Ive been in the Automotive business for 25 years. Ive had dealings with many repair shops. Lakeview is not like most others. They are honest, trustworthy, friendly, and fairly priced. It is one of the very few shops that I have known where I can trust what they say and that the repairs will be done correctly, the 1st time.I am very fortunate to know and live near a repair shop that I can trust my car to.

Listen, I’m not a fan of these online reviews as everyone’s experience is different AND there is always 2 sometimes 3 sides to every story. However, I must just say this- I merely CALLED Lakeview Car Care in Ronkonkoma to price out recommended work from a “Navis Wires” shop. What I received in return has made me a future customer due to his honesty and time taken to explain in detail what was happening. This man asked me several questions about the reason for my inquiring about the recommended services. After explaining in detail how I came to the conclusion that the services were “needed” the man who took my call carefully and COMPLETELY in layman’s terms told me why I in fact don’t necessarily need what was recommended AT THIS TIME as opposed to trying to sell me on something I don’t immediately need. THIS is the type of customer service we all seek and HONESTY we all deserve when choosing to get AUTOMOTIVE care especially from a auto repair shop. So if you are in need of auto repair- I would definitely recommend Lakview!

This team and shop treats you like a real person instead of just a sale. They are very kind and knowledgeable, and aren’t going to push you into something that isn’t needed. I’m not very knowledge with cars and Dave took the time to help me understand why a repair needed to be done and told me honestly what he thought needed to be done and what could hold off. As a woman, I don’t feel taken advantage of and would absolutely recommend this shop to family and friends!

Customer care is out of this world. I live down the street from lake view and have went to them for many of my car issues. Very professional, don’t try to scam you or pressure you into getting unnecessary service done.Today, my car battery decided to give out on me. Called lake view to see if they can help me figure out what’s wrong with it. A team member showed up in 5 minutes and jump started my car. Restored me faith in humanity! Thank you lake view! I went to this shop for the first time 3 weeks ago for an inspection. When I went to pick up my car I was told I needed brakes. I asked how much the brake job would be and was told approximately $300 for your car. I told them I didn’t have time that day but would be back in.a few weeks. I dropped the car off this morning and got the call from come back and pick up a few hours later. When I went to pay- I was told that it would be $679! . I was shocked. I said I was told approx $300??? He informed me that you need front and back. I said well 3 weeks ago you told me the job would be $300- so the job changed in 3 weeks?!? He was like well I called and the man that answered the phone approved the job. I said you didn’t even call the number I left you? You called my ex?(when I called him- He said they didnt ask for approval they just said the car was ready)I called the owner Fred later on and explained the situation. I was very upset since I did not budget for that repair he said he can’t do a brake job for $300 like I’m supposed to know what they go for. And that my service history from the inspection said I needed frontier and rear. If that was the case I should of been told approx $600 not $300. I fe el I was taken for a ride and would never recommend this company. I gave 2 stars because I’m hoping the brake job was adequate. Also- is $650 the going rate ? I’m hearing it is quite high.

Extremely professional, reasonable, honest, and always ready to help with any issue. Even when they’re very busy, the owner has found time to help me when my tire was flat or even when they’re about to close, the owner has taken the time to help me out. My family has been using lake view for quite some time now. When I was old enough to drive, I bought my first car and every maintenance needed or repair needed was through Lakeview. They are dependable, honest and professional. There were some situations where I was not able to get to them and was forced to use another mechanic, it’s never the same. Lakeview services are exceptional and they do not overcharge and won’t do wrong by anyone. Highly recommend. Hope this helps some of you...

Ive been going to Lakeview Car Care since I moved in the neighborhood in 2004. Fred is an absolute gentlemen and my family and I have always felt confident with him and his staff working on our vehicles. In addition to being a local business owner he is also very generous in giving back to the community. Every year he supports Cub Scout Pack 197 by hosting our annual car wash.

Always skeptical about visiting a new mechanic regardless of reviews. But this one lives up to it. Made a 9am appointment for inspection, in at 9 out by 9:35. Talk about unbelievable. Most places have you sitting hours. Granted my car is well maintained, but highly recommend. I look forward to all my future maintenance being done at Lakeview .

