Took my car here for an oil change like a year and a half ago, Im driving around for like 2 hours running errands. I get on the highway and right in the middle of me switching lanes my car locks up while Im doing 65mph, I struggle with the wheel to get to a safe place. Wondering whats wrong cause I just got the oil changed it should be running right. I look up under the hood nothing then I see oil coming from up under my car. They didnt put the filter on right and it fell off while I was driving all the oil leaked out and the engine ceased. Had to get another car and they wouldnt even pay for what theyve done, never again will I take my car there and my family were always pep boy customers. Well they lost 20 to 30 of my family members behind this, thanks pep boys. I had a Jeep Liberty yall definitely remember!!!

I use to love this place. They were always friendly and very convenient until the last 2 times Ive called or walked in for help. Laura is rude and just hangs up. This place has gone downhill so much in the past year and a half.

Was their for a wheel balance and alignment after my struts were replaced. They made up a poor excuse not to do the work and complete wasted 3 hours of my time.

Scheduled appointment online a day in advance, rearranged entire day to get to appointment, and then got a call cancelling it because in 2020 the computer system isn’t updated. Then I get an email saying “thanks for letting us know you can’t make your appointment.”

Linda was absolutely fantastic. Personable, professional, and knowledgeable. She provided me a Lyft both ways while I left my vehicle, I didnt have to do anything. Notifications came right to my phone. Not to mention I was on a rushed timeline and they made it happen with half an hour to spare. I live 20min away but will gladly make the trip back whenever necessary. Thank you Linda!

Online prices are cheaper than in store prices and they wont give you the online price so you have to buy it online. Then when you go to pick it up the online price isnt correct in the store and they have to manually enter the price. Positive side is selection is big and they are working on fixing the pricing issue.

Called today5 times! Went to perpetual hold twice, then they picked up the phone and hung up on me 3 times without a word! I tried 3 different departments with the same results. Don’t waste your time going to this Pep Boys!

I could not have been more satisfied with my experience with this Pep Boys location over the last two days. I called on a Friday needing new tires, brakes, oil change and inspection. I was given a very fair estimate over the phone and was able to schedule the work to be done the following day. Laura, who took care of me both days is truly great at what she does. She did everything in her power to keep costs down, honored all the prices she gave me over the phone and even kept pricing the same when the tires I was originally quoted for needed to be changed to a more expensive tire. She called with an update on something that came up during inspection and assured me she would do what she could to keep the cost down. She came through big time by throwing in the oil change for free and figuring out any other discounts that could be applied. I have never been so happy with car service before. There was no upselling or magical extra costs. For someone who wants it straight when it comes to vehicles, this is the place I am going from now on. Excellent experience all around!

Excellent service, great price. These folks have squeezed me in when needed for urgent repairs and got to me on time when appointments have been made. Truly appreciate the service center for diagnosing and repairing issues in a budget friendly way and finding coupons to use when able. Appointments are made for the week days but weekends are first come first serve so get there early!

The folks at this location are excellent. They have better turn around than the Henrietta store which I also like immensely.

I got brand new they claimed “good” tires here even paid for the extra warranty and I have had nothing but issues ever since. I’ve been back countless times & have had to pay out of pocket for bs every time. These people are scammers!

On 10/5/18 I brought my white 2001 Acura TL for an inspection the day after I got a ticket for an expired inspection and I’ve had one of the worst services ever. The check engine light was off and Kenny (who used to work here like a couple months ago) told me it failed because the “monitors weren’t ready”. I never got a text saying the car was done or anything. My mom and I went past there and my car was in a different parking spot. The worst part was that I even work at the service department! When I went to pick my car up, the radio was reset because the technician was having trouble starting my car. I did not have difficulty starting my car. I took it to the pep boys in Greece and got a new inspection sticker with no problems. Pep boys service in Irondequoit is a complete joke.

I recommend taking your care to be serviced here! Kenny is a wonderful service manager! They are honest.

I always come to Pep Boys in Irondequoit to work with Kenny, he is straight forward and honest. Honesty and trust is hard to find when having work done on your vehicles. Hes never tried to sell me anything I dont need. I have also been there and seen him handle unhappy customers, he stays very calm and sticks to the facts.

I waited close to three hours for them to replace a headlight bulb for me... And once they gave me the car back, they told me that the other one needed adjusting so they went ahead and did that for me. I was grateful until that evening when I turned on my headlights to see that they threw in a super cheap bulb into the replaced one and that they looked like a toddler aligned them. One is aimed straight down and the other is aimed far left. Not exactly what I would call useful.

