A very clean and cozy coffee shop that offers only pour overs for their brewed coffee which is great that way you get the best flavour of the beans. The espressos looked nice and the breve was on point although just slightly bitter. They also offer mill alternatives. I just wish they had more seating space as seating is limited
Awesome coffee shop! Had to walk around a little bit to find it (but that’s because we were from out of town). Enjoyed their pour over & it’s next to some other great eateries that we walked past. Great atmosphere as well.
Such nice guys, cant thank them enough. I walked in right as they closed, too late to buy coffee. He could see the disappointment in my eyes, and headache in my skull, and gave me from the left over brew for free :) Im so grateful, thank you
Love their espresso, it’s one of the top 3 in Richmond (in my opinion). The people that work here are also really cool.
Consistently delicious, locally roasted coffee. All of their locations are really nice and so is their staff. Definitely recommend.
I would like to go here on a day in springtime when they air is cool and they have those huge French doors thrown open to let the outside in and the scent of espresso wafting out to Shockoe Skip.
Amazing coffee, industrial atmosphere, very clean, relaxing. Tasty assortment of baked goods as well. Truly a hidden gem, modern and alternative vibes perfect for college kids or a coffee enthusiast. Would give it more than five stars if I could.
Fantastic experience! The staff at Lamplighter is knowledgeable and more than friendly. Always on the cutting edge of things here in Richmond. I love their new CBD offerings with any of their beverages!
Cozy coffee shop with very friendly staff and a calm atmosphere. It isnt really big so I wouldnt encourage you to take up a ton of space while working but definitely a great place for a cup of coffee.
My go to coffee place here in Richmond. Very on par with Stumptown. Their coffee has a very distinctive flavor.
Smells great as soon as you walk in. I had a ginger iced tea and it was just what I wanted for an afternoon. Very friendly service and plenty of places to sit of you need to catch up on work
Chose this spot while passing through based on previous reviews. Was surprised how good the mocha was. If they were any food options, they must be limited bc they didnt pop out at me. Service was a bit slow. But I went for the mocha, it was excellent, and thats why I gave it 5 stars.
I get their coffee about once per week. Like the staff. Simple cafe layout, easy to sit and work - cool bar looking out the front window.
Single origin espresso shots and awesome mugs for sale, this is the most coffee focused of the lamplighter locations.
Nice little coffee shop. The service there was great, the coffee was even better. If you like quality, definitely give it a try.
Enjoyed a Barista and Coffee Fundamental classes today. The instruction and course materials were world class. Also found several coffee roasts by Lamplighter that I enjoyed and took one home. Looking forward to returning for great coffee and more coffee classes.
Located in the previously industrial northwest section of Richmond, you might miss it if you werent looking for it. The coffee is great: Bitter with a nice, semi-sweet, green finish. There is not much selection in the way of pastries, but they have your essentials (donuts, various croissants, etc.). The interior is exposed and painted brick with seating for 24; A nicely renovated industrial space.
Great atmosphere and coffee. I had just arrived at the Greyhound bus station 10 minutes walk away and fittingly got the Thyme Traveler Latte was delicious. Its a cool little neighborhood to explore if you have a long layover.
In town on a business trip and decided to stop by this Lamplighter Coffee Roasters for a hot chocolate. The staff were very friendly, and the interior is very nice. I especially liked the little touch done to my hot chocolate by the staff; she created one of those lovely latte artwork using milk! Of course it was so lovely I had to take a picture of it and post it on Facebook and Instagram.
Some of the best espresso drinks I’ve had in Richmond have come out of this shop. The vibe of this place is a little odd; music sometimes makes you feel like you’ve walked into a memorial service. Baristas tend to be less than friendly And don’t really go out of their way to provide good service. They do free cuppings here on Monday afternoons which is a neat feature.
Lamplighter is a decent coffeehouse in a growing area. They have a good selection of coffee and a small assortment of snacks. This is a good place for a small meeting or just to chat. They have free WiFi. Even though there is no dedicated parking lot, parking on the street is usually pretty easy. You should find a spot within a couple hundred feet. Sometimes the place gets packed, but it is hard to tell which days that will occur. Baristas are friendly. Give it a shot if you are in the area.
Great atmosphere and excellent coffee. The barista was happy to talk coffee and just chat generally. The turntable was a nice touch. My only qualm was that the venue could get a little crowded, but in this case there was a wedding party going on.
Lamplighter is a great local coffee shop. They have the standard cups, but they also sell some tasty and affordably priced cupcakes and donuts if youre peckish. The baristas are really polite. Seating can be a bit limited at peak hours.
