My first time stepping to ACME needing my contact pins fix and right off the bat I was impressed with the customer service, selection of products and knowledge of their staff. Jet helped me more than the I expected and still tried his hardest to get me what i needed fixed. With so many recommendations and such a friendly vibe there is very few companies out there that care about their customers as much as ACME. definitely would not go anywhere else now finding this GEM.

Acme Camera is amazing. I have had my lenses calibrated here several times and the service has been outstanding. The focus and clarity of my lenses/camera are always perfect after getting it done. They get the job done quickly, too. One of the gentlemen that works there makes the effort to remember the customers by name. I would recommend this shop to everyone.

This is a GREAT store.... actually it could also be a photography museum. It reminded me of the old photography stores from the 70s and 80s where they had absolutely every product a customer would ever want and need for their specific needs. But my favorite part of the store was the guys that work there. First of all, they are technicians who want to help meet your needs. They are not salespeople who are only concerned about selling you something. They were also extraordinarily knowledgeable about film, digital, mirrorless and antique cameras. They seemed eager to help in whatever I needed or was curious about. If you are having an issue with any piece of photographic equipment... I recommend this place with enthusiasm. The owner was cool, Jet the repair guy was fastidious, and the guy at the front wrapped and rewrapped my broken lens 3 times so we made sure we got it right for shipping... Aint no store in the world going to help you with that these days when there is nothing in it for them. In fact, I have a friend in Texas who is going to be using them to calibrate her equipment. And I am using them again to digitalize old film negatives and slides because they actually try to make them look good as opposed to set the machines on a general setting to get the job done! Not only do the employees treat you as if you’re nothing, they don’t respect your time. I bought a camera with a broken viewfinder and the owner promised me he would get it replaced if I purchased the camera, which I did and each time I would call he would tell me it’s coming until I just gave up. I had brought in a box of cameras that I was looking to sell and possibly trade in for something else, but the employee there took 4 hours to look over it all and then when I went back into the store he hadn’t even looked at them. Worst camera service I’ve received

Bought a few things here in the past but I ended up bringing in some old cameras and lenses that I had but didn’t know much about, they helped me test and get everything working. Plus the store itself is really cool too, lots of cool vintage things to look at. 10/10

The guys who work here are super knowledgeable and helpful. I go to Acme for rentals, gear repairs, equipment advice, everything. Great inventory and service. I scan my film on their Imacon Flextight and its been a game changer. Couldnt recommend enough.

I had a very poor experience dealing with the store. Communication was terrible. I sent a camera in for repair and 2 1/2 months later I had no estimate and almost no communication by phone or e-mail. Acme is the best camera store in Northern Utah. They have the coolest shop, with TONS of equipment. If you are looking for camera equipment, come here first. They have an awesome selection of premium secondhand equipment and are constantly getting more stuff. I’ve purchased so many things here that are dear to me. If you shoot film, this is your shop. They also rent equipment out for great prices.

Kirill was great and thorough. He clearly explained what needed to be fixed, and as someone who does not know a lot about cameras, it was very informative! I had a very positive experience with Acme and will go back for any future camera needs.

Cannot recommend highly enough - brought in a broken camera another shop had quoted at $250 to fix, these guys charged me $35 and fixed it within a couple hours so I didn’t have to drive all the way back to Salt Lake. Excellent service, prices, and experience. 👌🏼

I’ll admit - I used to frequent ACME’s competitor but am now fully converted. ACME has saved my bacon about a million & a half times when I’ve been in need. Their hours are SO much more accessible than the competition and the customer service cannot be beat. When the power was out for days on end, these guys took down names by CANDLELIGHT in order to still be available to their customer base. This is what small businesses are supposed to be all about: feeling like your interactions are personal & not just canned. Forever customer here. This is a wonderful camera shop with a wide selection of lenses and bodies both film and digital. The staff are super friendly and helpful and worked to diagnose some issues I was having with my Nikon D750. I will definitely be back!

This place was wonderful! Great camera selection and super friendly service. My camera wasn’t working while on a road trip and I stopped by on my way through Salt Lake to see if they were able to fix it. Karill especially was a huge help and was able to fix my camera and even waived the charge. It was hard not to leave without buying something, everything they have is dope! They even sell some sick t shirts and hoodies. Next time I’m in town I’m definitely stopping by. Highly recommend.

My grip equipment didnt make it onto my connecting flight to SLC, but Jet at ACME Camera was able to help me out and rent me everything I needed to make it to my 10am job on time!

So heres the thing. Everything I have ever rented from them has been in great working condition. However for an additional charge they offer delivery to a few select locations in the valley. Their delivery system is very unorganized. There have been complications every time that I have paid for their Orem delivery. They have always been great to help when things dont go right with the delivery, very kind and willing to make it right... Until today. I had my assistant pick up our order, nothing was labeled and there were multiple items in different bags. Theres was no way for him to know what bags were ours. When he got back to the studio, there were missing items. I called to let them know, and the lady that answers the phone was extremely dismissive and basically told me it was my problem and would have to travel back to the delivery location to pick up the rest of my order. They did everything correct and this was my fault. I dont mind the additional trip as much, but her condescending and dismissive attitude was really hard to swallow. Dont know if I will use them again.

