I have read the previous reviews, and all I can say is they are the farthest from my experience. Great communication, and super fast shipping. As for the price, no complaint here, but some of you need to realize that ammo prices have gone up, so if you are looking for cheap ammo, there is no such thing right now. The owner was at academy letting his family cut in front of him to buy out the ammo and an old lady called him out and he started getting nasty with her and it made me so mad I challenged him to mutual combat on account of his fighting words. All i wanted was a fair fight, we can do it all legal signed waivers in a ring and put it on Facebook live.

Plenty of other places to buy ammo in san Antonio for a good price save yourself from the rude customer service. Havent seen a single apology on these reviews yet & the owners are so definitive. You can alteast say sorry for the inconvenience or something coming from another business owner.

Everything came as advertised, including shipping times, which is all I ask when buying. Price was in line with other company’s selling ammo, with the ammo I bought here being slightly less expensive, which is why I tried them out. Will buy from them again if their price on the ammo I am wanting to buy is most affordable.

To be fair, all ammunition sellers are pricing their stuff sky-high. A guy cannot even find 30-30 Winchester for less that $50.00 per box of 20.Even the auction sites are way up there in price. Ive never seen a shop price gouge so much in my life. They are taking advantage of new firearm owners in this pandemic as well as hunters (especially with the prices of their 30-30 Win rounds). A box of ammo that should cost $17.99 in a normal market, other shops are charging $30-$35. Then there is Alamo, OVER $100 FOR THE SAME THING. Sure there is supply and demand...but there is a limit to that. It is absolutely despicable that this is what Alamo is choosing to do. When prices go back to a fairly normal cost, REMEMBER WHAT SHOPS WERE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS and speak with your wallet. Looks like the owners are more interested in short term profit instead of long term loyal customers.Alamo can talk about how long they have been in business and their suppliers stock/prices and so on, but, it takes no more than 5 minutes to research other shops to show its a bunch of nonsense.Dont bother responding Alamo...WE KNOW.

Have ordered numerous times without incident during the confusion of the pandemic-prices are not the issue-something has changed and not for the better. My order was accepted and paid for-but never shipped. I inquired and was told -our Website is down so we cannot tell you anything and do not know when we can.This is a small operation and knowing if an order was shipped is not dependent on your website. There was no apology-just --we dont know. You never charge for merchandise and not ship it or have knowledge of it.

Sure the price was high, but ordering was easy and since its close to my office, I could swing by and pick it up. After getting shut out at 3 local gun stores plus Academy and Walmart, it was more important to get the ammo so I could sight my gun in than what it cost. I have not ordered from this place and after reading some reviews and a little research I definitely will never order from them. It is quite obvious that they are buying ammo from local retailers and then selling it at a significant mark up. For instance, Monarch is made for Academy Sports by Barnaul. Academy is currently sold out but this place magically has it in stock. They are obviously price gouging and here are a couple examples. Academy sells the 520 round cans of 7.62x39mm for 149.99. This place has them for $209. Academy sells the same can in 5.56x45mm again for 149.99. This place has it listed at $319. Do the comparisons yourself if you dont believe me. Seems like a pretty shady place to me. Im sure Academy would be interested in this as well.Update: you will see the owners response. There is no way they ordered Monarch as it is an Academy brand. I also know they did not buy any Academy stores. So theyre response still does not explain how they have another companies ammo and its much more expensive.

I visited back in June and the pricing was excellent. I looked today to see about getting more. No way will I be paying a dollar per bullet for pistol ammo. Ill be a customer again when the prices arent 3x what I paid last time I was there. I give 3 stars because the gentleman that ran it was nice, and the fact that he has ammo available is a plus. The lack of availability has effected everybody but I just cannot justify spending that much per round. A day at the range would end up costing me over 100 dollars at that price.

They wouldn’t answer their phones for multiple days and I ended up having to drive to the business because they weren’t able to ship until weeks later because they were “so backed up.”I finally sent emails requesting my ammo and 2 days later got back a reply that it would be shipped sometime in the next week when a week had already passed.The website needs to be updated because their ammo is almost 100% higher than other stores. If I was you I’d shop around somewhere else because they have zero customer service and very slow response and shipping times.

