Breakfast here is AMAZING! But be prepared to wait outside for at least 15 minutes before being seated...If youre patient, let me assure you: the wait is worth it!I got the Seafood Omelet, which is jam packed full of crab and shrimp. The creamy hollandaise smothered on top is creamy with just the right amount of lemony tartness. I could eat this every day for the rest of my life.Hash browns here are thinly grated, but thickly packed. These made for a crispy fried bed of potato all throughout, (NOT like those nasty crispy-on-top, soggy-in-the-middle hash browns you get from chain diners.)Shoutout to their French Toast though, I saw them plating an order and instantly knew I had to come back next weekend.PS: The coffee was also dank.
Coffee was great, mimosas were yummy, and the food portions were hefty and taste delicious. Staff was really friendly and atmosphere was very welcoming. The wait was a little long, but we went for a walk and tried a coffee shop down the street. The restaurant had benches outside, so we brought back our coffee and enjoyed it while we waited.
We were excited to try The Morning Fork. We werent disappointed in the least.Excellent Bloody Mary, candied pepper bacon was delicious.I had the Corned beef with perfectly cooked over easy eggs.My wife had Bacon eggs and potatoes. The portions are large so bring your appetite. We also had our 3 year old grandson with us. The childrens menu is any two sides for 7. Thats a great value for that list of sides is grand. There are three, yes three different potatoes. My Corned beef came over country fried, I had hashed browns on the side and my wife had classic fried with onions and peppers.Overall a great experience. Cozy little bistro with a breakfast counter and friendly people. They also showcase local artist works for sale. 6 stars if I could.
If you had one choice for breakfast/Brunch food and you didnt wanna be disappointed with your choice, The Morning Fork is your spot. There is usually a 25/30minute wait on the weekends, we usually have a party of 2. We usually get some form of the sage fried chicken, I usually get the Belgium waffle with it. Their loaded potatoes are a go to dish for me. And their bacon is thick and flavorful. Ive also had their breakfast wagyu burger, absolutely delicious. Added plus is all of the staff are very friendly, plus free and frequent coffee/ice coffee refills(try their iced lavender coffee). Cant say enough about this place, try it!
For years The Lucky Cafe occupied this location. We found the new to us Morning Fork by chance even though its been here a few years already. The place was busy and there was a list for a table but we managed to get seats at the counter without waiting which was fun. I had a Belgian waffle with maple crusted chicken and my friend had a Benedict. Food was good, atmosphere was fun and the staff is very attentive. I tried without success to drain my coffee cup. Ill definitely be back. Oh, and on Sunday, didnt have to feed the parking meter.
Cool little funky whole in the wall. Very nice atmosphere and everything is made from scratch. Our server was extremely sweet and funny. I had the Sage Chicken with the loaded hashbrowns and cinnamon toast which was yummy. My husband had the Eggs Benedict. The Eggs Benny had a nice thick slice of ham. Side note, their Bloody Marys are on point👌
Amazing casual brunch with down home favorites and also some local flare. Def recommend to people visiting town from solid brunch cities!
I have heard good things about this place, unfortunately we had some mishaps with our orders which prevent me from giving more than three stars. Ill have to try them again, after the pandemic...😒
Service was quick and attentive. Got the sage fried chicken with eggs and hashbrowns. I got the chicken cause it looked good and followed some reviewers advice. While chicken itself was good there was little to no seasoning on the breading and chicken itself. It seemed as if the oil used hadnt been changed in a while and wish the chicken had been seasoned. The good thing is that gravy came with it. Also, one of the chicken breasts was undercooked. Do not want to detract from the service or the other good food but this is simply about the chicken.
Had a very tasty brunch. Our group had the: crab omelette, eggs and fruit, house pancake (HUGE), eggs bennie, strawberry spritzer, and the attached hot chocolate that won the youngest over. Owner and staff were fantastically nice and the service was fast. A lovely find. Thank you. Happy Mothers Day!
