I was traveling through and wanted to have my brakes checked and suspension upgraded before heading into Montana. The team of technicians at Rock Springs Auto are wonderful and helped me with the set up I was looking for. They do great work at fair prices and sure do make their customers feel at home. I highly recommend Rock Springs Auto and will continue to have maintenance work done with them whenever Im in the Rock Springs area.
What an outstanding experience. They worked on my Ram Cummins Turbo Diesel. Fixed an issue and was very fair with their pricing. I am just traveling through Rock Springs. They made me feel like a life long customer. Cant say enough good things about them. They are good people that you can trust. I highly recommend them.
We broke a tie rod miles from Rock Springs. Better World Club sent a flat bed to rescue us. I called Rock Springs Auto Repair en route because they had the best rating. Even tho we pulled in after 5:00 on a Friday night they were ready for us and replaced both tie rods in our camper van and even offered to let us camp, with power from the shop, behind their shop. The waiting room was super friendly, with fashion magazines, toys and kids books. What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a wonderful experience. Thank you Rock Springs Auto Repair!
We were on a cross country road trip and the car started to misfire. We stopped here as they were the only place in 400 miles that could get us in the same day. They were very thorough with diagnostic, but did not charge us for this. Parts were in short supply so they were unable to repair within our timeline, unfortunately. They were amazing to work with!
These guys are amazing! Came in with a flat and got it patched and replaced in no time! My thanks to Hubert for his quick and efficient service.
What I liked about Rock Spring Auto was their friendliness and knowledge base. I got a sound diagnosis. Where they could improve is in not giving quotes over the phone without knowing the details about the type of vehicle coming in. I needed a transmission fluid change and was told it would be about $50. It was $152 because of the kind of car I have. Second, They could do a better job assessing the situation by checking what type of parts are required before they start the repair. The transmission fluid required is a type they didn’t have in stock, so it took extra time waiting for the fluid to be delivered before the repair could be completed. I like this shop, and I would use them again, but if these glitches continue, I would find another option.
The best place ever. Our car made a funny noise and the battery light came on during a roas trip from Denver to Portland. They diagnosed the problem quickly, fixed it and we were back on the road in less than an hour. So grateful and happy!
Took a quick look at my Subaru and gave me great advice.
Awesome people, fast work, very affordable. Steves a good kid.
Lets start with... these people are totally lost. We had a truck with parts ready to go in. We were told 8 a.m. it would be in the shop. Two days later its still sitting in line. The excuse was they had other vehicles in front of us that did not have parts ready. Instead of putting our truck in, the mechanics were seen both days just sitting. I will definitely never use this shop. Its teenagers running it. No experience in the front or back.Total waste of our time. Took it to another shop it was in that day. This shop is not worth your time or money. Your loss Rocksprings auto.
Quick, good prices, especially great for travellers with vehicle trouble.
Super friendly and great prices. A* customer service
Extremely positive experience. Been having car problems a lot but got an honest diagnosis and some vital help with no exploitation and a low cost. Everyone in town recommended this place and I see why.
Needed front driveline replaced, O2 senzor needed to be cleaned, and front passenger side wheel bearing and hub needed to be replaced. I HAD been told that I needed catalytic converter on my car elsewhere so I purchased the parts believing that a friend of moms from church would put them on for me, but when it came right down to it, he decided he would rather not. Being a woman, Its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic!! Especially if you drive a Cadillac. They automatically think you have money, and that simply is NOT the case. Ive got my dream car, but no money to go with it. SO, back to my point, I asked around for opinions on how I could find an honest mechanic that wouldnt take me to the bank, and I was sent here. I am SO THANKFUL!!. After taking the old catalytic converters out, he discovered that we were given parts that wouldnt fit. The good thing was, I didnt actually need them, so Brent got new gaskets and put mine back in. And boxed up the unnecessary parts for me so I could get my money back. I told him that in March I had taken it to the dealer, and they had supposedly done a front end alignment on it, but ater they did there were a lot of times when I was trying to turn and it would catch, and the belt would squeal. I also told him about a noise I had been hearing in the area of the wheel that has a problem that Ive been hearing for almost 3 years and until him, nobody could find. My car will never be going anywhere where else for a mechanic. He could have told me I got the wrong parts but gone ahead and gotten the right fitting ones and put them on anyway even though I didnt need them, but he was honest. That is so hard to find and truly means the world to me. Thank you Rock Springs Auto Repair, and many many thanks to Brent!! I seriously appreciate all you do for me!Gerry Brunk
If they cant fix it..... No one will not be able too.....
