I went in there today to check out what the 40K scene was like. I was greeted by a very friendly employee who walked me back to the gaming area and explained how it worked and how 40K was typically played on Friday. These are the kinds of shops I love. Ive had super bad experiences with Games Workshop stores and much prefer to support and play at the local game stores and it looks like Ive found my shop. Plus bonus I live right right across the street.

This place is really cool! So much neat stuff to find and explore. The staff is friendly and helpful. Good customer service! I liked the fact that the employees seemed to be players and not just employees. Good experience! The guy we talked to before purchase was super helpful and knowledgeable about painting. We’ll be back again!

Great place for Cards, Boardgames and Miniatures to expand your fun or invest into a hobby. Some of the miniatures are the size of a toddler.

What a great place! Friendly (and masked) workers make you feel right at home, and they all obviously know their stuff. I had no idea that many different games existed--just rows and rows of goodness. One of the items we purchased was a family card game that cost $3 less here than it does on Amazon. Im sure Ill be spending lots of time here for many years to come. Its like gaming paradise!

What a fantastic place! Customer service was the first thing that stood out to me. I was greeted right away and was offered assistance. My partner and I came in for miniature paint supplies, but was surprised by the abundance of supplies and minis! Tasha helped us find what we needed and was incredibly encouraging to us noobs. I reccomend this business to anyone who is in need of DnD supplies, board games or just some good advice.

An AMAZING game store with great staff and a Huge selection. Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds (maybe thousands) of board games. All of the big collectible card games like MTG & pokemon. Plug a GIANT room with tables and map terrain for miniature games and table top. Throw in great prices and a convenient location and the place is almost perfect.

My husband, children, and myself love this little hideaway shop. They have all kinds of cool stuff inside as well as a game room for those that like playing DND and MTG games. I have bought several sets of six-sided dice, The Nightmare Before Christmas version of Clue (fun game, but definitely be better played with at least 3 people although I recommend 4 js), magic cards, a Tiara for my daughter and thats just some of the different items Ive bought, but theres figurines, DND dice, other types of dice either single or a set ranging from I believe 7-30 dice/set, other board games, cards, snacks and well theres just so much packed inside youd really need to check it out to see what Im talking about. Its a little bit hidden though and you wouldnt think to check the little driveway leading to the back of the Oasis Laundromat to find it, but thats where its located 😉

An excellent selection of hobby products are available. The salespeople are very friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about the products and games that they sell. The store is very clean and well organized. Theres a very welcoming, friendly wargaming community. We are very happy with the purchases that we made, and will happily return again soon.

Used to be my go-to place but lately the staff has been seeming to be less interested in assisting customers. I get interrupted half way through asking about cards to go look at them on their computer and find it out from there. That itself isnt too big of a deal but I usually dont find the items Im looking for within their inventory but then find them when I actually look through cards...but the store itself had definitely earned the praise it had gotten before! Still a great store!

It was all right.Ive visited the store on multiple occasions at this point and todays visit just felt like a bit of a letdown. We travelled in for an event, and while Id hoped for it to be more substantial, particularly so as I saw the posts on facebook indicating it would be full. Nope; seems about half full and awkwardly warm throughout the whole store. The bathroom was clean enough, and useable (Ive seen it far better though), and I wish Id have been able to locate more than one bottle of sanitizer after perusing the shop contents.Normally it is difficult to find seating outside of events and today was even worse. There was a single chair right by the door to be used and I did not see the area cleaned during the visit. Sorry, but not overly friendly to those with movement difficulty or disabilities that may need to sit down and take a break if they are having problems.The used cases, as Id anticipate were fairly barren..consisting primarily of pokemon cards and what felt like high priced 3d printed resin models.I always try to purchase something to support local stores when visiting but I simply didnt find anything I had wanted. Maybe next time; and maybe next time it will be improved.

Probably my favorite LGS in the greater Sacramento area. The employees are personable and knowledgeable, they are always able to order in what I need, and their stock is wide and varied. Need a unit of Skittari for your new Ad Mech army? They have it. Grabbing a box of the newest MTG release? Done. Painting minis for your gaming group? One-stop shop for everyone from Reaper Bones to Nolzurs. Gloomhaven? Yes. Ticket to Ride? Absolutely.Ive never seen such a wide variety or games and hobbies in one place. And they have just as much room for their weekly tournaments, game nights, and meet-ups. Be they huge, hours long games of Warhammer or pre-release events, they really have it all. Please support these guys and all they do!

