I recently had a phenomenal experience with these guys that warrants a review. Long story short they went out of their way to take care of me and my company to meet a deadline that was unexpected. Specifically James and the lead tech were able to diagnose a problem that many others could not with a large Epson projector and then went the extra mile to fix it. My company will continue to use them for years to come.

He is a professional with seemingly limitless experience and patience that has allowed us to become familiar with their superior equipment. Once installed, it didn’t have the image quality I was expecting. I live several states away and emailed a picture of what I was seeing, expecting to get a reply in a couple of days. I received an email and a phone call within an hour. I shipped the unit back and it was fixed (and upgraded) very quickly at no charge to me. All the while I received daily updates on the status of the repair. My experience here was super helpful. I came into the store wanting to talk with someone about cinema cameras. I had done a lot of research beforehand (obsessively) but I still had a few lingering questions; well maybe more than just a few. First, I talked with Colin who oversees rentals and he was great. I actually came in a couple weeks prior and talked his ear off and he hung in there with me the entire time. Shortly after talking with Colin, James came into the store and he was a champ! Not only did he answer a plethora of my questions, but he was very enthusiastic and shared his thoughts about the various camera manufacturers. Like Colin a couple weeks ago, James and I talked for what must have been over an hour! I really appreciated these guys going above and beyond to provide great customer service and answering all of my questions. If you ever need to make a camera purchase or just talk with a specialist, this is the place to do it!
I had initially posted a negative review about my experience at TV Specialists, however after having been contacted personally and gone over my issues with their staff, I can definitely say that TV Specialists stepped up to the plate and made right what might have otherwise been a negative experience. Ironically I cant say much about their TVs (of which they are the Pros of) because I go to them with all of my film and video needs. Their staff are both very well-versed in the products they sell and very accommodating. I never felt like I was being pressured into buying anything.Ive purchased everything from a high end production camera to accessories and have been happy with every purchase. Collin, James, and Jeff are the guys I usually deal with and each of them are amazingly helpful and do their best to get me the best price for what I am buying. Ive found that most of the times their prices are better than what youll find on B&H.Also, they are my first place I go to whenever I need to rent equipment and have a pretty good selection of gear to use.

I purchased a home theater system from TVS and had them install it in my basement. It took them 3 days to install 6 SPEAKERS AND A DENON RECEIVER!! The surround sound works intermittently and requires several remotes. This companys lack of professionalism is astonishing! I had the expectation of dealing with specialists as the name suggests. My experience was the complete opposite. If you are looking for a competent company, I suggest you look elsewhere.
I went in there for 25 minutes and they had 8 workers. None of them said a word to me. Didnt even ask if I needed any help with anything. Those people suck. And now they will not service or repair anything that isnt bought from them.
Ive been in the video production business for 20 plus years. I keep up with the latest equipment and trends in the industry. I would hope businesses who sell the equipment would also keep up with the video industry. Every time I go into TV Specialists they dont have what Im looking for or have no clue what Im looking to buy. Im done shopping there and wanted to take the time to post a review.