These guys are the best. Hit a tire on the road and tore off a tail pipe hanger and bent the pipe against the rear tire. Less than 1hour and very reasonable price, I was back on the road. Thank you R.S. Auto
Cant complain. I showed up unannounced with a leaking water pump. They gave me an accurate estimate to do the repairs, ordered the parts, and got to the job as soon as the parts arrived so that I could get back on the road. Friendly people, and good service.
They were very nice and very knowledgeable And I would go there again
Interstate 80 in Wyoming eats cars for breakfast and this is where you end up when the road gets hungry near Rock Springs. We limped in with some crazy vibrations in an old SUV. We had to keep going, so we rented a car and drove the rest of the way home leaving the car at the shop. They called the next morning early, had diagnosed tread separation on a tire, swapped it, tested it and all was well. We had them fix a couple of other things which they did quickly and efficiently. Staff was helpful. Theyre not cheap, very nearly Seattle rates for labor but thats what you get when you get stuck in an isolated place like Rock Springs. I hope you dont have to stop here, but if you do theyll take care of you. One nag: they say theyre open until 5:30, but the place was a ghost town at 5:01.
I drove to Rock Springs from Colorado to visit a relative. Her car needed attention, so I took it to Rock Springs Auto Repair. Tony was the technician who worked on it. The repairs were done within the estimate and on time. Tony answered all my questions, and did excellent work. The personnel at the front desk were courteous and very helpful. All in all, this was an excellent experience!
Brought my car in for a complete custom exhaust system. Excellent job on routing it. Built custom brackets and went the extra mile to make it look good. Very fair price. I havent seen craftsmanship like this in a long time. I would absolutely recomend this shop.
Great shop. Thank you so much for getting my jeep fixed. You are now our auto shop for sure.
A big shout out to Brent, who went above and beyond, several days, to help us out when our vehicle ceased working just outside of Rock Springs. He ordered in parts, he tried to source computer code for our Hyundai -there is no dealer for miles- and personally gave us a ride to get a rental car. When no computer code was available, he did everything he could to keep our bill low since they could not fix our vehicle. It was a very stressful situation, but Brent made a difference with his honest care and concern. Wish there were more people like this out there.
Assisted me while broken down in Wyoming. Made the extra effort to make sure my repairs were done right
Best garage auto repair in Rock Springs. Fast & fair priced - they even warranty their work nationwide. I never heard of that from a small garage! I was very impressed. Front office staff is helpful & knowledgeable, and if you need to talk to a mechanic, Rock Springs Auto Repair will take that time with you. Theyll also give your car a once over look to make sure you are aware of other needed repairs or things that might need attention - something I appreciate. And no - they arent pushing other unneeded repairs.I appreciate a garage that takes that extra attention. Makes me know my vehicles are in good hands & my money is well-spent. Rock Springs Auto Repair is HIGHLY recommended.
Our old van went into Limp Home Mode about 20 miles from Rock Springs. After spending a day trying to figure out the problem (we couldn’t find anything obvious) we took it to RSA and talked to Brent. He had the van pulled into the shop about 10 minutes after we showed up unannounced, and by the time we had finished lunch he had the problem more or less figured out (there was nothing really wrong—just a finicky old van that needs particular care). He gave us his advice, and even went on a ride with us so he could reassure us that the sounds we heard were normal. Really gave us a good chunk of his time to put our minds at ease, and just charged us for an hour labor. When we were having overheating issues on the way back through town, we gave him a call at the shop and not only did he remember us two weeks later, he then talked my boyfriend through possible causes and fixes. Offered to send us diagrams.Honest and reliable, excellent customer service. Thanks Brent!
On a road trip, power steering stops working, thank goodness we were close to civilization and were able to quickly get into Rock Springs Auto Repair. I called while we were on the road, they got us in, looked us over, ordered the parts and fixed the car so we were out quick the next day. James and Brian were awesome! Thanks guys for fixing us fast. The car is running like a beauty now thanks to you guys. Great service.
My car broke down 20 miles outside of Rock Springs and I had it towed here, I couldnt have asked for a better shop. The staff was honest, kind, and went out of their way to make sure I was ok. They went above and beyond all expectations. Thank you RSAR!!!
These guys went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us out. Were from Oklahoma and got bad gas while traveling through Nebraska on our way to SLC, Utah. We ended up having to pull into this shop because we simply couldnt go any farther. This shop did all they could do to get us back on our way. I wouldnt hesitate to give it a 5 star rating! Thank you Rock Springs Auto Repair!!!