Cool and mediocre place I guess for a cheap breakfast eat. Not too much flavor or seasoning on the food for me. The papaya spiced hot chocolate was too die for though..that I would give a 10/10 everyday of the week. Wasnt nasty maybe I just have to try something else on the menu. Me and my girlfriend both were highly pleased with our meals.
If your looking for a good place to eat in downtown Sacramento this is it. The service here was great and breakfast was really good. The waiter kept my coffee cup full with hot coffee and my wife ate all her food for once.
Food was good and the quality is great. Service was very good, but be advised at some point they started restricting their menu on the weekends. Then pictures you see of the menus posted on here are not accurate.Came here with a group of friends. Personally I dont like a lot of breakfast items and after looking at the menu posted here was excited to try their lunch. We were told no lunch is served on weekends.
Despite a long wait list, they were able to quickly turn over tables and we didnt have to wait very long despite being peak breakfast/brunch time on a Saturday. Our server was great - very helpful despite having a lot of tables to attend to. A plate of hash browns we got was a overcooked, and they did not hesitate to replace it with a perfectly cooked plate. The waffle was also delicious, crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Planning to return the next time I want breakfast food.
Honestly one of the best breakfast spots I’ve ever had. I’ve traveled to over 45 states. Excellent job and excellent service. My personal favorite is the pancake and seafood omlette
My Mother, my daughter and I went in this morning for breakfast. I ordered the biscuits with gravy, over medium eggs. My daughter got the potato platter and my mother ordered the eggs benedict. Food came out. Nice presentation. However when I went to cut my eggs, they were way undercooked. I specifically said over medium. I enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. The eggs were gross. I did not tell them because we all know what happens when you send something back. Also one of the waitresses had a ridiculous amount of sweat under her arms. Her shirt had circles of sweat under her arms. Looked kind of nasty. Overall I gave them a 3. Probably wont be going back.
Went on a Saturday and it was so good I had to go back Sunday. Service was fast and everyone was so friendly. Cant wait to go back again.
Great little diner. Good portions and all the food was delicious. Its an enhanced greasy spoon feel.
Today I had the waffle combo which consists of a beautifully crisp outside, thick and fluffy inside, original thin waffle. Take the word thin with a grain of salt. The two sides I chose for my combo were the applewood smoked bacon and hash browns. Then to top it off I added two over medium eggs.First, the waffle was hot and delicious topped with powdered sugar and compound butter. The compound butter is whipped in house with some special seasonings. Make syrup provided on the side.Second, the bacon is thick, perfectly cooked and delicious.Third, the hash browns were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The thickness of the hash browns was near perfect and provided a good contrast between the crispy outside and moist inside.Fourth, the eggs were expertly cooked. I always order my eggs over medium and some places dont cook them right. Here the eggs were cooked perfectly to this temperature, runny yolks with no runny whites. I realize thats this is one of the hardest ways to cook eggs and these were spot on.They may consider to change the following. Serve the butter for pancakes and waffles at a *slightly* warmer temperature so it melts easier and quicker. In addition, they may consider serving the syrup warm or hot rather than room temperature. Neither of these detracted from my enjoyment of my meal. If these were done it would have elevated my meal a bit higher.Service was excellent. Jennifer S was attentive and thoughtful in the service she provided. Ill be glad to come back and know that she is an amazing server.I highly suggest you come enjoy a meal here, it is highly likely that you will be very pleased!
Everyone from the hostess to our server was extremely helpful and friendly. We had great service and fantastic food. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Great food! Great service! Moved to the area last year and dont know why I never found this place for breakfast
What a hidden gem! Breakfast was wonderful, the staff were great. Well definitely be back.
The Challah french toast was amazing !! I was told the wait was a half hour and was seated with a friend within 15mins of walking in. The sweet pepper bacon ! Get it .
