This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. They dont fill the new prescriptions my doctors office sends unless I call to make sure they have. I have been on hold for 30 minutes this morning to do so, and I am still holding. Every month I receive text messages that my prescriptions are ready, yet when I go to pick them up, the pharmacy does not have them ready. The employees wear their masks under their noses while they fill prescriptions. Their corporate offices should make more of an effort to better manage this pharmacy. 1/10 do not recommend.

Long hold times to speak with the pharmacy and drive through is super slow. They like to hang up on you after waiting 30 minutes to a hour when you call and have to wait so speak with some one !

Started going here when we moved to Roanoke. That was six years ago. They have consistently gotten Worse and worse at customer service. When you drop off a prescription for your wife that has kidney stones you cannot afford to wait to pick up in 24 hours. Do you need them filled immediately. Majority of the women that work in the pharmacy are rude. If you do not like your job find another one.

I wish I could give a half star. This pharmacy is awful. I was told my script would be ready (for an acute health issue) within fifteen minutes. I ended up waiting an hour, then got back in line only to be told they were out of stock of my medication. Were you going to tell me this or just let me sit here? I asked the technician. He replied, We sent you a text. I never got said text. Besides, I was sitting 10 feet from them for an hour. He called the pharmacist over, and she said she could transfer the prescription...but by that point almost all the pharmacies in my area had closed for the evening.So now Im sitting here in considerable discomfort, awaiting tomorrow morning when Ill go to another pharmacy to have this prescription filled. Im not going back to CVS, that one or any other. Do yourself a favor and avoid it as well.

Absolutely the worst Pharmacy Ive ever dealt with! Ive been waiting well over 10 days for a prescription Ive been notified three times that it is ready. When I showed up to pick it up all three times it was not ready. Now they tell me they are going to have to order it and it will be another several days before I receive it. No one ever answers the stinking phone and when they do theyre rude and put you on hold and never come back. I refuse to go to CVS from now on Ill choose Walgreens, Kroger, or Walmart!

Bathrooms were unclean. Got told I needed a CVS card to get their reasonable sale prices. Cashier was rude and unhelpful - told me signup would take a long time and that the CVS card was a credit card (dont believe that is true, she was just trying to discourage me) I left my items and went to Walgreens.

This is genuinely one of THE WORST pharmacies in all of Roanoke. The staff will treat you like you’re incompetent while displaying a demeanor of hating their jobs/lives. I can’t imagine how poorly they’re treated in order to act this way, or treat their patrons as awfully as they do, but something needs to change. Whether it’s management, the pharmacist, the CVS store as a whole: regardless, it needs improvement. This is the ONLY 24 hour pharmacy in this part of Roanoke, so expecting a high volume of customers would be natural. The sheer unprofessionalism and rude employees you have to deal with when coming here is not worth the hassle. Unfortunately for us though, it’s not a restaurant or shop we can all just avoid, it’s a pharmacy. DON’T be polite or kind, as they will NOT extend the same courtesy to you. Good luck!

I called to check if my medication was ready for pick up and when i was transferred to a person i gave my DOB then ms. Abby asked for my. DOB I gave it to her and asked my wife why would they wast my DOB twice ? Ms. Abby. Got a pretty bi3 attitude and told me she doesnt have to serve me. Here lately the customer service has gone down hill. Its now take 2 and 3 days to fill meds and dont even bother calling. I was on hold for a few minuets, which is completely reasonable, and then they set the phone down and never picked it back up again. They left my call hanging for 15 mins. I hung up and called again. Got my question answered in a few seconds after having to stay on hold again. They confirmed that my script was called in 2 days ago and they might have it done today, meanwhile Im in pain.

Got a letter from Caremark that I needed to switch my prescription to them since Im in their plan. Their website said I could pick up my meds Aug 5. Today is Aug 10 and still dont have them. I will go to Kroger and have them switch my prescription back. Will never use Caremark again.