My car blew up on I80 on the way to my Father In Laws funeral. The tow truck driver towed the vehicle to this shop and I must say I am glad he did. Although it was going to cost more to fix than it was worth resulting in my deciding not to repair the vehicle the owner offered to make arrangements to sell my vehicle for me while I was dealing with my affairs. Amazing customer service
I wished I lived closer to this shop! Traveling through WY, CEL came on and pulled into this shop immediately. Chris and his team were awesome to work with and helped calmed my nerves. Great service and great advice! Best of luck to Chris and his team! Highly recommend!
We had a vehicle part go bad on a trip west and we stopped here to get it fixed. It didnt take them very long once they had the right part. They were VERY nice and friendly to our large group that was there most of the day. Quick, efficient, and friendly 😁
My Subaru Outback was giving my trouble on I-80 just before Rock Springs, WY on my drive back to Dubois, WY. I spent a bit of time going from mechanic to mechanic looking for someone who would work on Subarus. I was recommended Rock Springs Auto Repair, and luckily they had space to see me that day. I was super impressed by their friendly, kind, and knowledgeable staff, their ability to get my issue diagnosed and fixed in a short amount of time (I was out in just a couple hours), and their fair prices for parts and service.I highly recommend this shop to folks traveling through who run into auto issues around Rock Springs, WY. Thanks for all the help!
RS Auto repair has outstanding service! We broke down on the interstate and googled mechanics near me and came up with RS Auto. Reviews were positive but you never know. Figured we would give them a shot when we pulled into their lot, all stalls were full. We talked to Kevin and he knew we were stressed. He immediately took one car off the rack and Bryan had a diagnosis almost immediately. Kevin showed us what the problem was and showed us the bad part. Said the best he could do would be by noon the next day because parts had to be special ordered from out of town. He even hooked us up with a ride to the hotel. He is very trustworthy and we need more people like him and Bryan in this world. He could have taken advantage of us but just wanted us to not stress and get us back on the road. If I lived in Wyoming he and Bryan would be my mechanics forever. He got us back on the road earlier than promised and did a great job!! Thanks so much. Lisa, Kevin and Bryan!!!
Quickly gotten us in for oil change and repair on our electric plug for trailer along with fixing the ITA sensor
Cant imagine any other repair shop willing to do as much as Kevin did to help us out after hours over the weekend. Incredible ethic, professionalism, and sincerity in his work. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anybody. Thanks again Kevin!
If a new alternator is different than the old 1 dont put it on and tell me its missing something. Ill take my business elsewhere.
Very timely and honest
Took my Subaru Impreza here with AC compressor related problems. Chris diagnosed the problem at no charge and I went on to order/install the new part myself. After having trouble getting the new belt on the compressor, I took it to Chris who put it on knowing full well that I was essentially bypassing his business by doing it myself, again insisting no charge. Other shops were charging $95+ for this simple belt installation....I made sure to pay Chris while he and his team have solidified business from me in the future. Excellent and understanding service.
Friendly and accomedating staff with quick turnaround.
Last summer, I put a few gallons of gas in my trucks diesel tank before smelling it. RS Auto was luckily down the street. They did an excellent job finding time for us (during a busy weekend) & pumping out the tank that afternoon. Thanks to them, we continued on our vacation. Sorry for the late review. Just found the phone # for RS Auto on my desk.
Party I was traveling with hit a deer and knocked out power steering. RS auto mechanics patched the car up best they could and only charged half of the time spent on it. Nice guys.
So far so good.
My Corollas starter needed to be replaced and the mechanic in Yellostone ( where we were) didnt get the part in after ordering it the day prior and we needed to head back to Colorado. We were manically calling mechanics that were on our way but no one could get us in that same day ( understandably). However when we called RS they had the part and were willing to get us in, even though we didnt get there until close to their closing time. They were incredibly helpful and fairly priced. They saved the day and got us on our way back home quickly.
We broke down on I 80 late Friday night near Rock Springs. Our tow truck driver recommend RS Auto Repair saying that is where he would take his car if he needed help. They were open Saturday so after spending the night at the Econolodge just a block away, I called them at 8 when they opened. They were understanding that I was stranded with my family and had me fixed and on the road b4 I even had to check out at 11. I highly recommend these guys if your driving through and need some automotive help.
Rock Springs Auto Repair is amazing at what they do! Thank you for the excellent customer service! I will be recommending you to everyone I know!
They don’t want to stand by their work. The turn signal went back out and they don’t want to fix it even tho it’s in time of given warranty
I have had oil changes and shock work done at RS Auto Repair, and I am very satisfied with their business. I also am satisfied with the prices I pay for their services. I always go back to RS when I need something with my car done and recommend them to my friends and family.
