After dropping the children off at school, I decided to stop by. Completely, change how I want to shop at this location. All items are fully stocked, fresh and aisles are clean. There’s no crowds early in the morning. If you’re shopping for fresh meat or seafood … visit early. There’s an array of Asian and Latin spices and goods.

Okay cannot even begin to say just how many cool products you can find here! Could have spent hours just in the sauce and noodle aisles alone. The staff is always busy at work, and willing to help either locating or suggesting items. They have a great seafood and meat selection, and the quality seems on par with most grocery chains without that bougie price increase. However the store is showing its age and it is cramped in some spots with carts being almost too big. Needs some cleaning TLC, but it will not keep me from returning. Also recommend picking up some food from their instore restaurant... very tasty!!

I wish I could give this store a zero. None of the produce appeared edible. Lots of rotten, moldy produce that should not be sold. Not clean or organized. Out of stock on many items. Such a disappointment.

New Grand Mart is probably my favorite grocery store. The produce is varied and fresh. There are so many sauces and spices. Its great for a lot of things that are hard to find elsewhere.If there is any negative, it’s that New Grand Mart is not a one-stop-shop for my grocery needs. That doesn’t really bother me, but I have avoided NGM when I just want to go to one place.The staff is kind and helpful, too.Check this place out for all the hard-to-find ingredients, fun snacks, fresh produce, and ample seafood selection. I promise, it’s cool.

Love that they have probably any & every youre of spice or seasoning youre looking for. Doesnt smell too great inside (live fresh fish & crabs) but exotic fruits and interesting good and snacks.

Loved that the store had a great variety of different foods. But the smell from the seafood section 🤮 I almost threw up and my daughter was ready to go after the smell hit us. I wouldnt purchase seafood from here. Going to try the one in Glen Allen instead hopefully that one will be better managed and better cleanliness.

New grand is one of my favorite places to go for ramen, vegetable buns, unique drinks and desserts. I also love the fact that they have some fresh fish and seafood that you can choose from. And a unique assortment of fruits and vegetables. And if youre looking for a quick delicious lunch or dinner the restaurant noodles and Friends inside new grand is an amazing place to stop.

This is a great store. It seems to be transitioning from a Asian market to a Latin market there are many great choices of both. A great veggie and fruit section. Hundreds of sauces. Fresh seafood and they will clean and prep fish a few different ways. Awesome sake and fruit base wines.They have a small area that prepares many different eastern dishes. Tons of candies and pastries.a great place to go to try stuff youve never had before

Horrible customer service, this is what happened and they dont want to exchange it or refund it. Buy it 13 days ago, had the receive and still didnt do anything.

Just terrible customer service. If you want to get hold of them call 10 times in a row and they will answer the phone. Due to such lack of merchandise called to see if they had something (which they usually dont) so thats why i called so i dont have to drive 30 minutes away to not get it. But instead of not answering the phone on time. They will just hang up on you so you have to be persistent in order to get a hold on them. And guess what nope they dont have it. Thats why most of the korean community go up 2 hours to H mart in NOVA to get stuff. SMHHH…

They have lots of different food that Ive never seen before. Fish area is very smelly and i avoid that area of the store. Otherwise nice market. Clean and nice employees

Its all fun and games until your favorite products are no longer offered. Used to come here all the time for the most delicious snacks. 😔 If youre not Korean, customer service seems annoyed to be asked questions about this sort of thing. I mean I get that if theres a language barrier, its tough. But I just wanna know if and when my fave snacks will be back. 😥

This New Grand Market hardly carries any Asian grocery despite the business description. It carries more of Latino food merchandise. I visited the store once and saw the workers there walked back and forth to the warehouse area with no mask chatting up with customers. I will not return.

Just stood in line for 20 minutes, only to be told that one closed and to go over to lane 1, where ten customers were already waiting.

They have nearly any ethnic food ingredient youre looking for: Thai, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Chinese, Latin, Caribbean, etc. They have a wide selection of unusual and fresh produce, meats, and live seafood as well as all sorts of rices, noodles & pastas, legumes, sauces, spices, coconut milks & waters, dried fruits, teas, and the list goes on. Friendly staff are available to help you find what youre looking for. We have been able to up our ethnic cooking game now that New Grand Mart is in town.

I love this place as an alternative grocery store. I work in retail often so it is a good place to find eclectic ingredients if youre into international cuisine. There hasnt been anything I couldnt find at this store. I highly recommend. Other than the difficulty of store formatting and flow, I love it here.

Great place for international goods but they run out fast..

I enjoyed seeing all of the international brands of foods. The only drawback is (as a first-time shopper) trying to figure out the flow of the market. Evert aisle was labeled, but a bit narrow. The selections were immense! If you dont mind the smell of fresh fish, your experience will be well worth the trip. Produce from around the world also a plus!

This is a international grocery market, I can go here to pick vegetables to cook any meal a want from Mexican,Italian, Chinese, Indian cuisine, Mediterranean. Friendly service, and very helpful staff.

