Great variety of everything ever sold at discount prices!! Wonderful friendly fast staff!! Loved the fresh produce, fruits and vegetables!
Have only been once but so far very pleased!! A variety of great produce! Was able to pick up some items that I have always been interested in trying but didnt want to waste the money if it wasnt liked. So happy I did! Discovered some great new healthy dishes. Dont be decieved by the name, there are fresh veggies and fruits in perfectly good condition, packaged and canned goods, dairy products, frozen goods and even wine! Got a good cart full of items for 12 bucks! Will definitely be back!
I understand that this stores whole shtick is selling food thats discontinued, overstocked, specialty, or slightly out of date. But the store itself was in a depressing state of disrepair and much of the food that I saw was either visibly rotten or SEVERAL MONTHS out of date. Nor was food marked down in any substantial amount to justify shopping here vs. someplace like Walmart.I understand the appeal of saving money on food, but it hardly matters when that money will be spent getting runs of IV vancomycin at the local hospital after you get botulism.
Been meaning to stop by there I just never got around to it well the other day I stopped their the prices they have some Cosmetics deodorant soap shampoo toothbrushes and stuff that are very well priced they were very low prices on some of it the only problem is with it is for some reason youre not allowed to carry any of that stuff around the store with you I guess they think everybodys a thief I dont know but didnt make much sense to me but a lot of the paper products were really was a good sale on a lot of them and the the bridge pastries coffees detergents there was a lot of good deals and there are a lot of good deals on frozen meats Frozen Foods it was like the old convenience store that used to be on Hull Street that closed down years ago but Ill definitely go back there again there is good deals there but thats just my opinion
A really neat store with tons of great deals. Some things arent priced especially well, but most things are very cheap. Just watch the expiration dates on perishables like yogurt. If youre OK with eating things past the best by date you can get awesome deals. Lots of stuff in date too, just with damaged packaging. Grabbed a few things and will come back next week to see whats new.
I love the unbelievable bargains at Fresh to Frozen. For all the budget minded people looking for great deals, this is the place!!
Always great bargains, fresh produce, clean, friendly. I shop there frequently, and will continue to do so.
Best prices on vegetables in and around Richmond. The only place Ive seen that sometimes is better is the discount bin at New Grand Mart (only the northwest location though. If youre south of the river, this is the place to go!
It was interesting it had a bit of everything you can Imagine. it was clean and Organized well .It had lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and and canned food with frozen meats. It had soaps and shampoo household cleaners .Good prices Definitely check it out. And real budget stretcher kind of Store .
Fruits and vegetables are great, but it’s beyond frustrating that they feel the need to close an hour earlier, because of COVID… Really? Closing at 7 was already too early, but now they close at 6?? If you really think you need to use the extra hour to disinfect, then close at 7 and pay employees for the extra hour. But it’s as if the “due to COVID” rationale is just automatically accepted, and even praised. Ridiculous, but it is what it is…
Even though this is basically a discount / salvage type grocery store; u still find dont great things here!! Allot of times they have good picks of unique seasonings which I love and their wine prices are amazing (please dont change those)!! I tried to keep this place a secret lol but we all need a good go to and great deals regardless.
A hidden gem. Got a case of bananas for free (approx.75). Great deals.
Got what I wanted and didnt pay a lot!! Great Deals too!👍👍
This used to be my go-to store but it has changed a lot. Prices have gone up exponentially as with all places but certain items don’t even cost as much at Publix. For example American cheese slices are $6 for a 24 pack. I get that at food lion 2 for $3. Coffee, Tea, diapers, laundry detergent are all higher here than anywhere else. It appears that they allow people just anyone to price the items in the store. Two cans of beans that are exactly the same can be two different prices. It’s like the owner tells them “ if it’s name brand mark it up even higher”. I used to drive 40 minutes to get here but I don’t think I will anymore.
Love that place!!! The workers are pleasant, and thats what I look forward to experiencing when I go to any business. The manager is also very nice. Keep up the good work fresh to frozen crew!!!
Great Store Friendly staff. Found some wonderful bargains. Gold Medal Flour two 5 lb bags for a buck. Other great buys On Meats. Definitely worth a visit every week or two
Best deals on meat.Plus many more deals.Great produce .
