Hometown atmosphere with waffle cones to die for. On the other hand the ice cream scoops must not be cleaned well between flavors because my ice cream had a hint of mint with no mint in the flavor I got. I wasnt a big fan of that.

Salted Caramel (on the left) is the best!!But Raspberry Lemonade (on the right) is too sour for me.

You have to appreciate it when a business is willing to try out things just for the sake of creativity and thats what youll get with this BBQ Bacon Special. That said, I also think this flavor combo missed the mark with the small and chewy bacon bits. I was hoping for more of a BBQ flavor from the sauce but unfortunately it ate more like a simple red berry syrup with a slight tang in what I believe is their base vanilla ice cream. This may not have worked but please dont stop being creative. Cant wait to come back soon!

Very, very tasty! Pleasant man working the place and prices thatd youd expect for artisan ice cream. Strawberry was good not great but the vanilla was AWESOME.Ill certainly head back when Im in the neighborhood.

Their chocolates and ice cream are amazing. They have such unique flavors! However, the staff is not particularly friendly and dont seem to know very much about the products.

Service was friendly but the ice cream just didn’t live up to the hype! My cherry jubilee did not have any real flavor to it and the cherries had an icy mouth feel. The fresh cones just didn’t have the impact that I’ve come to expect from other high-end ice creamery‘s.

Wow I can’t even fully describe my love for this place. It’s absolutely my favorite place to go whenever I’m in Rochester and I had to hold myself back from going like every single night while I was living nearby. You can get caught up talking to anyone who works there forever, I’m convinced they are some of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life and will ever meet. The ice cream is to die for and they always have new art and t shirts for sale and it’s just the cutest. Their strawberry flavor is my favorite but they’re always coming out with new flavors so you really have to follow them to see what’s new or just pop your head in constantly like me and see what they have

As soon as you walk in you know your in for a treat. Simple, small, and super smelly with confectionery goodness!! We bought the Fruit & Nut Truffle assortment, Truffle ends, Cassis Sorbet, and Chocolate Sorbet. O.M.G. Everything is made with experience and love. Some of the best treats to ever go in my stomach!! The Staff of 3 was extremely friendly and helpful, and informed us they were just helping out while the owners regular employees were enjoying a staff party. Very nice gesture to see. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Loved the salted caramel and chocolate sorbet! Not a huge fan of sorbet, but chocolate flavor from this place was definitely and exception. We also tried the goat cheese whiskey flavor, but it was not the best.

Nice well rounded locally owned business. Updated and nicely done decor, the menus could benefit from a few more selections.

We had had a spicy meal in another restaurant, and needed some ice cream to cool it down. This place was close by, and turned out to be much better than expected. They only have 6-8 flavors, but they change daily, and they are all really rich and tasty. I had the salted caramel and coconut flavors, and just loved them both.

They have a one-party-per-time rule, and you can go in to order and take out your ice cream. I love the fact that they have cool flavors like Lemon thyme sorbet and Peanut butter caramel. My friend and I ordered a Chocolate sorbet in a cone and double scoop of Strawberry and Cookies and Cream in a cup.

They got really good matcha chocolate &strawberry ice cream.

This cone was hands down THE BEST cone I’ve ever tasted!! Light and crunchy, but not dense. Sweet, buttery perfection! The ice cream was gourmet! Highly recommend!!

The chocolate sorbet is out of this world. If you are looking for some exceptional, gourmet ice cream you wont be disappointed. Its outstanding in every way. However, the chocolate sorbet is the densest and most decadent thing youve ever eaten. Its as rich as a truffle and overwhelmingly smooth. Once you try it, youll be back for more.

The dairy free chocolate was very rich in flavor.

Most flavorless ice cream Ive ever had. Its pretty hard to screw up ice cream but I had to check after to make sure this place wasnt a dairy free alternative or vegan. Its certainly not either of these. I had the strawberry, salted caramel, and bacon bbq. Id rather eat McDonalds ice cream than this place. I guess its more for the hipster atmosphere than for actual flavor.

Service tonight was amazing for ice cream. Creamed corn was good. BBQ was just okay but the corn bread chunks were too dry for the ice cream.

Every time Ive come here, its been a 30 minute wait outside because the workers dont seem to make an effort to keep the line moving. The ice cream is just... not great. At the end of the day everything Ive tried has lacked flavor or been overwhelmed by chocolate chips. Definitely not worth the price or wait to me.