Acme by far has the best customer service I have experienced since stores reopened. I went to 5 other camera / photo stores before acme so I can whole heartily say they know their stuff about Antique & Vintage Cameras and I was shocked they had the part I needed for a camera 70 yrs old from Germany . Here is the best part they dont price gouge because its a very rare hard to find item online for up to $75.00 ..I paid under $10.00 plus they cleaned my camera for free . This is a great honest local business I highly recommend you give them a try. Parking is kind of different dont let that scare you away . Once you walk in to one of the biggest variety of cameras and equipment in Utah i have seen and meet the staff you will be so glad you went. Followed covid 19 safety & hygiene 95 % better than the other stores and big chains I have been to lately. Great treasure to find them today . Thanks guys

Renting from acme was amazing and well worth it. Everything functioned well and looked almost like new, which I was honestly worried about something going wrong with renting so it was a welcome relief! You can tell the owner and employees take great pride in their work. The shop itself has an amazing vintage vibe with both very old and new cameras/equipment alike.. To top it all off the price was amazing on everything! Id definitely recommend them and Ill definitely be going back.

I had rented a canon lens and camera 5 days in advance. While on my way to pick the items up, I was notified the camera was unavailable. I had a wedding shoot that day and was totally unprepared due to the failure of Acme. I was offered a Sony camera and lens but had to learn the whole new interface of Sony. Jacob was very accommodating but still was unable to deliver. Will be switching camera rental companies.

This, then,, is your new favorite place...I loved when I walked in the store for the first time there was an actual, honest-to-god record player playing a 12in LP. You can buy,, sell or rent photography gear including cameras, lenses and lighting. if you have old-style gear that needs to find a new home out of your closet than this is the place to bring it... They will re-home it to a new, loving owner. Always a great experience..

A rental house like no other. Landing in a new city for a commercial shoot is routine for me however I was surprised how easy and professional my experience was with Acme. They had everything I needed and reserving the equipment was so easy. They didnt even flinch when I had to make some changes to the order at the last minute. I wish other rental houses would pay attention and step their game up. It is reassuring that the owner is often the one who working behind the scenes to get your order together.

This is my second time renting from this place. My first was at their old location near sugarhouse. Since then, they have increased the amount of equipment they have at the new location downtown. In my experience with them, the customer service has always been great with the staff. The equipment rented was great, had no issues at all. One thing I like about this place is their Sunday policy. Since they are closed on Sundays, and you were to rent the equipment on Saturday, you get an extra day free (Sunday) no charge, since they are closed. Its a great deal. I will continue to rent from this place. Very pleased.

I always rent gear from Acme and Im always pleased with their service and equipment! Yesterday I needed my new camera and lens calibrated before a photoshoot and they got it done in an hour and I was on my way! I love Acme and would highly recommend them!

I am very disappointed with Acme Camera Co. I have rented their professional video cameras for several of my events but this time the camera rented was suppose to be the most user friendly. However, when we went to use, there was no sound causing us to record half of our professional performance without sound! There were was not a manual included with the camera nor was any instructions on how to use the camera when it was picked up. When our videographer tried to call to get instructions, she was told she would just have to figure it out. The owner said he would see what he could do since we now have to manually put the sound in, but never returned my call nor did anything to make things right. I would not recommend this company as they are unprofessional and assume customers just know everything about a camera they have never used before without any instruction.

I have been renting from Acme for over a year, and every time i am amazed at how easy it is to rent and schedule pick ups! I run around and have a crazy schedule on wedding days and they always work with me and make sure i get what i need! I will always recommend Acme! They are the best!

Very good camera shop with good variety of gear. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, which I appreciate as someone just picking up film photography. I brought in my grandfather’s Leica M2 camera, where they told me its value, cleaned it up, and gave me a brief tutorial on loading film and other basic operations. Later on, I bought a tripod and was graciously shown how to install and remove my camera into/from it.I highly recommend this place as the place to get essential camera gear.

Had a last minute project and these guys were easy to work with, fast and got everything I needed even added more to help with what I was looking for. With all the craziness, I felt that I gave them a difficult time with the final invoice but they were very professional in handling it. ACME Camera Rental has great customer service. Just rented from them for the first time, and when I arrived to pick up the lens I was informed it hadnt been returned and was unavailable. They were very polite and offered several options including an entire camera system from Canon (I shoot Nikon) which would allow me to use the desired glass. I ended up choosing a different lens from Nikon instead and had a great shoot. I was very impressed by how smoothly ACME staff handled what could have been a disappointing experience. I will definitely rent from them again. Thank you ACME!

I really Loved this place. Ever since Ive moved here from California to here Ive been renting from this place. Prices are great and the equipment is awesome. However recently customer service has been horrible. The young lady who worked there said that she would call me back for a refund that she would have to check with the owner about its been 2 weeks already and no call.

Renting camera equipment for a day or two is a great way to test out some new equipment before deciding to buy or not. They also sell gently used equipment. I highly recommend them.

The staff are all very friendly! Sometimes there can be some mix-ups with the equipment, but they have always taken care of us. It can be a little pricey, but definitely not as pricey as buying the equipment you need. So I would absolutely recommend Acme for all of your camera and camera equipment rental needs!

An employee always illegally parks in the handicap spot & another takes up two lanes. I have mobility issues at times, finding this troubling. Theres just not enough parking. If youre in a wheelchair or can, the parking lot behind slopes downward, a dangerous situation, particularly in inclement weather.

Its great to see a company shake up the monopolized camera rental market in Utah.When they opened I seem to remember that rental prices were cut in half over-night. Whats better is that Acme is run by a much friendlier staff than their only rental competitor, Picture-line which makes the experience of borrowing gear, a LOT less stressful for me.They sell the right gear and rent everything Id ever want, including Fujifilm!! I even bought a zoom lens brand new from them because I want them to stay in Sugarhouse for good.They run a really clean and hip storefront in a great location. All the staff seem to like the owner and care about what they do.Simply put, I always try Acme before going anywhere else.
