They do give you a grace period paying your bill as long as you call ahead.

Anyone who has read my previous reviews notes that I try to post the good and the bad and be honest. This review will be posted here and on the U-Haul customer service page.The service at this U-Haul was horrible. The tale started yesterday - 7/20 - for a trailer pickup, I had my reservation made on 7/6, they asked me to to pick it up a day earlier, 7/21, when my pickup date was 7/22. Fine, no problem, happy to get it loaded a day earlier, but it was not to be.I showed up on time, and Ricardo was helping me, he was great. He tried to correct the situation. Basically, the wrong trailer was there, no motorcycle chock which meant my bike would be up against the frame, not the best idea, nor what I had reserved.So Ricardo tried to help, he called traffic/scheduling who said they would contact the villa park - well villa park said they did not know - then said villa park did not have it. At this point she said the the reservation would be shifted to Arlington heights and be a round trip one. Okay fine, I say I need about 6 days, I mean I wouldnt even be leaving til Friday. Well we ask for verification and she hangs up on him. So he tries to call the arlington heights location who says that they will not give the trailer, because it is to long a time.So at this point it is pretty much throw in the towel time for Ricardo. He calls scheduling and says they will call me back. I say okay but I want a copy of my reservation/documentation. He says that he is not sure how to print that out and asks his supervisor - Anthony - who says they cannot do this, at one point saying that the computer is not hooked up to a printer??? Not true as you can see documents printed on the wall behind him.Well I have never actually recorded an interaction, but at this point I go ahead and take out my phone and let him know I am recording. His first attitude is to repeat what he said before - great thank you for confirming on the record - and then starts to back peddle. Pretty much throwing up his hands, until finally he calls scheduling who schedule me to Palatine. But yet again, no one provides a confirmation. I ask Anthony to call Palatine and I am told that he did and no one answers. He says he called multiple times and no one answers. The kicker - the reservation is for 15 minutes and I have to drive there now. I get to palatine and here the manager is actually helpful and things are taken care of.I can go more into detail on Anthonys behavior and customer service approach, but here are the quick notes - dismissive, not helpful, no care or attempt to actually resolve a mistake on the companys part and not mine, and no resolution.I also had a 52 minute wait on the corporate number - with the first rep saying you were never guaranteed and then the manager saying, yes you were and we are sorry about that.Long story short, go to Palatine, do not use rolling meadows and if you do, try to work with Ricardo, definitely not Anthony. And the for the record, not only is everything true in this, if your customer service teams send me an email asking for more info. I also have about 30+ minutes of video footage, all consented to and known prior.
I had a bad experience coming here. Things weren’t explained properly and the boys were rude HOWEVER Daisy was a HUGE HELP explained things fully, grabbed the truck for us. And had great energy! #superwoman
Would be nice to have customer service. The two who were working today (6/6/2021) barely looked up from their phones, and the girl was using her phone while checking me out. Didnt check to make sure that we had the right boxes or take more than we paid for.Had zero help from these two. Was trying to ask about dish packs and they were clueless, saying that the box was in a place where they were actually out of stock.If I could give negative stars I would.
- Book a truck 3 weeks in advance, with zero indication that availability may be limited- Try to call 3 days ahead of time to check on availability of a larger truck, get hung up on twice- Get a call from the location less than 24 hours before the rental is to start telling you they have no trucks available in the size you ordered (or anything larger) and there is nothing they can do- Get advised by the location that it is now up to YOU to call Uhaul customer service and try to find another truck somewhere, on a Saturday of one of the busiest weekends of the yearIf all of this sounds appealing, then U-Haul of Woodfield is the place for you! For normal folks, avoid this place at all costs.
My sister and I received great service from Anthony during the Pandemic! He went above and beyond, even though we rented our truck in Minneapolis.

Needing a small trailer for a one-way haul I find there are NONE in the regional area. While one was physically present it is for local only and not one-way. Never heard of such a thing; if a store rents out all their stock for one-ways, simply bring in others from other stores. Silly rule! Long story short, I dont get a trailer for my needs. As a former UHaul dealer (30+ years ago) this is not the company I knew and respected. Cmon UHaul, you can do better!

Very disappointed with their customer service. We returned a truck after moving and we lost a set keys, we called twice and revisited the location after the drop off. We were assured each time the truck was checked and that there were no keys. A location two states away contacted us that they found our keys and were helpful in getting the property back. It seems that we were lied to and that the truck was never really checked... disappointed that this happened.
Great service. People there explain everything to make sure there is no hidden fees. They are also very efficient on processing documents and get the truck ready.
Had to get a last minute trailer to take home some furniture we bought from the IKEA down the road. William was super nice and very helpful in getting us what we needed to get our belongings back home. I dont think Ive ever had a transaction go so smoothly. I would highly recommend Williams store and will definitely be back for future moving needs!
Only 1 employee on a Sunday? Literally this guy is by himself! The phones are ringing and the lobby has a line of people but this agent has to do the job alone. Unacceptable corporate behavior. Hire more help. Seriously! Your hours of operation are shortened and I’ve been standing waiting over an hour since opening.
Went there for a storage unit. It took over 30 minutes to do the paperwork and we had to call our insurance company to prove that we had insurance for the unit. A tiny little unit. They want to sell you insurance for the unit. Believe me its not good insurance.There was man that came in and rented a truck and he left way before theyre even done with our paperwork.Got the instructions and the keys to go to the unit. I get halfway there and Im mad. It just happened to be the farthest unit from the elevator. The reason I got mad I was passing up ton of vacant units. They were just outside the elevator with tags on them saying theyre vacant. Looking forward to leave ASAP.

The rental experience was great! The option to do the pick up and return of the vehicle through the phone was outstanding! Didnt have to wait in line.

I just popped in to get some moving boxes and was blown away by the excellence of their customer service. The boxes and supplies are much cheaper than Home Depot or Lowes, and they offer to buy back any unused materials. They even helped me carry out the boxes and load them in my car.
Ive only ever used u haul once before, and never had to deal with the staff before, and it was a very great experience. I was taken care of by the general manager William, and he was one of the friendliest employees Ive ever dealt in any service job! I would totally come back to this specific location just because of how well treated I was! Thank you Uhaul of woodfield for making my moving experience so much better! Keep up the great job!
From the very beginning my experience at this uhaul location was pleasant. The general manager William Bonilla greeted us at the door. William was very warm and answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations for our move across town. Definitely gonna be going back and recommending this location to any one that has to move anytime soon.

We had a great experience renting from UHaul. The employees were so helpful in getting us our trailer rental even though we had problems with the wrong size hitch on our van. They went above and beyond!
We had issues making the reservation for the truck where we were given false information, if that had been the only issue fine, but no we had issues picking it up where there system messed up and kept trying to run my card, and it took 45 minutes to finally get the truck, and finally we had issues dropping the truck off where the online system didnt work and we called the help number and were put on hold and never reached someone, finally got the system to work but it also took longer than it should have, overall I do NOT plan on using uhaul again
