Amazing, a must stop esp if the sun is out. The booze list is great, so much outdoor seating. The can/bottle shop inside also worth mentioning, could be best in the city. The quality of ingredients here also top notch, not pictured the chicken salad sandwich, made with fried chicken skins...what...yes it was mind blowing!

Absolutely no complaints at all. My 15 YO, 7 YO, 5 YO, and I all loved everything. BLTs excellent. Salads excellent. Loved the pickled cauliflower mixture in the chopped salad, seemed to have been made in house. Probably house made croutons. Everything fresh. Staff very sweet and accommodating. Prices reflected good quality but werent outrageous at all. Highly recommend!

I work from home a lot and this is where i order lunch from every day and Ive never been disappointed. Not once. All of the sandwiches are worth eating, but the pro move is the daily special. I dont know who comes up with em but theyre always incredible. Goes without saying the service is fantastic. Sometimes the online site has issues during peak traffic hours, but theyre always happy to take orders over the phone when I call. 10/10 would eat here again/currently/probably tomorrow.

In my top 3 all-time favorite sandwich places in Richmond! Choose Union Market if you want a hip relaxing environment with fresh sandwiches and salads. Easy-going outdoor patio, cute indoor market with local offerings, and interesting, delicious dishes. Do not skip out on my favorite sandwich: the Tarragon Chicken Salad (creamy AND crispy with a bright plum jam).

I tried lunch at Union Market for the first time today. Based on the meal I had, they deserve five stars; however, Im reluctant to give then five since this was my first visit.Youll find it tucked neatly in a residential community as if it belongs. It doesnt look out of place based on location. Its a small market with indoor and outdoor seating for customers. I browsed the shelves of market items while waiting for my to-go order. Definitely a unique selection if you have a desire for healthier choices.I ordered the pick two combo where youre able to mix and match sandwich, soup, and said options. I chose the sweet potato soup and chopped salad. I jumped out on a limb going that there sweet potato soup would not only have a hint of sweetness, but that it would also have savory tones. And guess what? It did! Its absolutely wonderful - you have the sweetness associated with the potato and at the end theres a burst of flavor! I played my soup with the chopped salad. I wanted a basic salad with a little twist. The chick peas and feta have met the little twist I was looking for.I look forward to visiting a few more times in the upcoming weeks to TEST consistency. My thought is five stars are coming! Happy eating everyone!

Sandwiches are tasty, although Ive only had the BLT. Tall guy that is frequently there when I pick up take away orders is fairly unwelcoming, for this reason I will likely not return. As I stated, Sandwiches are tasty, but they are not anything particularly special that cannot be had elsewhere. Id rather enjoy other establishments in my neighborhood that offer tasty bites with a side of inclusive and welcoming service.

Union Market is the local market every neighborhood needs. Its nestled in between the Union Hill and Church Hill neighborhoods on a corner surrounded by no other buildings. The blocks near it are residential. The market itself is small, but they stock it well to make it feel large. They sell all types of food from local produce to a healthy collection of craft beer, ciders, and wines to cookies. Off to the side is a dining room with tables near a deli and an actual bar with local brews on tap. Outside is a large patio. If all markets were like Union Market, world peace would prevail.

My fiance and I live right down the street from here and man, in the otherwise food desert that is known as Church Hill, this place is like finding a fresh lake of water to drink from. We really love this place because of the variety of local fare they sell. It has introduced us to a lot of the local goods that Richmond has to offer - from ice cream to bread, from milk to cookies, and a bunch of other things that come from the Richmond-Charlottesville area, this is the place to find just about anything local. I think my fiance and I can both agree that if we ever move from Church Hill, one of the places/things we will definitely miss the most is Union Market.

Went here for the first time last night, it was just ok. The French dip was pretty good when I dipped it in the spicy sauce. On it’s own, or in the au jus it had a really weird taste. The tarragon chicken was edible but seemed like they were trying too hard to make it “fancy”, and the potato salad and side salad it came with were both really REALLY bad!Over all their food has too much going on. Their sandwiches would be way better if they were simpler. They need to get a new potato salad recipe, I can’t stress enough how bad it was. This is definitely a place to skip, there are way better options for a way better price.

Third time here and my opinion hasn’t change. Food is ok, staff is rude and entitled and the prices are high. The Unión Market is one of the places that make me feel insulted. They think they can charge hefty prices for food and products only because they don’t have any competitors. I can justify high food prices in places such as New York and Los Ángeles and other big cities where rent is actually expensive so businesses owners are obligated to charge more but not in a place like Richmond, Virginia where rent is not nearly as expensive. I much rather take my business somewhere else where prices are fair and staff is helpful and friendly, the way it should always be...
