Nick is great! Super honest about what actually needs to be done and doesn’t try to sell you anything you don’t need. My ac 15 was busted and now has never sounded better!! Thanks so much!! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs any amp work done
Wow. You guys absolutely kill it. My EVH has never sounded better. Ever. Hands down the best place to go for amp work. You have to understand these guys are the real deal and care about their work and care about the culture. If youre looking for the corporate experience, go to guitarcenter and fight that battle. If youre looking for the real deal, this is absolutely it. Proud to know you guys now. Ill be back because I consistantly break everything. Thanks again. Couldnt be happier.
Stay clear. Nick is a very talented designer/electrician, unfortunately his inability to follow-through, stick to a budget, a timeline, and honor his commitments make for a very frustrating experience. Still waiting on my amp - has been several weeks and promised delivery dates - still no amp. Nick says everything is done and its ready to ship and Ive paid him in full, however that was three weeks ago - still no amp. My next step is legal action.
I’m no “vintage gear collecting blues lawyer,” but I am an active stage musician and have been for the past 5 years. Every musical piece of gear I own goes to Nick and Mikey. I know it will be done correctly and gone through thoroughly. That’s always ALWAYS worth a few more dollars or another week no matter what. I would gladly pay double, or triple (this has never ever happened) what anyone else charges because I know it’ll be done right. I can depend on Nick to do things correctly so it won’t let me down ON STAGE.
Nick at DFX can fix your gear. I have taken all of my gear repair requirements to him over the last few years and have full confidence that he can diagnose and repair any electronic issue with your gear as long as it is an issue that is not beyond repairable. If you are thinking of getting something repaired, he will be up front with you on the potential cost and time frame estimates. Its the only place Ill ever take my gear for repair. Check out their amazing boutique line of effects pedals and custom amplifiers as well!
These guys are awesome. I took my guitar amp there with a loose tube and the guy there was friendly and told me it was an easy fix and told me how to do itand sent me on my way at no charge. From what I saw of the shop there isnt much in the way of electrical musical instruments that they dont work on.
Had my Fender Hotrod Deluxe gone over for an overhaul/cleaning/general maintenance after 8 years of gigs and beer and smoke... DFX recommended and got the sweetest tunes in it and made it sound better than new. 100% recommend!
DFX is the only place I trust to fix my gear. Prompt, professional, and friendly. I cannot recommend these guys enough. Top notch work and very reasonably priced.
Please, please, please do not take any of your gear to Nick. He completely and utterly ripped me off and he does not deserve any business. I am a vintage gear collector that lives in Salt Lake and I have dealt with a number of technicians over the years both in and out of Utah. Working with Nick has easily been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I was completely and utterly ripped off.He had my vintage Hiwatt for over two months and was unable to diagnose or fix the problem. He was a terrible communicator and while he had the amp in his possession he text me at multiple points to inform me that he was too busy to work on it. His solution was that I leave my amp with him indefinitely and that he would eventually fix it OR that I pay him a much larger final sum and he would make it a priority. At no point did he give me confidence that he had any idea what he was doing so I eventually told him I wanted my amp back. When I came to pick it up he had the audacity to charge me $300 for an amp that still had issues and was still not functioning. He gave me an invoice that contained no honest recounting of the number of hours he spent working on the amp.One of the worst experiences Ive ever had3 of my closest friends have taken gear to him in the past and after what I went through with him have told me they will no longer use him.I will tell every local musician I know to avoid him like the plague.
Best amp work, and customization in town. Nick & crew are awesome fellas! Ensure your gear gets fixed correctly. Take it here!
:o wow such a nice synth hospital
Best electronic repair ever. Nick has fixed unfixable pedals for me before. Will always come highly recommended!
Nick and crew is the best in town i highly recommend them for all your amp repairs and modifications not to mention they make some killer effects and amplifiers !
Nick built me a custom-speced Hiwatt 504 around a year ago. Ive always had an excellent experience with him. He also has some great fx pedals.
Hands down the best place to take your gear in Utah.
Took my amp to DFX and it was fixed the next day and hasn’t stopped working since. That was four years ago. I only take my gear to DFX for repairs.
This company has been nothing but good to us as a band. They are always honest and friendly.
Experience, passion and craft of this caliber are hard to come by these days. Wouldnt trust my gear with anyone else.