This place is excellent ! After a false diagnosis by Honda service (they told me my car was junk) I brought my car here for a second opinion. They figured out that there was a chain of event which led my car to stop working (shorted wire led to blown transmission fuse which led to malfunctioning alternator and a dead battery ). One hour and a small bill later my car was running like butter. Very professional, kind, speedy service, highly recommend them !

This was my first time at Lakeview Car Care, and it was wonderful. Even though there was a mutual miscommunication about my appointment timing, Fred helped me right away. They took care of my tires in 15 mins and wished me a happy holiday. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone!!

I had a negative review up for this company and sometimes you have to admit when you are wrong. I was upset about the way an expensive repair went, but I let my emotions get the best of me and wrote a review before allowing them to show their character and make good on everything. Let’s start with Dave the Manager of this shop. Class act, knows customer service. He understand that we don’t want to hear all the technical Mumbo jumbo, just get to the point and be understanding of what the customer is going through and what needs to be done to resolve it. He calls up to check in and make sure everything is ok with your vehicle. Freddy the owner knows the insides and out sides and everything in between on cars. He is a stand up guy who owned what happened and went above and beyond to make this right for me. At times Freddy May come off a little rough around the edges with the customer service end of it lol, but that’s why he has Dave. When I finally had a chance to sit and talk with him and see what he is all about; he earned my respect. Just know Freddy wants all of his customers to be happy and understands we wont always be, but he will do whatever it takes within reason to make sure you leave his shop happy. I highly recommend them! Again....take it from me, If by chance something goes wrong at first, don’t let your emotions get the best of you. They will make it right. Ive used Lakeview Car Care a number of times for different cars and Ive always been impressed by the service, the staff, the workmanship, and the price. Ive gone to them for general maintenance and even had cars towed to them- I wouldnt use anyone else. Great crew, very friendly and very honest!

My inspection was due and this place is local, so I gave them a call and asked if they could take me in. The nice woman on the phone told me that I would have to drop it off (it was 2pm on a Friday) if I wanted it done that day or I could bring it in between 8am and 10am the following morning if I wanted to wait for it.So I decided to go in the next morning and got there at 8:45am. A half hour later I was paid up and driving it away. While I was waiting, the owner was explaining a problem a customer had with her truck. You could tell he was very knowledgeable and made sure she understood everything he was telling her. Quick, friendly service. You cant ask for much more than that.

This place is amazing- let me start off by saying how I found this business. I recently had brand new tires installed on my 22” rims, they (another shop) balanced my rims and shortly after driving off my steering wheel started to shake at 60mph. I went back and was told my rim is bent and could not be balanced, not sure why I wasn’t told this in the first place. I decided to leave as opposed to arguing back m forth about lies. I did some research and came across a website of users experiencing the same issues I had and Lakeview car care was highly recommended for having a machine called the Road Force balancing machine by Hunter engineering. From what I read- this was the go to place if you experience shakes in the steering wheel caused by unbalanced rims/tires.I decided to drop my truck off 7-29-19, the guy “hate myself for not remembering his name” was really kool and told me to leave my truck for a bit, then gave me some information about their machine, how it works, different scenarios depending on how badly the balance is off etc.... in approx 2hrs I got a call my truck was ready and a text message stating my truck was ready. Awesome service in case your in a meeting and missed a call. Upon arrival they could have just taken my money with me leaving, instead he told me to sit down and fully explained what he did for me. Honestly, I was just shocked he took the time to teach me about my vehicle and about their balancing service. It wasn’t a long boring experience, I was made aware of the type of service I should expect of a business that is good. Sometimes we settle for less when we really shouldn’t settle for less.He invited me inside the shop and showed me how they balance, showed me the machine that I heard so much about on that website. The screen and logistics was amazing. As I paid my bill, the mechanic told me to call him and let him know how my ride was.As I waited for my card to be charged, I over heard him on the phone with another customer who thought his brakes were bad, the mechanic was honest and told him: “listen, honestly there is nothing wrong with your brakes, you got a lot of life left in them nothing is wrong”. Imagine that?? He could have just said yea your brakes are bad bring it in and made some money off someone who wasn’t aware. I liked that honesty. I will now make this my go to place for repairs. Nice small shop that is A1 sauce (slang for excellence, on point, perfection lol) I wanted to share my experience so others in my same situation know and have confidence that there are still honest great shops out there that care! A++++

