I called ahead to look for a textbook for my class at UCD. They checked their shelves and even held it for me a couple hours until I could get over there.Their semester had already started, so I didnt have to wait in line. It worked out great. There was a free 15 minute parking space available when I got there. I think I wasnt there more than 10 minutes, tops. Super nice students there too. :-)
The Sac State Bookstore is simply awesome! Tons of Sac State merchandise and gifts for students and visitors. Amazing computer and electronic choices. Great trade book area and textbook department. Being an Alumni always gives me the chance to pay a visit and it never disappoints! Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere definitely add to the joy of the building! A must visit for anyone looking for some awesome Sac State merchandise!!
These hours are not conducive to people that also work. The school is all about inclusiveness, but the work while going to school class seem to be left out of everything.(Well there is a shipping option). That would be great if I didnt wait 10 days to have the wrong lab manual shipped to me..By the layout and looks of the bookstore, they care more about selling apparel than providing a book service to students.
No occult section, what gives? friendly stagg hands and wonderfish food and stuff, but no occult ag stuff
Best place to get cloths and accessories. Best quality for the best price range.
It took two in-person trips and four phone calls (which I get placed on hold for more than 10 minutes on average) in a span of a week and a half for them to tell me that even though I placed an order for textbooks and that they arrived at the bookstore, they did not have them. At least they refunded me I guess.
The bookstore is nice and well organized. Has a lot clothing items, supplies, and some computers downstairs. Upstairs is where you pick up your books or do the buy back. I went there to sell my books back. The most frustrating thing is that they wont take back so many books. If they do take back the books then you hardly get anything for them. I would have gotten more selling my books on Amazon.
Nice people. Beautiful facility. I am not a student. Went there to maybe pick up a software engineering book. Unfortunately they now sort their books by author rather than by subject. When I went to school it was by subject so it was easy to get most of your books for your major by going to one section .
Big bookstore. Online pickups are upstairs.
Nice and organized, customer service a plus!!!
They are still not open to the public but the staff here are excellent!
Variety of things to get such as food, school items, technology. Even a Starbucks inside.
I heart Green Apple! Best The Hornet Bookstore in the city! Tons of selection to choose from... full of great deals... what more can I say, other than its a definitely place to check out if youre looking for some great recommendations or just feel like perusing for a good book!
Great selection of various things you need in college, such as notebooks, pencils, backpacks, art supplies, etc., and love that they let you rent books and bring them back at the end of the semester. Wish they were cheaper with their apparel. I understand its good quality, but having a $40 cotton crop top is a little ridiculous. I feel like I already pay enough being at the university, can I have a little slack with apparel?
I have never felt more insulted than when leaving the bookstore today. Came back downstairs 5-10 minutes after closing and we were told “You have to leave NOW, NOW. You knew we were closing.” No, I didn’t know you were closing. You simply turned the lights off on us. Please place the bookstore under new management.
Beautiful store
I absolutely love the Hornet bookstore! Everything is so neat and categorized at all times. I also had the opportunity to work in the bookstore. They are so nice and have a nice mass hiring event right before each semester begins. Upstairs is where you can pick up your online orders and search for textbooks. Downstairs is more of the gift shop and school supplies area. They always have new and stylish merchandise as well.
Pretty much a mafia hangout for the textbook racket.
Textbooks are pricey, however, if you rent books you get 15% cash back in a gift card as a reward. Its also cheaper than Amazon. At the end of the semesters students now can sell back their bought books for cash at the bookstore, but not for the same price they bought it though. In general, the store is big, organized, and clean. The staff is really nice, helpful, and do their job. First floor has a clothing section, technology section, supplies section, and books section. The second floor is dedicated to textbooks only. You can pay, rent, buy used or new textbooks as well as pick up books in store that you purchased on line. It would be very helpful if the bookstore opened as early as 7:30 a.m.
Being a new person on campus, having your school supplies in one place is amazing! Also the souvenirs are unique and Hornet-y!🙂
Its the on campus bookstore. They usually have any book you need for your classes if you are getting books last minute. They always have cheap notebooks and various office and art supplies. They arent always the cheapest but they are very convenient. They also have some sacstate themed clothes if you want a souvenir. I recommend getting notebooks here once you know which classes actually need you to have one.
It has nice things and now has back to school items. Along with pencils and sketch pads for art. They have a nice section for kids and young adults. It also has a store ao you can buy some food, along with Sac State Merchandise! Go Hornets!!
The bookstore sells all sorts of items from apple products to sac state merchandise. There is a parking structure next to it with limited parking spots outside. The university union is located directly across from its location. There is also a subway located around the corner for a quick bite with outdoor seating. There is also a Wells Fargo located inside and an atm but the service is ok at best.
Nice shop! Has a wide selection of spirit gear as well as books, school supplies, and snacks. Good layout and friendly staff.
