Bob was super helpful in a pinch! I pulled up a few minutes before opening and he helped me, with no problem. I needed to remove a rear license plate that would not budge. He was quick and careful, and he replaced my bolts at no charge. I gave him a little something anyway for being so gracious at such an early hour. Thanks Bob!

This shop is always professional and very customer focused. I’m not a automotive type of guy and I always feel that the staff there really cares about the quality that they perform on my car and also is attentive to me when I don’t know what they’re talking about. They will always tell you straight up what needs to be serviced and will ask if you’re understanding what they are telling you and will give you suggestions whether you can service yourself or bring your car in to do it for you. This shop doesn’t make you feel like they are pushing you to do something to make money which is the biggest reason why I will be going back when I need to service my car knowing I’m not being taken advantage of. Working with Rob and his team is by FAR the best auto repair experience I have EVER had (and I’ve tried a lot! I’ve even flirted with taking auto repair classes when I’ve been so mad at the terrible shops I’ve subjected myself and my cars to!). Rob listens, shoots straight, and takes into account my current needs (like - “I can’t afford a new catalytic converter right now - what are my options??”). I can’t recommend these guys highly enough!

Excellent customer service. These guys are patient with customers and dont mind taking time to explain in detail what needs to be done and why it needs to be done. High quality, reliable work. They are honest and dont mind choosing the less expensive option if it will resolve your problem even though it means they wont get as much money from you. They specialize in Subaru and Dodge Chrysler although they service all makes and models.

This place is so awesome, I was having issues with my starter and since I was away I had my vehicle towed to them. They let me when the vehicle arrived, they diagnosed issues that the vehicle had beside the starter and ask if I would like them to start working on it. The professionalism is definitely higher than some mechanics I’ve went to in the past. I definitely recommend using their services.

Prompt, professional, and I really appreciate the complimentary car wash with every visit. Fully masked and kept things distant while in the shop, which made me feel a lot better. Every time I get my car back from Superior Auto, it feels noticeably better than when I dropped it off.

I once owned a car that had defective piston rings. I later learned it was a common problem with the year/make/model. The piston rings would allow oil to coat the spark plugs and the engine would misfire.I used Superior Auto Service for oil changes and to replace an alternator. I was initially satisfied with their prompt service and detailed notes, so I felt confident that they would identify the issues. But instead of diagnosing that the car was leaking and burning oil, they recommended more preventative maintenance: changing belts, spark plugs, more frequent oil changes. I ultimately learned through the dealership that the car required new piston rings, solenoid gasket, spark plugs, and engine oil, which would cost over $4,000. If these repairs were not completed, the car would run low on oil and misfire regularly. Meaning all the recommended preventative maintenance would be in vain.As an owner, Im disappointed that Superior Auto Service misdiagnosed these mechanical issues. I spent twice the time and money needed to correctly diagnose the root cause. I would expect that something so large would be fairly easy to recognize. In hindsight, Im insulted that they recommended services that would not improve my cars reliability and shocked that they would allow any car to leave their garage in an unsafe manner, such as one that could misfire at any time.Owners need reliable information to make decisions about whether to repair or replace. I cant trust their recommendations, so I wont be using their garage anymore nor would I recommend it to anyone else.

I have been through MANY shops, having owned cars in MoCo since 1978. This is the first place that I actually trust. For the last 5 years they make clear what is necessary & what can wait. I ask a lot of questions & I often take a lot of time trying to understand the situation. Their patience is worthy of a trophy. They have evaluated cars for me prior to purchasing & have saved me from making some stupid decisions. The most recent work on our high mileage Subaru was done efficiently and with the consistent care & understanding that they are protecting human lives. They have been enormously successful because they are not a one & done shop - they want me to come back. I learned about them from a dear friend, although you don’t know me - I hope you appreciate my recommendation as much as I did from my friend. Just don’t recommend them too much after they work on your car - I still want to be able to get an appointment when needed. 😉

This was my first time going to Superior Auto Service in Rockville, MD and taking my SUV with almost 200,000 miles. I had the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) replaced and reprogrammed. Rob Bethke, the Store Manager, suggested to replace all 4 tires that were almost worn down. I followed his advice, and I got a new set of Michelin tires. I deeply believe that Bob Kearns, owner of Superior Auto Service, and his entire team have their customer’s best interest, and I will choose Superior Auto Service again in the future.

