Great place good people and awsome boatwork

I looked everywhere to find a jetboat mechanic, everyone said the closest 1 was in San Antonio. Luckily I found this honest Mechanic in Rockport. I gave him a call the weekend of July the 4th and told him the problem I was having on my yamaha boat. Within 3min he diagnosed my boat over the phone and said it was a fuel injector. I took it to him he worked late at night hooking up the computer which gave him no codes. He didnt have time to work on my boat but I took his advice and had injectors cleaned elsewhere and it solved my problem. I was able to celebrate the 4th on the lake with no more problems. And he didnt even charge me. Its hard to find honest people much less an honest Mecnk nic these days and hes both. Thank you BigWave for coming through in a BigWay...

Great staff taking care of your boat and jetski problems.

I called John at Bigwave Boatworks to see if he could possibly get my 2003 Yamaha 200 HPDI running again. I bought this boat non running with 80 hours on it and it had been sitting for a few years. I had this boat worked on at other places before and it was never running right when I got it back. Most times it would be broke at the dock unloading it. I was about to buy a new engine because this Yamaha had been such an issue and it had died again and wouldn’t start. I found John and he was willing to work on my boat even after I had told him the whole story on it. Long story short he got my boat running! He fixed the Yamaha HPDI and it runs like a brand new engine! I told him I needed a new T top fabric and he replaced that too! Very friendly, helpful, and told me to call him if I had trouble while out on the water and he would help me out. He is definitely my boat mechanic from here on out and I live about 3 hours away!

Boats never break down at a convenient time, and my boat has not been an exception to that rule. Every time I have taken my boat to John he has been able to diagnose the issue right there on the spot and has always been able to get me back on the water that day or as soon as he can get parts in. He’s a super nice guy and very knowledgeable about boats. I would recommend him over the other shops in town because he always makes the time to check your issue out in person right when you bring it in. It’s not like the other shops where you tell the person at the front desk what’s wrong with the boat, they put it in the computer system, and then tell you well “Well we’re booked a couple weeks out”... I had friends in town for a long weekend and I started having motor troubles on the first day. John diagnosed my issue over the phone while I was driving to his shop at 4pm on a Friday. We were back on the water Sunday after the parts arrived from Amazon. I’m not aware of another shop in town that will go to that length for a customer.

John took a few of us disaster relief volunteers for a fishing trip at short notice. John is a nice guy and really knowledgable about boats and fishing, and we had a great time powering through the bay at top speed!The plan was flexible, and he was happy to take us to a bar and restaurant as it was getting dark, a good end to an exciting day.I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him to others, and I’ll definitely hit him up when I’m in the area next.

John did an excellent job getting our boat in and out for service. He is reliable. Give him a try. Fair priced also.

I have experience with Captain John as both a fishing guide Captain as well as work done on my boat. He is extremely knowledgeable and honest. Hard to find guys like him anymore! Ive sent several friends his way for both services, and they have been pleased as well!

My 90hp Johnson had been in several shops for poor performance and idle issues. John found the problem and it runs like new. Amazing. Excellent service, honesty and integrity. I would highly recommend him.
