As other reviewers have mentioned, no prices posted. When you go to the register, they size you up and ring up whatever they think they can extract from you. The only way to protect yourself is to make sure they actually use the scanner. They charged me over $7 for something - the next day I asked them to scan it and it was under $3.
Nothing has prices, and it’ll cost more than you expect.I’ve heard the cashier fighting with a significant other on the phone. Hang it up honey, he ain’t worth it!I appreciate that they are still improving the store, but it’s been stagnant for months.I’ll amend my rating if it does become a better place. It’s be great if everything had clear pricing. That would be another star. The variety of items is better now, but the prices and service just doesn’t add up.While the new place is called Mocha “Gourmet” Market, the name is just as ironic as Fine Foods.
This is yet another small market that doesnt properly label their products and charges anywhere from $3 to $5 over grocery store or franchise business prices. 15.99 for six packs that reach at most 12.99 with competitive business. I know larger corps have better contracts, but I am comparing to other SMALL businesses. They mark up above even Outpost in the Southside. At least Outpost stabs you in the gut with price tag, This place, that still labels itself under the name of their out of business predecessor, cant even label their product and you get a surprise at the register. They rely on you needing their convenient location and prey on their demographic. I still shop here, so please come enjoy complaining with me because theres nothing else close.
The place is under new management and are doing a great job at fixing the place up, the selection has improved and has great prices on most things, along with selling wine and beer, it has local companies and less known brands for chips and drinks besides the normal soda and things. Raising the review from 1 star to 4 stars.(old review from 2020) - - - Bought 5 cup noodles as we cant cook anything from our stove currently. Was excited that they had an OK selection of food to cook with a microwave. Got home and realized we literally bought food that expired in 2018. Shop elsewhere)))

My friends and I went to Fine Foods to pick up some snacks and drinks. I accidentally stepped on a bag of potato chips that were on the ground in the frozen foods section. A man who worked there and his friend rushed over and started accusing my friend, who is a black man, of wrecking their merchandise. I told them that it was me who stepped on the chips and it was an accident, but they completely ignored me, a white girl, and kept accusing and threatening my friend. We kept it cool and agreed to pay for the $0.60 bag of chips, but were seriously shook and will never give them business again. They were looking to start a fight with someone because they were black, and wouldnt back down until they had scared us out of the store. Please do not give them your service.
This place is top quality. You get great discounts here. Only thing, employees give me weird vibes... There are also a lot of scandalous woman on cardboard posters in the back of the store advertising beer.
I stopped here while on my way to my friends house and the man that was ringing me up asked me a very odd question and made me feel very very uncomfortable!!! Completely caught me off guard! He called himself Sean and asked me did I want to go hangout with him at this location after 12pm and he would pay me 500$s?? My response was shocked, I replied Excuse Me what do you mean he says I just wanted to hangout and have a good time i said what does have a good time? He asked me did I do any kind of drugs and pointed to his nose! Let me remind you my father is a Sheriff for Goochland Co.!! I told him. I do not use drugs of any kind!! He also told me hell pay me for my time!! I replied No Thank You I do not sell my body nor do anything for money then he replies well do you have any Friends ill give you money to set me up with a girl tonight um no i do nonot kn anyone like that sorry!! I do not appreciate how he approached me that away and strongly recommend woman and young children to stay away from that Store!!! My experience with them was very unacceptable and wanted to share it with everyone!! ThanksP.S. I did not want to give them any stars but unfortunately I had to, to post anything!!
Ive had perfectly fine transactions with the people at Fine Food Market since Ive lived in Oregon Hill (since July 2017) until tonight. The employee insisted I intentionally broke a can of beer even though it slipped from the plastic six pack holder twice. Then he gave me the broken can in a styrofoam cup (which was leaking on the floor) and insisted I pay full price for the six pack even though one can was broken! I swapped it out for a new six pack but he was still a complete a**hat about it and it makes me incredibly hesitant to shop there again despite living less than a block away from their store.
I got a lunchable from there and the meat was rotten
Great produce choices!
Has everything you could I magine! From Beer to snack foods!!