While moving our son from Georgia to Chevy Chase, our 1996 Ford F150 stalled out several times, including once on I-495 that led to a harrowing 15 minutes of struggling to restart it. We needed to get the truck fixed before starting the long trip back home. After searching on-line and looking over reviews, we decided to contact Superior Auto Service. On Monday at 7:00 AM, I called and spoke with Bob. He mentioned that his schedule for the day was booked and he was shorthanded due to summer vacations. Despite this, he said that he would look at it as a courtesy to help a visitor from out of town.I got the truck there around 7:30 AM. Bob called me a few times with updates during the day. He mentioned that he would be working late on it. At 6:00 PM, I went to the shop. Bob was still there doing some diagnostics on the truck. He spent the next hour finishing his tests, carefully explaining the various problems that he fixed, and describing the other, less urgent repairs that needed to be addressed once we got home.The cost of the repair work was very reasonable. We were able to head home the next morning. The truck ran smoothly all the way back to Georgia. Bob even called me to make sure that we made it home safely! I was very impressed with the knowledge, care, and concern that Bob showed. That level of service was truly outstanding. We cannot thank Bob and his staff enough.We highly recommend Superior Auto Service. The Rockville area is lucky to have an excellent auto shop nearby.

Worked great with my warranty claim! They evaluated the tire properly and showed me the damage done to the interior wall. They were knowledgeable about safety and manufacture standards. The guys were nice, got the tire I needed the next am and even called me to confirm. Def a positive experience when I expected a nightmare

These guys were able to get me in on a short notice since the need was fairly minor but important. I and my family have used for many years. Prices are reasonable, and do a good job of keeping me updated on maintenance needs of my car.

The people provide excellent service: all estimates have been accurate, the costs never go above the estimate [unless they contact me first]. What I admire most is the nice owners business model: mechanics are well trained, each specialist works on my car, and the office manager gets parts delivered as needed -- so almost all repairs are completed in one day. This is great customer care you dont find in many places. They call you by name as if youve been friends for years, and they remember shared personal stories from visit to visit. My Lexus failed the emissions test so I took my car to Superior and was told by Bob that an inspection would cost $57, so I dropped off my car the next morning and soon I got a call saying I needed further inspections and would cost $275. The $57 inspection was only a VISUAL inspection which I was never told. I refused to pay the $275 and picked up my car. Took it to another Auto shop who inspected it and in five minutes told me to change my GAS CAP, which I did and my Lexus passed the emissions. So Superior did a very poor inferior inspection for $57 and wanted $275 was a big lie and a scam. If you fail the emissions test that does not mean you can be scammed.

I was about an hour and a half from home and an hour and a half from my destination when my Jeep started to overheat. A quick search showed that Superior Auto Service was only 10 minutes away, andI pulled in just as they were unlocking the door. The owner and manager were both on vacation, so head mechanic J.J. took care of me. They quickly diagnosed the problem and found a parts supplier who could deliver the part the same day. Once the part showed up, it was installed, tested, and I was on my way. J.J. was very friendly and explained the problem and how it would be fixed and tested. While I was waiting, I saw J.J. interacting with several other customers, and everyone was treated with kindness and respect. When a customer came in who spoke limited English, J.J. brought Moses in from the service bay and had him speak to the customer in Spanish. Overall experience was outstanding, and if I lived in that area, they would be my regular service professionals.

I took my car here for a second opinion after getting hit with a huge repair estimate that didnt seem to make sense. Great customer service right off the bat, Rob greeted me by name when I came in. The owner (Bob) drove the car with me to experience the problem and then took a closer look. They prioritized what needed to be repaired now and what could be put off, which was really helpful. Very friendly and willing to patiently explain how and why things needed to be repaired so that I could understand. Took me back to look at things on the car while it was on the lift and showed me exactly what was going on, plus the old parts after they took them off. Ultimately they found that the problem was due to my previous mechanic who had done shoddy repair work, so I still have to go back to that place and see if I can get some compensation. But I will definitely be taking my car here going forward. Very pleased with the experience and confident in working with them going forward, they seem completely honest to me which is refreshing since I have never really found a mechanic that I could trust before.

