I had a purpose to visit Rockledge, FL, and happen to just stop at this Speedway. While I was waiting for my roommate to go inside and make his purchases, I saw a sign above the gas pumps that states Any Size Drink for 79 cents. This sign shows photos of soda cups that appear to have soda in them. The sign is on a dark read background with white lettering.I decided that I would get a drink, as this is the usual price I would pay in my home location at the local Circle K.I went inside and chose the largest cup size and filled it with soda. While I filled the cup, I noticed the counters were not well kept. There were sticky stains and spills all over the counter tops. This was noticed even next to the sink that was located behind me, while I was facing the soda fountains.Although the place looked clean elsewhere, the food and soda fountain areas were not well kept.I proceeded to the counter to pay for my drink. The cashier rung the drink up and stated one thirty nine. I looked at the register and sure enough it showed this drink cost $1.39. I challenged the cashier stating there were signs above the gas pumps and on the soda fountains themselves that stated any size drink for 79 cents. The cashier, I did not read his name tag, however the receipt identifies him as Jeremy V. immediately got rude, and indignant. He notified me, if you look it says everything except the maximum size.I was quite taken back by his demeanor and decided I would pay for the drink and get out. I paid cash, he did not offer a receipt. So at that point I was now unhappy and requested the receipt. I let him now that I planned to get my money back for false advertising. To which he replied in a rude manor good luck. When I left the store, I looked at the sign above the gas pump, and found sure enough, in small black print on a dark red back ground it does state *except maximum. To me to me is a very clear attempt at the old Bait and Switch method of sales. Place in large clear print one thing, and then in small unclear print state an exception, or a different price if you choose one specific item although the sign itself states Any Size.I would never go back to this Speedway. And I would never go to another Speedway again. I will stick to the Circle K brand, where I have come to find that all employees tend to treat customers very well. And they keep their stores much cleaner. As well as they advertise Any Size Drink for $0.79. And they actually mean any size, you can bring in a 64 oz cup, which is basically a 2 liter, and fill it up and still only pay 79 cents. Basically with Circle K, you find truth in advertising.I would say to anyone I know to stay away from Speedway!
I love the night shift staff theyre very polite and always so helpful, theothe store is clean and stocked with my favorite redbull and (beer) overall enjoyable experience every time I come in :)
Jon is really cool and great guy. Brenda the manager is rude and talks to people as if they are dumb. I avoid going there when shes there. I hear they cant keep employee s because of how mean she is. There was a very nice young man who was working there and was very fast and gave great service. Havent seen him there anymore guess Brenda chased him off. Theres another lady with a knee brace whose slow and clueless. Unless Jons working I avoid this store
My go-to convenience store, always a positive experience, staff is friendly & helpful especially Jon- he is THE MAN, hes personable, creates a welcoming environment & cares enough to know my brand preferences & has them waiting for me at the register - excellent customer service & professionalism!