Not a big fan of the service department at this location. Its a bit of a hassle and would much rather go to the Greece location. I had them do some electrical work that wasnt done properly and ended up getting charged again for the same service! Not happy at all! As far as the parts department goes decent prices sometimes the cheapest sometimes not. But always good quality products!

Went in looking for a reverse light for my work truck that i couldnt find at two other autoparts stores. Found one and it was missing the wiring harness and the guys grabbed me one from a different light that would work. They were helpful and friendly. I will definitely be returning to this location in the future.

I am back a week later to say how I gave Pep Boys another chance. Kenny the manager reached out to me and heard my concerns. He apologized and asked me to bring my car in and let him do the inspection. He told me to come anytime and would work with my schedule. He even offered Lyft to take me to work. I cancelled my appointment at the dealership and gave Kenny a chance to make things right. He did that and more. He got me in right in this morning and made sure I knew about the recall on my vehicle.Thank you Kenny for making the situation right. I will change my stars to a 4 because I did have to come back.

I got the wrong size wipers and the [female] manager helped me get the right one plus got me an additional one with a $20 credit!!! good service!!!

Do NOT get an inspection there! Got a huge list of items they said I needed for inspection, I took my car back without replacing anything and brought it to another garage where I had to replace two things to pass inspection.One of the items I needed happened to be brake cables that were put on 14 months earlier - brake cables do not wear down that fast!Do not trust them.

The people are very nice and professional thats why I go to pep boys they explain everything to you.

Long story short: Absolutely hideous experience getting tires installed on the car.Ill just list all the problems. An actual narrative of events would be far too long:- Customer Service Guy asked me 3 times why I was there (kept doing other things, then completely forgetting about me)- Was promised a ride back to work so I wouldnt have to wait (ride never happened)- Was told they had guys with nothing to do so it would be quick- Appointment was for a 1 hour job (install 4 new tires), took THREE HOURS (thats 3 hours lost at work too)- Was told that the technician was on his 1 hour lunch break (no attempt to apologize at all)- Was told the car would be right out front, so I waited out there 10 more minutes (it was 30F outside)- Came back in to ask about the car, was told Its just coming off the hoist nowMy experience with Pep Boys across multiple locations is that they have cheap prices and terrible customer service. They dont honor appointments. They cant - they way overbook to make up for lower prices. I only go here for tires, and maybe not even that anymore.

Theres a lady working behind the counter who is quite nasty on the phone. Her etiquette is terrible. I simply asked if I could schedule an appointment for an oil change and she responded rudely. I liked their customer service and all I just didnt really agree with the price. They charged me $280 for power steering fluid pump install, added engine coolant fluid, and changed the oil. I dont know it just didnt seem as if they were being all that fair with the price but they did great work on my car and it runs like a champ!

I was very satisfied with my service there. Sosa and CJ were very customer friendly and helpful. Sosa gave me an accurate estimate and called me as soon as my car was done. Both Sosa and CJ didnt mind getting their hands dirty. They helped put hubcaps on my car and patiently answered any questions I had.

Frankly the store is often a bit discombobulated. The isles arent marked and the staff is often too busy to help.

I make an appointment for 11:00 am on Wednesday for oil change and tire rotation, when I arrive they tell me that the waiting time is about 3 hours to which I reply that I can not wait that long, the assistant manager I suggest making another appointment for Thursday at 8:00 a.m. in that way I would not have to wait so long, well, I did that. I arrive early and when I talk to the other assistant manager and to my surprise, he tells me that the waiting time was about 5 hours, I tell him I have an appointment for 8 and he replies that this does not mean anything that only assures me turn on the line If I had not bought a guarantee for my tires that included tires rotation, I would never enter any Pep boys

I scheduled an oil change service online. I was promised that it would take a maximum of 30 minutes, so I went right on time, the clerk told me that its gonna take 45 minutes since none of his mechanics are available. I thought to myself, thats okay, its just an extra 15 minutes, so I went to the Walmart next door and killed an hour there. I came back and saw my car sitting at the exact same spot. When I came in, the clerk lied to my face saying that the car is already with the mechanic. Waited for another 15 minutes, at this point I have been at this place for almost an hour and half for a 30 minute quick oil change. I finally asked for my key back and promised myself to never go back to Pep Boys again. Now Im getting an email from Pep Boy asking why I didnt make my appointment.

