Jake just made my 23 year son Nick (who has learning disabilities) the happiest boy ever!! He spend so much time giving him Brock Lesner pretend tattoo’s! Amazing young man - and the whole staff at Upstate made this such a fun day!! The best part - Nick thinks he has gotten his first, second and third tattoo!!

Upstate Tattoo is great! The vibe from the shop is calm and super chill. I worked with Ben and he is an awesome artist. Ive worked with him before and no matter the size of the tattoo he always makes sure he puts 110% into every piece he does. My friend came with me and she had her own concerns about getting a tattoo due to the fact that she has eczema. Both Ben and Katie were there to answer all her questions, which was awesome. Ben even offered to do more research for her to make sure getting a tattoo was something safe that she could do. I would highly recommend going to Upstate Tattoo, everyone is super friendly and the artists clearly put their time and care into every piece.

I did a lot of research before choosing Katie to do a watercolor piece on my back. Katie surpassed my expectations for my tattoo. She is very nice and patient and made me feel very comfortable. The atmosphere there was awesome. Everyone is very supportive of eachother and they were complimenting each others work. I still have one session to go and I cant wait to see the finished product.

Great atmosphere, clean and professional but still easy going and comfortable. Billy’s Celtic designs are absolutely tops! Don’t expect to walk-in, point to an image on the wall, and get it slapped on that day, it’s not that kind of shop. Good custom art takes time and planning, and that’s what they do best! When I’m ready for my next piece, this is where I’m going back to!

I had my tattoo done by Billy. Had a consultation done with him and he drew up what I was looking for . Came back in to take a look at it and set up an appointment. Really enjoyed the experience and thought all of the people there were really awesome. I would highly recommend the shop.

The first time I got a touch it was great, however I never got a response for my appointment which I personally talked to and emailed the artist which told me she would get back to me with a rough draft of the pice I requested.

Had a great experience with Kyle for my first big tatto. He was super attentive to detail and listened to everything I wanted. 100%recommended

I made a tattoo appointment a month before visiting Rochestor, and was reffered to someone else. So I called and cancelled that appointment, then rescheduled with someone else. I messaged the new girl, who was supposed to do my tattoo, and she said she would draw it and all, and got my hopes up. Then, when it comes the day to get my tattoo, I go in, and they inform me that she is incredibly sick, which is fine, I understand. But I had no call or warning that she would not be there. Then, I was told that if I came back the next day, she would be able to come in and do my tattoo, because the other artists did not want to “steal her client”. Well, not even seeing my design yet, I agreed. Then the morning of the new tattoo appointment, I get a message saying that she would have to cancel, again. Since she would have to cancel, to call the shop and see if anyone else was available to do my tattoo, considering I leave tomorrow. So I called the store, and was told they would give me a call back to see if anyone was available. I get a call back with a “sorry for the inconvenience”. It is not right to tell people you will be serviced and then telling them they will be not. Will NEVER get a penny of my money.

About five and a half years ago, I began my quest for amazing tattoo artists around Rochester New York.. A friend of mine suggested Jamie Cole at upstate tattoo.. I had a great tattoo in mind that needed to be visualized and I gave Jamie a consideration. So I friend requested him on facebook and sent him a message with an idea of what I wanted and set up a consultation. Upon first impressions of not only him but his co-owner Bill, I was amazed and thoroughly blown away by not only their professionalism but their extreme talent. Not only are they extremely professional and talented but they uphold a very clean shop as well. From first introductions to now and beyond, I refuse to take my business elsewhere.. I would suggest and recommend this place to everyone and thank them for being such a fantastic place to go.
