve never heard of. Eat this ice cream and you might decide to move there. Oh they also have coffee, tea and food.
Fun, queer-friendly coffee shop in Richmond. Has a very locally owned vibe and a nice, open atmosphere. Great for sitting at a table and working or cozying up in comfy arm chairs for chats.I tried the Mexi Mocha, which I didnt particularly like but only because it had cardamom in it, which I should have known better. Id happily go back and try a different drink because the vibe was so nice.
Great place to.meet friends and have coffee. They also have a monthly Drag Show every 4th Friday from 7pm - 9pm
I love coming here on the weekends. Its so cozy and the drinks are delightful. Plus, they have board games and books!
