Divine Magic and Novelties has such a large assortment of items that you could spend hours in there. Candles, oils, magic tricks, herbs, —there was just so much. You won’t be disappointed!! This is one shop that you will want to go to on a regular basis.

Mr. Woo is very friendly. I like the way he takes the time to listen to his customers need. Hes very friendly and its just very helpful. I like the way he describes what hes doing when he makes marks into candle. Is that just he doesnt just do what they say he did take it you know he explains and that I liked it very much. Even though I happen to be keep throat so that I can understand even though right now when the paramedics so we do need to wear eye mask its not easy for me to understand him because it doesnt Rush talked to is very appreciative that he takes time to communicate with his customers no matter who and no matter what.

I absolutely love this little store and I try to go in whenever possible. There is a wide selection of super affordable candles, incense, trinkets, and other tools for divination.A great selection of herbs and oils and really anything you need. The owner is such a fun character and I’ve learned things from him I don’t think I could ever find in a book. Certainly stop in to check it out!

This store is a magical hidden gem of Richmond. They have a wide selection of candles, incense, crystals and semi-precious stones, and so, so, so much more! The owner offers a selection of his own hand-made incense and it is my favorite of all time! I go through it so fast and I always love going in there to stock up on more. A truly special store with a great vibe.

I love with this store and the owner. Hes so so kind and knowledgeable. He has about 200 different candles. He even dresses the candle for free. He also taught me the origins of dressing the candle. I even over heard him telling someone he still trades goods for his very amazing quality items for ppl that dont have money. *ei: he traded a pie for some crystals* his store has the best energy and calm feeling. He answered all of my 1000 questions and took his time with me.

My ex husband went there initially to find an impossible food ingredient. He made friends with the owner and dragged me there the next week. The place is quite fascinating; never seen anything like it. Mr. Woo is incredibly nice. Its more like an experience than a store. Once Woo learned I travel a lot for work, alone, he gave me a pen thats actually a knife. The ex husband started going there almost weekly, just to visit Woo.

Love this place! Mr. Woo is enchanting! He owns the place. His mother was there when I went. She’s sweet and she spent time with my mother and helped her with a remedy for her aching hands. The shop Could use a good cleaning inside both energetically and literally. I’d volunteer to help them if they wanted. Gets my dust allergy kicked up pretty good. I’d stay longer to shop if it was less dusty. My mom also had an issue with the dust and had to wait outside while I finished shopping. But this place and the Woo Family is great- it has so much potential and lots of goodies to pick through. :)

What an experience. Entirely by accident I spotted this store while passing, stopped and checked it out. Big Thurston Posters in the windows stir the heart of a lifelong fan of magic. Prepare your senses as you open the door only to be flooded by a Tsunami of incense and candles and stuff. The place is huge and looks like its been in this location for fifty years. Its iconic proprietor, Mr. Woo said it has only been here since 2000. Still, aisles of counters and just weird great stuff you can pore over. But not touch. Like swords. Also knives. Need Potions and herbs? Bring your list. And there is truly an impressive array of classic old magic props, tricks, you name it. This would have been my go-to place many moons ago but now that I know its here, will be my come-again-when-I-can place. Mr. Woo was engaged in entertaining a young girl with coin tricks while I was there and generously allowed me to take his photo afterward, shared here. A few feet away, a young man whom I think may have been on the autistic spectrum, sat happily chattering to himself and completely self-absorbed in a good space nestled within a weird and wonderful space. You just have to see this place. Words dont do it.

Lots and lots of interesting pieces! From candles to incense to glasswear to trinkets and odd and ends. The owner is a cool guy who talks to you, which is really nice, especially for a shop like this where more often than not youll get waved around- great to see someone who clearly enjoys what theyre doing and have been at it a long time!

I have known these folks for over twelve years. I am always received with great warmth and affection into the shop. They rarely are out of the curios I need when I visit. On these few occasions they always suggest a reliable and affordable alternative. When we disagree on practices or methods they are always interested to hear my thoughts and consider the new idea. I now travel down from DC to visit them and stock my stores when I am low. As for candles, I have had only one dusty one in all these years. I always cleanse my candles with Florida Water so is not a concern. I would rather have the massive stock sitting and waiting for me than to have a rare and urgent need that must wait for mail order. I am an unflappable fan.

Mr woo makes some insanely powerful fragrant incense. I showed up right before Halloween as they were closing as he just finished a batch and he gifted me some after entertaining us for nearly 45 mins. Im jonesing to get by to purchase some more..What an awesome shop.

I think most of the people complaining were expecting a store they see in movies or on television, it is older but the older the more experienced and wiser. The lady lord rest her soul was so nice to me and her dogs are mean to those who are negative her dog liked me a lot and did not bark at me. The two older men showed my nephew magic tricks and were very patient with him starting off. I wish this store the best and much success.

They say they open at noon. Ive been sittinf here for 20 min, since noon, and there is no one to be found. I also called twice and no one answered. If you have posted business hours you should probably stick to them.

Going to be honest. The store is extremely messy and half of the merchandise shelves I couldnt even get to. There were a few gentlemen sitting in stools who were talking about strippers which made me uncomfortable. There was merchandise that Ive seen elsewhere half the price. If you want a wonderful shop go to Aquarian Bookshop in Richmond. The merchandise and variety at that store is good quality! And it feels magical when you walk in the door.

By divine magic they mean slight of hand magic. This is NOT a pagan shop. They had more novelties than anything. The guy behind the counter was kinda rude and made fun of me after I told him I thought it was going to be a pagan shop. Tried to sell me some magic toys and bore me for an hour by showing me all of his magic tricks. Wont be coming back.

My best friend and I were waited on by one of the owners of the shop, she was absolutely wonderful, very knowledgeable (answered all of our questions no matter how silly, and even took the time to look up some astrology information on me about my daughter). She was very friendly and engaging, I felt like she was interested in getting to know us.The store was packed full of everthing you could hope to need, with a HUGE herb and oil and candle selection (a much better selection, and prices, than that other metaphysical store near the fan). The owner also introduced us to concepts we had never heard of before, and helped to open our minds towards some things wed be interested in studying.The prices were extremely resonable and they had some really interesting and hard to find antiques. Overall, best service, quality, and pricing that Ive seen in retail in a very long time.

The man and the woman who own and works in this store are rude and disrespectful. Beware! The place is filthy and has dogs and sometimes they be walking around the store barking and growling at you. and Ive noticed that if you buy a candle with Jesus Christ on it they will carve the symbol of Satan in the candle saying that they are blessing the candle. I first thought that it was going to be a clean and neat place when I looked at the pictures on their website but when you see it for yourself it looks terrible.
