I use to think Fred was doing a good job on my car until I went a better mechanic.You see all those junk cars in front of his shop?Customers car he couldn’t fix? Yeah some of your parts will be coming off of those abandoned cars instead of getting new parts that are “supposedly Ordered”your paying him for and 3-6 months later your car will break down with the same problem.My new mechanic told me I had old parts put on my car how could that be? Because I believed they were new at least that’s what I paid for.He never fixes the core problem and he will have your car forever don’t use him.He’s definitely not honest and Don’t leave anything of value in your car like quarters I don’t think Fred actually would take change but,those guys that valets the cars all day will.

Fred is a very creative human being and helped me on many occasions. My muffler went bad and he fixed it by resourcing to his creative nature and saved me a good amount of money. I do recommend him as a good and honest mechanic.

It is so hard to find a mechanic you can trust and Fred has been just that for us. My parents used to take our cars to him back when we were in high school and now as an adult I still call on him when things come up. He has always been very honest about what does and does not need to be done and always stands behind his work.

From my experiences, this shop is old fashioned, honest, very reasonable priced. Sometimes, if it is just small problems, they wont even charge for it. They wont tell you there are a lot of extra things that need to be fixed. I think the key to have good experience in this shop is the communication. Dont assume anything, ask them if they are busy, if they can fix it, when you expected to get it etc... Then call them again to check the status.

This is my go-to auto shop in the Montgomery county area definitely the best prices in town and the quality of work is very high I rate this place five stars because they fix my car every single time with a low price definitely recommended!!! Fred is a very friendly and knowledgeable person, when it comes to cars. He is extremely busy person. If you are in a rush, this may not be the place for you.However, my car needed some work, the dealer gave an estimate of $2800 But Fred did all the work for $ 1100.- very reasonable pricing. I am happy with his work. I have referred couple of my friend and they are satisfied too. He is a very honest person.

I had an accident in my 2011 Toyota Camry. The insurance company wanted to total my car. I took it to Fred for an estimate, in hopes that he could repair it. He was able to repair the damage for 1/3 of the cost that the insurance company was going to pay out. I was thankful for Fred. I had my car repaired, it looked like new and I avoided a monthly car payment.It is truly disappointing to read negative reviews about Fred, he has been repairing my cars for many years now. I have never had any issues with the work that he has done. He is honest and has a lot of knowledge. I asked him about all of the cars on his lot, he explained that the are customers cars. Many of them are sitting until the owners can come up with enough money to have the work completed. He not only helped me out, but also other customers as well.I went to Thunderbird auto for a second opinion on my BMW. Fred was very honest. He let me know what I needed to have repaired right away and what I could wait on. He saved me $300.00. My vehicle was repaired in 1 day. I would definitely go back and recommend him to others.

I received a quote of $750 from the BMW dealer for a radiator to be installed on my car. I took my car to Fred for a price quote. The price quote was $400 for the exact same repair. Fred saved me $250 and I had my car back 1 day later. Fred is honest and accommodating, I will definitely go back for future repairs.

This is the most unprofessional mechanic shop I have ever been to in my life. Fred has absolutely no clue what customer service is. He says he will call you back and he never does. He will not actually work on your vehicle unless you come to his shop and sit right in front of him. He has had my vehicle for 2 weeks and every day he says he is figuring out what is wrong and will call me back and he never calls back. Finally he says the car is ready and I drive all the way to his shop and then he says its actually not running and he will work on it now. This is not the first time he has done this to me and he has also done it to other people I know. His shop looks like a total circus, there is no organization whatsoever. Last year he made me waste $500 on another vehicle that came back not working. As I am sitting here now writing this review waiting for him to fix my vehicle people are calling and coming in complaining that there car is not running properly after he supposedly repaired them. I have no idea where this guy went to mechanic school but this is for sure the last time I ever return here. I think a monkey would do a better job than him

Have been going here for years, Fred is very honest and reasonably priced. Only downside is that sometimes it takes longer than he expects to get the work done given people constantly keep coming to his shop without appointments and he keeps helping me matter how small the job is just because hes a nice guy.

I was referred to Fred after I had received a dealer quote of $2000 to fix my Chrysler. It turned out that my car didnt need everything that the dealer said it did, Fred saved me $1000.Fred is professional and offers great prices...

Where to start? Ive been going to Fred since a neighbor recommended him in 1997. Every car Ive owned from minivan to Cadillac has been through his shop. Now that my sons are adults with their own vehicles, they go there as well. It was a rite of passage - Okay, its time to introduce you to Fred. When my youngest all but totaled his little POS, he took it right to Thunderbird! Ive never, NEVER been unhappy because of something hes done.You can always count on Fred to be honest and give you the real skinny. I trust him implicitly. If you are one of those who always get a written estimate, make an appointment and demand complimentary gourmet coffee, this is NOT your shop. But if you appreciate this dying breed of honesty in auto repair, Thunderbird is the place for you.

I went to the shop to get the engine swap I paid five grand to get the engine swap done my car never got a new engine swap the owner of the shop lied about it and didnt even inform me and said that he only ordered a piston so I just wanted to know where the $5000 I put up for the engine swap went to?. So I will never take my car here again and there will be some reprimanded for the situation.

Fred is honest, extremely professional, has no time to waste, always be glad to know of such a descent, correct, astute gentleman to go back to with ease of heart.

This shop is very unprofessional. They take money from customers and don’t do quality work and if something goes wrong because of their work they end up keeping your car forever and don’t fix it. Car ends up becoming a brick. Don’t use this shop. Especially if you want quality.

Usually work with company, never had any problems until now. Took my car into shop to get serviced and my car sat on the lot for about 5 days. I called numerous times to check status and was told i needed more work done each time. Each time i was told this i asked for them to do WHATEVER work was needed. I work up the street from the shop so after day number 3 i stopped by on my break to check on vehicle. It was blocked in by several other vehicles. After day 6 i put a bit of urgency in my demand for my car back. Strictly because ive been paying for a rental car the entire time. I set up a time to pick up my vehicle. When i got to the shop my car was in the same spot it was in when i checked on it 3 days ago. The mechanic/owner told mt not to pay him until i drove car, just to see if what was wrong was fixed. I drove vehicle and it disabled. After having another mechanic look at it i was told the sensors werent installed correctly along with a numeber of other things. I would have recomened ThunderBird Auto before, now i want to make sure the world knows that this is not the company to service your car. Not only will it take a substantial amount of time to service and it may need another review from a different mechanic when service is complete.
