The Manager was polite. But I was told that my back brakes on my 05 VW BUG were metal on metal. $200 + to fix. Now I went in originally, for their $24.95 Oil change, ALL fluids filled, and tires rotated on request. Now, my late husband taught me WELL! I was out of washer fluid. I also had bird droppings on my windshield. This was a test regarding topping off fluids. HE was my mechanic! After I received my paperwork I left a little worried, as I have NEVER heard metal grinding, NO squeaking. I remember .... Yay! I can wash that 🐦 dropping! Haha! There is NO FLUID! Really now. There IS more! I happened to notice left rear VW hub cap is not level. Well, I can certainly tap it in! The cap fell at my FEET! I was so GREATFUL that I hadnt gotten on the freeway, where this could have become an awful FLYING METAL DISC! If anyone had been hurt, (I thank God that this DID NOT happen), I would be bearing responsibility!! I still have my hubcap in back seat. At least I know it cant hurt anyone😒. So, whether you use a coupon or NOT, ALWAYS be careful! Thanks for being honest! Respectfully, VW BUG UP MY BUTT!

Came in on 10/9/2020 and only decided to use this business because I got a coupon in the newspaper and was in need of an oil change to begin with... I regret this immensely now...In the coupon and normal service listing the price was a deal considering you were supposed to get an oil change, tire pressure check/fill, tire rotation, and a few other things in this bundle deal. I had called in and a woman on the phone was able to pencil me in for 11am, I arrived at 10:50am. I didnt get out of there all together though until about 1pm. Mind you they were not busy at all, and I did have an appointment. They changed my oil, did the tire check/fill and explained to me that they couldnt do a tire rotation due to my tire tread being too worn down. Okay.. also their were other things they couldnt do as well. Upon trying to pay for the service the same woman from earlier attempted to upsell/get me to get other not as important things done or fixed which would of costed more, & I understand that theyre running a business & may have been trying to help but I had came for what I came for in the end/ I wasnt sure if I trusted them with doing any more. As she continued I continued to try to explain that I just most importantly needed the things listed on the service deal & being they werent my normal car servicers to begin with, just wanted to give them a first try & see how their customer service & quality of work was. alot of things werent able to be done in their words. I still paid & continued on with my life after such a long wait, & kind of uncomfortable interactions with the lady.The next day though, my car started sounding louder and more rumble like than usual, & I realized on both my paperwork & the oil change sticker they put on my car said 5w-30. My car takes 5w-20. I called in to their elk Grove location & a guy this time over the phone apologized for the inconveniences & mentioned although they may be busy that he would call over to Northgate & talk to someone about fitting me in again, which he did so I ended up coming back today (10/10/2020) to the Northgate location. A guy by the name of Justin (who I think is the store manager also), greeted me, & told me that they did in fact put 5w-20 oil in... I explained the car issues/new sounds & then he responded with well it sounded like that when we got it so... I was kind of taken back for a sec, not only did they not tell me that when I first came in the day before & didnt diagnose where the sound may have been coming from but good customer servicers just kind of help you & apologize & continue on to make things easier on both ends but that didnt happen in this interaction. He seemed extremely irritated that I was back & said that even the guy who put the oil in yesterday has the same car as me, & that he knows what hes doing. Let me mention that I never asked any of that or said people didnt know what they were doing, just for my peace of mind I was hoping/sorta begging that maybe they could just change the oil again for me & make sure that if they are using 5w-20 I can see for myself and get the right paperwork/stickers... Told me it would be about another hour and half wait. I waited & they changed the oil, but told me the sound was coming from the alternator now... But glad I got that correct oil now.Thanks guys. 🙃

If youre looking for great customer service in the dph area of Sacramento Brake Masters on Northgate is wonderful and theyre competent check to see if Kenny is there. Kenny is an awesome store manager listens to the customers the safety checks on your vehicle offer suggestions in terms of what needs to be done immediately and what you can wait for tells you to look out for your coupons and download the app and really make sure that your vehicle is safe not just for you but for you and your family. Ive driven from the Bay Area to Sacramento just for my car to be serviced from Kenny and my parents drive from the bay area as well as my siblings who lived throughout Sacramento in the Bay Area we really enjoy the the customer service we enjoyed Kennys honesty with us about our vehicles and what we need to do to maintain safe vehicles at all times Kenny and his team at Northgate are absolutely wonderful. Hes also located at the Elk Grove store and Ive known him to work at the Auburn store so call ahead see if Kenny is there youll be guaranteed good and honest service.

I thought it needed both back and front for the honda civic. Kenny let me know that only the fronts needs brakes. truth worthy. he also stayed later after closing to make sure I got my car finished and I was out of there.if you need brakes this is the place to go. truth worthy, honest, fast, and good work. thank you Kenny again for making my car safe again. you rock.