Awful experience. The employee working there was rude and condescending from the start. The guy greeted us by saying something at the wall in the back of the room. We said we were here for some ice cream cones and he sarcastically says well Ive gathered that... The guy was clearly irritated that customers walked in and wanted to buy something. After that bad experience and $11 for two small cones later, the ice cream was the worst weve ever had. It tasted like it was sitting uncovered in a freezer for a week. Find yourself a better ice cream shop- one without miserable employees and disgusting products.

Their sorbets are my favorite. Also their housemade cones are some of the best Ive ever had.

Help, I cant stop visiting! I have sampled a few of the flavors, and they are all amazing, but I have not been able to stop myself from buying the chocolate sorbet every time. As a victim of lactose intolerance, I have always had to worry about taking Lactaid with my ice cream, but the chocolate sorbet is dairy free, as are other flavors. The taste of the ice cream is not sacrificed in order for the ice cream to be dairy free; it is every bit as delicious as regular ice cream, if not more delicious. The chocolate sorbet is my favorite because of how rich the chocolate tastes, and it is a creamy ice cream despite the lack of cream. I ended up buying a pint of chocolate sorbet ($10) during my visit today to save myself from driving to Hedonist so often. There are a handful of flavors offered, and they change every so often; some are very interesting flavors, such as goat cheese whiskey fig which is offered right now. Besides having amazing ice cream, Hedonist also has amazing staff. They are all very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Dwayne is particularly great. Every visit fuels my addiction to this place, and I will easily fill out my customer loyalty card and get that sweet sweet free scoop of ice cream.

Hedonist ice cream always has a couple of unique sorbet options available. Their Limon Thyme is delicious! I am allergic to dairy, so it is great having these options available right in my neighborhood. My family also has great ice cream flavors to choose from. My daughter loved the raspberry chocolate truffle.

Didnt go in. Was visiting HEDONIST ICE CREAM. Was my FIRST visit in 2020. EXCELLENT, as always. Chose a scoop of fig ice cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a cone. Was EXCELLENT! As always.

Long wait to be served. 40 minutes for my girlfriend and I to be served 2 small cups of ice cream. I wont be back any time soon. Seems this business is suffering with staffing?

Amazing ice cream! I think they were remodeling? So it was just a tiny chocolate shop that happened to have a freezer of ice cream in it when we went, but I had this amazing vegan chocolate sorbet, and my friends had the strawberry and the candied pecan and also loved it. The staff was super friendly and chatty and let us sample the ice creams as well. Recommend!

Hands down my favorite ice cream in Rochester. They have some unusual flavors that are amazing—things I wouldn’t think to put in ice cream but taste delicious. Their more traditional flavors are also fantastic. My husband loves their strawberry ice cream.

Its dangerous living less than 5 minutes away from Hedonist Ice Cream. I love this place. The new flavors are always unique and fun to try - a recent one was their Kettle Corn inspired ice cream, really tasty! The employees are always friendly and kind and have no problem with people trying many flavors.

This is an AMAZING must visit Rochester locale. Tried the Banana sorbet it was out of this world delicious. Great spot for a quick snack, small store front definitely get crowded during peak evening hours. Otherwise highly recommend checking them out.

Ice cream was pretty good. Id still encourage folks to head to Pittsford Dairy if possible for wider selection. Sadly the gentrification of the neighborhood was quite obvious and many patrons waiting in line were not comfortable.

Great ice cream place. Service is fantastic. They will give you a sample to try if you ask. It is a fairly small spot, with a couple of standing tables. I had the chocolate sorbet. It was very creamy and not very sweet. The flavour was super intense, almost like a dark chocolate. It didnt seem as sweet as a normal sorbet, almost gelato-like. But it was extremely flavourful and yummy. Definitely go come back.

I want to love this place but I simply can not. Two stars for the colorful scooped displayed on the wall but I feel like this space has the potential to be so much more. When we came in for a visit all tables were dirty along with the floor. Overall disappointed in the cleanliness of the facilities. We gave the ice cream a try anyway. The strawberry was okay, but sadly the vanilla had a freezer burnt taste to it.

This is easily some of the best ice cream in Rochester. Not only are their flavors inventive and delicious, but their staff is super personable! I constantly visit this place, and if you havent already you should definitely give them a try.

Hedonist ice cream I delicious. I got salted caramel and chocolate sorbet with hazlenut crumble in a waffle cone. I loved hedonist! The only reason it is not 5 stars is because I like more interaction with store employees when Im out and the woman working wasnt overly social. Next time I may be able to make it a 5 star review.

Best Icecream in Rochester! They do equally well with the classics as with their surprising creations. My suggestion: dare to get out of your comfort zone here - youll be dazzled!Staff are friendly and competent. The vibe is authentoc and local. A must-hit in the Rochester food scene!I cannot comment on their chocolates... yet.

