I just recently moved to Penn Valley and was surprised to see a Kmart - I thought theyd all gone out of business! This Kmart was VERY clean, shelves were neat and fronted. The bathroom was immaculate.Tonight was my 2nd visit. They had store closing and everything marked down on clearance signs. Despite this stock dwindling - the store is still very neat and restroom clean.Despite knowing theyre losing their jobs, the staff and managers are still maintaining a clean and organized store.The employees and management are to be commended.

This Kmart will be the last surviving California Kmart. The store has a open pharmacy. Well stocked but parts are closed off! Along with the Garden Center! How much longer will this store survive? Or will this be the last Kmart in the United States of America?

Im sorry it is closing. Ive worked here and I like shopping at Kmart. Ive always bought Jacklyn Smiths clothes and Confortable shoes.

I miss our Kmarts in Sacramento and the greater region. While I was in Grass Valley it was cool to have shopped here today. Store seemed well stocked. Staff helpful too.

It was kind of like going to watch an old friend die. The store itself was clean and organized. The staff was helpful. Its just not like the old Kmart.

Closing this December 😕 then only 16 stores left that are open as of today that is that can change by tomorrow.. So sad for me cuz the closest is 759mil away

I miss having a Kmart close bye... I went in search of the candles that only Kmart carries, beautifully scented but no longer do. But they still have some great fashions which I bought a couple of new outfits and I am very pleased with them..

Kmart just isnt what it use to be, less necessities, less to browse, thus the reason I rarely bother going in. Usually when I have to go in its because Im in a rush, and even if Im paying cash they have to go through all the questions needing my zip code, my rewards number, if I want to donate to local fund, another fund, etc etc, so youre at the mercy of the speed of the computer system as well as the cashier. You dont get to watch the prices roll out on the computer to make sure youre not being overcharged, and then receipt is ridiculous long for purchasing just one small item. It feels like a big building with a fraction of the merchandise they use to have. Maybe if there was a Starbucks inside..... Unfortunately this local Kmart has always been mysterious to us all, we all anticipate it being the next to close and then it doesnt....

I wonder when this horrible place will finally shut down? They never have what you need and gets smaller and smaller all the time due to nobody shopping there.

Kmart is the closest store we have here in grass valley to a Mall, its been good to me and my family 85% of the time with price and help,those are pretty good odds these days with all the internet rip-offs, Thank You K Mart

They either need to expand the store or close it down. They no longer serve the needs of the community as they once did. I now have to travel out of town to get the things that I need.

The employees are always friendly and curtious but the stock inside the store is pathetic anymore! Its ashame to see the way it is anymore.

Looks like they shipped in the “junk” from other stores that didn’t sell and shipped out the goo stuff was there 10/24 and the store is 15-70. % off closing sell. But they had job applications to fill out lol

One-stop shop for everything you need! Great place with good deals and even better customer service! Way above the quality and customer experience than competitors (ex. Walmart, Target, etc.) Often forgotten but would definitely recommend instead of going to another (worse) big box store!

Standard Kmart shrinking in size. The whole back of the store is closed off, this was my first time in there so I dont know how long its been like that. Right now there seems to be a major sales going on, anywhere from 30 to 80% off. Im sure you can find something there you need.

Only thing this store has that is good is uyou might find what you need in desperation and pay alot for it cause the price on thing are ridiculous and they take you for, not many stores in this town and they know it, it wont be there long i hope, a walmart needs to take over.

Kmart is having their closing sale going on right now. Most merchandise is 15% - 30% off and some 60%. Close to none selection in furniture. Mostly clothing and household items. Kmart is closing permanently.

Needs to either close completely or get better customer service! I would have put less stars if there werent as good sales happening.

Ive lived in Grass Valley for the greater part of 2 decades and this is the only big box store in the area. This may be one of the last-standing Kmarts in California. The store is poorly maintained, in dire condition of a remodel, and many prices are MARKED UP, over msrp. Kmart simply doesnt care as theres no other competition for miles, so people dont have a choice but to shop there. Its horrible. Im honestly not sure why Target or even Walmart hasnt opened up shop in Grass Valley. It would completely destroy this stores business overnight.

Super disappointed in what the store has become. They have put divide in making the store about half the size, running on what seems to be a skeleton crew and what stock they did have is now decreased yet again, along with quality it seems. On more than one occasion my family has gone in there to get something that we used to be able to find there to be told that they no longer carry that item, mens belts is a good example of items they no longer carry. We also went in to pick up some rubber made type totes to be told they will not be getting them in and if they do it will be extremely limited sizes. If this store is not on the closing soon list, their current business model will probably give them no other choice.