I had a minor problem with my car during a road trip and was lucky enough to find myself across the street from Rock Springs Auto Repair. Chris and his crew immediately fit me in their schedule and set to work. I was in and out within 10 minutes, with the problem fixed and an unrelated issue also resolved. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. If I didnt live in another state, this would absolutely be my go-to place for repairs of any kind.
Every time I need help, RS Auto is there...fair prices, EXCELLENT mechanics, stellar service!
Great shop with really good people. I really enjoyed them squeezing me in today.
CHRIS is so friendly and helpful. He is so honest. My car was making sounds in the back part and after checking everything, he did not charge me anything saying the car was ok but he did tighten the muffler screw and checked my tires and waters etc. I saw one of his team tighten the screws when CHRIS explained that everything was ok. I would recommend their team for car repair. Thanks a lot. I was already thinking how much I would pay but after hearing I did not have to pay I was surprised. Coming from California where just opening your car, you already pay this experience was amazing. Anyways for appreciation I gave CHRIS and his team a tip for snack. Thank you guys. You are all awesome. Nice meeting you and everyone in our long drive trip were awesome.People in East Coast are nice and friendly.
Excellent shop! This shop operates with honesty and integrity! Kevin and RS Auto has earned my business. Thanks guys!
My 2002 Suburban and I broke down on a cross country trip and were towed 50 miles down I-80 on October 19, 2017 and dropped at RS Auto Repair on late afternoon, just before closing time. Kevin, the proprietor, and one of his mechanics had my problem diagnosed by closing time and had a replacement fuel pump delivered to the shop for install first thing the next morning. They estimated they would have me on the road by noon the next day. They beat their estimate by two hours and had me ready to go at 10 AM. They also offered to arrange a hotel using their discounts and recommended restaurants for my evening in Rock Springs. If you break down while passing through Rock Springs, I encourage you to take your problem to Kevin at RS Auto. It worked well for me.
Asked for help with my daughter who is single and has children of they could send someone to look at her vehicle which is just down the street. They werent even willing to look. I feel bad that things arent like they used to be in Wyoming where people cared about other people and ..can you imagine how positive a review they would get by helping someone in need. Was told 60 bucks to look. Wow, and only if towed.
This place ROCKS!!! Went in to have a rattle on my truck checked out, no appointment, got right in with no wait. Mechanic found the problem right away and it was very minor. He did an overall check and even replaced a headlight. Charges were EXTREMELY reasonable!! They even let me bring my dog in the office while I waited. Highly recommend!
We were driving through Wyoming on our way to Idaho for Thanksgiving on a Sunday, when our vehicle broke down. Kevin answered his phone even though he was closed and met us at his shop in his church clothes. He wasnt able to fix our vehicle that day because the parts store did not have a part that was needed, but he drove my husband to the airport to get a rental car. The repair was done and our vehicle is good as new. We highly recommend RS Auto Repair. Kevin went above and beyond.
Great service, excellent technicians, they knocked my exhaust out of the park, would recommend anyone to go there for any of there mechanical needs..
My family were traveling from CO to Jackson Hole when the timing belt went out on my Lexus a few miles from Rock Springs. I looked for the closest mechanic and found RS. They were awesome!! Stopping what they were doing to get us on our way the next day ASAP and at a very reasonable price. We cant thank Kevin and Chris enough for helping us in a very stressful situation.
Awesome service for travelers who break down on I-80 on a Saturday. They got us back on the road and had treats for my kids and my dog too while we were waiting. The kids were entertained by the pet turtle while we waited. Thanks for saving us R&S!
Professional friendly staff. Had my new exhaust installed in 1 hour flat. Keep up the pro work!
I made an appointment a week in advance, dropped my truck off, 3 days later and they have still not even looked at it yet, I guess they dont need the business, I told them I couldnt have my truck sitting there, I need it so I can work, but it still sitting there untouched. It is now 6 days later, and every day I get the same lie, we are just pulling it in to look at it. Ridiculous and unprofessional
Ive taken several vehicles to this shop and never disappointed. The leader of businesses in this community in honesty and integrity and workmanship.Thank you RSAR
11 days in their shop. I learned the hard way. Unethical buisness practices & criminal investigation.Rock Springs Auto, TheBottom of the Barrel. Custom Satisfaction, minus 5 stars !!! 0 repairs done, but still charged for their mis-diagnosis, and this vehicle is an 86, no computerization. Petes Auto figured the problem, in 30 minutes, and I was on the road again in less than 2 days, and charged fairly for Professional mechanics and staff. This is the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Learn from this Review .
