I was looking for a new shop to take my vehicle to. I moved to a new town and I was looking for shop to bring my vehicles to. I found some good enough reviews to justify to going it to A1 Automotive . I made a hasty decision and I paid for it Jim the owner wasnt as professional as I had hoped hed be he did not listen to any of the things I said that Id done to the car therefore he had some trouble locating the exact problem when he called me a week later he told me exactly what I thought it was anyway. I was charged me for new battery terminals. I already had new terminals he also attempted to charge me for a battery but I told my battery was new I just wouldnt bring my car there or refer this place to anybody .

I pulled in after my check-engine light came on in an old car that I bought four months ago. Jim got to the diagnosis fairly quickly and let me know the catalytic converter was shot as well as an oxygen sensor. He gave me an estimate, which I approved, and he called for the parts. He was able to get them quickly and installed everything. I was back on my way 2.5 hours after I arrived. Hes not the least expensive guy around, but he has not steered me wrong in the two years Ive been going to A-1, and service is always reasonably fast.

Great place! I will definitely be coming here more often, I was helped out by Jim (super nice guy!) and he was able to get my car smogged and checked out in under 15 min!

I was very pleased that Jim, manager of A1, found the oil leak. Another refutable firm did not tighten my oil filter enough, so that it leaked a little. In the future, I will probably get my oil changes at A1, rather than that other place. The services I had done by A1 were quick and little of my time was wasted, thanks to Jim and his staff.

I was kept informed about what was happening and why it was happening. The manager was courteous and forthright.

Really lucky to have found this place. I broke down and needed a mechanic fast while traveling from Lake Nacimiento to South Lake Tahoe. They fit me in as soon as the tow arrived, diagnosed the issue immediately and treated me and both of my dogs with kindness and courtesy. Really just treated us like family! I also found prices reasonable. What a relief on a hard day to have found such professional and efficient service. Will be recommending to others in the area.

Ive been going here a couple of years now, before they were called A1. Always happy. I have an old vehicle and they are able to deal with it just fine.

Son took his dodge for not starting in mornings, was told some super-duper computer will diagnose, after 2 sensors changed and $600 paid same problem happened next morning. Another specialized diagnostic was done, egr valve was changed with $900 dollar in charges. Next morning same problem. This time they asked for money to change the fuse box.Used some wd40 started without problem took to dealer fuel pump was malfunctioning got it fixed no problems.Either they are not honest and decent people or they are not professionals of their field.Don’t recommend this shop to anyone.

Smog test more expensive of those around. Didn’t pass and still had to pay $50. Was told it was probably because of the battery so offered to replace it for $299! Not a mechanic but know that $300 for a battery replacement is very unreasonable. Please be fair and honest!