Showed up for gen con popup event had lots of fun. I also put in for there painting contest for the month of March. Store always has something going on lots of stock and lots of room to play table top. For sure the best table top store in Sacramento area.

Great Escape Games is a great place for gaming hobbies. They take the pandemic seriously requiring masks and doing temperature checks at the door. You can reserve tables for your hobby on their website which have been spaced out and marked to help with easy social distancing.

One of my favorite game shops of all time. A staggering selection of products from across the whole hobby, with fair prices to boot. A large and comfortable gaming area for tournaments and other events. Helpful and knowledgeable staff that quickly help you find what you need. I always pop in whenever Im in the area, and once in a while Ill even make a dedicated trip JUST to come here - theyre TWO HOURS away from where I live.

Came in during the initial reopening from Covids. Everything was clearly marked and all staff were wearing masks. Store was clean. Employees kept their distance but still helpful. Great selection of merchandise. I would recommend coming to the store anytime. Ill be back in the near future. Felt like they were paying a lot of attention to safety measures.

We absolutely love this game store. Not only are they super friendly, but also really knowledgeable. They are our go to game store for everything we need. On top of their awesomeness, they also lend out games to try with no time limit. The staff are welcoming and know who we are when we come in. Anytime we have to shop elsewhere, we feel dirty inside, like we cheated.

I dont have a ton of experience with game shops but I like this one. It is large, has a good selection of games, game guides, miniatures, dice, and more. The staff is friendly and happy to help answer questions, as are the regulars who frequent the place.My partner and I recently participated in an Adventure League session of D&D and had a great time. Unfortunately our schedule wont allow for it to be a regular thing but we learned some valuable skills to bring to our home campaign.

This place is great. Tons of space to play games, huge variety and selection. The store even has demo copies of some games so you can play before you purchase. They also have a loyalty/reward program as well.But honestly, the best part is the customer service. Staff seem to genuinely enjoy working there, and are very knowledgeable about most of the stores selection. They can provide suggestions and tips for model painting as well.

My son loves this place.

I just moved to Sacramento and heard that this was the place to play X-Wing Miniatures, so I went on a Thursday at 6pm. When I walked in the young man behind the counter greeted me with genuine warmth and showed me where the game area and bathrooms were. The store has three gender neutral bathrooms, and a huge gaming area in the back. There was more than enough room for four games of X-Wing to be played. Better still, the local community is very welcoming and I had a blast. So far this store has done enough to earn my loyalty and patronage, and the X-Wing community is very friendly and everything you would want.

My happy place. Been going to GE since I was 13 years old. I grew up there and so did my oldest son. Great store, great community which has always treated my family and I like one of their own. Thanks for all the years of fun.

Overall great escape has great customer service. The parking is lacking but tolerable. Its a great store for table top games, warhammer, MTG and most of all Dungeons and Dragons. You will find a ton of board games, minature accessories, paints. A great Nerd of a time

Used to be my go to shop for all my table top hobbies. Still is at least for paints and the odd, obscure item. I will say that GEG stocks a verry wide range of games and gaming supplies. Kind of miss the older, more intimate feel the shop had but was very grateful for the relocation and eventual redesign.

Stopped by in my search for an expansion to a board game and pleasantly surprised by the sheer size of the store, the community of people and the options of games available. They have a huge selection of board games and other related items. They even have a large community space for those interested in bringing together a large group or want to try other games with their scheduled events happening regularly. The store is behind the complex (behind the Marshalls and Gym) which is a little confusing at first but easy to find when you drive around.

Great shop! I only play Magic the Gathering, but theyve got EVERYTHING here from board games to miniatures and the painting accessories etc. They also have a massive gaming space with plenty of room for all.

This might be the biggest game store I have ever seen. They have a good selection of games to choose from and have a large area for gaming in house. Prices are what you would expect at any brick and mortar, but the staff is friendly and helpful.

Helpful staff, big selection!

Incredible selection and amazing variety of games from every imaginable publisher, as well as tons of accessories for almost any game you can think of.Unfortunately the scale makes some of the more casual game nights a little impersonal, and despite most of the staff being super friendly, this feels like more of a retail space than a place to gather casually with friends.That isnt to say I wont visit again, but I do think there could be a little less push from the staff and space given to just browse.

Super helpful staff and very cool store!! The overall energy of it all is very positive. One thing to note: I did drop an F-bomb and the one dude helping us did VERY politely inform me that it was a family friendly store and asked to not swear (which is hard because I curse like a sailor. Terrible habit.) cant wait to visit again.