Excellent breakfast spot in midtown. Good coffee, delicious breakfast with healthy potion size
One Of The Best Breakfast Spots In Sacramento, California. Everyone Is Just Friendly, Helpful, And Cheerful There. I Feel Like Employees Are Treated Super Well, And They Love Their Job. The Restaurant Was So Busy, But The Waitress Was Able To Sit Us On The Table We Have Chosen In No Time. The Food Is Just Beyond Outstanding, We Tried The Egg Benedicts, Omelets, And Some Sort Of A Bomb Waffle Afterwards With Some Sort Of Cream Cheese. Extremely Delicious 😋 I Highly Recommend This Place If You Hungry Tummy For Breakfast, And You’re Craving Some High Quality Food.
Came here during my 30 minute lunch, placed an order, and waited... Came to find out my lunch wasnt started. So I just didnt get to eat that day. Seems like they get overwhelmed too quickly. The food appears appetizing, but I guess Ill never try it because Im never coming back here. Thanks for the limescale tapwater though I guess.
Old Lucky Cafe location. The new owners have done a very nice job in remodeling the old, tired cafe that was there before. 1st time here. Got here early, so no wait for a table & service was quick & friendly. By the time we left it was surprisingly busy for a Monday morning. The eggs Benedict were very good. Thickest ham steak ever ! The egg might have been cooked a few seconds too long, but for me that is ok as I hate it when the egg white isnt cooked . The sauce is one of the better ones in town.I liked the biscuits & gravy, alot. The biscuits are fried a bit so the gravy doesnt soak in too fast, making the biscuits a bit hard instead of light & fluffy.Best scrambled eggs Ive had in a restaurant in a long while . Good flavor, cooked exactly as ordered. We were not impressed with the look of the $5 pancake, if you like thick, fluffy pancakes this is not it BUT what a pleasant surprise - pancake was very good!Next time we plan on having the corned beef hash and the eggs Benedict (again )
Best breakfast in town. Must try the Seafood Omlette
It was amazing. The waitress was super duper helpful and the food was wonderful. The waffles were sooo good
Great food, friendly service. The local art was amazing. Definitely will be back often!
Im sad to update this and give a bad review. Third time was not the charm. I had the chicken and waffles again. But this time, the chicken was grossly overcooked. The meat was completely dry, and the edges were almost charred! How do you do that when deep frying a chicken breast? I wanted to support local during this crazy time. But that was such a turn-off.
Great little diner! I get the french toast with a side of fried chicken.. amazing!!!
Good spot downtown. Gets filled up fast. Indoor, outdoor & an expanded room inside for more seating. Wish it opened earlier than 9am!
OMG the food is AMAZING and the service is even better, how is that possible? Not sure but they mastered it. We have been here like every weekend over the past month since we discovered this delicious food heaven! I strongly recommend the French Toast they melt in your mouth. We travel a ton and hands down compared to any place we have been in the country and might I add France too (lol) these are hands down the BEST. The owners are phenomenal people we just met them last week, it’s clear why the food is amazing, it’s done with heart. There is always a wait but it’s so WORTH IT!
The food was fabulous. Five Star service, The whole business comes with a wonderful history. Thank you thank you thank you.
Best. Breakfast. Ever! The portions are huge we were all stuffed and had to take some home! It was like a hometown neighborhood restaurant with food youd pay double for at a bistro in a big city. I cant say enough about how everything was cooked just perfectly and delicious. The staff was friendly and personable. Everyone was hustling to give great service and cheerful from the moment we walked in to clearing out plates. This place has a beautiful midtown feel filled with gorgeous local artwork you can actually buy! I am going to recommend this place to everyone I know!
My new favorite local breakfast. Have you tried bacon cooked **inside** the waffle before? If not...do it.
It was full and had to wait a little food was great, large portions. Everything around us looked good, I had the BLT at first I thought the bacon had been overcooked but to my surprise it was so yummy.
Friendly staff and well executed breakfast menu with both staples and some fun and unusual quick bread options (pineapple and waffles...sure why not 😀).
I enjoyed my blueberry waffle and coffee.
The best Corned Beef Hash Ive ever had. A true gem.