Not a very good pharmacy location. I went there last night and delivery truck was blocking the drive thru for the pharmacy. I am currently very sick and did not feel like going inside the store and spreading my germs so I just parked my car and walked up to the drive thru behind TWO cars. The two cars ahead of me picked up their prescription just fine and it was my turn and I got to the window and the guy told me that the drive thru is not open while the delivery truck is there, EVEN THOUGH he had just helped two people in the drive thru that I saw with my very own eyes. He told me that I have to go inside to get my meds. I go inside to get them and the line is super long, I notice a guy in the line that was just at the urgent care that I went to previously and I left my appointment before he left his. He was in line ahead of me and when he got to the window they told him the wait would be 10 min for his prescription. When I get to the window they say they couldnt find my prescription sent in from the doctor, i ask them to look again and they see it but they then say that they will expedite filling the prescription for me and that it would take TWO HOURS. lol TWO HOURS. this is just a horrible experience but unfortunately the only 24 hour pharmacy in the area. if I can help it I will never go here again.

I have been a customer for years. I asked to use their restroom and they said it was closed to the public. I was very disappointed. I put down the items I was going to purchase and walked out. I called my pharmacy and they said there bathrooms were available for their customers.I doubt Ill be back.

Worst CVS ever! Never got a “How are you today?” Or any type of greeting.. They messed up on my prescriptions not once, but twice.. in the same visit! The lady who wears the red glasses couldn’t walk two feet to get me a bag... not to mention how dirty it was back behind the counter..

This is by far the worst pharmacy Ive ever been to. The waits are horrendous at any time and day. Even if no one is in front of you in line, prepare to wait 30 minutes. Trying to call in? Forget it. While you wait in line you can hear how many people are on hold and stay on hold until they give up. I just waited 40 minutes in line for them to tell me my prescription is out of stock. Every time Ive come here theres been a problem.

I had been a loyal customer of the pharmacy for many years until today. I was able to pick up a maintenance medication as they call it last night, but wasnt able to pick up another one. They said they would fill it and it would be ready today. I had been requesting it to be filled online with the one I picked up for 3 days. Today the pharmacy technician on the telephone was incredibly rude and told me I had to pay out of pocket because they would not run it though my school insurance, which is the one I use for medications. However, the one I picked up last night was ran through just fine? I called Aetna, they told me it was a pharmacy error. The pharmacy technician told me I was not listening to her, when I explained I was confused on how this has never been an issue for over a year now. She had terrible customer service skills and should not be able to speak to any human, yet alone a customer this way. I ended up going to Kroger, where I paid less than I ever have with CVS and my FULL prescription was ready in less than an hour. Thanks Kroger, never again CVS. Your rude employees can be hateful to someone else.

I used to be a pharmacy tech so I can totally understand being busy but even considering the customer volume I can’t wrap my head around why everyone sits in the drive thru line for 25-30 minutes every single time. If someone’s prescriptions aren’t ready, ask them to drive around. It doesn’t make sense. I only go to this one because it’s closer to my house but daaaaaamn. Also!!! They don’t get paid to be Mary Poppins but they are the rudest staff I’ve ever experienced. They just look at you when you pull up and barely respond. Go work at another pharmacy if you’re that miserable trust me a job isn’t worth being that upset all the time y’all.

I came in with my prescription that I have filled every week for over two years. The technician, after looking at the script, went and talked with his manager twice. Hed just walk away, mid-sentence. Finally he told me that because the script was addressed for a different pharmacy, he could not fill it without talking to my doctor (Its Saturday, and the medication was a schedule 2 pain killer).I came in, as a new customer last week. They filled my prescription without incident, that had the exact same address on it. I asked the tech why they filled it last Saturday without a problem. He could not answer me, he simply said he couldnt do it.Well, no one told me that rule last week. And so I left without my medication. I am dying of organ failure due to an extremely rare virus. I didnt ask for this, and for the constant pain I live in. Not every person who comes in with a pain script is a junkie. I dont get why they can just act like they know my life. Ive never abused prescription medication, ever. Not that it apparently matters.They were absolutely heartless. I dont understand how people can be so cold. I miss my old pharmacy. I take medication for an autoimmune disease, and missing one dose could lead to several problems. I submitted a refill 10 days before I would run out of medicine. Long story short, 10 days later on a Saturday, still no refill. The pharmacist literally told me to wait until Monday when he knew full well I can NOT miss a dose of this medication. Not only were both the tech and pharmacist rude, but they obviously dont even know correct practice about the medications theyre handling out. Will never get a script filled here again.