Since moving from California Ive been looking for a grocery store like this. It has a wide variety of Asian foods from sushi wraps, canned goods to beef and seafoods. Highly recommend this place. Also has a Korean resto inside with great meals to try out.

International food market. Slanted towards Southwest Asia and Hispanic needs. Very well supplied. Clean. They have exotic to us fruits. Very well set. Liked much.

Its a nice market that has a wide selection of items to choose from. It also has a small restaurant on the other side of the entrance to get food from.

I drove by this place more than once not knowing what it was. Took a chance on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. Its mainly a good mixture of Asian and Latin foods. The meat counter had all sorts of cuts and bones often not found in American supermarkets, as did the seafood section.

After living in Korea for two years we often miss the food and snacks. This is a great place to go when we crave something special.

The first time i went they had everything i wanted and it was lovely. but now every time i go they never have the noodles i want and honestly i’m just tired. i might not go again and just order them online 😕.

Found everything I needed

The people in store who work there are extremely rude from the shelters who do not move ic you need to get something and expect you to move out of there way when they need to get something. The cashiers are no better. They have great stuff but the shopping experience is unpleasant!

They have a few things you wont find in kroger but I couldnt find galangal, tamarind paste, or asafetida here. That was all I came for.

I come here every week to get my asian produce and fresh blue crabs! Some products seem to be more expensive here than any other stores but i lone out

The New Grand Mart is an international store with a wide range of fresh produce, meat and fish. There is also a good selection of dry goods. A Noodles and Things restaurant is located inside the store.

Only go for seaweed an tofu. No one can help you because they dont speak English. An look at you like your crazy when you ask for help. You can smell the dead animals when you hit the door. I would recommend for exotic fruits.

Overall we really like this store. The vegetables are in good shape and usually cheaper than most chain stores. The international selection is really good, and we can cover our Korean, Indian, and Latino needs in one place.In addition to the grocery, their in-store restaurant is really good! Weve planned trips around lunch so we could eat there too.The only negative is the fish smell. Its mostly in the corner near the fish counter, but if you have sensitive smell, know that it can be strong.

Really good place for international groceries, I buy dolma here in 2kg cans for $6.99 or $9.99. Also love getting heir $2.99 Norway mackerel, its really fresh and tasty when grilled or roasted. I dont know of any other place that sells fresh mackerel in Richmond, especially the really oily Norway mackerel, not the bland Spanish mackerel. Oh, and they have Pepsi from Central America in glass bottles, its like Mexican Coke but most places dont carry Latino Pepsi - I really love its taste.

If you’re used to actual Korean super markets like Hmart or Lotte, don’t expect too much here. There isnt the biggest variety in brands and products, but they do have the main staples of a Korean kitchen. The produce is cheap, and the quality of the produce is heavily dependent on the season. Its probably your best bet for buying Korean groceries in this area.

I truly love the variety of products sold here. If i need a specialty item for a recipe i can find it here. The produce is so diverse. I love Noodles and Friends right inside too.

This place is great! I eat lunch at Noodles and friends (the cafe inside) regularly. There is a wide variety on the menu and the food is great. They are friendly and will help you order if you are not sure what to get. The grocery section has everything you could dream of and more. Would highly recommend you check it out sometime.

Got to get use to the smell

Huge produce department. Very fresh vegetables and fruit. The store smells like fish. They have a large seafood selection. Most of the employees cannot speak English. But I’m able to find everything I need. I go twice a month. And overall I’m pleased.

Love this store for inexpensive fresh produce from around the world. Great selection of fresh, packaged and frozen foods from India, South and Central America, Asia and every place in between. Also has a tasty Korean restaurant inside the store. Fresh seafood. Good bagged and loose leaf tea selection. Each visit I always find something I have never tried and buy it. I have discovered some delicious foods and treats that way.

Rarely do people appreciate the value of a great international foods store. The products sold here were great, the produce and meat was fresh and the variety was great.Pro tip: whenever you purchase seafood the store should not have an overwhelming fishy odor and the fish in the tank should look healthy, not over crowded.The seafood section was wonderfully kept, although they could have had more people working the counter. The prices were fair and there is nothing better than having your fish killed and filleted in front of you.A hidden gem!

Split decision. They have an awesome fruits selection. Their meats arent so good quality, after eating some of the meat I think they MAP meats. The fish and crab looks good but havent tried. They stock a lot of GMO herbicide canned goods.I go here often but just for the fruit selection. Go here, get fruit, be happy!

Massive variety of fresh produce and international foods. The restaurant inside, Noodles and Friends, has some of the best quality Asian food Ive ever had. The noodles are made to order, and every ingredient looks like it was caught/harvested today. Will definitely come back. Picture is of White Jjampong.

Some Employees Were walking around with no masks. I love this grocery store but this trip was really scary. Why aren’t they wearing masks? All the customers are wearing them, why can’t they do that too?

Good Place to Shop

Love coming here, It has everything I need to make dishes from back home. Fruits and Seafood are always fresh and cheaper than other stores around the areas. I love the all the options available of different fruits and vegetables that are hard to find other groceries stores. I come here maybe once or twice a week. I have not tried their food yet.