The management always takes good care of me and my car! I only go there for all my car services they do a great job every time.

I had an oil change done and when they put the screw on to the oil pan they stripped it. All of the oil ran out of my car and on the coldest day in Rochester under the red light on Mt. Read & Ridgeway at 7:30am my car engine seized up. They would not admit to doing anything wrong even though the shop that I took it to was able to prove that it was their fault. It cost me $1500 to get a used engine put in my car. They will NEVER see me or my family n friends again!!! I would give zero stars if it would let me!

Dont go to this company. they dont diagnose they just add to cart all the things associated with problem instead of fixing issue. took my scion here and after that appointment they cost me more money at dealer to reconnect my bluetooth. needed loud noise fixed. they wanted me to spend 1200 for all new exhaust when all i needed was a to change the flanges with with install cost me $30 at another shop. RUNNNN away.

Pep boys is a good place to have your car look at or fixed they are very affordable.

Had a 5:00 appointment and car never came in the shop untill 5:40 it took 1hour and 20 minutes to dismount,mount and balance 4 tires very slow nice people just very slow

I had a small leak in my rear ac lines went there they ran a check on my ac and wanted to charge me $500 to replace the lines i didnt want to pay that much so i brought some sealer and some freon now i added freon last year no problem since they touched my truck as i added freon you can see it spraying out the back of my truck i ne er saw anything like it so it seems to me they set me up i will never go back there .....almost forgot the price changes depending on who you speak to at thebgreece pepboy its about $35 on the website its $35 when i walked in the dude at the counter tried to tell me its $50+ so when it was time to cash out i think the lady was a manager she charged the correct price $35 but i wouldnt recommend this pep boys to anyone go to Greece they just dont have a ac mechanic there thats the inly reason i went to this 1 they are horrible and they take forever

Horrible, took truck in the night before to get tires, called in the morning to get ETA, they say Im next and about 2 hours, so I get dropped off around that time, wait In line 20 min only for them to tell me they only had 2 tires and have been meaning to call me to see if I wanted them done, they waited 2 hours to not even tell me I have to find out when i get there with two kids in tow. Now i have to wait for them to put my tires back on. Not good service at all!

Horrible place it seems like they hire people that have no idea about auto motive and get them to work on your car. Took in my vehicle with a check engine light and abs came out with 3 additional lights in the ignition. After bs after bs. Everytime they dont know what the problem is take forever to get the problem fixed and then came the day when where adding a part to axel and a sensor to the transmission came loose like how is that possible. I wish i could rate these people lower because them working on cars should be illegal.

I had a terrible experience when I went to Pep Boys Irondequoit to get my oil changed and my car inspected. I signed up for the appointment online and I was prompted to call them to verify the appointment. I called and was told that i was all set. Then when I went in there, they had none of my correct information. They took my keys and said there was one person ahead of me. I waited about 20 min and then informed them that I was leaving and asked if they would call when my car was done. They said yes and verified my phone number, which was wrong, I gave them the correct number and left. I called 1hr and 45 min later to ask them if my car was done and the man that answered the phone said that he called me and left a message. I told him that i did not get any message or phone call and he proceeded to swear that he called me. When I asked him what # he called it was the WRONG number, even after I verified it. At this point I was irritated but at least I was going to get my car back. When I got to the shop, my car was still up in the garage and it was obvious that nothing had been done before I called. I paid for the service and was told they were just finishing up...... why would they have called me and left a message if the car was not done. Finally I asked them if they had done anything to my car before I called and they fessed up that no they didnt do anything and someone had put in the computer that my car was done when it wasnt. Then when I looked down at my work order sheet none of the information was correct, my name was wrong, my address wasnt even in the Rochester area. So on top of the service people being incapable and not caring, all of my information was wrong in the computer. The service people were pleasant, however, I do not feel as though I get a thorough inspection or oil change and tire rotation because they were rushing through it trying to get it done before I got there. I am extremely disappointed with the service and I do not suggest anyone go there if you expect anything more than terrible.

I went to Pep Boys for a second opinion when a nearby shop told me that my car needed $1400 in work to pass NYS inspection. The mechanic at Pep Boys showed me that the other shop lied, saving me from paying for unnecessary repairs.My total bill at Pep Boys, $21 for the inspection!

The staff has always been friendly. Sales on wipers are always nice too, specially in the winter.