Expected more from this place...considering that most Kmarts closed the doors permanently...I was shocked to see one still existed...the moment I walked in I was disappointed...

In a state mandate of enforcement of wearing masks, this store (specifically a white female “manager”) did not enforce such mandate as she physically saw someone not wearing their mask and another not wearing it properly. Instead insisted on placing blame on a person trying to enforce such mandate (WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN HER JOB)Only wish we could give them a 0 stars.Do better or watch all of the Kmarts fall.

This must be one of the last few K Marts in America. This store has been cleaned up and reorganized. It has K Mart stuff. Clothing, kitchen, shoes, sporting goods, automotive, tools, food and towels and sheets The depth of inventory is not great. I noticed the electronics section is gone. Theres also hygeine and cosmetic items. The outdoor garden section is closed but maybe they will open it when the weather gets warmer. This store serves a purpose to the community by offering value based items. Theres lots of good deals!

Disgusting to see that management and staff would let any customers unmasked visit their location. They are actively promoting unhealthy behavior. I would never shop in this dump in a million years.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DONT ENFORCE WEARING A MASK. One of the managers of the store a white lady with glasses sent out a customer for calling out another customer for not wearing their mask properly. The manager at this locations didnt even see what was wrong with these customers not wearing their mask as they hurled curse words and homophobic slurs at the one that addressed their lack of face cover up.

The place is pretty much empty, apparently since covid they havent gotten any shipments in or something, the staff is really nice and helpful they just need stock

Two EMPLOYEES made a man leave because he pointed out the mask mandate to a customer NOT wearing one. One employee was even wearing her mask incorrectly. Shame on this company. Should do better

Just bought house slippers that I have been wanting to get for 9 months and my wife bought 2 pairs of her favorite walking shoes, finally they have a good selection. Happy 4th of July!

Had just had a horrible experience at Big 5 with two rude staff members. What a delight to go to KMArt and actually have helpful, friendly staff. ALL the staff at KMart were excellent. I really appreciate their great customer service. Keep up the great job!!!

Never expect too much - it is K-Mart, but this past year theyve really downsized the merchandise.No more bird food, garden dept pretty sparse, forget about phones. Im a patient person but get frustrated when I spend time choosing clothing thats displayed as marked down, then that doesnt register at the register. More than once Ive had to have an employee go check or go back myself only to find the item was marked down. I ask the cashiers to read me the prices as they go through. Generally they are pleasant but tonights cashier was really rude. Sierra acted very annoyed though there was no one but me in line, the place was not busy, she refused to go look until another cashier directed her to. Yes one pair of pants was discounted in spite of the registers reading. Im pretty sure the other pair was as well, I dont think Sierra bothered to look. My other option is JCPennys, but they didnt have the styles and prices I needed. What was a pleasant evening shopping became an arduous task. Sierra didnt bother to apologize, make eye contact, or otherwise acknowledge my frustration. I dont wonder they are going downhill. Thanks to the nice customer service cashier, shame on you Sierra, you shouldnt be there if you dont want to do this service oriented job.

Lots of people were not wearing a mask! We’re in the middle of a Global pandemic, with orders to wear a mask to protect ourselves and others. People are selfish, and even the rats (which the store is full of), had the decency to wear one. Be better.

The employees arent treated well at all, and the store is in disarray. Nothing is organized in any way shape or form. I guarentee that whatever it is that you are looking for is out of stock. Even if it shows that the item is present online.

We my wife and I had a good experience at Kmart. . Perfect place to shop. Im not going to lie. Im not going to lie. I was shocked. Better yet. We were shocked. To find an open Kmart.

They do not care about customer safety. They encourage people to. It wear a mask! And kick you out of the store if your wearing a mask.

Would not enforce mandatory masks and the place is not very hygienic at all. The staff is very rude when you come to them about basic safety. The customers are not any better I dont recommend going here unless you want to contract covid 19 or be kicked out for asking another customer to follow the law and wear a mask.

It easy to find out anything you need

Does not take public health and safety as a top priority. It is a legal and moral responsibility to enforce mask laws during a pandemic and to support shoppers who feel uncomfortable when others are allowed in the store without complying. It is completely inappropriate to single out someone who is asking a facility to enforce a public health law.

Very very kind people work there, the store, parking lot and isles were all clean and very well organized.

I went in with a mask and the employee tried to drop kick me and throw her scanner at me when i asked if she would put her mask on right. then the customers without masks started undressing and saying they wanted to fight me. it was ruthless