Very friendly people, great service, interesting flavors of ice cream. We didnt go to the candy store, just the ice cream place. The only thing I would change about this place is the number of flavors of ice cream they have. However, they did have plant-based and dairy-free options, which was cool.

This is one of the very few ice cream shops I have been to where I crave their ice cream (the chocolate sorbet, specifically) so intensely for days after eating it. It’s so deliciously decadent. The waffle cones are also the best I’ve had. Definitely check this place out! :)

Ice cream flavors are so unique and SO delicious and you can tell they’re very fresh. They even do ice cream reward punch cards! The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

Always unexpected and yet always fabulous. The staff is ALWAYS upbeat, friendly and happy to chat with customers and teach them about their unusual offerings. Tastes are available, which you will WANT to take advantage of, and dont worry, even the oddest sounding ice creams are somehow always done well here at Hedonist.Dont believe me? This last trip I tried funnel cake, lilac and blooming onion ice cream. Yes, you read that correctly, BLOOMING ONION. It wasnt exactly sweet, not exactly savory, but I expected to dislike it intensely and instead found myself deeply intrigued. We decided it would be a perfect topping for potato-onion pancakes.I also didnt expect to enjoy lilac ice cream, and ended up being enchanted. I had my bowl half chocolate sorbet (vegan) and half lilac. My only qualm being that where the chocolate and the lilac co-mingled, the chocolate overpowered the more delicately flavored delight of the lilac. But being a long-time fan of the chocolate sorbet, I expected that and took the risk. The funnel cake flavor would have been a better option, but who could resist something as exotic and ephemeral as lilac; especially here in Rochester during the season of the blooming?I am loathe to share the secret, but dont forget to ask if they have any seconds pints. These are discounted and always fun to take home. We got espresso, which later discovered to be a sorbet. My boyfriend, being lactose intolerant and immune to the effects of caffeine, snagged that from my freezer for his own. The other pint was Mystery-- in that they forgot what batch it came from. Turned out to be a blend of chocolate and vanilla with peanut butter cups, and some other intriguing treats tossed in-- sort of an homage to Rocky Road? But delicious.Dont forget to get your loyalty card punched. After 6 visits, you get a free pint. Theres only a couple tables and quite frequently a line, so get there early and try something different. You can always go ahead and order you same-old flavor you always get, but take a chance and try a spoon of something unusually delicious and different at Hedonist!

Small place serving a limited number of flavors. In my opinion, the taste was alright but nothing too special. When I entered, it was difficult to ascertain what the line was for the counter. People were standing all over the place. Staff were friendly and helpful.

I LOVE the authentic flavors. However, my Violet Flavored ice cream tasted like vanilla. NOT a place for family ice cream night. Seating space is limited and the ice cream is $$$$. Nice place to go to as part of a date.

The flavors are always different, interesting, and delicious! the staff will let you try as many flavors as you want. the waffle cones are delicious and really the only way to go. a small is about perfect if you want a serving as their scoops are pretty generous. the atmosphere is nice and the staff is friendly!

I tried the caramel bacon and the pumpkin and both flavors were very freezer burned and crumbly. The flavors were actually quite good but the consistency of the ice cream was shockingly poor. Sucks, I really wanted to like this place but I guess I came on a bad day. Probably wont go back.

Love how they change up the menu. Ive tried and really liked some unique things here. Location is perfect the service is pretty good. One time I went 10 minutes before closing and a few families did the same so the 2 ladies working seem very stressed however I would have been too with the amount of people wanting to try things

Just go.The chocolates are spectacular.The ice cream choices are amazing (I got the coconut curry and it was DAMN good!!)Pricy but well worth for the selection.Yeah there are other choices in chocolate that can be picked from but this is local, fun, different, and the gift box of truffles and fruit/nut chocolates was much appreciated when given to mom for her bday.Will definitely be back!!

Tasty, flavors are handcrafted and change frequently. Unusual flavors like fig, hazelnut, and regular ones too that are better than what you would expect. Worth the trip, worth the price.

Truly unique and delicious homemade ice cream, with both traditional and unusual flavours (like rosemary lavender or chocolate pizzelle.) They always have two non-dairy sorbet flavours, one of which is a dark, intense, unbelievably delicious chocolate.

Ive been coming here for years with my son. Hes 14 now and we just stopped in for an end of summer treat. How wonderful! I had the matcha ice cream in a waffle cone, and he had a root beer float with vanilla. About 2/3 of my way through my serving I let my son taste it and almost didnt get it back! The service is great, the product is better, and being able to walk right over to Star Alley to eat it is the best. Ill keep coming here until they tell me I cant!