Very nice and organized. Good deals on technology. Lots of nice merchandise. Helpful staff. Stingers up!
This is a nice bookstore. Apparel, souvenirs, gadgets, and school supplies are on the first level, the bookstore is on the second. The staff there is very helpful in finding books for the students. Ive had to shop for two semester so far and both times they have gotten to books for me and I did nothing. One time they brought me a stack of used books and I got to choose the one least marked in.
Its the official Sacramento State bookstore. You may go there to purchase textbooks, school merch or other leisure books. They also sell high-end laptops and there is a tiny bank branch in the corner of the store. Tip: Do a price comparison on things you are looking to buy at bookstore.
Not convenient hours for getting book orders during the semester.
Very large bookstore. All the textbooks are on the second floor with options to buy new or used or to rent if youd prefer that option. Some books are reasonably priced and some out a bit exorbitant but that is a problem with the textbook industry as a while, not really the bookstores fault. The floor contains everything else and they have just about anything a college student would need. Everything Ive bought from them has been top quality. Prices are a tad high but not unreasonable. If youre looking for something generic you might be better off going to another store. If youre looking for something Sac State specific, or are willing to pay a bit more for the convenience of being on campus, then this place wont disappoint.
Second day of the semester so its VERY busy, but they have a great system to manage it and the store itself is great. Kind of like a student-store-meets-barnes-and-noble.
Cheaper to buy online. Trade with other students. You can’t even get them to buy the book back half the time because the book is sold with the one use key card for HW, but since sold as a package, you cannot return just the book... and the key card is one use, so no money back :(
Such a beautiful bookstore. As a graduate I no longer need books, but enjoy the mass selection of hornet gear. For the size it is very well organized with great customer service.
It was well organized. Great place to buy your sweatshirt 😁 and sweatpants.
My alma mater, graduate Spring 2014. Good place to get your CSU Sacramento gear and stuff, than what you may see the campus store website. Good customer service. I go for books on sale and textbooks of interest.
A very mellow shopping experience. Great clearance rack from student clothing to mom and dad and grandfather and grandmother gear.Goo Hornets! Stingers up!
The store has about everything but book. But it is a great to get all your sac state swag.
Come here depending on what you need. They have nearly everything you need but some things are better bought elsewhere. Some chem or english stuff is better value here while buying books might be better elsewhere
My 1st visit there. Found everything I was looking for. Kind & helpful student clerks. I had a good experience. Would definitely go back.👍🏾👍🏾🤙🏾
Long line to pickup my item. But, the line moved quickly and employees were very nice. Very good experience.
Quick in and out, even during peak seasons. Always very well staffed and organized. They have everything and anything you might think of needing for school-- plus lots of snack options.
Huge bookstore. You can basically get everything you need here school related. They even have a mini Apple store! Expect to pay more though... prices are very high (electronics, water bottles, etc).
Everything here is organized and I had no issue finding the book that I was trying to look for. Kudos to the staffs!
Amazingly mind-boggling. Never been here before; came here on student admitted day, and I was blown out by the amount of stuff they carry. From laptops to tablets to cups, whatevers in your mind, you shall find it here. No excuses that you didnt have time or materials to complete an assignment. Alls here. There were some items on clearance, but as always, prices for pretty much everything is high. But the point is that it has variety of options, but nothing is missing that you can think of. When its crowded like yesterday, expect some delay when buying an item(s). Such a big store yet checking out machines arent in numbers. All in all, a good store to find everything youre looking for school-related.
Students were moving in today, so there were many with their families in the store buying textbooks, supplies, and apparel. To avoid the line, I decided to go in 10 minutes before closing. I located, gathered, and purchased my required textbooks without any people waiting in line. Score.
The whole building is well-lit with many neatly organized displays of items for purchase! There is plenty of room between aisles, and the staff are most helpful & kind as well (theyre also unintrusive while you shop). The first floor is the campus store area, which carries everything from laptops to try before buying (with a big selection of Macs), flash drives, Bluetooth speakers, battery packs, and other electronics to notebooks, pens, pencils, and other school supplies. They also carry a vast selection of Sacramento State apparel including pants, shirts, hats, backpacks, water bottles, etc. The prices are fair, often competing with online pricing, at least for the electronics I checked the online prices of.The second floor is the campus bookstore, where the staff are extremely helpful as well. They are always willing to aid you in finding certain books (perhaps for specific classes), and the aisles are very spacious to allow multiple people to navigate freely in the same aisle. The line in the bookstore can get ridiculously long at certain times of year (see beginning and end of semesters), but they also have a ton of staffed registers to help everybody in line being helped quickly.
On the pricey side of things, but cool fashion and gear that is spirited !