Ill never used Brake Masters again. Ive use this location in the past several times for service and the only thing that I would complain about is the long wait time. But recently I brought my Cadillac for service and as I was siting in the waiting room I look out to see that my car had been crashed into by another vehicle driven by their technician who was inexperience with the vehicle he was backing out. It caused extensive damage and my caddy was eventually totaled. It was so stressful especially dealing with their insurance carrier Nationwide and having to look for another car. Accidents can happen but this was caused by a lack of experience.

Although I never got my auto representatives name in the beginning, I appreciated the transparency and feedback Charles provided. I didn’t feel like I was at Jiffy Lube being offered any miscellaneous a la carte items like an air filter and windshield wipers. Service time and wait was definitely under 1hr, with one customer before me arriving.The waiting space was decent and spacious and the bathroom was very convenient and well maintained for a shared area with mechanics (aka “grease monkeys.”)LolOriginally I came in for brakes and oil change and my brake inspection passed through saving me nearly $300.Looking forward to returning back to have my future brake work done by early next year with another $100 savings compared to their competitors in my neighborhood.

This shop helped me out quite a bit.Another shop resealed my transmission and then my ABS light was on. They tried to deny fault.Brake Masters diagnosed the problem quickly(wheel speed sensor), fixed it for a very reasonable price, and were kind enough to give me an idea of how it may have happened.Mike, who provided excellent and courteous service, documented their findings.I went back to the transmission shop with confidence. They tested to verify and were forced to reimburse me for the cost of the repair.I couldnt be happier.I also found out that they perform nearly every other automotive repairs, so I will be returning to Brake Masters for future services.P.S. Their waiting area is large, clean, and the air conditioning provided a great escape from a very hot day.

Need to hire front desk staff so the mechanics can do mechanic work, I spent my whole day waiting on a brake inspection and brakes. I was told I would get a free oil change but that didnt happen. Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is some of the workers were nice eye candy to look at all day. Hire people so you provide timely customer service.

I took my truck in for a brake job. I was sure I needed them now. To my suprise my brakes were okay. I did have a separation in one of my front tires that was the problem. All I needed to do is take it back to the place that I purchased them and use my warranty.Kenny at the front desk who I spoke with on the phone prior to coming in is a super cool guy. He gave me a quote over the phone and gave me the best customer service. This is rare in the mechanics world. When I asked him for my bill? He said that I had no payment. Brake inspections were free. I am a happy customer and I will definitely be taking my services there in the future.

This place is a joke!!!! You make an appt to get your brakes checked and it’s not honored! We sat there for an hour and 20 minutes, then Greg says oh I’m sorry we have no bays to pull your car into, I don’t know how long of a wait it will be! What’s the point of an appt if they can’t honor it! In a last stitch effort to keeps us from leaving he says I’ll give you a free oil change! I’m like no thanks! I made an appointment at the Northgate location and arrived 10mins before to do paperwork. We sat for an hour and the car still wasnt taken back to have the oil change so we asked why it was taking so long when we had an appointment. We were told the appointment time was for them but that they had a ton of appointments which tells me that they over booked and that just becthe appointment time was for 11am it didnt mean the car would be taken in at that time. We preceded to ask how much longer we would have to wait and he said at least another hour. I think 2 plus hours for a simple oil change is ridiculous.

Quality service was excellent, however they didnt want to replace just one upper control arm bushings, they wanted to replace both as a set including the control arms which was over $600 dollars worth of work when they couldve just replaced the driver side instead, i have now found shop that wouldve done what i asked for to begin with, and theyre much reasonable on their prices than Brake masters .

Went in for a noise that happened every time I stepped on the brakes, I knew it was coming from the rear of the car,so I assumed I needed rear brakes ! Took it into Brakemasters and saw Tony, the counter guy, and he said theyd check it out.Left and called about 2 hours later and he said it was ready to be picked up !He said that the brakes where fine and just the left rear brake was out of adjustment, and they adjusted it for me, and then to top it off,he said there would be no charge !!Took it, and now no noise,Wow !! Ill be back for other services soon at this shop !

I had some friends who went here and had their Rack and pinion replaced on their 2007 Honda CR-V and 2 years later they are telling them that they need to replace it again. About six months after they had it replaced they brought it back because something was not done correctly. This was told to them when they took it into the dealer for some work. How is that possible? Brakemasters said that the parts are only guaranteed for one year...I understand the warranty but there is no way that should have to be replaced that soon unless something was done to the vehicle, which nothing was done it. Either the parts were defective or it was not done right in the first place. I would think that Brakemasters would work with the customer on this and get it resolved. I will not be taking my vehicle to them for any work if that is how they treat their customers.

I couldnt recommend this place more. We had an appointment, and they took us in early and got the work done in a timely manner. We asked for them to check our alignment, but since our tires were wearing unevenly, they declined since it would be pointless, saving us money. This place was a complete nightmare from the moment we drove in. Took my daughter here to get her breaks checked this weekend, as were driving in we were greeted by an associate who was directing traffic and pointed were he wanted us to park. As my daughter pulls in and parked where she was directed to a man comes out yelling at her and tells her to get her freaking car out of here. We were confused and told him we were just told to park here he continued to yell at the top of his voice and begins to yell at the other men. Come to find out this man is the manager! Completely out of line, unprofessional and out of character for anyone to act towards a customer. First time customer at that. We left and will never come back. Corporate will be hearing of this. Save your money and your sanity do not go here this place is a joke.