I’ve been shopping with Junior and the crew since the days of Salvage Barn...so yeah, decades. I love supporting small businesses and I also love that this is a small business that supports ME and so many others who are on a tight budget. Because of this establishment, my family is able to eat well and enjoy life’s small pleasures like fresh flowers, potted plants and vegetable plants, good wines, craft beer and the like. The staff is always helpful and friendly and they know my family by name. I’m a customer for life.
Deals abound for seasoned food!
Great place to shop. Good selection of products
Best discount grocery store in RVA area.
Best prices forever, I would die for you Fresh to Frozen employees
Everything I looked at was more expensive than the grocery store
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Love the produce section.
Love this place! I got everytime Im in Richmond and I live in sussex. They got good deals and always nice.
Another astonishing place to shop for food and wine. The 3 of us had a great time spending money. We shopped and filled 2 carts before leaving to head back to Hampton Roads.
LOVE THIS PLACE.....BUT.....YOU DO HAVE TO WATCH PRODUCE SCANS. MANY TIMES THEY RING HIGHER THAN POSTED IN THAT SECTION.
If you are on a budget or hate to see food go to waste this is the place to go. Amazing deals. The produce is beyond cheap but some things you have to pick through or be prepared to sort it when you get home. Even with a bad apple or two in the bunch its more than worth it. If you see a deal grab what you need cause it probably wont be there on your next shopping trip!
I LOVE FRESH TO FROZEN! THEY SELL PERFECTLY FINE PRODUCTS FOR SOO CHEAP!!! I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE.
Love this place.
I love bargains! But you need to know real prices also to know a bargain, Peppers of all colors were at $0.50
Was able to buy more than 2 turkeys at one time since this is what we live on year round
Please be careful. This place does not honor CDC guidelines. Do not enforce social distance. Not not clean. Please be careful
Amazing! Sometimes I get such good stuff for such a good price.
The prices are reasonable
Cheap store. Affordable food items. Great deals.
If u r looking to buy in quantity for a picnic this place is worth your time if u want to save a few dollars.
Just jungled up and food is out of date
I visit on occasion and find some good deals on groceries and produce. It is well kept for being salvage grocery. Sometimes it is full to the brim and other days a bit empty, so always an adventure.
I dont even know where to begin .Fantastic prices .. a lot of the bag produce items a very close dated but I get like 6 days past date on Salad mix ..FANTASTIC SATURDAY SALES ON FACEBOOK PAGE .You may not be able to do all of your grocery shopping there.but you can get Damn good deals
This store is good. You are purchasing items that tipped over on the back of the truck or packaging is damaged. Some items are in fact out of date BUT boathouse farms was in date and 2.30; you make the call 👌🏾😋😊😘
If youre afraid of dents or funky expiration dates, stay away. This place has the greatest values and you can really load up a cart for next to nothing. It is a salvage grocery store so things are constantly changing but you cannot beat the price!
You can fill up a whole shopping cart for way under 100$ bucks! Great produce always, and sometimes very exciting cheese deals! Occasionally you might try something new and find out theres a *reason* it ended up being salvage, but more often everything is perfectly fine and an amazing price!
Prices are good.
Great bargains
Good prices
I find great ways to save on groceries.
Hit or Miss on Bargains, some good buys, very friendly and helpful customer service....
Very good prices on most items, but some prices are better at the regular grocery store. Some items are past date but I realize they are still safe to use. The lines dont tend to go too quickly when it is busy.
I like this store but its like a salvage store, you have to look at things carefully and make sure its not outdated and looks good.
Absolutely the best place to go if you want fruits and vegetables that are ripe today. No having to wait a week for your bananas to be ripe. Excellent deals on frozen chicken, Ocean Spray type juices, and canned goods and mixes. I love this place.
Great prices on fruits and vegetables. Just eat them quick. If its not Fresh its definitely Frozen!
Prices are good, surprisingly sanitary, and really good atmosphere. Staffw are nice and helpful as well. 10/10
I read everything I could about this place before we finally made the trip. It was pretty busy, but not stressful. The employees were helpful and kind. The store was organized, easy to navigate and well stocked. Youve gotta know your grocery prices and make sure youre getting a good deal. They had more produce than I expected. The chicken prices are fantastic. I would say that if youre feeding a larger group its worth a trip. They had a large selection of restaurant quantity packs of side dishes, cake mixes and soups. Try it out.