Amazing food. Fast service. Lively conversations, a place that exudes humanity. The Moroccan chickpea soup is superb, the Motley C(Reuben) is sooo gooo. Great selection of coffee. I will be back!!!
A classic weve got some great beans and were going to sell them for a lot of money place. Few options. Coffee was exceptional! Above average feeling environment with an OK amount of seating. There is a nice table in the back with proper chairs that I would recommend if youre working for a while as I believe its the only place for power. wifi / internet password : Tallbike
Nice quiet space in Scotts addition.
I got the chai and loved it! Not many chais are vegan, so I was delighted to know theirs was! The service was great and it wasnt too expensive- typical cafe prices! Only downside is that I want to go all of the time now!
The barista here made me the best tea latte (Chinese breakfast tea) that Ive ever had! I was in Richmond looking for an apartment; would love living within walking distance of this place!
It was great coffee, but after the baristo said he hoped I never came back, I decided not to. Stay classy, fellas!Sorry to everyone else there, you presumably still make the the best cup of coffee in RVA.
Cool little coffe shop. Quiet. Friendly. Near a brewery.
Good vibes, great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the Tall Bike Coffee is awesome!
I order lunches during the week from them through Quickness RVA and love their food! Have tried a few items and have never been disappointed. I usually get the vegetarian options, all of which are AMAZING! My fave sandwich is the TLTNA. The only thing I tried and didnt love was the side - goat cheese & cheddar grits.
Great spot for a friendly meetup or stop-in
Excellent coffee shop in Scotts Addition, with cool ambience, fantastic staff and tasty items to eat.
I dont drink coffee. I like this place. So do my coffee drinking friends. Try have non coffee options and they are pretty good.
Great espresso and coffee. The atmosphere was very relaxing
Good coffee, not as quick as they only had one barista behind the bar while busy, but if you dont mind waiting for the coffee its worth it
Best coffee in Richmond. No need to go anywhere else. Everytime Im in town I make time to stop by no matter what time of day it is.
Wonderfully little coffee shop. I love its inclusiveness and polite staff :)
Excellent coffee, excellent service, cool decor, in the prototypical 3rd Wave Coffee gentrified neighborhood. Wonderful espresso served properly with sparkling water and classic Motown music.
Smells wonderful when you step in the door (fresh ground coffee aroma). Staff are very skillful and friendly. Cappucino tastes wonderful.
Best coffee shop in RVA. Knowledgeable baristas, solid pulls of reliably good espresso.
Really good coffee, cool atmosphere. As tourists, we were looking for quality coffee and we were very satisfied with our visit.
Pourover or cold brew is real good. Regular coffee is good but not my taste.
Really fantastic coffee. Great bright and cozy atmosphere.
Food selection is limited to pastry case, but coffee is as great as the other Lamplighters.
This location is the quietest Ive been too. Same fantastic coffee and great service you expect from Lamplighter.
Its comfortable and the coffee is good, but the staff isnt very friendly and I would say its a bit overpriced.
Ive just tasted the best cappuccino of my lifetime and the service is provided with care and excellence.
Great coffee, great staff, open atmosphere
Great drinks and service! cozy space too.
Great single origin coffee choices!
The place is really nice, coffee is good and good snack options. cool place to hang out
Cool space, nice employees, delicious coffee. Pull of i-95 and treat yourself, we did.
Dont get all the hype, but its very trendy
Mmm I had a hot time !
The best coffee shop in richmond. If you want to have real Expresso go for it. The staff here is wonderful.
Proper 3rd wave coffee establishment. The naturally processed ethiopian was tasty with some good complexity to it. Often times you get a natural ethiopian coffee that tastes like dirt and blueberries but this cup was clean and complex. The shop itself had been nicely remodled. It would, however, be neat if the wall seperating the roasting operation was replaced with a window so you could get a better look.
Great vibe but even better coffee and espresso drinks.
Great coffee and great staff, so nice and helpful
Love the waitstaff and the mocha lattes. I am there every tues- fri for my lunch break. Just wish they was open on mondays.better coffee than starbucks.
Hella good coffee and hella nice ppl I mess wit dis coffee all day long.
Good coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
Oops, not the one with a full menu. Still good coffee.
Good coffee, very solid, remarkably chill.
The right ambience and great choice of coffee.
Quality drinks, friendly staff, great atmosphere.
Excellent. As good as my favorites in DC, NY, SF and LA.
Great coffee and nice staff
If you drink coffee and live in RVA, you should already know about this spot. The food is amazing but the bags of roasted coffee beans are Expensive!
Delicious iced turmeric ginger tea.
Terrible coffee. Always crowded. Very little parking
Great coffee. Great location
Cool place. Amazing coffee.