Bob and Rob have been providing excellent service for our vehicles for over 15 years. They have maintained our two Volvos, two Hondas, and a Ford truck. I have always gotten honest, sound advice about recommended repairs. Often they will tell me that an item does not need to be repaired now but will require work in the future, which is very helpful. I have consistently found their prices to be competitive and their work to be completed when promised. Frankly, I would not take my vehicles anywhere else.

Ive been a customer for close to 10 years. The very low review below doesnt sound like the place Ive been doing business with. Sounds like a misunderstanding. Ive never experienced anything like what is described. After repairs If something isnt quite right, I take the car back, explain what Im experiencing and the problem is fixed to my satisfaction.

I have been coming to Superior for about 5 years. The staff always remember me and my car. We have a running list of items to repair. I dont have alot of expendable cash and they are great at working with me to get each item done in order of priority. The location is conveniently located to the Twinbrook metro and I always get a ride to and from the metro so the time that the car is in the shop does not disrupt my work day too badly. Last week, I was on my way to Washington, DC (September 27th - 29th) when my car had started to overheat. It ended up overheating so bad, my car was not turning back on. Triple-A took my car to SUPERIOR AUTO SERVICE at 12289 Wilkins Avenue in Rockville, Maryland 20852. I explained to the guy, Robert Bethke (I believe that was his last name), that I was out of town and needed my car fixed by Friday because I had to drive back before my event on the 30th. Since we had gotten there later in the evening, he took down my information and told me that he would get me a quote the following morning. He called the following morning and told me and my cousin, Eddie, that it was going to cost me over $4,000. He listed about 6-7 things wrong with the vehicle. I panicked and had no idea what to do, so Eddie decided to move the car closer into Arlington, VA to get a cheaper quote. We took it to a nearby garage where the gentleman had assured us that he would check it out. He was a VERY KIND MAN! When we went to call Robert about Triple-A picking up the car and moving it into Arlington, he became very defensive, rude and unprofessional. He had told me that he felt attacked because we were treating him as if he were ripping me off, which he claims he was not. As I was traveling, the gentleman from the garage that we moved my car to called and gave me an update on my vehicle. He told me that SUPERIOR AUTO SERVICE WAS TRYING TO RIP ME OFF. The vehicle was nowhere near $4,000 worth of damages, nowhere near as serious as Robert had said it was and clearly trying to take advantage of me. The gentleman said I DID have a radiator issue, and THAT WAS ALL! He charged me NOWHERE NEAR $4,000. He gave me an oil change, checked my tires, sensors and everything else! He worked with me and helped me out so much! I called the Better Business Bureau, leaving a Facebook Review and calling local news channels in that area to make sure that this will not happen to anyone else. Luckily, I did not fall for their fraudulence and knew better. SUPERIOR AUTO SERVICES tried to take advantage of a young person they thought they had trapped. Knowing that I had no time, they thought they could pull a fast one on me, but they didnt. I drove home safely today with my little sister, and there was not one issue with the car. Please share, so your Rockville, Maryland friends or other youngster dont fall into this trap!

I had purchased a new cadillac STS in 2006 and had it completely loaded. I fgured the car should last me through retirement. At around 100000 miles there were things that had to be done and the cost form the dealer was outrageous. I did not want just anyyone touching my car. Thankfully I ran across an ad and review for Superior auto and they specialized in cadillacs as well as other high end cars. Took the car in and went through the check list with Bob. I ended up getting twice as many things done to the car for less than the dealer would charge. My car rode like it had just come off the showroom. Had a few intemittents and they stuck with it. Unfortunately I had a minor accident and insurance totaled the car but when the warrant is up on my new car I will bring it to Superior.The one thing I did not mention, They do not BS about the pproblem nor do they overcharge. I am used to troubleshooting problems and I know when I am being Fooled. Bobs team had my total confidence during the first meeting. Pride in work is not dead you just have to know where to find it...Superior Auto Service.Rich Kelly