Friendly! If you are traveling they will get you back on the road ASAP. Honest and reasonable. The owner drove a kid back to eastern Kansas no less! You dont find service like this every day..
Saviours!!!!! This mechanical shop have real good talent to find any issues on the car in your way to Jackson Hole. Awesome people, friendly and real good customer service.
Excellent customer service! They were upfront about costs and timeline and were happy to answer questions.
Great place to do business
These guys are so fair and do great work.We were passing though with our gas RV and they dropped everything to get us down the road.Such good fair people.
These guys to honest work at reasonable prices
I have used them a couple times in the past year and a half now and the people there are all friendly. The mechanic is a nice guy along with the receptionist and owner.
Chris has always done me good. He stands behind his warranties as well.
When my DeLorean was overheating on the drive from Chicago to Salt Lake, I thought I was either going to have an extended vacation in Wyoming or finish my road trip in a tow truck. Nate and Chris found me a new thermostat and got me back on the road in a couple hours instead of a couple days or weeks. These guys are lifesavers!
The mechanic guy was noledgabl. But the front desk girls charged me 3 times more than the real price of that part. When I showed them the price that I find in my phone ( stores in the same city) they just ignored and said No this is the price we buy it. Making money on parts like this is not acceptable.
Great service and knowledgeable mechanics did the job right and nothing was pushed or rushed.
I came in and I asked to change serpentine belt, nothing else. I thought that its gonna be minor repair for few $. I wanted to know the estimate but I also said that if its gonna be under $50 its ok. I came back after 4 hours and they asked for $260. I wasnt expected that. Mechanic said you said $500 is ok, so we did it without your approval. What I was paying for? $60 for the belt (regular price is around $25 for the exactly same one), $90 for belt tensioner (I didnt want to change it, they did it without my approval) and $110 for 0.8hours of work (i was supposed to pay $140 per hour of work). After my complaint about the price the price almost immediately changed to $200=$60 for belt, $90 for tensioner and $50 for 0.4hour of work (now they charged me $110 for hour of work). After a long talk with Kevin (the owner) the resolution was you are gonna pay or we are gonna take those new parts and wont put the old one back. Kevin also said my guys are making money by overpricing the parts from the shop, so I dont have to charge my customers for $140 per hour of work but just $110. (Anyway for the first time they charged me $140 per hour of work, not $110). You are paying for professional service Kevin said.At the end I was forced to pay for the belt and also for the tensioner which I didnt want to (they told me that the tensioner was the reason of damaging the belt-but again, I didnt approve this repair). After 15 miles of driving I noticed that the cruise control is not working! I was sure that it was working when I came to Kevins shop. I drove back all the way and told Kevin, than someone screw something with my car.Thats impossible, its not related. But I am gonna have a look at it Kevin said. Kevin had a look and noticed disconected thing leading over the belt and tensioner (this thing was responsible for the malfuction of cruise control). So the guy who changed the belt and the tensioner disconected something in the engine by mistake. So I paid $110 for hour for professional service and this proffesional guy by mistake disconected something in engine without noticing. And what was Kevins reaction? It happens. Without any kind of apology. And one more thing. Kevin broke drivers door handle in my car. I didnt hear any kind of apology for that either. So I will have to pay another at least $50 to someone whos gonna fix my door because I am not able to open them right now.Everybody can say she gave him one star, he has 5 stars in all other comments. But you know what? There is no another car repair shop in whole city! Not even closer than 60 miles. So if you are stucked on the road and you need to fix your car immediately, hes your only choice.
They did a good job on my moms ride
Very helpful to get you back on the road
Awesome people they know what they’re doing!!
The staff at the shop are great, they are knowledgeable and the atmosphere at this shop is top notch.
Customer service was great and everything was done in a timely manner.
I have been taking my vehicle to RS for over a year now and they are just good people here. They always have my car ready on time.
I broke down passing through and they got me back on the road in 2 hours. Awesome service!
We had to get towed from I-80 while on our way to SF. They were quick, kind and we were so relieved. CANT THANK YOU GUYS ENOUGH!!!!
I get my oil from RS and they always have it ready when I need it. They have a really good staff working here.
Im very satisfied with RS, they always take care of me. They saved me $750 on a repair rather than going to the dealer.
They go above and beyond. Great service!
Great place to get work done
Get the job done
So far so goor
My wife was passing through when her car broke down they sent someone down to the gas station she was at and brought her car there and had it back on the road in a few hours