Always take my car here for oil changes, and they have a great deal and get the job done right. They are quite busy, but so are many of the area shops. I dropped my car off on a Saturday afternoon, and picked it up at the end of the day. About half the price of competitors for small fixes/maintenance.

Usually use location in Orangevale, CA they always take care of me. I came in to this location with a severe vibration on acceleration. The shop manager quoted me 500$ for brakes and rotors when the issue was missing bolts in my drive shaft. He proceeded to quote me for brakes and rotors without addressing my real worry which was those bolts missing/loose. When I told him I didnt have the 500$ he threw a fit, refused to tighten up even the loose bolts that were still attached to the drive shaft claiming some loophole liability with the Bar (which is kind of true, either way sending me home in a death trap isnt a great look either). Also in explaining another repair he was WRONG again regarding a pressed hub and bearing. Did all the work myself (No press you lying, manipulative joke of a manager) and it cost me 75$ vs the 500+ I have on his quote sheet. First and last time, my whole car club used to come to Brake Masters but not anymore. :) Thank you to everyone other than the shop manager with the missing teeth as you guys somehow gave me a little faith in this company before I left.

They left a bolt out of my caliper bracket. Meineke told me this caused premature wear.This is negligence. Brian was really courteous and helpful. However that doesnt excuse their poor scheduling and their ridiculous wait time. Walk in customers have to wait 3 hours for a simple 30 minute oil change. I had a 1 o clock APPOINTMENT for an oil chance and did not have my car pulled in for service until 230. Forcing me to return from my hour lunch break late. They really need to work on reducing customer wait time. Because this is the last time that i will be going to any brake masters...ESPECIALLY this one!P.S- They can quote you a really cheap price on tire alignment...but cannot provide the service itself at this locationHaha this place is beyond unproffesional!

124 on the phone for brakes means 333 when you get there. 1 hour wait time means 4 hours. Canceled my brake service after 4 hours of waiting, 3 of wich were stairing at my car on the lift back tires off drums off 5 minutes of work remaining, absolutely could not wait any more. Had to tell them to immediately put my car back together i have to go. Management just shrugged said ok, and had my car back together in 5 minutes. Offered no explanation no apologies, could have cared less they were over 3 hours late as 4 employees sat smoking doing nothing for the 4 hours i was there and these employees touched 0 cars as one trainee at best tried to figure stuff out?So he said they did an oil change so i paid the 44.99. I havent looked at the oil yet, but 100 percent my oil filter was not changed, i looked, its my same fram with the grip on top.Wow, pretty crooked place

First of all, Kenny the manager, could use some brush up on professionalism and attentiveness as a manager. When I first came into the shop, they asked me to fill out some paperworks, on which I put my name: JASON. When Kenny first approached the counter to greet me as mam- to which I found VERY offensive and unprofessional of him. I dont know what made him think I am a lady. Regardless, if you are not sure of someones gender, you need to be very professional and addressing them in the most general way possible, dont you think?Then, AFTER I filled out the paperworks, Kenny the Manager continued his rude, unprofessional manners in addressing me by the wrong gender thoughout the transaction, AND what made it worse was that he had the paperworks there in front of him, but never ONCE glanced to see what name was written on it.A second thing was that, to those who think the world of this place, I dont know if you were lucky or what but BRAKE MASTERS a total SCAMMER and very untrustworthy place to take your car to. I went there for a coolant exchange and was quoted for $60. After making me wait for almost an hour, Kenny the Manager informed me that theres a leak in my reservoir. He then made me wait another 30 min. while he quotes some price. He came back with an estimate of nearly $300- just to get my coolant system flushed(!!) His demeanor was pushy, very much shady in the way he threatened if I didnt consider changing the reservoir, which Kenny claimed to be straight from the dealer, it could be costly as the applied pressure could burst the reservoir. Wow, Kenny! That sounded scary huh. You must have practiced this over and over again with your other unsuspecting victims (especially the ladies, or people YOU think are women) to get this good! I knew something wasnt right so I called my mechanic friend who told me that quote did not sound right. He then suggested I took the car out of there and bring it to his place for a thorough examination of the leaky reservoir...Just as I thought, Kenny the oh-so professional manager missed out on his mind game. There was NO leak in that reservoir and to this day, my coolant system runs just fine. I will bring it to a more trustworthy, professional place to get that flush done.And as for you, Kenny- if you are reading this review, I am the owner of that white Ford Focus. Remember? That lady you thought you could pull some underhanded BS on? I dont know how you got to be the manager at that place but with the kind of reputation I read on some of these reviews online, BRAKE MASTERS is just that: MASTERS of SCAMS!