Love this place. Always great prices and it always surprises me how sweet the workers are
Its a good place to find some deals. The employees are friendly, polite and wearing face coverings!
Amazing deals on fresh fruit and vegetables! Actually amazing deals on everything. Staff is very friendly! Definitely a repeating costumer!
Great deals!
Little busy but if you know what you are there for its in and out
Great place to go to get. Fresh vegetables and fruit deals. Food bargain. Some out of date. Some not. Great prices. 5 to 10 grocery bags of food for under $50.00. I had over 5 grocery bags full one time under. $30.00. Meats juices fruit a and fresh vegetables. I like the store. Off Midlothian in Richmond. Friendly people. Will go again later.
I have to take my rating down a star. Last couple of visits have been disappointing. No bread, bananas, other staples. Produce and expired items continue to be good deals but be aware of the dates.Great store for just-expired canned goods. Staff are so friendly. Save money and shop local!
Awesome great deals!! You expect to get items at a discount at a surplus store but not at 90% off !!! Many items were most of the items were the snack category but that made my brother very happy filling the cart with 5/$1 junk food 🤣 many other great deals too like eggs and cheese.
Have found some great deals here, but you must be willing to take your time and look at items good, the expiration dates especially.
Great bargains. I keep a cooler in my car so I can stock up on good deals.
Ive never had a problem with their product or the people that work there. Very friendly and extremely helpful and nice. Great value
This place is basically Save-A-Lot. They have name-brand stuff but everything is pretty much about to expire or it has expiredperiod on a positive note if youre planning on cooking it that day then I would suggest you go and get it for that day but not to put in your refrigerator or freezer to keep. The store is a little big dirty to. Really cheap..
Love this place. Dont expect a usual grocery store. This is salvage. This is where food that is slightly out of date, or packaged funny, or was a closeout ends up so it avoids the Landfill. I like to shop here first before Kroger or Lidl to save money and keep good things from becoming garbage.
Checked it out and found that the prices are high you are better off going to a regular grocery store. They maybe a small amount of items you can really get a bargain on. Numerous freezer burned meats, prices were lower months ago it has increased dramatically. The customer service is great ! Greed is starting to kill this store.
Great Place ! My Wife and I are Regular Shoppers here !
We love to pick up a few things here weekly. It is important to know this is a scratch and dent grocery store. Some things are out of date or close to out of date. They have fresh produce and some maybe uglier than you are use to but they have great stuff. I save quite a bit getting snacks and some produce here.
Good products and cheap prices.
This is my go to spot for good grocery deals. This grocery salvage store gives me great produce and some essential items at ridiculously low prices. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable about their stock and item locations. They are always running specials to save you more money. Like 5% off when you check in on FB or Senior Citizen day save a percentage! Love the staff, the store, and the savings!
Mind blowing deals on organic and high end groceries. Best prices on produce in the RVA.
Maybe or maybe not
This is a very good store to find a deal. You should check it out. Having room in your refrigerator is recommended!
Fresh to Frozen has great customer service and good prices on groceries. Ive never had them charge me a wrong price - even though that seems to happen regularly at other grocery stores. I try to do my shopping here first and only go to another store if I coukdnt find everything I wanted at Fresh to Frozen.
Always enjoy bargains and I always get them here. 10lbs of red potatoes for $2.50 means some very economical potato salad. I did also buy lots of Gelato for $1 each. It will make a nice party spread . OJ, ground beef, sausage and cabbage were some of my super bargains today. The cashiers are always so pleasant here too.
Found some great deals.... Plus got a senior discount.... Win win
Great deals!
Good products for an awesome price.
Great deals! Visit at least twice per month. Catch wines on sale for gifts.
This place has a great selection of groceries. It has the same things available at your local store, maybe in damaged packaging. As a result, you get quality groceries for way less money. Will be back again!
For a salvage grocery store I have found the variety and quality varies at times, but over all the wide selection and low prices makes Fresh to Frozen a terrific grocery store to supplement our grocery needs! I am thankful for this resource and have been able to regularly provide my family with a number healthy meals and snacks! Feeding a growing family is expensive but if you shop frugally and make quality choices, a weeks worth of groceries can cost you a minimal of 45.00!
