Slab offers a range of excellent quality, handcrafted soaps and bath bombs with dozens of scents. The staff are friendly & knowledgeable, and the soaps have incredible texture, and longevity, and aromas while in use. Couldnt recommend it more!

When I was younger I gave this place a mere 3 star rating, I complained about the prices however looking back I didnt grasp how much work and true care is put into these soaps. Being in the service and traveled around I cant find a place quite like SLAB thats as high quality even at equal prices, I order these soaps (Irish Tweed and Chocolate mint) fairly regularly and the shipping is fast and always comes with a sample of other scents to try.

$7.50 for a bar of soap? Are you kidding me right now???I remember when they first opened and a bar was $4. And then a few years later it was $5. I wasnt happy about it but I still bought some. Now I go in there and find out its OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive...The owner is cool. The soap is great and its in a great location. But wow... the prices are laughable.Next year maybe it will be $10 a bar!Sappo Hill is just as good but way more affordable.

I like this place and the soap. I dont mind the prices at all. But there are 2 things I want to say. #1. I wish the ingredients list on the wrapper(s) was a little more specific. What are exotic butters? Shea butter? Murumuru butter? Mango butter? All of the above? I also purchased a shampoo bar and the ingredients on the wrapper are the EXACT SAME as the wrappers that my bars or soap are in. So are you telling me that all of the soap bars are also shampoo bars because they have the same ingredients? #2. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if youre going to sell shampoo bars PLEASE PLEASE sell conditioner bars. Also, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE start selling body butter bars (solid moisturizer bars). Thats what I initially came in there looking for. A solid moisturizing block (butter block). Im telling you people would LOVE them!!!!! Everyone (well most people) want to moisturize their skin after cleansing. Well, those are my 2 suggestions. Thanks.

Fantastic soaps! Join their mailing list they are always having great sales. I have super sensitive skin and have never had problems with any of the soaps I have tried. Plus they are so much more moisturizing than any of the liquid bodywashes Ive been using.

Not a big fan of the Reed OH anymore, but this place has quality products. Stuff smells as advertiesed, lasts along time, and is very affordable. If youre into scented hand soaps, this is the place to buy em.

Other people said pricey?? I totally disagree. I moved away from Salem to the East Coast. I used to walk miles to get to the down town Salem shop as I didnt have a car. Also bought them @ Roths. Here on the East Coast I went on walmart and amazon. Less soap and horrible reviews. Locally where I live you cant get QUALITY HAND MADE SOAPS. If you want quality soaps with excellent fragrances Slab is the only place to go. Thanks Tim for putting out an excellent product!!

The prices are a little bit high but worth the cost. The store smells awesome and the staff is mostly, mostly, friendly. Just stop in for a smell.

Slab has really nice soap with very local scents, which is great. They are overpriced by about $1.50 unfortunately. If the prices were down even $1, I think Id shop here more often.

This soap is all I use now! They have great guy type soaps as well! I go for Irish Tweed, Musk, Sandlewood & Aloe. If you get on their email list & purchase the soaps online, there is usually a special.

Ive been a customer for years.My last review was 5 stars.....love the soap but Im not sure I want to pay $7.50 a bar when I can buy soap here from my local herbalist or other nice handmade soap at my local Farmers market. I guess Im suffering sticker shock...last time I purchased this soap it was $5.00 a bar and I was buying at least 10 bars each time.

Sure its a bit pricy, and you get what you pay for! Its great! It should be S.L.A.B. (soap like a BOSS!!!). One bar lasts me about a month. A little bit goes a long way and i felt lighter somehow after using it the first time. Plus theres nothing in there except what soap was originally. All that makes it worth it in this old dudes opinion

I have been purchasing and using this soap exclusively for several years now. I went to visit my sister in Salem and found your store front downtown in the old Reed Opera House.. I bought several bars and brought them home to Washington. Since then, I have been ordering them online. I feel extremely spoiled and always take a bar or two with me when I travel so I dont have to use commercial soaps with all the added ingredients.