The bomb, the Wagyu burger & impossible sausage beenies are a must try
Amazing egg combinations and selections. If you like your eggs with some soul and flavor, this is the place for you.
I enjoyed this place good meat and vegetarian options good service was clean and food showed they take pride 8n there work also kid friendly.
Food was ok. Portions were large. Need to try it again!
Amazing Eggs Benedict! Got it to go, the staff was very friendly and would love to go back and try others dishes.
Visiting family. Asked Siri for breakfast places. The Morning Fork came up, had great reviews, and comments. OMG it was the best breakfast, and the service was top notch, with reasonable prices, and large selection to choose from. A must business for all to try.
Yummy food... Especially the sage fried chicken, anything with gravy, and pretty much everything Ive tried!
Love this place. Good was great. Awesome diner
Decent enough breakfast with a friendly enough staff, at least once they warm up to you. But not enough to get me to rave about the place.
The people were nice, super friendly. But the food wasn’t all that. The hash browns weren’t crispy at all, the bacon tasted like beef jerky and the eggs weren’t much better either but the toast was good.
Really good food! I had the corned beef hash and I think it was one of the best Ive ever tasted. My sister had an omelette and it was also very good quality. Ill be back again.
Maaannn if you havent tried this place its a must!!! Food was wonderful and came out quick!!!
Great food and friendly staff. Definitely coming back!
Corned Beef Hash made in house. Very good.
Great service, nice atmosphere, great prices and food.
Cool old school vibe and serves traditional style breakfast.
The food is good and the service is great plus they have very good bloody marys
Everything and everyone was amazing. The french toast and wagyu are worth it.
First time for wife and I to be there. The breakfast was fantastic. Cantwait to go there again.
Amazing food! Great environment. So glad indoor dining is back open. Must have in Sacramento area!
My first experience at this restaurant. It was labor day and there was about an hour and a half wait to be seated. The entire restaurant was buzzing. Everyone was working really hard and trying to keep everything moving.I was a bit apprehensive since sometimes when as busy as they were the food quality can suffer.I was surprised when being seated the waitress came out promptly and took our drink orders. She was very patient with us as we needed a little time to figure out what we wanted. No rushing by the staff or pressure it was pleasant. After ordering our food we did not wait that long before we got out plates all of the food was hot I mean straight off the grill hot. I had to wait for it to cool down a bit before I could chow down. Honestly I find it rare that I get food straight off the grill hot like that (a huge plus in my book)All in all the place is a nice breakfast spot. I think its a great choice for brunch or breakfast.
Simply Amazing Breakfast!!! Crab Benedict 🦀 WOW
Lucky enough to live real close to the morning fork. Smells alone are worth every penny. This place has a friendly staff that works efficently even in the craziest of rushes. The food is on a whole.other level! I really enjoy the eggs Benedict here. Perfectly soft muffin with crunchy toasty bottom, thiccc ham, eggs are poached to perfection, hollandaise sauce is buttery without breaking. Overall, this place is worth the wait and would recommend to locals and visitors alike.
Great food great service but get there early it fills up fast and so does the wait list
My daughter insisted we try one of her favorite breakfast spots! So we came, we ordered and we conquered a delicious breakfast. Wonderful, friendly and attentive service to go with a great meal. We dont live close but we will definitely be back. The Sage fried chicken and sweet peppered bacon was absolutely delicious.
The food here is great! A very unique veggie omelet was tasty and stuffed with flavor.
The food is amazing here! I had the sage chicken with home fries, rye toast, scrambled eggs, and a pancake. The portions are huge! The breading on chicken was perfect, the gravy was obviously home made and not bought from some cheap supplier. I will be back and bring others here in the future.
Great food, prices, and staff. Love the Morning Fork.
A midtown must, best breakfast and freindly service in sacto, I worked here a year and can say this is a wholesome place for all walks of life and faces like I said a must
Lovely little local dive diner. Yummy food too. Classic suit down at the table atmosphere while coffee brews and bacon too
Chicken and waffles were GOOD!