Several times within the past several months I have had a prescription desperately needed and for WHATEVER REASON, it has taken over 3 hours to fill or their system did NOT NOTIFY ME!!! Their staff is RUDE! Customer service training is needed. Especially for the lead pharmacist.They boast how busy they are.... which is because of their being open 24 hours.I’m sorry I did not use the CVS Brambleton, but they were not open. Terrible customer service. It takes around 10-15 minutes to get someone in the pharmacy to answer the phone. This is my first time using this cvs and it’s been the worst. They said they can’t text you to alert you when rxs are ready until after 9 am? Which is odd and the woman working today was very frazzled and said she was the only person working. Obviously it’s not her fault they are over staffed. I was just released from Roanoke memorial hospital and was requesting some other items such as Tylenol etc through the drive thru due to health reasons. I asked if she would please write it down and have it all ready with my rxs and she refused to do that and said I would have to do that when I pick up rxs. As a customer that’s not feeling well I don’t think that procedure is efficient and I will be going to another pharmacy. You can do better cvs!!! Get it together management!

Since I wrote the below review I have had better service at this CVS and have changed my rating to a 3 star. Thank you.Written early 2013:I never realized the importance of having a good pharmacy until I experienced a bad pharmacy, this pharmacy. They are slow, inefficient, unorganized and unprofessional. If there is a problem with your prescription they will not call you but wait for you to physically go to the pharmacy to learn that your prescription is not available. On four separate occasions I have been unable to get prescriptions filled in a timely manner due to this poor communication and lack of organization. Once it took them 2.5 weeks to correct a simple computer error, during that time I was without my prescription. During those 2.5 weeks I visited the pharmacy every other day, and every time the assured me that they would correct the error and that my prescription would be ready the next day. I have been a patron of CVS pharmacy for approximately 10 years all over the country. Never have I experienced one so horrible at communication and incompetent.

The brunette woman at the minute clinic was cold, rude and condescending. As I am someone who works in the medical field, I am aware that is exactly how NOT to treat someone else who has come to you for care. She was incredibly unprofessional but I was lucky enough to get a thoughtful, young man at the pharmacy who helped me while smiling the entire time. He was the only reason this visit gets a 2 star instead of an even more sour review.

Three major things for me and this pharmacy:I received my prescription which was a three month supply on Dec 4 2018 and the expiration date for the medication was Dec 2018.I get needles and syringes and often are filled with one to three varieties of needles. The gauges are often incorrect and the syringe itself too. I’ve had empty needle packs come in my bag as well that I had to go back to the store and get it refilled.Most of the staff are great. There’s a pharmacist that was quite rude and stand offish last time I was in about a full body allergy attack. She was not very helpful in directions or instructions as this had been my first ever allergic reaction.

Terrible service. My doctor sent in my script at 2:30 i showed up at 6 the script still wasnt ready. Gave them my new insurance info and said I would come back tomorrow. Come back, wait 15 mins in the drive theu line for them to tell me my insurance wasnt updated and i would have to circle around and wait AGAIN for it to process. Picking up a script has turned into a 30 min ordeal and its ridiculous. The drive thru is a joke and I will be driving out of my way to go to Walgreens instead.

The pharmacy could not figure out how to bill my insurance even tho I provided my Insurance card so I did not have the medication I needed. I called my insurance and a guy from my insurance had to tell them how to do there job so I could get my medication after being on the phone for hours.Everything in the store is over priced af. They have a subscription; you pay five and they give you 10 in credit but every in the store is $5 or more unless you buy a snack. Like a package of 3 chapstick was 11 bucks.

They are really unprofessional and rude, I went there after spending like 10 hrs in ER and I was the only customer there at that time but the pharmacy person said you have waited this much in ER, there is no harm in waiting a few hours here to get meds and she just kept on appearing busy, doing nothing. And I had to wait like an hour or more although there was no other customer.

My pain meds are due to be filled today.I have to be at work at 7am in Radford.I am told that they cannot be filled until after 8:30 that they are a Maintenance prescription...Such pain in my back side!Oooh that reminds me.One other time I was due to get the same script filled and I was working late out of town and didnt get back to Roanoke until around 9:30pm I stopped to get my meds refilled and at that time I was also told that I could get my pain meds filled because it was after 8:30pm and that Walgreens on Williamson Rd was open until 11pm. So I went there to get them filled and there was only one question what where the pain meds for....So I will never ever take my business to CVS anymore no matter what time of day it is!!!!!Thank you Walgreens for helping me out then and Ill be there when you open up this morning late for work or not!!!!!