No problems placing order. Received my order in the mail in 5-6 days from placing order (over the weekend so it would have been 3-4 days). Very quick. Yes it was expensive but that’s expected, the demand for Ammo anywhere is high. I even emailed Them and they got back to me very quickly. I’d highly recommend Alamo Ammo for sure.

Got my order confirmation on the 21st of September got my order at my front door on the 25th. They had it shipped out the next day after I ordered it took about a week 5 days to get to my house. I will be ordering from them again. I accidentally ordered twice and they were quick to reply to cancel one of the orders. This is relatively cheap compared to other sites price gouging even more then what you see on Alamo ammo. Thanks for the good service

Havent bought ammo here, but on a review reply, the owner stated Hello we have been in business over 30 years and have plenty of satisfied customers. However, on their actual website at the top they state that they have been in business for 10 years.Whether or not they deliver ammo as promised, whoever is working here is intentionally misrepresenting their business. A company that does that is not one to be trusted, especially during national ammo shortages such as this. Take the time to look harder, elsewhere.

I ordered two tins of 7.62x39 and I understand the shipping delay (which wasnt bad). I received one tin of 7.62 but the other tin was .223. I contacted their customer support division and received an email confirming that they would look into the issue. Fast resolution of issue!

Great experience buying ammo here. Friendly and knowledgeable about all types of ammunition. Great selection of 9mm hollow point ammo and very well priced given the current times. I was surprised as to how much they had. I’ve been searching for weeks, glad I found this gem. I’ll definitely be coming back. Oh and by the way, they kept it safe, one transaction at a time. UPDATE: Received full refund as of 10/23/2020I ordered products from Alamo Ammo on Sun 10/4 which was promptly processed on Mon 10/5 for delivery on Wed 10/7. FedEx has lost the package and would just need the shipper to file a claim which Alamo Ammo said it would do on Wed 10/14 (7 days after shipping was lost) and so far, they have not responded to atleast 3 emails and the phone number is not working for customers. I know things are very busy, but I will have to get my money back from my credit card if they won’t ship my order or respond.Update: Finally talked to Mark in the last week and he was very helpful and good to deal with. He apologized for being behind and said it was due to the huge increase in demand, which is understandable. On the other hand, my order was supposed to have been all in stock and was not. They sell 520 rds of .223 monarch for over $400. Academy sells it for $150. Monarch is ACADEMYS brand. Meaning, the only way to get it is for them to walk into the store, buy it for $150 and then upcharge it 250 bucks. They are the reason we cant get ammo unless we want to pay triple the price. Purchased ammo at the gun show-pleasantly surprised they had stock of what I needed. The owner took his time to answer my questions and addressed my concerns. I’m a newbie so the purchasing process can be filled with unfamiliar lingo. I’m definitely going back to buy more.

Poor customer service. Ordered ammo nearly a month ago and it still has not arrived. Sent them an email on what the problem was. They stated they did not have enough workers to fill orders. Not my problem. Hire more people if you want to remain open. First and last time I will order from them.

Always way overpriced, they choose the poorest shipping method and require signature while other sites can verify age several ways. My order arrived with no protective packing and all the rounds were loose and some powder and bullets fell out. When reached out to them they called me a liar and did nothing to help.

The fact that this company has at least three different stories about how long theyve been in business should be a huge red flag to anyone. Also, they claim they are pricing stuff below other peoples prices, but even ammoseek.com shows this to be a lie. They also claim that distributors have raised their prices. Multiple distributors have said that this is not the case when accused of it. They are shady at best, and scam artists at worst. Stay far, far away.

So I ordered 1,000 rds of .223 from Alamo Ammo on Wednesday June 10th. The site advertised ready to ship, 3 day shipping. They state they’re open 7 days a week. On Monday June 15th I still had not received shipping confirmation so I reached out to Alamo and asked them what was going on with my order, they said they were a little behind on processing orders and they would process my order Tuesday 6/16 or Wednesday 6/17. Well I didn’t receive confirmation Wednesday so I reached back out Wednesday evening and they told me they were over 5 days behind processing orders and they would process my order Thursday 6/18 or Friday 6/19. Ok great. So on Wednesday 6/24 my order still was not processed and I had no shipping confirmation, so I reached back out and explained everything. I asked them what we could do to make this right. $40 shipping and they advertised 3 day shipping. They said they “would check with the fulfillment team and get back to me.” Well 3 more days went by and I reached out again only to get no response. So here we are 6/29 19 days later, no ammo, no shipping confirmation and it’s still not processed and no response. Guess it’s time to file a claim with my bank. 0/10

I made a purchase online from alamoammo.com for 762*39 ammo, which I proceeded to pay for thousand rounds which they listed online on their own website. They took my payment and received a email conformation of my purchase. Then next day they proceed to cancel my order and would not sell me the ammo that they listed on their website which I already paid for at their listing price. I will be Contacting BBB about their Shady/deceiving practices of their listing on their website.

