I have known most of their employees for years as well as most of the siewers family, they just dont get much better.Highly recommend them.

If you have a house with hardboard siding,it has been discontinued. Skewers makes it out of yellow pine. It is the same 9 inch beaded size board,but it is 3.10 a foot and you have to prime it both sides.

I called in an order for some stair handrail parts. A few days after picking up the parts I found they had ordered a wrong part. They put a “P” where they should have had a”T”. Because it was a special order part they would not accept a return or exchange. Basically they said sorry.If you are ordering from them you need physically go to the store and confirm in writing that they are ordering the correct parts as they will not accept responsibility for any mistakes.

They almost always got what I need, even a lot of the older style trim work. If they dont have it, then can make it if you have a piece. Ive never had a bad experience coming here.

My partner and I just purchased some lumber (cedar) for a small home garden project from this place. Everyone there was very helpful, from the front desk people to the gentleman who helped us pick out which wood would be best and then cut it to size (no charge for that!). Besides the obvious knowledge of the people who work there, what was best is that no one made us feel dumb or like we were wasting their time for such a small purchase. I cant comment on prices here vs. other places/big-box stores...but that sort of service and convenience is totally worth every penny! And truly, the price for what we purchased didnt seem to be outpaced with what we had expected.

2 different employees took time to discuss my situation, and 3 more helped me put eyes on product, purchase, and load my cut to length on-site lumber. I had never been here before, and was completely amazed at the attentive service with with great attitudes from everyone. I cannot wait to make my next purchase from Siewers!

I needed some wood for some sign projects Im working on for my business, there was a mixup and the wrong wood was pulled. I called, expecting nothing to be done and id have to eat the cost and switch to a different supply company. that wasnt the case, I was forwarded to the owner Richie, and I left a voice mail, and he called me back. he said he figured it out, and hed give me the wood no problem and at no cost. he even delivered it. everyone was helpful professional and the building is top notch. I wasnt a guaranteed customer b before, but now I am. thanks for helping me out and making my job easier and going the extra mile to get my job back on track

The staff pleasantly checks on customers. What happened to the days when you could stroll into a lumbermill & order a solid oak door or a solid cedar front door. ? Not looking for Heart Pine. Things are so different now. Specialty jobs & labor are disappearing. Craftsmen were admired & specialized. Once. Wonder where everyone went in the last 30 years.

It seems as this is not the place for the end consumer to pick out materials. It seems that they have everything you could ever want except someone to ask questions to. This is more of a builders store and not for the home owner. Found the material we want to use, now I just need to find somewhere to buy it...

Get experience everytime. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable. Quick loading and an extra hand when you need it. Theyve got everything no one else does!

The people were nice and the store was clean and well organized however, i gave this review 2 stars because i needed 8 small (2 inches by 19 inches) cuts of Fir wood and they said it was gonna be a 3 week wait and 100 dollars. At that price i walked away because i can go to lowes and pay 14 bucks for a piece of wood and have them cut it for free. Im sure they are good for bigger projects though.

This place rocks! I needed Architectual samples, which didnt require a big order, so nobody really wanted to help me, but these guys not only took my order, but they actually milled it on location. They even got it processed in 1 day. I love these guys!!!

Very helpful people, actually had John Siewers on the phone for me last week, tracking down a hard to find item!!

I am not a contractor; I just play one at home. :) Owning and remodeling older homes means finding a good source for classic and historic moulding supplies. Siewers is a great source! I spent way too long during my last trip, and no one made me feel one bit unappreciated. The guys in the front and in the back were all extremely friendly and patient. With a combination of high quality, hard-to-find millwork and helpful staff (who, by the way, do not ever imply that a woman might be incompetent in her search for the correct construction items), Siewers Lumber and Millwork is the place to go for your construction needs. I am all in favor of employees having weekends off. Its just kind of a bummer that they are closed weekends when that is my usual time to work on home projects.

I just needed a 5 section of wood porch railing but had had no luck at the big box stores. Customer service here obviously deals with builders mostly, but treated me very well & helped me figure out what I needed. I was out with my piece in 15 minutes. Great price, service & products.

After I ( and another person at another co. separately from me) called 50 plus different places looking for hardwoods - this was the only place that had any significant lengths.Resource depletion is rearing its ugly head, its not just oceanic fishing stocks that are crashing! I used to to go by Lowes to buy fir and oak and its no longer available in any significance size whatsoever. if youre desperate I hear hardwoods are used in many pallets if you can divert a pallet that Isnt completely destroyed perhaps you can get a piece of hardwood there.I got a 10 foot by 3 inch by 7 inch Kiln Dried Maple beam for $169! But at least I could get hardwood! Their shop is also open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and rips or cuts that lumber at $80 per hour with no setup fee. They are busy enough you have to schedule the shop several days in advance. That beam is a bit thick for my table saw. the only bummer is the business hours suck for us working folks - theyre only open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