Incompetent smart alecks that often blame their errors on you or your doctor. Never had i had a good experience here. The staff is undertrained and rude. Go somewhere else. Rude, half wit jerks that make sure they take every single possible dollar you have. Force you to use insurance for medicine and WONT combine a coupon with your insurance. So you basically get punished for having insurance?!?!! Bologna. 99$ with insurance and 40$ WITHOUT insurance? How does that work? Monsters working for monsters. Horrible Pharmacy Service. I am always having to wait 1 to 2 hours for medication. They never have the medication in stock so I am always having to be transferred to other CVSs. Their Doctor working in minute clinic was rude, and mis diagnosed my sickness with a nasal invection. My wife is a Nurse and told her he been spitting up blood and green. We left very upset went next door to AFC they diagnosed my problem as pneumonia. Please be very careful this lady could of really hurt me. Stay away right next door is professional’s!

I was sent to the Colonial Ave. Roanoke,VA pharmacy, on Jan 12, 2018, from my regular CVS pharmacy on Brambleton Ave.Roanoke,Va. because they did not have enough of the medication to fill a prescription for me. This has happened a few times, and, I had used this pharmacy many times, in years past. I am being treated for stage 4 inoperable cancer, I am recently, suddenly, widowed, and am on a very small, fixed income from social security. I have had to switch to a new insurance provider the first of the year, after many issues with the previous insurance provider, I knew there would be some preauthorizations, and, had contacted my doctors office to get them taken care of. There were still several demands not yet met by my doctor, and, I spent over an hour on my phone, in my car, at this store, trying to get it settled.The main issue, among others, was a number per day limit. Since I had been out of the medication for over 24 hours..and, was tired of being shifted from one person to another, I decided to settle for getting the amount insurance would cover, amd, that way i would have my medication for several days, long enough to get it straightened out with insurance. (It is a pain medication, and, I was in the verge of just giving up and going their the ER at the this point) When I asked the pharmacy tech to do the partial fill, the pharmacist called me to the desk..she was one of two on duty I did not get her name, for reasons to follow, i was too stunned..but she is short, wears glasses, has straight, dark, shoulder length hair, with fuchsia colored streaks in it..she began to yell at me! Saying that she was going to let me get the partial fill, just this one time, but, they were being investigated, (?!) for controlled substances, and, when i started to say i jad been sent there by the other CVS, she held her hnd up in my face and told me to shut up, she was talking! She screeched at me that I was NEVER EVER to come back to that store EVER AGAIN!! She was red faced, and so furious, I was so shocked, and, not feeling well to begin with..all the other clerks ducked and turned away, as if this has happened before, and they knew it was coming! I did not know how to react. I just asked for my prescription back, and left, I sat in my car shaking and crying until I was able to drive home!I have never been so rudely treated, for no reason, by anyone! Especially, someone who is supposed to be a professional! I have been using CVS for over 27 years, when we moved to this area, for all my familys pharmacy needs. I will continue to go to the one on Brambleton Ave. They eventually were able to give me a ten day supply, which I had to pay cash for, out of my very small pocket, because there were still insurance issues to settle. The girls there are always so patient, kind, helpful, and go out of their way to explain things, and take very good care of me! I feel as if they are family. But, that person at the Colnial Ave store should not be allowed to deal directly with customers, and no wonder they are being investigated, they are so unorganized, and inefficient, (spending all that time in my car, calling insurance and doctors that my regular pharmacy tech said should have been done by the techs there, which has happened there before, instead of making me do their job for them!) if you want to keep any, because obviously, if she is screaming and attacking them, to never come back, they wont! This person needs some anger management and customer relations classes, to say the least! I have problems with anxiety, and depression, from my illness, and, its hard enough getting through the day as it is..I am still having anxiety attacks, and feel so degraded, and embarrassed by the way that person treated me! . I have tried to do all I can to make the process as easy and smooth as possible, its not my fault insurance companies are so difficult, nor my fault she was being investigated, nor, that I was sent to her pharmacy, I think she needs to find more suitable employment, away from people!