Honestly the reviews dont pay it justice. i went to the store, and picked up a can of 7.62X54R, they were very nice and really cared about my purchase.

If I could give no stars, I would. They completed an online sale with me, I even spoke with someone over the phone to do so, and 8 DAYS LATER they sent me an email not only saying they havent shipped out my order yet, but also that they miscalculated shipping and they wanted to charge me $21 extra! I replied to that email saying that a sale is a legal contract and that they should honor the final price of my order and fix the shipping cost problem for future customers, otherwise they should just cancel my order altogether. 3 more days went by, and no reply to that email. I called customer service to see what in the world was going on, and the woman who answerd the phone was rude to the point of obnoxious, and sounded like she couldnt care less about my problem. Needless to say, I will NEVER do business with these people again and I will let everyone I know to never do business with them either. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS.

They had 303 rimmed ammo for a Lee Enfield and I couldnt find it any where but I found it here. Even offered to order me speciality ammo for me if I wanted it.

I called and asked about a simple .22 ammo order. I was calling because Alamo Ammo had sent me a FedEx tracking number that was showing an error with Fed Ex. The lady very rudely cuts me off before I finish and tells me that the order is sitting right here beside me because the Fed Ex guy has not even picked it up. I let her know that she didnt need to be rude and disrespectful and she begins berating me on the phone. Instead of listening to the entire tirade, I hung the phone up in haste as to not lose my temper. Rude and disrespectful to customers is just unacceptable. To say the least, I will never...ever....ever order from them again, nor will my family or my associates. My mistake was not reading the reviews before I placed the order. People just do not have people skills anymore. Based on the unprofessional behavior exhibited to me over the phone, I suggest that you do business elsewhere.

A couple years ago, I ordered several types of 20ga shotgun ammunition from Alamo (for my father). They billed my credit card immediately. After 45 days they had not shipped the ammunition. I contacted them and received nothing but excuses about how long it takes to make the ammo, so I cancelled the order. I also posted negative feedback on a website.They saw the posting and offered to give me free ammunition if I would remove the posting. I told they that if they shipped the ammunition I ordered, I would pay the full price AND take down the negative feedback.Sometime later I received a parcel containing several varieties of 12ga ammunition (not the 20ga I ordered). All of which were poorly made reloads. The ends of the shells were open, some of the casings were clear and I could clearly see debris (hair, dirt, powder granules, etc.) inside the shells. I was afraid to use it so I discarded it properly without shooting it.I also wrote them a email explaining that their logo needs to be changed because the gave me all excuses and no ammo.

I checked their website on 2/6/12 for ammo. They have 525 count .22lr remington for 249.95. Thinking that was a mistake on their website I called, and they confirmed they are charging 250.00 for something other people are selling for 50.00 because it is hard to find. This is price gouging in the worst way. I filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General today. Pete.....you must be the customer service rep I talked to this AM. This is bullshit.

I needed ammo nobody else had and decided to give Alamo Ammo a try since they had a decent sale going on.I placed an order with Alamo, using a credit card I havent used in over a year. It has had a zero balance. Two days later, that same credit card number was used, including the expiration date and CVE code to make a online purchase at a online only electronics store! A fraud claim was made and the investigation reveals the item was ordered from a IP address in San Antonio and shipped there...the same city Alamo Ammo is!Dont shop there......your credit card is obviously unsecure and will be used by one of their employees!

Ordered 25 boxes of Prvi Partizan .223 (non magnetic bullets, brass casings). They sent me 25 boxes of Wolf Poly .223 (magnetic, steel casings), which is basically useless in my area because no ranges accept magnetic rounds. Sent them an email with pictures (their shipping label on a case clearly marked Wolf Poly). They didnt respond so I called them and they said theyd take care of it.