Comment: Just WOW!! Im a busy guy, hence the delay in this post at 3:45 in the morning. I, like many of you, was tired of getting taken advantage of when it comes to car care. About 2 weeks ago I reviewed comments on YELP for a new car place for my 08 Jeep. This place had some great reviews so I decided to give it a shot. On a SATURDAY, I was the first person to arrive at the shop. Walked in with no appointment and an overheating problem going on with the jeep. The car was in the back in short order. So, long story short... Water pump, belt, brakes and rotors, oil change and inspection (all shown and explained to me underneath the car). First: Most honest people I have encountered when dealing with automotive issues. Second: On one of their most busy days, they took a guy out of rotation to work on my jeep all day! (unheard of). Third: Im sure if I would have went to my old place I would have paid multiple of Thousands of dollars!!!! Not here. Totally reasonable. Fourth: I cant ensure the same experience, but just so I didnt have to wait at the shop all day they gave me a ride home and offered to come get me when the car was completed. I will not go anywhere else now, this is my place. Highly, highly recommend. If allowed I would give more than 5 stars. -Dr. D

We have been going to Lakeview care care for quite some time now. My sister also goes to Lakeview. Fred is honest as well as reasonable. We totally trust him when we bring our car to him. Recently he did a brake job and then I was hearing a noise, he took the car in 3 times until all the noises were gone.It had nothing to do with the brake job, just an aging car.There was a time when we were bringing my car in and my husband said we needed a coolant flush but they told us it was not due yet we just had one a while ago. Now where can you go and they would tell you that ? I highly recommend anyone bring their care to Fred it they want an honest mechanic. Thank you to Fred and his staff.

Vehicle: 2017 jeep wrangler unlimitedBackstory: i previously had wheels and tires mounted/balanced by another show. 33s with 17inch steel wheels. Was experiencing concerning steering wheel and vehicle vibration at all speeds and upon further research determined a road force balance would hopefully resolve the error. I reviewed local shops (all over long island) who have a road force balance machine and came across lakeview car care which had great reviews.First impression: i called rather short notice and spoke to a gentleman(i strongly emphasize gentleman) named Fred. I explained my issues and that i would like to try the roadforce balance. Sure he could have just told me to come in and welcome my business, but he took about 5-10 minutes explaining to me that it might not work and how the machine operates and the results might vary. I still proceeded to take the chance.Upon arrival: again although very short notice this shop was able to accomodate me rather quickly. Within 5 minutes they had taken my vehicle in and began to proceed. During that process and while it was being done Fred took the time to sit with me and began to explain how the machine works and all of the benefits of it in a very articulate way and made sure i knew EXACTLY what was being done which he absolutely did not need to do given then shop was fairly busy at the time. The young lady behind the desk was extremely friendly and took all of my personal information right away.At the end: vehicle was repaired. Fred advised the gentleman who worked on the vehicle would take it on a road test to assure that the errors were resolved and again took the time to show me what the error was previously and how it was corrected. I had driven over an hour to come to this shop due to what i have read about it and i do not regret it at all. It was a long ride home but the ride was back to normal and as smooth as ever.Closing statements: this is by far the best auto repair shop i have ever been to in all aspects. Customer service is the heart of every business and they definitely exceeded all expectations. Ive had my brakes and oil done twice at Lakeview. Im not one to give reviews, but after the experiences Ive had at Lakeview, you would be foolish to take your car or truck anywhere else. One of the biggest fears with not being mechanically inclined is worrying about being ripped off, but Fred, the owner, is a man of honesty and integrity who values his work and reputation. A true professional establishment.
