This is an amazingly fun book store, there events are really enjoyable and the staff/owners are very pleasant and knowledgeable. They have a great selection of games and books too.

I love to visit local bookstores on vacation, and this one was a treat! While it has a relatively small footprint, they make good use of the space and have it quite full of not only an interesting selection of books (including local authors/local interest), but also a fair amount of board games and puzzles, too. The staff were very friendly and helpful; I witnessed them helping many customers pre-order books or even try to find books at other local stores if they werent in-stock at Capital. Also, we got to visit the cute kitten napping in the office :)

Cute little bookstore, although a bit expensive. But its what you would expect from a small business. Youre paying for the experience as well I suppose. They had a good selection and the upstairs is cute too. The place was a bit hard to find though.

Everything to love about a local books store! Good selection, beautiful setting and friendly staff.The lovely window display of Spring picture books caught my eye. There was lots to browse and I bought two books as gifts which Heidi wrapped to perfection!Had a nice chat and even got a lunch recommendation.So glad I stopped in, totally made my morning in Sacramento!

This is a really awesome book shop but bring your cash bc the books come at premium prices. They specialize in fantasy adventure books and manga, but have a bit of everything. They also got popular board and card games, CCG cards, and other geek merchandise. They carry special editions, slipcovers, boxed sets, and more. This is the perfect bookstore to shop at for the need or geek in you or your family!

I suppose its conveniently located. While the bulk of the products are downstairs, including games & childrens books, theres a good 25% more books up the stairs. Not particularly wheelchair-friendly, and even the downstairs portion is a bit of a tight squeeze.

The owner (or whom I assume was the owner) Ross came and talked with me and my wife. He offered advice about fun places to visit in the town, and even gave his email so we could ask about more. The book shop was contemporary and on the nerdy side. Im looking forward to going again.

This multi-level bookstore is owned and run by the same man who owned and ran the legendary Comics & Comix. In keeping with those roots, this store boasts a two vast sci-fi/ fantasy sections and two games sections (board, card, & tabletop), on the ground floor and upstairs. They recently acquired the closed-down Capital Comics Café, which they will be turning into a gaming venue, with rental board games, food, and adult beverages - and I, for one, cannot wait!

New bookstore in downtown Sacramento next to the theater. Its a very comfortable visit with a kind and helpful owner. A relatively small store so the selection isnt as large as most but a great bookstore nonetheless. I purchased Homo Deus by Harari here to take home with me. I also bought a homeless woman a book. FYI there are a good amount of homeless people in the city and particularly in downtown.

I made an online order to send some books to my mom as a gift. Ross got back to me about the price and expected arrival dates for the books, and kept me updated about when the books would be shipped. It was nice to correspond with an actual person, and I was really happy to support a bookstore in my hometown. My mom is enjoying the books. Great local bookstore with an amazing selection of books!

Capital Books has a great selection of books in store and through their website and its really easy to order online and pick up at the store or with curbside pickup. The location isnt usually super busy and all of the employees are very friendly.I always make sure to check here first for books! Support your local book store!

This is a fantastic local bookstore with a very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Theyll order anything you want, and they even offer delivery service. I never take them up on that though because I love browsing their collection (new, not used books). Theyre doing an excellent job monitoring the number of people inside during COVID and making sure everyone has masks so I feel safe shopping there. No more Amazon for me. Shop local!

Friendly folks. They can order stuff for you if they don’t have it, it shows up pretty quick, and will even deliver it to you if you live close enough.

Cant wait for our next visit to browse longer. So nice to have a real bookstore downtown after too many years without. It is really nice with a good selection of new books and merchandise. The downtown area is really shaping up after many years looking dejected. A real bookstore is a great start. I mean, breweries and tap rooms are great but we also need intellectual nourishment.

Whaaaaaaat? A real, cool, curated brick-and-mortar BOOKSTORE in Sacramento? Yes, friends. Theyre the real deal. Not humongous (like a Barnes & Noble or something), but a great variety of books, sections, topics--carefully chosen by people who know the book biz. Great for gifts, or if you just want to pick up a good read for your own particular fancy and, you know, turn the pages as you sip your coffee, or hang out at the beach. Support this damn good local business!

This book shop has a good selection with a nice stock of new releases. The owner was super helpful when I asked about other books they could get in stock and when new books are delivered.

Nice background music as you shop but kind of tiny store and hard to spot if you want to shop there, it is close to the cathedral church.

This cute Downtown Sac bookstore is what Ive always wanted! Cozy, close to work, and a great selection for my interests: a big sci-fi/fantasy section, a lovely corner of YA, and an impressive independent graphic novel selection that even has some European comics; they even have a few signed books. The folks there are very knowledgeable about various genres and answer questions through Facebook very quickly.
