Best croissants in town! Lots of gluten free things as well!

We popped in on a Tuesday in the later afternoon, and poked around for a bit before selecting two bags of ravioli. We were then greeted and given a lively and enjoyable lesson on butter as well as cooking instructions for the pasta we were purchasing. Tonight, we cooked our lobster ravioli and OH WOW they were GOOD. WOULD BUY AGAIN.

Jean Louis is awesome. His shop has crazy cool flavors of pasta that he makes himself. He also offers delicious French sandwiches served on fresh baguettes. I recommend the ham sandwich. He even offers cooking classes which I attended. I now know how to make croissants and macarons.

The pasta and bread here are outstanding! We had raviolis and also dried pastas and they were all excellent. We liked the bison and wild mushroom ravioli best, but all were great!

I come to Salem once a year and look forward to stopping here every time. The fresh pasta is phenomenal, the atmosphere is great. Selection is huge

Good guy, amazing pastas! He has handmade sooo many different kinds of pasta and they are all tasting amazing!. My boyfriend and I come here once a year and he always has something new to try! My bfs favorite shop in salem is right here. Jean is very nice and a great cook. If you Want to make a nice home meal or love pasta like me I recommend this place!

Found this little place down the road from my hotel. Such a great guy with wonderful stories. I will definitely revisit when I come back to Salem and bring more goodies home to NY. The croissants are out of this world, homemade goodness.

Stop by in the morning for warm, fresh croissants! They are absolutely delicious! There’s usually a variety to choose from - like almond, chocolate, apricot, and plain - they sell out quickly.

Jean Louie’s Pasta should really be called Jean Louie’s Pasta & Croissants. In addition to his pasta being amazing, he makes AUTHENTIC, FRENCH croissants made with original French ingredients! Plain or almond croissants, pain au chocolate, pain au raisin and real French baguettes! You might want to try the baguette with French butter, Serrano ham, and Spanish Manchego cheese - take one along for the road too!LOCATION: right across the small street as you come out of the Salem ferry port.

Jean Louis’ little store is a treasure that is big on love and flavour. It will make you want to never buy pasta from anywhere else. If you are new to the area have him show you some of his favorite things when you step inside. You will not be disappointed.It’s also a great place to stop for a morning coffee and croissant to/from the Salem ferry. I adore this human and am so thankful he is in Salem. Jean Louis is part of the critical and unique fabric that makes Salem so wonderful. It’s a must on everyone’s list!

I went here this morning (note: you may want to call or just stop by to verify hours; google listing said open at 11, but I was right near there at 10, so I stopped by and he was open) -- amazingly delicious! I bought some fresh linguine. Very much looking forward to making that tonight. In addition, I read so many good things about his ravioli, so I had also bought some goat cheese and Portobello ravioli. I just made some for breakfast (I LOVE Portobello). I was going to add an egg on top but decided to add just a touch of butter as the sauce. Soooo delicious. I cooked 5 of the ravioli and like another person said, I could have been fine with 2 or 3. I ate all 5 of course because theyre that plate-licking (some of the filling had spilled out) yummy. Owner was so friendly too! I was going to buy the packaged linguini but when he learned I was making it tonight, he suggested the fresh batch hed made for Christmas and had frozen. He said itd look just like I had made the pasta fresh that day :D. Cant wait! So happy this place is in town! Ive been to Itaiy, and these ravioli were better than any pasta I tried in my quad-city tour!UPDATE: Linguine was just as delicious as the ravioli. Cant wait to get more.

Jean Louis’s store makes you never want to buy grocery store pasta sauce or boxed pasta again. His raviolis come in flavors that are common like cheese to flavors like goat cheese, beat & chive! The vodka sauce is a game changer for pasta lovers. I would also highly recommend the squash & nutmeg ravioli as well as the squash, eggplant, and veggie assortment one. They make a good mix of sweet and savory!

Wonderful fresh pasta, even gluten-free options! We highly recommend his gluten free pasta if you are gluten intolerant. It still has a great flavor and texture. For his regular pasta I recommend the saffron linguine. Toss that with some fresh shrimp and garlic...excellent