Fantastic prices on produce.. check expiration dates on canned goods
Truck Driver delivery: Arrived at 0755 and out at 0810.
Parking is easy & the store isnt too large like most grocery stores. Many prices are the same as the grocery stores though. I buy the surplus bananas for the animals. Very nice food to replace the fruit & berry bushes development has stripped away. I put out about 5-6 a night. Who doesnt like a nice banana. Runs .25 - .49 per lb. Frozen meals are the sale prices at grocery stores. Many boxes, bagged, frozen foods are outdated. Some were not edible, so I stick with bananas. The grocery store sells them at .49 per pound, so only when the price drops is it a good deal here. If you visit, eye the prices & the dates. 70% of whats on the shelves isnt a better deal.
Great for deals on massive amounts of meat and desserts. You dont get a very good deal on the fruits. Still is worth a stop.
Good deals, good value just check the expiration dates.
This place is great for deals. Its a salvage grocery store that carries a variety of different items that are close to date or out of date. Just like any other salvage store you have to watch what you buy, but if you are preparing a meal within a day or 2 the prices cant be beat for produce. The key is inspect your items and use it quickly. Easy way to shave 25% or more off your monthly grocery bill. You can find some good deals on non perishables and other items compared to normal stores.
Do you want food thats about to expire for dirt cheap prices?? I do. And when I say dirt cheap, I bought 3 dozen eggs once for $1.50. 3 dozen. Could they have really been alien gmo chicken eggs sent by the government to eliminate the poor from Richmond? Maybe. But I couldnt tell. Neither would you.
Food is cheap
This store is amazing if you are on a food budget. Anything you can think of foodwise is here at a discounted price! Great place, wish I lived closer
My fav store to stop by for groceries, it has incredible deals on fruits, vegetables, meat, snacks and lots of exotic/imported stuff like fine cheeses. A good portion of the food is near the expiration date, hence the deep markdowns. But the food is good a long while after the expiry date, so its all good. Where you else can you get stuff like eight 1lb packs of good, fresh strawberries for $1??
I saw some gleaming reviews from Yelp, but after experiencing for myself, I do not plan on shopping here again. The only great things were running into someone I know, chit chatting with a stranger about something we found in common, and having some good laughs after words when most things I thought were doable foods got thrown away or given to someone without as discriminating of taste buds as mine. The store smelled bad, most freezer foods looked freezer burned. Good memory seeing as I learned the lesson - Unless its a miracle, you get what you pay for, and miracles cant be bought with money.
I first found Fresh to frozen or F2F as my wife and I call it, when I moved to Richmond to go to nursing school in 2012 and was broke and needed cheap groceries. F2F really is a cool place and Ive been going there ever since and have introduced many people to it. My wife and I always go there first when grocery shopping just to see what we can get for super discounted prices. Seriously, most things are 1/2 to 1/3rd off the price in a regular grocery store or even less. If you like bargains, F2F has them. It is a grocery salvage store meaning most of what they sell comes from other stores that couldnt sell it for some reason. With that said, some things are close to or past expiration. But many things are still in date and even some of what is past expiration is still good. You just gotta look. We get a lot of produce, even organic name brand things sometimes, as well as some more specialty items like kombucha, suja drinks, evolution drinks, hummus, fancy cheeses and many other random items we can use. They have good deals on wine and beer too. Definitely a place worth checking out if you like deals!
Fresh to Frozen is the place for supercheap staples and discounted organic/high-end food. Selection varies (its salvage/overstock). To make the most of it, you should know how much things cost at other grocery stores and take the time to sift through the whole store. You will either love or hate this store, depending on how much you care about saving money.Pro tips:-For a lot of the produce, youll need to use it soon (or at least keep it in a bag in the fridge) to prevent fruit flies in your kitchen.-Most items are perfectly safe and delicious after the use by or expiration date- but F2F also has a lot of non-expired items if you dont feel comfortable with that.-Many items are a steal, but a few items (canned soup, pasta, etc) are priced the same or even a little higher than other grocery stores.-Have a full meal before you go because they have so many tempting snack/dessert items for insanely good prices.-If something is a steal, stock up before theyre all gone (just keep in mind how much room you have in your fridge and pantry lol)