I was pretty disappointed by the brief and unpleasant interaction I had with TVS. For working in a business that is built on relationships, the staff was unhelpful, stand offish, and rigid. The attitude and disposition I saw on my visit was not one with which you treat people and expect them to want to give you their production’s business. My team and I ended up walking out and ultimately finding what we needed from one of the owner/operators in SLC. TVS has a pretty decent range of equipment available, but I can not recommend exploring other options enough because five minutes with the charming crew of TVS will snuff any glimmer of hope you might have left in human kind.
Well where does one start? Authorized 100 $ on top of the non refundable 105 $, just to get attitude on the phone when WE hadnt called back to ok the ordering and replacement of the part we had previously authorized 100 on. Finally 3 weeks in and they were all happy and eager to help load the set just to find HUGE gouges in my screen knowing full well I wouldnt see them till I got home. Knowing full well I would have zero recourse. But ya if you take your stuff here you better document set condition or get bent over like I was.Probably wont be returning here the price the wait the attitude towards paying customers and lack of care for customer items ensures this
Ive been shopping at TV Specialists for drone and videography needs for nearly 10 years now. James is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. And you will not find anyone in the Salt Lake Valley who knows drones backwards and forwards like James and the other people at TV specialists.
As much as Id like to recommend others visit this place, I unfortunately cannot. Each time I go there is worse than the last. Theyve got pretty much all the gear youd ever want, but poor customer service leaves me feeling either ignored or patronized. The employees are either unhelpful or trying to show off their knowledge in comparison to you. Ive been in the industry for nearly a decade and know people like to flex their knowledge, but Im just trying to make a purchase and get out.Cables are marked up to ludicrous prices--$32 for a flimsy and weak Sanho 2 HDMI cable while Amazon offers shielded versions with more robust connectors for
They made me drive one hour and half round trip to to the service department just to tell me that the device was out of warranty:1- first problem: they could have saved me the drive by telling me it on the phone. I did gave them the purchase date on the phone.2- second problem: the blue ray player is garbage. It lasted one year and half. Specialist? In TVs maybe. Because they havent been able to fix any of my cameras. The guy was really polite, but I ended paying $150 bucks just to hear an I dont know what the problem is. It wasnt me not wanting to pay. They literally told me I dont know what to do. I showed him the problem right there, but he told me I was not pushing the button right... And that happened before back in the days of tape with another camera too. Send your camera to LA or Chicago and save yourself some time and money. Customer was informed of this at the beginning? Thats not true. I was trying to explain the problem and they were trying to convince me that I was wrong. Many of the TVs workers pushed the button and confirmed the situation, but the guy was trying to convince me that I was wrong.

I took my 60 inch Sony Bravia in there because Best Buy recommended them to me. I went in and explained what the problem was, the front desk lady for the service desk seemed nice but distracted. They ended up charging me almost $400 for a power supply and it took close to 2 weeks to get it in and fixed. I took it home and found out that they never even fixed the original problem of why I took it in. I called them and took it back the next day. They charged me an additional $500 for the actual problem and it took another 3 weeks for the part and fix. Had I known it would cost $900 I would have bought a new tv. I feel that I was swindled since they having known what the issue was simply ignored what I said was wrong with it, hence forcing me to pay a ridiculous amount and waist over a month of my time. I will never go to this place again and will try to convince everyone to steer clear of them. They are unethical and most definitely not specialists as the name suggests.
While moving, I dropped my 60 Vizio smart tv (corner w/ the power button hit the floor from), didnt shatter but wouldnt turn on. I was prepared to buy a new one for $800 or buy a used one for $500-$600 on KSL.I was quoted $105 with change as a labor charge in order to assess the damage and told I would pay more for parts. They called me the next day telling me its fixed. I asked what the additional charge would be, they said theres no additional charge, the cost was covered by the initial $105.Also, while picking up the tv, they had another 60 Vizio for sale. Refurbished for $399. Bought it on the spot, the price is less than what people are selling them for on KSL.Its been almost a week, both tvs work like a charm!

I do a large amount of business with hTV specialist. I visit weekly. I am a local video producer, I rent and buy all my pro camera equipment here. I can say they they know how to win a customer. I know trips like this are extremely hard on camera equipment. I made sure to get the insurance. Long story short, I broke that expensive camera in half. The rest of that vacation I worried about the cost I would incur because of my mistake. After returning that camera my cost was minimal and I was very relieved. They truly took care of me. I love TV Specialists for their showroom, and their staff that works there, like Mike. You can sit down and talk specs on a camera, they will answer specific questions about what works best for DOF, difference between 24f or 24p on cameras for example. Very smart guys and helpful.My thoughts on the Service department, I kept calling because I felt like you leave your lense here and well send it and let you know when it is back. When I called for a status update, I was informed I should wait and they will let me know when it will arrive. I was just an ancy customer about my camera being sent away. As a customer I felt like I was annoying them. The showroom guys make up for it.