Bookstore is very nice.merchandise over priced and bookstore I fo for text book it totally disorganized. Why my assigned/required text book for my class is not on the shelf, doesnt have an ISBN number in their system and takes 10 days to get is beyond me!
Did not step inside but nothing great. Just another University book store centrally located on campus to supply students with over priced books that helps fuel the student debt crisis. After all, the pursuit of a higher education is the pursuit of a bigger paycheck.
Always rather clean/tidy, and the staff make a good effort to be friendly or assist if needed.
Tons of cool Sac State products, especially clothing!
It really bothers me nobody likes to read real books anymore I love them the feel the smell u just cant that on a note or what ever its called yes Im 63 but I dont think to me it would matter if I was any age if I could read I did my mom gave me the love of books and I passed it on to my kids and for all the kids who sit around playing video games I bet if u just got out rode ur bike or skateboard for awhile it would change the way u see stuff ne way good luck in life because when
Great place to get books and the end of semester sale. And always have everything in stock.
This was the largest school bookstore Ive been in. Great selection of merchandise in addition to the text books. Everything moves at a very leisurely pace, though, so plan accordingly.
I could shop here all day. Awesome store.
Overpriced products and horrible return policy. If you open the packaging, you cant return the product. I opened the plastic packaging for a pair of headphones and tried to return them 20 minutes later after realizing the poor quality. Since it had been opened, they wouldnt take it. The cashier wanted to help, but the bookstores policy has no wiggle room.
I have come from far away an d it closed. To better serve the public, it should be informed in advance so people dont waste their precious times
BETTER DEALS! also need to start publicizing the spirit. I barely see any around campus.
TERRIBLE customer service! I purchased a 65$ Backpack unsure of if it would fit my supplies, I told the clerk I might return it as I tore the tags off. He told me nothing about the return policy. 15 min later I spoke with the manager Heather who provided terrible customer service with a rude attitude, told me I could not exchange the back at all with my PROVIDED TAGS and RECEIPT. She gave me no references as to where I could resale the backpack and did not attempt to make any refund. WHAT A RIP OFF!
Horrible customer service. Manager does nothing to try to help or fix a problem. Tried to refund a shirt that didn’t fit, I provided tags and receipt but because it was torn off she wouldn’t do anything. Told me to buy another shirt because she couldn’t do anything for me. Did not work with me at all. Never buying clothes from there again.
25% off 3 day sale! On Sac clothes! Sac Hoodies for Everyone for Xmas this year
Friendly staff, selection of books is small but good
Good store. Lots of CSUS merchandise. They also have a coffee/tea shop inside which is nice. Books are on the second floor.
Love visiting and finding souvenirs from my alma mara
Ok place. Wish they had stickers to buy and a more selection of stuff.
Its clean and easy to find items.
Got me some nicely priced scantrons and I was in and out.
This is a great place to get books, backpacks, and more. Many different items from license plate frames to simple toiletry items.
Stingers up. But no one wants to cuz they send you to the counter to answer questions
Nice book store, they do price match for major retailers in a form of store credit
Nice. Remodeled since I was last there.
Very nice, staff was helpful too.
Good service. Sometimes the lines are long overall very good.
Opened on Saturdays till 2 helpful students
Friendly employees items are a bit pricey
Amazing customer service. I typically spend 20 minutes there but thats just because Im a shopoholic with no money lol.
Great stuff, but its pricey. Its a university bookstore. Prices are always going to be marked up by 1000%
Nice store, kinda pricey though.
Great place to buy great products at a reasonable price.
Great store helpful staff. Prices arent too high compared to other schools bookstores.
This place is huge! Lots of Hornets merch.
A little pricey, but their little drugstore section is a convenient way for students to get emergency bandaids or toothpaste.
Safe, careful, still kind
I was able to find the books that I needed.
This place gets soooo packed in the begining of the semester, but ends up slowing down after a few weeks. Allof the student workers were nice and helpful
Liked all the sales!
I came in today to buy a shirt, I am an alumni that just recently graduated. I was told I had to wait in the book purchasing line while 3 other registers are open in the very front. I asked if I could buy the shirt and that I currently work for the schedule and I’m an alumni and I got rejected. If you have to buy books do it in line because the service is terrible
Very pricey compared to other Universities....especially when it comes to school apparel.. Nd their apparel is very plain and nothing to write home about....
Overpriced! Horrible return/exchange policyIf buying clothes make sure it fits before buying because theyll wanna cross examine the merchandise (even with tags still attached), must have receipt, and within 30 days for exchange.
Show up early, leave happy.
Positive customer service experiences.
Has everything you need. Great store and customer service
Its OK... Not alot of selection for babies
Too expensive! Poor customer service! But clean and organized ;)
They stock everything you could want for college and more.
Great selection of college gear!
Long lines, too crowded, really dusty, but too bad you have to use this at one point or another. Strike down this monopoly!
